The spin-1/2 quantum Heisenberg ferromagnet with anisotropic spin exchange interactions in three dimensions are investigated by means of the Green's function method. In the Tyablikov approximation, the correlation functions, the magnetization, and the susceptibilities are computed. The magnetic properties of this model are found to be dependent of anisotropy.

An analytical study on the properties of intrinsic localized modes and modulational instability in a quantum two-dimensional ferromagnet with single-ion uniaxial anisotropy is completed in the semiclassical limit. By making use of the semidiscrete multiple-scale method, we obtain a line localized solution and a radially symmetric localized solution, and analyze their existence conditions. Taking into account that the existence of bright localized solutions is closely linked to the modulational instability of plane waves, we analytically study the discrete modulational instability of plane spin waves. The result of the modulational instability analysis show that the uniaxial anisotropy plays a key role in the appearance of our intrinsic localized spin wave modes.

Within the framework of an effective field approximation, the effects of single-ion anisotropy and different trimodal transverse fields of two sublattices on the critical properties of the mixed spin-1/2 and spin-1 Ising system are investigated on the simple cubic lattice. A smaller single-ion anisotropy can magnify magnetic ordering phases and a larger one can depress magnetic ordering phase for T-Ω1/2 space at low temperatures, while a smaller single-ion anisotropy can hardly change the value of critical transverse field for T-Ω1 space. On the other hand, influences of two different trimodal transverse fields concentrations on tricritical points and magnetic ordering phases take on some interesting results in T-D space. The main reason comes from the common action of single-ion anisotropy, different transverse fields and two trimodal distributions.

Taking the intrinsic decoherence effect into account, the entanglement ofa two-qubit anisotropic Heisenberg XYZ chain in the presence of the Dzyaloshinski Moriya (DM) anisotropic antisymetric interaction is investigated in this paper. Concurrence, the measurement of entanglement, is calculated. Compared with the anisotropic in XY plane, the DM interaction is another kind of anisotropic antisymmetrie exchange interaction. It is shown that the intrinsic decoherence obviously suppresses the time evolution of the entanglement. The DM interaction only acts on the time evolution of the entanglement when the initial state is [ψ(0)〉 = cosα|01〉 + sinα|10〉 and weakens the degree of entanglement. The anisotropic in XY plane merely impacts on the time evolution of the entanglement when the system & initially in a state |ψ(0)〉 = cos α|00〉 + sin α|11 〉. The sufficiently weak anisotropic in XY plane can effectively enhance the degree of entanglement.

In the present paper, we investigate the quantum phase transition in a spatially anisotropic antiferrornagnetic Heisenberg model of S =1 with single-ion energy anisotropy. By using the Schwinger boson representation, we calculate the Gaussian correction to the critical value J⊥^c caused by quantum spin fluctuations. We find that, for the positive single-ion energy, a nonzero value of J⊥^c is always needed to stabilize the antiferromagnetic long-range order in this model. It resolves a difference among literature and shows clearly that the effect of quantum fluctuations may qualitatively change a result obtained by the mean-field theories on lower-dimensional systems.

Instanton configurations of (1+1)-dimensions in an antiferromagnetic biaxial-anisotropy-spin-chain are obtained explicitly in the strong anisotropy limit, which interpolate between degenerate equilibrium orientations of the Néel vector along easy axis and are seen to be responsible for quantum tunneling. Macroscopic quantum coherence of the domain walls is demonstrated in terms of the instantons.

We study the thermodynamic properties of random transverse field mixed spin system in the presence ofsingle-ion anisotropy on a square lattice. By making use of the effective field theory and a cutting approximation, thedetailed phase diagrams are described and some interesting results are found under trimodal random transverse fielddistribution. A smallsingle-ion anisotropy can magnify magnetic ordering region at low temperatures and existence ofa large transverse field can assist the occurrence of reentrant phenomena. With increasing disorder, second-order phasetransitions are shown to change into first-order phase transitions. The trajectory of the tricritical point in the phasespace as a function of disorder is presented. These indicate a strong correlation with the corresponding to trimodaltransverse field distribution.

The spin stiffness of spin-1/2 two-dimensional isotropic Heisenberg antiferromagnet is calculated by a perturbation method based on the extended Schwinger-Boson mean-field theory. We arrive at a value of the spin stiffness, ps = 0.176J, which is in quite well agreement with experiments and the numerical results.

The spin wave spectrum of the double-exchange model with anisotropic Hund coupling is investigated using the spin wave approximation and Green's function approach based on Furukawa's work [J. Phys. Soc. Jpn. 65 (1996) 1174]. It is found that there exists a spin gap, which agrees with the observations in the inelastic neutron scattering experiments for La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 and La0.7Pb0.3MnO3. The spin gap is directly related to the anisotropy of Hund coupling. The ratio of the xy and z Hund coupling strengths is estimated from experimental data and the possible origin of the spin gap from the Jahn-Teller effect is pointed out.

We study thermal spin squeezing (TSS) and thermal global entanglement (TGE) in a general Heisenberg spin chain, in the presence of Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction and an external magnetic field. We derive an inequality associating the squeezing parameter and the global concurrence, which establishes (TSS) as a signature of (TGE). The inequality reduces to equality for particular symmetric chains which also associates TSS with bipartite entanglement in such systems. We also check the results by presenting two numerical examples.

We report a neutron scattering study of the instantaneous spin correlations in the two-dimensional spin S =5/2 square-lattice Heisenberg antiferromagnet Rb2MnF4. The measured correlation lengths are quantitatively described, with no adjustable parameters, by high-temperature series expansion results and by a theory based on the quantum self-consistent harmonic approximation. Conversely, we find that the data, which cover the range from about 1 to 50 lattice constants, are outside of the regime corresponding to renormalized classical behavior of the quantum non-linear model. In addition, we observe a crossover from Heisenberg to Ising critical behavior near the Néel temperature; this crossover is well described by a mean-field model with no adjustable parameters.
