LetX be a projective scheme over a noetherian base schemeS, and letF be a coherent sheaf onX. For any coherent sheaf ε onX, consider the set-valued contravariant functor Hom(ε,F)S-schemes, defined by Hom(ε,F) (T)= Hom(ε T ,F T) where ε T andF T are the pull-backs of ε andF toX T =X x S T. A basic result of Grothendieck ([EGA], III 7.7.8, 7.7.9) says that ifF is flat over S then Komε,F) is representable for all ε. We prove the converse of the above, in fact, we show that ifL is a relatively ample line bundle onX over S such that the functor Hom(L -n ,F) is representable for infinitely many positive integersn, thenF is flat overS. As a corollary, takingX =S, it follows that ifF is a coherent sheaf on S then the functorTH°(T, F t) on the category ofS-schemes is representable if and only ifF is locally free onS. This answers a question posed by Angelo Vistoli. The techniques we use involve the proof of flattening stratification, together with the methods used in proving the author’s earlier result (see [N1]) that the automorphism group functor of a coherent sheaf onS is representable if and only if the sheaf is locally free.  相似文献

LetX be a rearrangement-invariant Banach function space onR n and letV 1 X be the Sobolev space of functions whose gradient belongs toX. We give necessary and sufficient conditions onX under whichV 1 X is continuously embedded into BMO or intoL . In particular, we show thatL n, ∞ is the largest rearrangement-invariant spaceX such thatV 1 X is continuously embedded into BMO and, similarly,L n, 1 is the largest rearrangement-invariant spaceX such thatV 1 X is continuously embedded intoL . We further show thatV 1 X is a subset of VMO if and only if every function fromX has an absolutely continuous norm inL n, ∞ . A compact inclusion ofV 1 X intoC 0 is characterized as well.  相似文献

For functions onS d−1 (the unit sphere inR d) and, in particular, forfL p(S d−1), we define new simple moduli of smoothness. We relate different orders of these moduli, and we also relate these moduli to best approximation by spherical harmonics of order smaller thann. Our new moduli lead to sharper results than those now available for the known moduli onL p(S d−1). Supported by NSERC Grant A4816 of Canada.  相似文献

LetS be a topological semigroup andAP(S) the space of continous complex almost periodic functions onS. We obtain characterizations of compact and weakly compact operators from a Banach spaceX into AP(S). For this we use the almost periodic compactification ofS obtained through uniform spaces. For a bounded linear operatorT fromX into AP(S), letT 5, be the translate ofT bys inS defined byT 5(x)=(Tx) 5 . We define topologies on the space of bounded linear operators fromX into AP(S) and obtain the necessary and sufficient conditions for an operatorT to be compact or weakly compact in terms of the uniform continuity of the mapsT 5. IfS is a Hausdorff topological semigroup, we also obtain characterizations of compact and weakly compact multipliers on AP(S) in terms of the uniform continuity of the map S→μs, where μs denotes the unique vector measure corresponding to the operatorT 5.  相似文献

Consider the catalytic super-Brownian motion X ϱ (reactant) in ℝ d , d≤3, which branching rates vary randomly in time and space and in fact are given by an ordinary super-Brownian motion ϱ (catalyst). Our main object of study is the collision local time L = L [ϱ,Xϱ] (d(s,x) )of catalyst and reactant. It determines the covariance measure in themartingale problem for X ϱ and reflects the occurrence of “hot spots” of reactant which can be seen in simulations of X ϱ. In dimension 2, the collision local time is absolutely continuous in time, L(d(s,x) ) = ds K s (dx). At fixed time s, the collision measures K s (dx) of ϱ s and X s ϱ have carrying Hausdorff dimension 2. Spatial marginal densities of L exist, and, via self-similarity, enter in the long-term randomergodic limit of L (diffusiveness of the 2-dimensional model). We alsocompare some of our results with the case of super-Brownian motions withdeterministic time-independent catalysts. Fix integersg, k andt witht>0,k≥3 andtk<g/2−1. LetX be a generalk-gonal curve of genusg andR∈Pic k (X) the uniqueg k 1 onX. SetL:=K X⊗(R *)⊗t.L is very ample. Leth L:XP(H 0(X, L)*) be the associated embedding. Here we prove thath L(X) is projectively normal. Ifk≥4 andtk<g/2−2 the curveh L(X) is scheme-theoretically cut out by quadrics. LetX be an integral projective curve andL ∃ Pica(X),M ∃ Picb (X) with h1(X, L)= h1(X, M) = 0 andL, M general. Here we study the rank of the multiplication map μ L,M :H 0(X,L)⊗H 0(X,M)→H 0(X,LM). We also study the same problem whenL andM are rank 1 torsion free sheaves onX. Most of our results are forX with only nodes as singularities.  相似文献

For a “generic” submanifoldS of a complex manifoldX, we show that there exists a hypersurfaceMS which has the same number of negative (or positive) Levi-eigenvalues asS at one prescribed conormal (cf. also [9]). When ranksL S is constant, thenM may be found such thatL M andL S have the same number of negative eigenvalues at any common conormal. Assuming the existence of a hypersurfaceM with the above property, we then discuss the link between complex submanifolds ofS whose tangent plane belongs to the null-space of the Levi-formL S ofS (of all complex submanifolds whenL S is semi-definite), and complex submanifolds ofT S * X. As an application we give a simple result on propagation of microanalyticity for CR-hyperfunctions along complex,L S -null, curves (cf. [3]).  相似文献

Given aL 1(ℝ) and A the generator of an L 1-integrable family of bounded and linear operators defined on a Banach space X, we prove the existence of almost automorphic solution to the semilinear integral equation u(t)= −∞ t a(ts)[Au(s)+f(s,u(s))]ds for each f:ℝ×XX almost automorphic in t, uniformly in xX, and satisfying diverse Lipschitz type conditions. In the scalar case, we prove that aL 1(ℝ) positive, nonincreasing and log-convex is already sufficient.  相似文献

Let ( Y,d,dl )\left( {\mathcal{Y},d,d\lambda } \right) be (ℝ n , |·|, μ), where |·| is the Euclidean distance, μ is a nonnegative Radon measure on ℝ n satisfying the polynomial growth condition, or the Gauss measure metric space (ℝ n , |·|, d λ ), or the space (S, d, ρ), where S ≡ ℝ n ⋉ ℝ+ is the (ax + b)-group, d is the left-invariant Riemannian metric and ρ is the right Haar measure on S with exponential growth. In this paper, the authors introduce and establish some properties of the atomic Hardy-type spaces { Xs ( Y ) }0 < s \leqslant ¥\left\{ {X_s \left( \mathcal{Y} \right)} \right\}_{0 < s \leqslant \infty } and the BMO-type spaces { BMO( Y, s ) }0 < s \leqslant ¥\left\{ {BMO\left( {\mathcal{Y}, s} \right)} \right\}_{0 < s \leqslant \infty }. Let H 1 ( Y )\left( \mathcal{Y} \right) be the known atomic Hardy space and L 01 ( Y )\left( \mathcal{Y} \right) the subspace of fL 1 ( Y )\left( \mathcal{Y} \right) with integral 0. The authors prove that the dual space of X s ( Y )\left( \mathcal{Y} \right) is BMO( Y,s )BMO\left( {\mathcal{Y},s} \right) when s ∈ (0,∞), X s ( Y )\left( \mathcal{Y} \right) = H 1 ( Y )\left( \mathcal{Y} \right) when s ∈ (0, 1], and X ( Y )\left( \mathcal{Y} \right) = L 01 ( Y )\left( \mathcal{Y} \right) (or L 1 ( Y )\left( \mathcal{Y} \right)). As applications, the authors show that if T is a linear operator bounded from H 1 ( Y )\left( \mathcal{Y} \right) to L 1 ( Y )\left( \mathcal{Y} \right) and from L 1 ( Y )\left( \mathcal{Y} \right) to L 1,∞ ( Y )\left( \mathcal{Y} \right), then for all r ∈ (1,∞) and s ∈ (r,∞], T is bounded from X r ( Y )\left( \mathcal{Y} \right) to the Lorentz space L 1,s ( Y )\left( \mathcal{Y} \right), which applies to the Calderón-Zygmund operator on (ℝ n , |·|, μ), the imaginary powers of the Ornstein-Uhlenbeck operator on (ℝ n , |·|, d γ ) and the spectral operator associated with the spectral multiplier on (S, d, ρ). All these results generalize the corresponding results of Sweezy, Abu-Shammala and Torchinsky on Euclidean spaces.  相似文献

Let R → S be a ring homomorphism and X be a complex of R-modules. Then the complex of S-modules S?_R~L X in the derived category D(S) is constructed in the natural way. This paper is devoted to dealing with the relationships of the Gorenstein projective dimension of an R-complex X(possibly unbounded) with those of the S-complex S?_R~L X.It is shown that if R is a Noetherian ring of finite Krull dimension and φ : R → S is a faithfully flat ring homomorphism, then for any homologically degree-wise finite complex X, there is an equality Gpd_RX = GpdS(S?_R~L X). Similar result is obtained for Ding projective dimension of the S-complex S?_R~L X.  相似文献

LetX be a smooth irreducible projective variety over an algebraically closed fieldK andE a vector bundle onX. We prove that, if dimX ≥ 1, there exist a smooth irreducible projective varietyZ overK, a surjective separable morphismf:ZX which is finite outside an algebraic subset of codimension ≥ 3 inX and a line bundleL onX such that the direct image ofL byf is isomorphic toE. WhenX is a curve, we show thatZ, f, L can be so chosen thatf is finite and the canonical mapH 1(Z, O) →H 1(X, EndE) is surjective. Dedicated to the memory of Professor K G Ramanathan  相似文献

Summary Here we prove the following result. Fix integersq, τ,a’, b’, a’ i, 1≤i≤τ,a’, b’, a’ i, 1≤i≤τ; then there is an integerew such that for every integertw, for every algebraically closed fieldK for every smooth complete surfaceX with negative Kodaira dimension, irregularityq andK X 2 =8(1−q)−τ, the following condition holds; ifXS is a sequence fo τ blowing-downs which gives a relatively minimal model with ruling ρ:SC, take as basis of the Neron Severi groupNS(X) a smooth rational curve which is the total transform of a fiber ofC, the total transform of a minimal section of ρ and the total transformD i, 1≤i≤τ, of the exceptional curver; then for everyH andL∈Pic (X) withH ample,H (resp.L) represented by the integersa’, b’, a’ i, (resp.a’, b’, a’ i), 1≤i≤τ, in the chosen basis ofNS(X) the moduli spaceM(ZX, 2,H, L, t) of rank 2H-stable vector bundles onX with determinantL andc 2=t is generically smooth and the number, dimension and ?birational structure? of the irreducible components ofM(X, 2,H, L, t)red do not depend on the choice ofK andX. Furthermore the birational structure of these irreducible components can be loosely described in terms of the birational structure of the components of suitableM(S, 2,H’, L’, t’)red withS a relatively minimal model ofX.

LetL be a sublattice of the space of real continuous functions defined on a Suslin spaceX, such that at no point all the functions inL vanish. Then it is shown that every Daniell integrall μ:L → IR is representable by a Radon measurem onX: μ(ϕ)=∫ϕdm ∀ϕ∈L. The measurem may be uniquely determined by constraining it to be concentrated on a certain type of subset ofX. The relation betweenL 1(μ) andL 1(m) is examined in detail.  相似文献

The aim of the present paper is to characterize the spectral representation of Gaussian semimartingales. That is, we provide necessary and sufficient conditions on the kernel K for X t = K t (s) dN s to be a semimartingale. Here, N denotes an independently scattered Gaussian random measure on a general space S. We study the semimartingale property of X in three different filtrations. First, the ℱ X -semimartingale property is considered, and afterwards the ℱ X,∞-semimartingale property is treated in the case where X is a moving average process and ℱ t X,∞=σ(X s :s∈(−∞,t]). Finally, we study a generalization of Gaussian Volterra processes. In particular, we provide necessary and sufficient conditions on K for the Gaussian Volterra process −∞ t K t (s) dW s to be an ℱ W,∞-semimartingale (W denotes a Wiener process). Hereby we generalize a result of Knight (Foundations of the Prediction Process, 1992) to the nonstationary case.  相似文献

LetT(t) be the translation group onY=C 0(ℝ×K)=C 0(ℝ)⊗C(K),K compact Hausdorff, defined byT(t)f(x, y)=f(x+t, y). In this paper we give several representations of the sun-dialY corresponding to this group. Motivated by the solution of this problem, viz.Y =L 1(ℝ)⊗M(K), we develop a duality theorem for semigroups of the formT 0(t)⊗id on tensor productsZX of Banach spaces, whereT 0(t) is a semigroup onZ. Under appropriate compactness assumptions, depending on the kind of tensor product taken, we show that the sun-dial ofZX is given byZ X*. These results are applied to determine the sun-dials for semigroups induced on spaces of vector-valued functions, e.g.C 0(Ω;X) andL p (μ;X). Let T and S be invertible measure preserving transformations of a probability measure space (X, ℬ, μ). We prove that if the group generated by T and S is nilpotent, then exists in L 2-norm for any u, vL (X, ℬ, μ). We also show that for A∈ℬ with μ(A)>0 one has . By the way of contrast, we bring examples showing that if measure preserving transformations T, S generate a solvable group, then (i) the above limits do not have to exist; (ii) the double recurrence property fails, that is, for some A∈ℬ, μ(A)>0, one may have μ(AT -n AS - n A)=0 for all n∈ℕ. Finally, we show that when T and S generate a nilpotent group of class ≤c, in L 2(X) for all u, vL (X) if and only if T×S is ergodic on X×X and the group generated by T -1 S, T -2 S 2,..., T -c S c acts ergodically on X.
