Assume that X is a real Banach space with uniformly normal structure and C is a nonempty closed convex subset of X. We show that a κ-uniformly Lipschitzian semigroup of nonlinear self-mappings of C admits a common fixed point if the semigroup has a bounded orbit and if κ is appropriately greater than one. This result applies, in particular, to the framework of uniformly convex Banach spaces.  相似文献

Let C be a nonempty closed convex subset of a 2-uniformly convex and uniformly smooth Banach space E and {A_n}_(n∈N) be a family of monotone and Lipschitz continuos mappings of C into E~*. In this article, we consider the improved gradient method by the hybrid method in mathematical programming [10] for solving the variational inequality problem for{A_n} and prove strong convergence theorems. And we get several results which improve the well-known results in a real 2-uniformly convex and uniformly smooth Banach space and a real Hilbert space.  相似文献

Let EE be a uniformly convex Banach space which satisfies Opial’s condition or whose norm is Fréchet differentiable. Recently, Takahashi and Shimoji [W. Takahashi, K. Shimoji, Convergence theorems for nonexpansive mappings and feasibility problems, Math. Comput. Modelling 32 (2000) 1463–1471] introduced an iterative scheme given by finitely many nonexpansive mappings in EE and proved weak convergence theorems which are connected with the problem of image recovery. In this paper we introduce a new iterative scheme which includes their iterative scheme as a special case. Under the assumption that EE is a reflexive Banach space whose norm is uniformly Gâteaux differentiable and which has a weakly continuous duality mapping, we prove strong convergence theorems which are connected with the problem of image recovery. Using the established results, we consider the problem of finding a common fixed point of finitely many nonexpansive mappings.  相似文献

Let X be a compact first countable space. In this paper we show that the set of isometries of C(X) that are involutions is algebraically reflexive. As a consequence of a recent work of Botelho and Jamison this leads to the conclusion that the set of generalized bi-circular projections on C(X) is also algebraically reflexive. We also consider these questions for the space C(X,E) where E is a uniformly convex Banach space.  相似文献

In this paper we deal with fixed point computational problems by strongly convergent methods involving strictly pseudocontractive mappings in smooth Banach spaces. First, we prove that the S-iteration process recently introduced by Sahu in [14] converges strongly to a unique fixed point of a mapping T, where T is κ-strongly pseudocontractive mapping from a nonempty, closed and convex subset C of a smooth Banach space into itself. It is also shown that the hybrid steepest descent method converges strongly to a unique solution of a variational inequality problem with respect to a finite family of λi-strictly pseudocontractive mappings from C into itself. Our results extend and improve some very recent theorems in fixed point theory and variational inequality problems. Particularly, the results presented here extend some theorems of Reich (1980) [1] and Yamada (2001) [15] to a general class of λ-strictly pseudocontractive mappings in uniformly smooth Banach spaces.  相似文献

The goal of this article is to study the relations among monotonicity properties of real Banach lattices and the corresponding convexity properties in the complex Banach lattices. We introduce the moduli of monotonicity of Banach lattices. We show that a Banach lattice E is uniformly monotone if and only if its complexification EC is uniformly complex convex. We also prove that a uniformly monotone Banach lattice has finite cotype. In particular, we show that a Banach lattice is of cotype q for some 2?q<∞ if and only if there is an equivalent lattice norm under which it is uniformly monotone and its complexification is q-uniformly PL-convex. We also show that a real Köthe function space E is strictly (respectively uniformly) monotone and a complex Banach space X is strictly (respectively uniformly) complex convex if and only if Köthe-Bochner function space E(X) is strictly (respectively uniformly) complex convex.  相似文献

We consider a sequence {xn} generated by the hybrid method by generalized projection in mathematical programming. In this paper we propose a new modified viscosity approximation method for approximating common fixed points for a countable family of nonexpansive mappings in a Banach space. We prove strong convergence theorems for a countable family nonexpansive mappings in a reflexive Banach space with uniformly Gateaux differentiable norm under some control conditions. These results improve and extend the results of Jong Soo Jung [J.S. Jung, Convergence on composite iterative schemes for nonexpansive mappings in Banach spaces, Fixed Point Theory and Appl. 2008 (2008) 14 pp., Article ID 167535]. Further, we apply our result to the problem of finding a zero of an accretive operator and extend the results of Kim and Xu [T.H. Kim, H.K. Xu, Strong convergence of modified Mann iterations, Nonlinear Anal. 61 (2005) 51-60], Ceng, et al. [L.-C. Ceng, A.R. Khan, Q.H. Ansari, J.-C, Yao, Strong convergence of composite iterative schemes for zeros of m-accretive operators in Banach space, Nonlinear Anal. 70 (2009)1830-1840] and Chen and Zhu [R. Chen, Z. We study the strong convergence of two viscosity iteration processes for pseudo-contractive semigroup and for ??-strongly pseudo-contractive mapping in uniformly convex Banach spaces with uniformly Gâteaux differentiable norm. As special cases, we get strong convergence of two viscosity iteration processes for approximating common fixed points of nonexpansive semigroups in certain Banach spaces. In this paper, we prove that the generalized Mann and Ishikawa processes converge weakly to a fixed point of T. A new iteration process is introduced and proved to converge strongly to a common fixed point for a finite family of generalized Lipschitz nonlinear mappings in a real reflexive Banach space EE with a uniformly Gâteaux differentiable norm if at least one member of the family is pseudo-contractive. It is also proved that a slight modification of the process converges to a common zero for a finite family of generalized Lipschitz accretive operators defined on EE. Results for nonexpansive families are obtained as easy corollaries. Finally, the new iteration process and the method of proof are of independent interest.  相似文献

Very recently, Yao, Chen and Yao [20] proposed a hybrid viscosity approximation method, which combines the viscosity approximation method and the Mann iteration method. Under the convergence of one parameter sequence to zero, they derived a strong convergence theorem in a uniformly smooth Banach space. In this paper, under the convergence of no parameter sequence to zero, we prove the strong convergence of the sequence generated by their method to a fixed point of a nonexpansive mapping, which solves a variational inequality. An appropriate example such that all conditions of this result are satisfied and their condition βn→0 is not satisfied is provided. Furthermore, we also give a weak convergence theorem for their method involving a nonexpansive mapping in a Hilbert space.  相似文献

In this paper, we prove a strong convergence theorem by the hybrid method for a countable family of relatively nonexpansive mappings in a Banach space. We also establish a new control condition for the sequence of mappings {Tn} which is weaker than the control condition in Lemma 3.1 of Aoyama et al. [K. Aoyama, Y. Kimura, W. Takahashi and M. Toyoda, Approximation of common fixed points of a countable family of nonexpansive mappings in a Banach space, Nonlinear Anal. 67 (2007) 2350-2360]. Moreover, we apply our results for finding a common fixed point of two relatively nonexpansive mappings in a Banach space and an element of the set of solutions of an equilibrium problem in a Banach space, respectively.
