In this paper, we investigate a delayed HIV infection model that considers the homeostatic proliferation of CD4+ T cells. The existence and stability of uninfected equilibrium and infected equilibria(smaller and larger ones) are studied by analyzing the characteristic equation of the system. The intracellular delay does not affect the stability of uninfected equilibrium, but it can change the stability of larger positive equilibrium and Hopf bifurcation appears inducing stable limit c... 相似文献

An SIS Epidemic Model with Stage Structure and a Delay 总被引:12,自引:0,他引:12
A disease transmission model of SIS type with stage structure and a delay is formulated. Stability of the disease free equilibrium, and existence, uniqueness, and stability of an endemic equilibrium, are investigated for the model. The stability results arc stated in terms of a key threshold parameter. The effects of stage structure and time delay on dynamical behavior of the infectious disease are analyzed. It is shown that stage structure has no effect on the epidemic model and Hopf bifurcation can occur as the time delay increases. 相似文献

In this paper, a predator-prey model of three species is investigated, the necessary and sufficient of the stable equilibrium point for this model is studied. Further, by introducing a delay as a bifurcation parameter, it is found that Hopf bifurcation occurs when τ cross some critical values. And, the stability and direction of hopf bifurcation are determined by applying the normal form theory and center manifold theory. numerical simulation results are given to support the theoretical predictions. At last, the periodic solution of this system is computed. 相似文献

To continue the discussion in (Ⅰ ) and ( Ⅱ ),and finish the study of the limit cycle problem for quadratic system ( Ⅲ )m=0 in this paper. Since there is at most one limit cycle that may be created from critical point O by Hopf bifurcation, the number of limit cycles depends on the different situations of separatrix cycle to be formed around O. If it is a homoclinic cycle passing through saddle S1 on 1 +ax-y = 0,which has the same stability with the limit cycle created by Hopf bifurcation, then the uniqueness of limit cycles in such cases can be proved. If it is a homoclinic cycle passing through saddle N on x= 0,which has the different stability from the limit cycle created by Hopf bifurcation, then it will be a case of two limit cycles. For the case when the separatrix cycle is a heteroclinic cycle passing through two saddles at infinity, the discussion of the paper shows that the number of limit cycles will change from one to two depending on the different values of parameters of system. 相似文献

<正>Motivated by an animal territoriality model,we consider a centroidal Voronoi tessellation algorithm from a dynamical systems perspective. In doing so,we discuss the stability of an aligned equilibrium configuration for a rectangular domain that exhibits interesting symmetry properties. We also demonstrate the procedure for performing a center manifold reduction on the system to extract a set of coordinates which capture the long term dynamics when the system is close to a bifurcation.Bifurcations of the system restricted to the center manifold are then classified and compared to numerical results.Although we analyze a specific set-up,these methods can in principle be applied to any bifurcation point of any equilibrium for any domain. 相似文献

We investigate a diffusive, stage-structured epidemic model with the maturation delay and freelymoving delay. Choosing delays and diffusive rates as bifurcation parameters, the only possible way to destabilize the endemic equilibrium is through Hopf bifurcation. The normal forms of Hopf bifurcations on the center manifold are calculated, and explicit formulae determining the criticality of bifurcations are derived. There are two different kinds of stable oscillations near the first bifurcation: ... 相似文献

A dynamic model of schistosoma japonicum transmission is presented that incorporates effects of the prepatent periods of the different stages of schistosoma into Baxbour's model. The model consists of four delay differential equations. Stability of the disease free equilibrium and the existence of an endemic equilibrium for this model are stated in terms of a key threshold parameter. The study of dynamics for the model shows that the endemic equilibrium is globally stable in an open region if it exists and there is no delays, and for some nonzero delays the endemic equilibrium undergoes Hopf bifurcation and a periodic orbit emerges. Some numerical results are provided to support the theoretic results in this paper. These results suggest that prepatent periods in infection affect the prevalence of schistosomiasis, and it is an effective strategy on schistosomiasis control to lengthen in prepatent period on infected definitive hosts by drug treatment (or lengthen in prepatent period on infected intermediate snails by lower water temperature). 相似文献

In this paper, a toxin producing phytoplankton-zooplankton model with inhibitory substrate and time delay is investigated. A discrete time delay is induced to both of the consume response function and distribution of toxic substance term. Moreover, Tissiet type function is used for zooplankton grazing to account for the effect of toxication by the TPP population. The conditions to guarantee the coexistence of two species and stability of coexistence equilibrium are given. In particular, we show that there exist critical values of the delay parameters below which the coexistence equilibrium is stable and above which it is unstable. Hopf bifurcation occurs when the delay parameters cross their critical values. Some numerical simulations are executed to validate the analytical findings. 相似文献

In this paper,we investigate the number, location and stability of limit cycles in a class of perturbedpolynomial systems with (2n 1) or (2n 2)-degree by constructing detection function and using qualitativeanalysis. We show that there are at most n limit cycles in the perturbed polynomial system, which is similar tothe result of Perko in [8] by using Melnikov method. For n=2,we establish the general conditions dependingon polynomial's coefficients for the bifurcation, location and stability of limit cycles. The bifurcation parametervalue of limit cycles in [5] is also improved by us.When n=3 the sufficient and necessary conditions for theappearance of 3 limit cycles are given. Two numerical examples for the location and stability of limit cycles areused to demonstrate our theoretical results. 相似文献

A kind of three species delayed predator-prey system with reserve area for prey and in the presence of toxicity is proposed in this paper.Local stability of the coexistence equilibrium of the system and the existence of a Hopf bifurcation is established by choosing the time delay as the bifurcation parameter.Explicit formulas to determine the direction and stability of the Hopf bifurcation are obtained by means of the normal form theory and the center manifold theorem. Finally,we give a numerical example to illustrate the obtained results. 相似文献

The global dynamics of an SIRS model with a nonlinear incidence rate is investigated. We establish a threshold for a disease to be extinct or endemic, analyze the existence and asymptotic stability of equilibria, and verify the existence of bistable states, i.e., a stable disease free equilibrium and a stable endemic equilibrium or a stable limit cycle. In particular, we find that the model admits stability switches as a parameter changes. We also investigate the backward bifurcation, the Hopf bifurcation and Bogdanov–Takens bifurcation and obtain the Hopf bifurcation criteria and Bogdanov–Takens bifurcation curves, which are important for making strategies for controlling a disease. 相似文献

In this paper, we study a delayed diffusive predator-prey model with fear effect and Holling II functional response. The stability of the positive equilibrium is investigated. We find that time delay can destabilize the stable equilibrium and induce Hopf bifurcation. Diffusion may lead to Turing instability and inhomogeneous periodic solutions. Through the theory of center manifold and normal form, some detailed formulas for determining the of Hopf bifurcation are presented. Some numerical simulations are also provided. 相似文献

A modified Leslie–Gower-type prey–predator model composed of a logistic prey with Holling’s type II functional response is studied. The axial point (1, 0) is found to be globally asymptotically stable in a domain. Condition for stability of the non-trivial equilibrium point is obtained. The existence of stable limit cycle of the system is also established. The analysis for Hopf bifurcation is carried out. The numerical simulations are carried out to study the effects of seasonally varying parameters of the model. The system shows the rich dynamic behavior including bifurcation and chaos. 相似文献

From the view of bifurcation and chaos control, the dynamics of modified Chua’s circuit system are investigated by a delayed feedback method. Firstly, the local stability of the equilibria is discussed by analyzing the distribution of the roots of associated characteristic equation. The regions of linear stability of equilibria are given. It is found that there exist Hopf bifurcation and Hopf-zero bifurcation when the delay passes though a sequence of critical values. By using the normal form method and the center manifold theory, we derive the explicit formulas for determining the direction and stability of Hopf bifurcation. Finally, chaotic oscillation is converted into a stable equilibrium or a stable periodic orbit by designing appropriate feedback strength and delay. Some numerical simulations are carried out to support the analytic results. 相似文献

Based on the availability of prey and a simple predator–prey model, we propose a delayed predator–prey model with predator migration to describe biological control. We first study the existence and stability of equilibria. It turns out that backward bifurcation occurs with the migration rate as bifurcation parameter. The stability of the trivial equilibrium and the boundary equilibrium is delay-independent. However, the stability of the positive equilibrium may be delay-dependent. Moreover, delay can switch the stability of the positive equilibrium. When the positive equilibrium loses stability, Hopf bifurcation can occur. The direction and stability of Hopf bifurcation is derived by applying the center manifold method and the normal form theory. The main theoretical results are illustrated with numerical simulations. 相似文献

In this paper, Hopf bifurcation for two-species Lotka–Volterra competition systems with delay dependence is investigated. By choosing the delay as a bifurcation parameter, we prove that the system is stable over a range of the delay and beyond that it is unstable in the limit cycle form, i.e., there are periodic solutions bifurcating out from the positive equilibrium. Our results show that a stable competition system can be destabilized by the introduction of a maturation delay parameter. Further, an explicit algorithm for determining the direction of the Hopf bifurcation and the stability of the bifurcating periodic solutions is derived by using the theory of normal forms and center manifolds, and numerical simulations supporting the theoretical analysis are also given. 相似文献

Delayed feedbacks are quite common in many physical and biological systems and in particular many physiological systems. Delay can cause a stable system to become unstable and vice versa. One of the well-studied non-biological chemical oscillators is the Belousov-Zhabotinsky(BZ) reaction. This paper presents an investigation of stability and Hopf bifurcation of the Oregonator model with delay. We analyze the stability of the equilibrium by using linear stability method. When the eigenvalues of the characteristic equation associated with the linear part are pure imaginary, we obtain the corresponding delay value. We find that stability of the steady state changes when the delay passes through the critical value. Then, we calculate the explicit formulae for determining the direction of the Hopf bifurcation and the stability of these periodic solutions bifurcating from the steady states, by using the normal form theory and the center manifold theorem. Finally, numerical simulations results are given to support the theoretical predictions by using Matlab and DDE-Biftool. 相似文献

Time delays are often sources of complex behavior in dynamic systems. Yet its complexity needs to be further explored, particularly when multiple time delays are present. As a purpose to gain insight into such complexity under multiple time delays, we investigate the mechanism for the action of multiple time delays on a particular non-autonomous system in this paper. The original mathematical model under consideration is a Duffing oscillator with harmonic excitation. A delayed system is obtained by adding delayed feedbacks to the original system. Two time delays are involved in such system, one of which in the displacement feedback and the other in the velocity feedback. The time delays are taken as adjustable parameters to study their effects on the dynamics of the system. Firstly, the stability of the trivial equilibrium of the linearized system is discussed and the condition under which the equilibrium loses its stability is obtained. This leads to a critical stability boundary where Hopf bifurcation or double Hopf bifurcation may occur. Then, the chaotic behavior of such system is investigated in detail. Particular emphasis is laid on the effect of delay difference between two time delays on the chaotic properties. A Melnikov’s analysis is employed to obtain the necessary condition for onset of chaos resulting from homoclinic bifurcation. And numerical analyses via the bifurcation diagram and the top Lyapunov exponent are carried out to show the actual time delay effect. Both the results obtained by the two analyses show that the delay difference between two time delays plays a very important role in inducing or suppressing chaos, so that it can be taken as a simple but efficient “switch” to control the motion of a system: either from order to chaos or from chaos to order. 相似文献
