We generated tunable far-infrared radiation by mixing CO(2) -laser,(15)NH(3) -laser, and microwave radiations in a W-Co metal-insulator-metal diode. We used this far-infrared radiation to measure accurately the torsion-rotation transitions of CH(3)OH in the 6-8-THz region.  相似文献

We demonstrate that high-order harmonics generated by short, intense laser pulses in gases provide an interesting radiation source for extreme ultraviolet interferometry, since they are tunable, coherent, of short pulse duration, and simple to manipulate. Harmonics from the 9th to the 15th are used to measure the thickness of an aluminum layer. The 11th harmonic is used to determine the spatial distribution of the electron density of a plasma produced by a 300-ps laser. Electronic densities higher than 2-10(20)electrons/cm>(3) are measured.  相似文献

We report the first experimental demonstration of a Ni-like optical-field ionization collisional soft x-ray laser. The amplifying medium is generated by focusing a circularly polarized 760 mJ, 30 fs, 10-Hz Ti:sapphire laser beam in a few mm cell filled with krypton. We have measured a gain coefficient of 78 cm(-1) on the 3d(9)4d 1S0-3d(9)4p(1)P1 transition at 32.8 nm, which is here amplified for the first time. This radiation source represents the shortest wavelength optical-field ionization collisional soft x-ray laser ever produced. The influence of the gas pressure and the pumping energy on the lasing output are also presented.  相似文献

A near-infrared diode laser with sample-grating distributed Bragg reflectors was used as a widely tunable spectroscopic source for multispecies chemical sensing. Quartz-enhanced photoacoustic spectroscopy was utilized to obtain high absorption sensitivity in a compact gas cell. CO2, H2O C2H2, and NH3 were monitored. A noise equivalent sensitivity of 8 x 10(-9) cm(-1) W(-1) Hz(-1/2)for NH3 detection was achieved, which corresponds to a NH3 mixing ratio of 4.4 parts in 10(6) by volume (ppmv) with a 1-s time constant and available 5.2-mW optical power in the gas cell.  相似文献

Using a grating tuned TEA-CO2 laser with 10R(8) and 9R(16) line to pumped superradiant NH3 far-infrared (FIR) laser which operated in the mode of amplified stimulated emission and Fabry-Perot cavity NH3 FIR laser with a sample tube of 100cm and 20cm in length respectively, the corresponding pulsed FIR lasers were obtained successfully. Meantime, the experimental measure method was improved. Besides, the operating performance and the spectral characteristics of superradiant and cavity NH3-OPFIRL were studied experimentally.  相似文献

为实现GaAs表面的钝化,以Na2S、(NH4)2S、CH3CSNH2为主要研究对象,通过对比实验研究得出较为理想的湿法钝化液。通过光致发光(PL)谱研究了(NH4)2S 叔丁醇、CH3CSNH2 NH4OH、CH3CSNH2 叔丁醇三种不同含硫溶液钝化(100)GaAs表面后的发光特性。PL谱测试发现,(NH4)2S 叔丁醇饱和溶液处理过的(100)GaAs表面光致发光强度最强,PL谱的相对发光强度是未做钝化处理的10倍左右。因此得出(NH4)2S 叔丁醇饱和溶液是较为理想的(100)GaAs表面钝化液。  相似文献

The spectral characteristic of an optically pumped NH3 molecules FIR laser has been studied by a F-P interferometer and a Michelson interferometer. It was verified that when NH3 molecules were pumped by CO2-9R(16) line, a emission by Raman transitions of two photons was produced. When the gas pressure of NH3 increased, the interaction of the Raman transitions rose, then the emission was enhanced and the width of spectral lines were broadened. We exploited Nd(3+) laser emission at 1061.9 nm ((4)F(3/2)?(4)I(11/2) channel) in a self-chi((2)) active GdAl(3)(BO(3))(4):Nd(3+) laser crystal. UV radiation was obtained from a 1.8% yield from self-sum-frequency mixing: 1/pump + 1/1061.9 = 1/UV, during pumping in the Nd(3+) (4)G(5/2)-(2)G(7/2) levels near 588 nm. The UV tunability had a range of 378-382 nm. We have demonstrated, for the first time to our knowledge, generation of coherent IR radiation from a self-difference-frequency mixing laser: 1/pump - 1/1061.9 = 1/IR. We got a 0.5% yield and tunability in the 1305-1365-nm range.  相似文献

A compact source of stable cw single-frequency radiation at 473 nm has been realized by second-harmonic generation of a diode-pumped miniature Nd:YAG ring laser operating on the (4)F(3/2) - (4)I(9/2) laser transition. By use of potassium niobate (KNbO(3)), single-longitudinal-mode output powers of 500 mW cw with high stability and maximum optical-to-optical conversion efficiencies >81% are achieved. An external semimonolithic cavity permits mode-hop-free frequency tuning of blue radiation over as much as 20 GHz.  相似文献

We present an experimental and theoretical study of atom-molecule collisions in a mixture of cold, trapped N atoms and NH molecules at a temperature of ~600 mK. We measure a small N+NH trap loss rate coefficient of k(loss)(N+NH)=9(5)(3)×10(-13) cm(3)?s(-1). Accurate quantum scattering calculations based on ab initio interaction potentials are in agreement with experiment and indicate the magnetic dipole interaction to be the dominant loss mechanism. Our theory further indicates the ratio of N+NH elastic-to-inelastic collisions remains large (>100) into the mK regime.  相似文献

Mid-infrared radiation near 2.8 mum was generated by difference-frequency generation in an 80-mm-long periodically poled Ti:LiNbO(3) channel waveguide by pump radiation near 1.55 mum (tunable external-cavity laser) and a signal radiation of 3.391 mum (HeNe laser). We obtained a normalized conversion efficiency of 105% W(-1) , which is to our knowledge the highest value ever reported.  相似文献

In this paper we examine the behavior of small cluster of atoms in a short (10-50 fs) very intense hard X-ray (10 keV) pulse. We use numerical modeling based on the non-relativistic classical equation of motion. Quantum processes are taken into account by the respective cross-sections. We show that there is a Coulomb explosion, which has a different dynamics than one finds in classical laser driven cluster explosions. 运用量子系统的密度矩阵理论,采用迭代法计算了光泵NH3分子远红外超辐射和腔式激光的频谱特性和相应的最佳工作气压。理论计算表明相对于超辐射方式,光泵腔式NH3分子远红外激光具有宽带辐射以及纵向调谐特性,且总的输出光强在一定条件下得到提高,最佳工作气压也较低。在实验上对TEACO2-10R(8)和9R(16)泵浦的N 红外超辐射和腔式激光器产生的远红外辐射进行了测量。结果表明理论计算与实验结果相符。  相似文献

Construction details and operating characteristics are reported for a pulsed dye laser oscillator followed by a three-stage dye laser amplifier. The system is excited with 220 mJ of the second or120 mJ of the third harmonic radiation of a Nd-YAG laser. With Rhodamine dyes the output energy exceeds 55 mJ (9 MW peak power). Coumarin dyes provide pulses of more than 15 mJ (3 MW). Spectral narrowing to less than 260 MHz or 2.7 × 10 -4 nm at 565 nm is achieved by a single intracavity etalon of 37.5 GHz free spectral range. Gas pressure tuning allows a continuous linear variation of the laser frequency over more than 3.9 × 103 GHz (4 nm at 565 nm). The frequency doubled laser output provides tunable UV light of narrow bandwidth (1.4 × 10-4 nm) and of peak powers exceeding 3 MW.  相似文献

By photodissociation ZnI2 with 193 nm (ArF) laser radiation, the rate constants for quenching of the upper and lower energy levels of the ZnI (B → X) laser by ZnI2 have been measured to be (1.7 ± 0.2) × 10-9 and (1.4 ± 0.4) × 10-9 cm3 s-1, respectively. Although the former rate constant was found to be laser intensity-dependent for I ? 105 W cm-2, the ZnI(B) state radiative lifetime was determined to be 26 ± 4 ns. Also, the small signal gain coefficient, g0, of this molecular laser has a peak value of ? 15% cm-1 at λ ? 602 nm and exceeds 5% cm-1 for 591 nm ≤ λ ≤ 608 nm for a potential tuning range of at least 170 Å.  相似文献

The output intensity of optically pumped NH3 molecules far-infrared laser (NH3-OPFIRL) was calculated by solving the density matrix equation and by means of iteration method. Meanwhile, the spectral characteristic of AC Stark splitting was studied. Finally, the F-P interferogram of NH3-OPFIRL pumped by CO2-10R(8) line was measured. A laser magnetic resonance spectrometer has been used to discover and subsequently measure a far-infrared laser emission: the 166.6-micron line of CH2F2, optically pumped by the 9P24 CO2 laser. By recording spectra for the NH radical, the frequency of this laser emission has been determined to be 1799950±13 MHz. Spectra for the NH radical were also recorded with two other far-infrared laser emissions: the 160.4-micron line of N2H4 (9P46 CO2 pump) and the 328.6-micron line of 13CH3OH (9P12 CO2 pump). From the NH spectra, a discrepancy of 2.1 GHz with the previously measured laser frequency was identified for the 160.4-micron line. A three-laser heterodyne system was then used to remeasure the frequency to be 1868475.5±0.5 MHz. The NH spectra were also used to determine the frequency for the 328.6-micron line to be 912366±7 MHz, in agreement with the value previously calculated from the Rydberg–Ritz combination principle. Valence band structures in various phases of an organometal spin-crossover complex [Fe(2-pic) 3 ]Cl 2 - EtOH have been measured by means of photoelectron spectroscopy based on the combination of synchrotron radiation and laser light. The valence band structure showed the remarkable change due to the photo-induced (PI) phase transition (PIPT) at low-temperatures (LTs) as well as the thermally induced phase transition (TIPT), but the structure of the PI phase was very different from that of the high-temperature (HT) phase. The DV-X f calculation based on the [Fe-(NH 3 ) 6 ] octahedron was also carried out for comparison, indicating that the electronic structure originating from Fe and N ions is closely related to the PIPT.  相似文献

We have measured the even isotope structure of the 6p 3P0-9s 3S1 transition in mercury at 246.5 nm using saturated absorption spectroscopy with radiation produced as the sum frequency of a 363.8 nm argon ion laser and an LD700 ring dye laser in ADP. This is the first use of cw sum-frequency mixing in nonlinear laser spectroscopy in the ultraviolet. No previous cw Doppler-free measurements have been reported at wavelenghts below 294.5 nm  相似文献
