Carleman estimates and unique continuation property for the anisotropic differential-operator equations

The unique continuation theorems for the anisotropic partial differential-operator equations with variable coeffcients in Banach-valued Lp-spaces are studied.To obtain the uniform maximal regularity and the Carleman type estimates for parameter depended differential-operator equations,the suffcient conditions are founded.By using these facts,the unique continuation properties are established.In the application part,the unique continuation properties and Carleman estimates for finite or infinite systems of quasielliptic partial differential equations are studied.

On some properties of the decoding of admissible words for primitive substitutions

A number of properties of decoding for admissible sequences are studied, some of which were studied earlier, and some are new. Strong solutions to stochastic Volterra equations

In this paper stochastic Volterra equations admitting exponentially bounded resolvents are studied. After obtaining convergence of resolvents, some properties for stochastic convolutions are studied. Our main results provide sufficient conditions for strong solutions to stochastic Volterra equations.     

Impulsive differential equations with Gamma distributed moments of impulses and p-moment exponential stability

Differential equations with impulses at random moments are set up and investigated. We study the case of Gamma distributed random moments of impulses. Several properties of solutions are studied based on properties of Gammma distributions. Some sufficient conditions for p-moment exponential stability of the solutions are given.

EOL and ETOL array languages

In this paper we study the families of ETOL and EOL array languages. Standard forms for ETOL and EOL array systems are defined and closure properties of the families are studied. Relations of these families with other developmental array languages and other array languages are studied.     

Mappings by the solutions of second-order elliptic equations

The properties of mappings by the solutions of second-order elliptic partial differential equations in the plane are studied. We obtain conditions on a function, continuous on the unit circle, that are sufficient for the solution of the Dirichlet problem in the open unit disk for the given equation with the given boundary function to be a homeomorphism between the open unit disk and a Jordan simply connected domain. The properties of the zeros of the solutions of the given equations are also studied. In particular, an analog of the main theorem of algebra is proved for polynomial solutions.

Exponential distributions on semigroups

Three fundamental characterizations of the standard exponential distribution on [0, ) are the remaining life, memoryless and constant failure properties. Analogs of these properties are studied for distributions on a class of semigroups in which the semigroup operation replaces addition, a compatible partial order replaces the ordinary order, and a left-invariant measure replaces Lebesgue measure. Partial characterizations of exponential distributions on such semigroups are obtained and the semigroup formulation provides new characterizations of certain aging properties studied in reliability-increasing failure rate, new better than used, and increasing failure rate average.     

Analysis of reliability systems via Gini-type index

Different strategies of reliability theory for the analysis of coherent systems have been studied by various researchers. Here, the Gini-type index is utilized as an applicable tool for the study and comparison of the ageing properties of complex systems. A new stochastic order in terms of Gini-type index is introduced to compare the speed of ageing of components and systems. The parallel-series and series-parallel systems with shared components are studied by their corresponding Gini-type indexes. Also, the generalization of Gini-type index for the multidimensional case is discussed, and is used to compare components lifetimes properties in the presence of other dependent components. It is shown that the ageing properties of a component lifetime can differ when the other components are working or have already failed. Numerous illustrative examples are given for better intuition of Gini-type and generalized Gini-type indexes throughout the paper.

Generic properties of multifunctions: Application to differential inclusions

We prove that almost all in Baire sense Caratheodory multifunctions in finite dimensional space are Kamke continuous. Further the main properties of differential inclusions with Kamke and one sided Kamke right-hand sides are studied.As a corollary we prove that for almost all optimal control problems, the relaxation and relaxation stability properties hold.

Some remarks on distances between fuzzy numbers

In this paper we consider different approaches to assigning distances between fuzzy numbers. A pseudo-metric on the set of fuzzy numbers arising from the idea of the value of a fuzzy number is described, and some of its topological properties are noted. Reducing functions are used to define a family of metrics on the space of fuzzy numbers; some convergent properties for these metrics are illustrated. Finally, a fuzzy distance between fuzzy numbers is introduced and its basic properties are studied.
