The unsteady flow of a viscoelastic fluid with the fractional Maxwell model, induced by a constantly accelerating plate between two side walls perpendicular to the plate, is investigated by means of the integral transforms. Exact solutions for the velocity field are presented under integral and series forms in terms of the derivatives of generalized Mittag–Leffler functions. The corresponding solutions for Maxwell fluids are obtained as limiting cases for β → 1. In the absence of the side walls, all solutions that have been determined reduce to those corresponding to the motion over an infinite plate.   相似文献

The unsteady flow of a Maxwell fluid induced by a constantly accelerating plate between two side walls perpendicular to the plate is studied. Exact solutions for the velocity field are established by means of the Fourier sine transforms. The adequate tangential stresses are also determined. The similar solutions for a Newtonian fluid are obtained as limiting cases of our solutions. In the absence of the side walls, the similar solutions for the unsteady flow over an infinite flat plate are recovered. Finally, for comparison, the velocity field in the middle of the channel and the shear stresses at the bottom wall and on the side walls are plotted for different values of the material constants.   相似文献

In this paper, we establish the starting solutions for oscillating motions of an Oldroyd-B fluid between two side walls perpendicular to a plane wall. The expressions for the velocity field and the associated tangential stress at the bottom wall are obtained, presented under integral and series form. These satisfy all imposed initial and boundary conditions. The obtained solutions are graphically analyzed for the variations of interesting flow parameters. In the absence of side walls, all solutions that have been obtained reduce to those corresponding to the motion over an infinite plate. Moreover, the obtained solutions can be specialized to give similar solutions for Maxwell, second grade and Newtonian fluids performing the same motions.  相似文献

This paper deals with the 3D flow of a generalized Oldroyd-B fluid due to a constant pressure gradient between two side walls perpendicular to a plate. The fractional calculus approach is used to establish the constitutive relationship of the non-Newtonian fluid model. Exact analytic solutions for the velocity and stress fields, in terms of the Fox H-function, are established by means of the finite Fourier sine transform and the Laplace transform. Solutions similar to those for ordinary Oldroyd-B fluid as well as those for Maxwell and second-grade fluids are also obtained as limiting cases of the results presented. Furthermore, 3D figures for velocity and shear stress fields are presented for the first time for certain values of the parameters, and the associated transport characteristics are analyzed and discussed.  相似文献

The velocity field and the shear stresses corresponding to the motion of a second grade fluid between two side walls, induced by an infinite plate that applies an accelerated shear stress to the fluid, are determined by means of the integral transforms. The obtained solutions, presented under integral form in term of the solutions corresponding to the flow due to a constant shear on the boundary, satisfy all imposed initial and boundary conditions. In the absence of the side walls, they reduce to the similar solutions over an infinite plate. The Newtonian solutions are obtained as limiting cases of the general solutions. The influence of the side walls on the fluid motion as well as a comparison between the two models is shown by graphical illustrations.  相似文献

The velocity field and the adequate tangential stress that is induced by the flow due to a constantly accelerating plate in an Oldroyd-B fluid, are determined by means of Fourier sine transforms. The solutions corresponding to a Maxwell, Second grade and Navier–Stokes fluid appear as limiting cases of the solutions obtained here. However, in marked contrast to the solution for a Navier–Stokes fluid, in the case of an Oldroyd-B fluid oscillations are set up which decay exponentially with time.  相似文献

The unsteady flow of an Oldroyd-B fluid due to an infinite flat plate, subject to a translation motion of linear time-dependent velocity in its plane, is studied by means of the Laplace transform. The velocity field and the associated tangential stress corresponding to the flow induced by the constantly accelerating plate as well as those produced by the impulsive motion of the plate are obtained as special cases. The solutions that have been determined, in all accordance with the solutions established using the Fourier transform, reduce to those for a Newtonian fluid as a limiting case. The similar solutions for a Maxwell fluid are also obtained.  相似文献

This paper presents the exact, explicit solution for the transient motion of a circular plate surface bonded by two piezoelectric layers, based on Kirchhoff plate model. The distribution of eclectic potential along the thickness direction is simulated by a quadratic function so that the Maxwell static electricity equation is satisfied. The piezoelectric layers are electrically grounded over the edge and electrodes at the two surfaces of the piezoelectric layers are shortly connected. The differential equations of motion are solved for simply supported and clamped boundary conditions. The solutions are expressed by elementary Bessel functions and obtained via exact inverse Laplace transform.  相似文献

This article considers the oscillatory flows of a generalized Burgers’ fluid on an infinite insulating plate when the fluid is permeated by a transverse magnetic field. The effects of Hall current are taken into account. Modified Darcy’s law for a generalized Burgers’ fluid has been used to discuss the flows in a porous medium. The governing time dependent equations in a rotating frame are first developed and then solved for the two problems. The influence of various emerging parameters is discussed through various graphs. The solutions for the Newtonian, second grade, Maxwell, Oldroyd-B and Burgers’ fluids can be obtained from our solutions as the limiting cases.  相似文献

This paper presents the new exact analytical solutions for magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) flows of an Oldroyd-B fluid. The explicit expressions for the velocity field and the associated tangential stress are established by using the Laplace transform method. Three characteristic examples: (i) flow due to impulsive motion of plate, (ii) flow due to uniformly accelerated plate, and (iii) flow due to non-uniformly accelerated plate are considered. The solutions for the hydrodynamic flows are special cases of the presented solutions. Moreover, the similar solutions corresponding to Maxwell and Newtonian fluids in the presence as well as absence of a magnetic field appear as the limiting cases of our solutions. The influences of the exerted magnetic field on the flow are also graphically presented and discussed. In particular, graphical results for the Oldroyd-B fluid are compared with those of a Newtonian fluid.  相似文献

This paper deals with the analytical solutions for generalized Maxwell fluid flow due to oscillatory and constantly accelerating plate. The fractional calculus approach is used to establish the constitutive relationship of fluid model. Exact solutions are presented for the velocity field and the corresponding shear stress in series forms in terms of generalized G and R functions by using the discrete inverse Laplace transform method.  相似文献

Analytical expressions for the velocity fields corresponding to the motions of an Oldroyd-B fluid due to oscillations of an infinite flat plate as well as those induced by an oscillating pressure gradient and pressure jumps are determined by means of the Fourier sine transform. The corresponding solutions for a Maxwell and a Newtonian fluid appear as limiting cases of the solutions established here. Relevant physical properties of the flows and their dependence on material and geometry parameters are discussed.  相似文献

This work is concerned with the two-dimensional boundary layer flow of an upper-convected Maxwell (UCM) fluid in a channel with chemical reaction. The walls of the channel are porous. Employing similarity transformations the governing non-linear partial differential equations are reduced into non-linear ordinary differential equations. The resulting ordinary differential equations are solved analytically using homotopy analysis method (HAM). Expressions for series solutions are derived. The convergence of the obtained series solutions are shown explicitly. The effects of Reynold’s number Re, Deborah number De, Schmidt number Sc and chemical reaction parameter γ on the velocity and the concentration fields are shown through graphs and discussed.  相似文献

The velocity field and the associated shear stress corresponding to the torsional oscillatory flow of a generalized Maxwell fluid, between two infinite coaxial circular cylinders, are determined by means of the Laplace and Hankel transforms. Initially, the fluid and cylinders are at rest and after some time both cylinders suddenly begin to oscillate around their common axis with different angular frequencies of their velocities. The solutions that have been obtained are presented under integral and series forms in terms of generalized G and R functions. Moreover, these solutions satisfy the governing differential equation and all imposed initial and boundary conditions. The respective solutions for the motion between the cylinders, when one of them is at rest, can be obtained from our general solutions. Furthermore, the corresponding solutions for the similar flow of ordinary Maxwell fluid are also obtained as limiting cases of our general solutions. At the end, flows corresponding to the ordinary Maxwell and generalized Maxwell fluids are shown and compared graphically by plotting velocity profiles at different values of time and some important results are remarked.  相似文献

We derive the macroscopic Einstein—Maxwell equations up to the second-order terms, in the interaction for systems with dominating electromagnetic interactions between particles (e.g., radiation-dominated cosmological plasma in the expanding Universe before the recombination moment). The ensemble averaging of the microscopic Einstein and Maxwell equations and of the Liouville equations for the random functions of each type of particle leads to a closed system of equations consisting of the macroscopic Einstein and Maxwell equations and the kinetic equations for one-particle distribution functions for each type of particle. The macroscopic Einstein equations for a system of electromagnetically and gravitationally interacting particles differ from the classical Einstein equations in having additional terms in the lefthand side due to the interaction. These terms are given by a symmetric rank-two traceless tensor with zero divergence. Explicitly, these terms are represented as momentum-space integrals of the expressions containing one-particle distribution functions for each type of particle and have much in common with similar terms in the left-hand side of the macroscopic Einstein equations previously obtained for a system of self-gravitating particles. The macroscopic Maxwell equations for a system of electromagnetically and gravitationally interacting particles also differ from the classical Maxwell equations in having additional terms in the left-hand side due to simultaneous effects described by general relativity and the interaction effects. In this paper, we give a rigorous mathematical analysis for a third order nonlinear boundary value problem. The boundary value problem can be applied to steady free convection around a vertical impermeable flat plate in a fluid-saturated porous medium, or steady flow of a power-law fluid induced by impermeable stretching walls in the frame of boundary layer approximation. We establish the uniqueness, existence and nonexistence of (normal) concave solutions or generalized concave solutions to the problem, and obtain some results about boundedness and asymptotic behavior of the (normal) concave solution or the generalized concave solution.  相似文献

The aim of this paper is to study multidimensional Euler–Maxwell equations for plasmas with short momentum relaxation time. The convergence for the smooth solutions to the compressible Euler–Maxwell equations toward the solutions to the smooth solutions to the drift–diffusion equations is proved by means of the Maxwell iteration, as the relaxation time tends to zero. Meanwhile, the formal derivation of the latter from the former is justified.  相似文献
