The balance equations are used to investigate the hot electron magneto-transport in narrowgap semiconductor InSb at 77 K in crossed weak magnetic field and electric field. In the case of vanishing transverse velocity, the drift mobility and the Hall mobility are calculated and it is shown that the Hall factor in InSb at 77K is less than 1 and decreases with electric field. In the case of vanishing transverse electric field, the longitudinal velocity and the transverse velocity are calculated as a function of the magnetic field and the electric field. The effect of the magnetic field on the longitudinal velocity is different from that on the transverse velocity.  相似文献

The effect of a transverse magnetic field on a one-dimensional metallic current carrying conductor is considered. The field produces a transverse electric polarization which is wavevector dependent, and which causes a transverse magnetoelectric field. We have conducted numerical studies of ballistic electron transport in a semicon-ductor II-structure when an external transverse electric field is applied. The device conductance as a function of electron energy and the strength of the transverse electric field is calculated on the basis of tight-binding Green's function formalism. The calculations show that a relatively weak electric field can induce very large decrease in the electron transmission across the structure. When the transverse electric field is sufficiently strong, electrons can hardly be transported through the device. Thus the performance of the device can be greatly improved for it is much easier to control electron transport through the device with an external transverse electric field.  相似文献

The phase diagrams of a spin-2 transverse Ising model with a random field on honeycomb, square, and simple-cubic lattices, respectively, are investigated within the framework of an effective-field theory with correlations.We find the behavior of the tricritical point and the reentrant phenomenon for the system with any coordination number z, when the applied random field is bimodal. The behavior of the tricritical point is also examined as a function of applied transverse field. The reentrant phenomenon comes from the competition between the transverse field and the random field.  相似文献

We report on the first-principles calculations of bandgap modulation in armchair MoS(2) nanoribbon (AMoS(2)NR) by transverse and perpendicular electric fields respectively. In the monolayer AMoS(2)NR case, it is shown that the bandgap can be significantly reduced and be closed by transverse field, whereas the bandgap modulation is absent under perpendicular field. The critical strength of transverse field for gap closure decreases as ribbon width increases. In the multilayer AMoS(2)NR case, in contrast, it is shown that the bandgap can be effectively reduced by both transverse and perpendicular fields. Nevertheless, it seems that the two fields exhibit different modulation effects on the gap. The critical strength of perpendicular field for gap closure decreases with increasing number of layers, while the critical strength of transverse field is almost independent of it.  相似文献

The mixed spin- 1/2 and spin- 3/2 transverse Ising model in a longitudinal magnetic field is studied within the framework of the effective-field theory with correlations. In this approach the effective-field equations are derived by using a probability distribution method based on the generalized but approximated van der Waerden identities. The total longitudinal and transverse magnetizations, the transverse susceptibility and longitudinal susceptibility and the critical temperatures are obtained. We find a number of interesting phenomena in these quantities, due to the applied transverse field and the longitudinal field.  相似文献

利用有效场理论和切断近似,在伊辛模型的框架内考虑随机横场与晶场作用的混合自旋1/2 和自旋1系统的热力学性质。重点研究了晶场、横场和随机浓度对混合自旋系统相变的影响 ,研究发现在随机横场条件下,较小的晶场存在并不能改变临界横场阈值;取较大横场值时 在某些随机浓度的范围内出现重入相变现象,而取较小横场值时则没有出现重入相变现象。 给出了有关相图并进行了讨论。 关键词: 混合自旋系统 伊辛模型 热力学性质 随机横场  相似文献

We study the thermodynamic properties of random transverse field mixed spin system in the presence of single-ion anisotropy on a square lattice. By making use of the effective field theory and a cutting approximation, the detailed phase diagrams are described and some interesting results are found under trimodal random transverse field distribution. A small single-ion anisotropy can magnify magnetic ordering region at low temperatures and existence of a large transverse field can assist the occurrence of reentrant phenomena. With increasing disorder, second-order phase transitions are shown to change into first-order phase transitions. The trajectory of the tricritical point in the phase space as a function of disorder is presented. These indicate a strong correlation with the corresponding to trimodal transverse field distribution.  相似文献

The phase diagram and magnetizations of two 2D nanoparticles with a negative core–shell interaction, described by the transverse Ising model, are investigated by the use of the effective field theory with correlations. The behaviors of a compensation point in these nanosystems are examined by changing an applied transverse field. It is proved that a compensation point can be induced in the two nanosystems by applying a transverse field.  相似文献

The effect of annealed antiferromagnetic bond randomness on the phase transitions of the Quantum Ising Model (QIM) is studied by using mean-field renormalization group method. It is argued that bond randomness drastically alters multicritical phase diagram via transverse field. Multicritical points and coexistence region of ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic case exist only at weak transverse field,.and are entirely eliminated at strong transverse field. The coexistence region diminishes in reducing the fluctuation interaction. This physical picture demonstrates that the competition between transverse field and exchange interaction and fluctuation interaction via bond randomness play an important role in generating multiphase structure. Another consequence of competition is that tricritical points of first-second order phase transitions are not entirely eliminated by bond randomness in two-dimensional QIM.  相似文献

In subnormal glow discharge under d.c. excitation at different pressure in a varying transverse magnetic field (0 to 30 G) some measurements have been carried out for various initial average tube currents. The voltage across the discharge increases and average tube current and residual current decreases in the magnetic field. With the help of Beckman’s expression [4] for the axial field and the electron density distribution in a transverse magnetic field the observed variation of current and voltage can be satisfactorily explained. The variation of axial electric field with transverse magnetic field can be represented to a fair degree of accuracy by the derived equation. The behaviour of residual current with magnetic field has been observed in these oscillations.  相似文献

It has been shown that a side electrode perpendicular to the measurement ones can significantly enhance the transverse electric current in TGS. Such a current, measured in a zero external electric field, resembles the classic longitudinal one. However, the amplitude of the transverse current oscillation, observed while cooling and heating the sample, rises much more slowly with the time of the transverse electric field preliminary application. Such exposure to the transverse field is required prior to the measurements for the transverse current to be observed, in a similar way to a longitudinal field that is applied in order to achieve a single domain state before longitudinal pyroelectric current measurements. A huge difference in the time of reaction to the electric fields preliminarily applied in order to achieve the maximum amplitude of the current oscillations in both cases is the evidence that the transverse current cannot be considered to be originated just for geometrical reasons.  相似文献

Based on the vectorial structure of electromagnetic beam and the method of stationary phase, the analytical structure of Hermite Gaussian beam in far field is presented. The structural energy flux distributions are also investigated in the far field. The structural pictures of some Hermite Gaussian beams are depicted in the far field. As the structure of Hermite Gaussian beam is dominated by the transverse mode numbers and the initial transverse Gaussian half width, it is more complex than that of Gaussian beam. The ratios of the structural energy fluxes to the whole energy flux are independent of the transverse mode numbers and the initial transverse Gaussian half width. The present research reveals the internal vectorial structure of Hermite Gaussian beam from other viewpoint.\  相似文献

A bond diluted spin-1 Ising model with crystal and transverse field interactions is examined for honeycomb lattice by introducing an effective field approximation that takes into account the correlations between different spins that emerge when expanding the identities. The effects of the crystal field as well as the transverse field and dilution on the phase diagrams and order parameter mz are discussed in detail. A number of interesting and unusual phenomena such as reentrant phenomena and three successive phase transitions originating from the crystal field as well as the transverse field and bond dilution have been found.  相似文献

A spin-1 transverse Ising model with longitudinal crystal field in a longitudinal magnetic field is examined by introducing an effective field approximation (IEFT) which includes the correlations between different spins that emerge when expanding the identities. The effects of the crystal field as well as the transverse and longitudinal magnetic fields on the thermal and magnetic properties of the spin system are discussed in detail. The order parameters, Helmholtz free energy, entropy and specific heat curves are calculated numerically as functions of the temperature and Hamiltonian parameters. A number of interesting phenomena such as reentrant phenomena originating from the temperature, crystal field, transverse and longitudinal magnetic fields have been found.  相似文献

The propagation of elastic waves in piezoelectric and magnetostrictive materials is considered theoretically. It is shown that an elastic wave in a piezoelectric can create not only a longitudinal electric field parallel to the wave normal (longitudinal piezoactivity) but also a transverse field of electric induction (transverse piezoactivity). The presence of a transverse induction field leads to the appearance of a magnetic field perpendicular to the direction of the wave normal and to the induction vector; therefore, the transverse-piezoactive wave is accompanied by a transverse wave having the structure of an electromagnetic wave and propagating with the speed of sound.
