The parametric excitation of a low frequency wave has been investigated analytically in a two-hole species semiconductor-plasma in the region of kl ? 1 using the hydrodynamic model of the plasmas in the presence of a high frequency oscillatory electric field (E0 cos ω0t applied along the X-axis) and a d.c. magnetic field B0 normal to the electric field (along the Z-axis), the low frequency wave propagating in the X–Z plane making a very small angle θ with the X-axis. The system supports a purely growing unstable mode. The variation of the growth rate of the unstable mode has been studied over a wide range of system parameters for the specific case of an intrinsic GaAs crystal at 300 K. The oscillatory electric field can be obtained by irradiating the crystal with a 119μm H2O laser.  相似文献

Dynamic effects caused by the magnetoelectric and antiferroelectric interactions in tetragonal antiferromagnets are studied. The analysis is based on the example of trirutiles that are a series of antiferromagnets with different exchange structures and orientation states. We are mainly dealing with the excitation by an alternating electric field E(t) of spin waves typical of these magnets (antiferroelectric resonance) and the nuclear magnetoelectric resonance connected with these interactions. In the first case, special emphasis is placed on specific magnons (antimagnons), where only the antiferromagnetism vectors L take part in oscillations, whereas the total ferromagnetism vector M remains unchanged. The nuclear magnetoelectric resonance can be generated by oscillations of both L and M caused by field E(t). In this way, the field contributes to the hyperfine field, which acts on the nuclear spins. It is shown that the magnetic and antiferroelectric interactions in the dynamics can manifest themselves both at high (usually, exchange) frequencies ωwE (antiferroelectric resonance) and at rather low nuclear frequencies of ωnE. Particular cases of magnetic structures (phases) are considered where field E(t) can excite not only antimagnons, but also quasiantiferromagnons that have lower eigenfrequencies than those of quasimagnons (relativistic and semirelativistic).  相似文献

The parametric excitation of longitudinal waves in an infinite homogeneous plasma by a pump field E (t) = E 0(t) sin (ω0t + φ(t)) is studied on the basis of the Vlasov equation, where the amplitude E 0(t) and the phase φ(t) are slowly varying compared with ω0 periodic functions. Firstly it is assumed that ω0 is much larger than the electron plasma frequency ωLe. In the second part the parametric instabilities are considered under the resonance condition ω0 ≈ ωLe. In both parts the threshold fields for the excitation of the longitudinal waves and their growth rates are calculated. As an example these values are analysed for both a sequence of pump impulses and a phase-moduated pump field. They are compared with the results received for a monochromatic pump field.  相似文献

The effect of a transverse electric field on the multiphonon absorption of light in quantum-well systems in a uniform magnetic field aligned parallel to the spatial quantization axis is investigated. It is shown that, when the interaction of an electron with long-wavelength vibrations is taken into account, the half-width of the absorption line does not depend on the electric-field vector E. As the electric field strength increases, the maximum of the light absorption shifts toward the long-wavelength range and decreases. The effect of the electric field on the shape of the zero-phonon line and first vibrational satellites is analyzed with due regard for the interaction of charge carriers with optical phonons. It is demonstrated in particular that the half-width of the zero-phonon line substantially depends on the electric-field vector E and can reach several millielectron-volts at the electric field strength E = 2 × 104 V/cm.  相似文献

A theory for the response of a 2D two-level system to irradiation by a symmetric light pulse is developed. Under certain conditions, such an electron system approximates an ideal solitary quantum well in a zero field or a strong magnetic field H perpendicular to the plane of the well. One of the energy levels is the ground state of the system, while the other is a discrete excited state with energy ?ω0, which may be an exciton level for H=0 or any level in a strong magnetic field. It is assumed that the effect of other energy levels and the interaction of light with the lattice can be ignored. General formulas are derived for the time dependence of the dimensionless “coefficients” of the reflection ?(t), absorption A(t), and transmission ?(t) for a symmetric light pulse. It is shown that the ?(t), A(t), and ?(t) time dependences have singular points of three types. At points t 0 of the first type, A(t 0)=T(t 0)=0 and total reflection takes place. It is shown that for γr?γ, where γr and γ are the radiative and nonradiative reciprocal lifetimes, respectively, for the upper energy level of the two-level system, the amplitude and shape of the transmitted pulse can change significantly under the resonance ωl0. In the case of a long pulse, when γlr, the pulse is reflected almost completely. (The quantity γl characterizes the duration of the exciting pulse.) In the case of an intermediate pulse duration γlr, the reflection, absorption, and transmission are comparable in value and the shape of the transmitted pulse differs considerably from the shape of the exciting pulse: the transmitted pulse has two peaks due to the existence of the point t 0 of total reflection, at which the transmission is zero. If the carrier frequency ωl of light differs from the resonance frequency ω0, the oscillating ?(t), A(t), and ?(t) time dependences are observed at the frequency Δω=ωl0. Oscillations can be observed most conveniently for Δω?γl. The position of the singular points of total absorption, reflection, and transparency is studied for the case when ωl differs from the resonance frequency.  相似文献

Neutral helium line profiles (2P-4D), under the influence of suprathermal electric field fluctuations, are calculated with the use of a relaxation line-broadening theory. First-order plasma satellites at the nearby forbidden component (2P-4F) are investigated for various turbulent plasma conditions. The spectral energy densities of the suprathermal electric field fluctuations are analytically modeled to infer quantitative relations between the plasma satellites and the enhanced electric field. It is found that the far satellite can grow stronger than the near satellite and both satellites will split into doublets as the turbulent electric field increases. The theory is generalized to higher order to describe the second harmonic plasma satellites near the allowed transition.  相似文献

Experiments with the tetragonal antiferromagnet Nd2CuO4 in the temperature range 1.5 K < T < T N = 245 K show that the magnetic moments of Cu2+ possess an exchange-noncollinear magnetic structure of the “square” type, which has the form of an exchange doublet whose components exhibit different chiralities (Γ4 and Γ5 phases). Between these phases, consecutive phase transitions Γ4 ? Γ5 ? Γ4 with a change in chirality take place at temperatures T1 = 30 K and T2 = 70 K. The electron and nuclear magnetic resonances (natural frequencies and susceptibilities) associated with excitation of magnons (due to the magnetoelectric and antiferroelectric interactions) by an ac electric field E(t), as well as a variable magnetic field H(t) applied in the case of a constant electric field E0, are calculated. It is predicted that nuclear magnetic resonance is excited by an ac electric field at frequencies determined by hyperfine fields of the sublattices. The change in the resonance frequencies upon the above chiral phase transitions are analyzed (being first-order phase transitions, these transitions possess a number of features associated with the chirality of the magnetic structures).  相似文献

A discussion of the shielding of a charged particle in a current-carrying conductor is given that is based on the linearized Thomas-Fermi approximation. An expression for the force on a particle of charge q is obtained from which the value of the electric field Ec in the conductor may be found:
Ec = limq→0Fq/q
It is shown that the force on the particle has the form Fq = qE0 × (1 + γ(qe) + … to second order in the charge q, where E0 is the electric field at large distances from q, e is the charge of the carrier, and γ is a material-dependent constant. The shielding correction has the character of a “wind-force,” and the electric field in the conductor is given by Ec = E0.  相似文献

The magnetization reversal dynamics in La0.65Sr0.28Mn1.07O3 ceramics and NixZn1?x Fe2O4 nickel-zinc ferrite placed in a magnetic field is studied experimentally. The field is a superposition of quasi-static field H, rf field h ω cosωt, and low-frequency field h ΩcosΩt with Hh ωh Ω. The low-frequency response is found to be nonlinear in h Ω. A procedure discriminating between the linear and nonlinear components of this response is proposed. Unlike the linear component, the nonlinear component is an essentially anharmonic function of time. The results are analyzed in detail using the high-frequency and low-frequency magnetization reversal curves of the materials.  相似文献

The purpose of this paper is to study a limit probability distribution of the set of the first κ eigenvalues λ1(?)<λ2(?)<...<λκ(?) (with a fixed κ and ?→∞) of the boundary problem on the interval [0, ?] wherea(t, ω),q(t, ω) are the random stationary processes. Particularly the question of the repulsion between the first eigenvalues (small energetic levels) is studied. It has been proved that in the “divergent” case (q(t, ω)=0,a(t, ω)≠0) levels repulsion exists. As for the “potential” case (a(t, ω)≡1,q(t, ω)≠0) there is not any repulsion at all. We report variational calculations of the quadratic Zeeman effect of phosphorus impurity in silicon, which are compared to our experimental data for BE and BE. It is shown that a small variation of the ratio γ of the transverse and effective masses can lead to a good agreement between theory and experiment for the 2p0 line. The shift of the central component of the 2p± line has been found to depend on the polarization of the incident radiation and this fact has not yet been explained. It is also shown that the shift observed for the line ascribed previously to a 1s(A1)→3d0 transition can be consistent with this attribution, giving experimental evidence of its electronic nature.  相似文献

The influence of an intense radiation fieldE0 on the magnon damping in free carrier magnetic semiconductors is discussed. It is shown that the effect of the intense field is to give a drift velocity v0 = eE0/mΩ to the carriers such that when v0 exceeds the phase velocity of the spin waves the electrons are more able to emit magnons than they absorb and as a consequence the magnon population grows with time.  相似文献

Time-resolved measurements of satellites about the (1s2s?1s3d) forbidden transition in helium, satellites both of the Hδ line of hydrogen and of its splittings and, finally, satellites of He II 4868 Å have been observed. The behavior of these satellites is correlated relative to each other and to previously reported satellites both on Hβ and near the 6632 Å (1s2p?1s3p) forbidden transition in helium. The appearance of the satellites is attributed to a strong field interaction between orthogonal components of the dynamic and quasistatic electric fields generated in a plasma by an instability.  相似文献

We investigate an autocorrelation function of a soluble three-dimensional system, namely the temporal coherence functionC E(t)∝<E(0)E(t)> of the thermal radiation field in a cube-shaped cavity for the stochastic electrical fieldE. In the thermodynamic limit,C E(t) relaxes exponentially at intermediate times, but a “long-tail” behaviourC 0(t)=At?4 withA<0 is predominant for long times. In the case of a finite, but not too small, cavity lengthL obeyingΛ=hc/k BT?L and at timest withct?L, C E(t) is described by an asymptotic expansion in powers ofL ?1 using generalized Riemann zeta functions. Surface-and shape-effects enhance the long-tail. In the case of very small cavities withL«Λ, we calculate an expansion ofC E(t) in terms of exp(?L ?1) and cosines. An oscillatory, but not strictly periodic, long-time behaviour is observed in this case.  相似文献

Summary A previous investigation by one of us, concerning the self-consistent equilibria of a two-region (plasma+gas) cylindrical Tokamak, is extended to the similar equilibria of a Reversed-Field Pinch, where a significant current density is driven by a dynamo electric field due to turbulence. The previous model has been generalized under the following basic assumptions:a) to the lowest order, the turbulent dynamo electric fieldE t is expressed as a homogeneous function of degree 1 of the magnetic fieldB, sayE t =α·B, with α being a 2nd-rank tensor, homogeneous of degree 0 inB, and generally depending on the plasma state;b)E t does not appear in the plasma power balance, as if it were produced by a Maxwell demon able to extract the needed power from the plasma internal energy. In particular we show that, in the simplest case when both α and the plasma resistivity η are isotropic and constant, the magnetic field turns out force-free with constant abnormality αμ0/η for vanishing axial electric fieldE z . This case has also been solved analytically, for whateverE z , under circular, besides cylindrical, symmetry.  相似文献

The dependences of the antiferromagnetic resonance frequencies on the constant magnetic field H and constant electric field E are calculated for a KNiPO4 crystal with spontaneous electric polarization and antiferromagnetic order. It is demonstrated that the KNiPO4 crystal is characterized by an exchange-enhanced effect of the electric field E on the antiferromagnetic resonance frequencies. This effect is not revealed in the magnetoelectric materials studied earlier. It is established that oscillations of both magnetization and electric polarization exhibit resonance response at antiferromagnetic resonance frequencies. The expressions for these responses in alternating magnetic and electric fields are presented.  相似文献
