Piecewise Absolutely Continuous Cocycles Over Irrational Rotations   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
For an irrational rotation of the circle group T=R/Z and apiecewise absolutely continuous function f:TR, the unitary operatorVh(x)=e2if(x)h(x+) on L2(T) is studied. It is shown that iff has a single discontinuity with non-integer jump then V is-weakly mixing for some with 0<||<1. In particular Vhas continuous singular spectrum. The property of -weak mixing(with possible change of the value of , 0<||<1) holdsfor all irrational rotations and, given , is stable under perturbationsof f by functions with sufficiently small O(1/n)-norm. On theother hand, there exists a piecewise linear function f withtwo non-integer jumps such that the spectrum of V is continuoussingular for one value of and Lebesgue for another.  相似文献

 We prove that for each minimal rotation on a compact metric group and each topological cocycle , either φ is a topological coboundary, or is topologically ergodic, or the partition into orbits is the decomposition of into minimal components. As an application, we generalize a result by Glasner and show that if is a minimal topologically weakly mixing flow, then whenever φ is universally ergodic the minimal map

We study extensions of higher-rank Abelian TNS actions (i.e. hyperbolic and with a special structure of the stable distributions) by compact connected Lie groups. We show that up to a constant, there are only finitely many cohomology classes. We also show the existence of cocycles over higher-rank Abelian TNS actions that are not cohomologous to constant cocycles. This is in contrast to earlier results, showing that real valued cocycles, or small Lie group valued cocycles, over higher-rank Abelian actions are cohomologous to constants.  相似文献

Let be random variables as functions of β in the probability space [0,1) with the Lebesgue measure, where is considered to be an unknown parameter which we want to estimate from the observation ξ :=ξ1, ξ2...ξ m . Let an observation ξ be given, which is a finite Sturmian sequence. We determine the likelihood function P α(ξ) as a function of parameter α, and obtain the maximum likelihood estimator as the relative frequency of 1s in a minimal cycle of ξ, where a factor η of ξ is called a minimal cycle if ξ is a factor of η and η has the minimum length among them. We also obtain a minimum sufficient statistics. The sample mean (ξ1 + ξ2 + ... + ξ m )/m which is an unbiased estimator of α is not admissible if m=6 or m ≥ 8 since it is not based on the minimum sufficient statistics.  相似文献

We compute covering numbers associated to the set of partial sums of orthogonal series by means of irrational rotations. The device is a new metric inequality linking the increment's norm of partial sums to the one of ergodic averages of rotations acting on a suitable L 2-element of the torus. This allows to compute the number of balls covering the whole set of partial sums, by means of rotations.  相似文献

We study the basis property of systems of exponentials with frequencies belonging to ‘simple quasicrystals’. We show that a diophantine condition is necessary and sufficient for such a system to be a Riesz basis in L 2 on a finite union of intervals. For the proof we extend to BMO a theorem of Kesten about the discrepancy of irrational rotations of the circle.  相似文献

We consider the motion of an asymmetric gyrostat under the attraction of a uniform Newtonian field. It is supposed that the center of mass lies along one of the principal axes of inertia, while a rotor spins around a different axis of inertia. For this problem, we obtain the possible permanent rotations, that is, the equilibria of the system. The Lyapunov stability of these permanent rotations is analyzed by means of the Energy–Casimir method and necessary and sufficient conditions are derived, proving that there exist permanent stable rotations when the gyrostat is oriented in any direction of the space. The geometry of the gyrostat and the value of the gyrostatic momentum are relevant in order to get stable permanent rotations. Moreover, it seems that the necessary conditions are also sufficient, but this fact can only be proved partially.  相似文献

Let k be a field and A n (ω) be the Taft's n 2-dimensional Hopf algebras. When n is odd, the Drinfeld quantum double D(A n (ω)) of A n (ω) is a Ribbon Hopf algebra. In the previous articles, we constructed an n 4-dimensional Hopf algebra H n (p, q) which is isomorphic to D(A n (ω)) if p ≠ 0 and q = ω?1, and studied the finite dimensional representations of H n (1, q). We showed that the basic algebra of any nonsimple block of H n (1, q) is independent of n. In this article, we examine the infinite representations of H 2(1, ? 1), or equivalently of H n (1, q)?D(A n (ω)) for any n ≥ 2. We investigate the indecomposable and algebraically compact modules over H 2(1, ? 1), describe the structures of these modules and classify them under the elementary equivalence.  相似文献

The polling network considered here consists of a finite collection of stations visited successively by a single server who is following a Markovian routing scheme. At every visit of a station a positive random number of the customers present at the start of the visit are served, whereupon the server takes a positive random time to walk to the station to be visited next. The network receives arrivals of customer groups at Poisson instants, and all customers wait until served, whereupon they depart from the network. Necessary and sufficient conditions are derived for the server to be able to cope with the traffic. For the proof a multidimensional imbedded Markov chain is studied.  相似文献

The quantum doubles of a certain class of rank two pointed Hopf algebras are considered. The socle of the tensor product of two such modules is computed, and formulas similar to the ones in [4 Chen , H. X. ( 2000 ). Irreducible representations of a class of quantum doubles . J. The quantum stochastic differential equation is considered on a unital C*-algebra, with separablenoise dimension space. When a Fock-adapted Feller cocycle on a C*-algebra is regular,completely positive and contractive, it possesses a stochasticgenerator that is necessarily completely bounded. Necessaryand sufficient conditions are given, in the form of a sequenceof identities, for a completely bounded map to generate a weaklymultiplicative cocycle. These are derived from a product formulafor iterated quantum stochastic integrals. In this work we analyze p-groups of class 2 G and H, with same rational group algebras. We prove that if QG = QH, then their commutators are equal and the centers, 𝒵(G) and 𝒵(H), have their orders preserved. We apply our results to Frattini Central p-groups, and we present an example of two groups of order p 7, with no isomorphic centers and different central cyclic components intersecting the cyclic components of the respective commutators groups.  相似文献
