We present a search for the standard model Higgs boson (H) in pp collisions at sqrt(s)=1.96 TeV in events containing a charged lepton (?), missing transverse energy, and at least two jets, using 5.4 fb(-1) of integrated luminosity recorded with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. This analysis is sensitive primarily to Higgs bosons produced through the fusion of two gluons or two electroweak bosons, with subsequent decay H→WW→?νq'q, where ? is an electron or muon. The search is also sensitive to contributions from other production channels, such as WH→?νbb. In the absence of a signal, we set limits at the 95% C.L. on the cross section for H production σ(pp→H+X) in these final states. For a mass of M(H)=160 GeV, the limit is a factor of 3.9 larger than the cross section in the standard model and consistent with an a priori expected sensitivity of 5.0.  相似文献

Increasing the concentration of indium atoms and hydrogen was found in the α-phase of the foil of a Pd-In alloy (with 5.3 and 5.0 at % In) after its electrolytic hydrogenation and 500-h relaxation. An expression for the decay rate (0 ) has been derived in the frameworkof the spinor strong interaction theory, a first-principles strong interaction theoryproposed some years ago as an alternative to low-energy QCD. The startingpoint is the SO(3) gauge-invariant action for two quark mesons which has beensuccessful in accounting for confinement, + + , e+, and 0 e+, nonexistenceof the Higgs boson, and other low-energy mesonic phenomena. The quasi-four-quarkmeson equations developed for the decay of a vector meson into twopseudoscalar mesons V PP has been taken over here to apply to P(0) VV(+ ) (plus + and which annihilate each other). This mechanismin principle agrees with that of the assumption of vector meson dominance inthe literature. It, together with the effect of form factors, arises naturally in theformalism and need not be assumed. Equations for the perturbed vector mesonwave functions cannot be simply solved and an assumption has been made toobtain an estimate of their magnitude. Together with a constant associated withthe strong coupling obtained earlier from V() PP(K+K), the estimated decayrate is 19.2 eV, in order-of-magnitude agreement with data (7.74 eV).  相似文献

We calculate theK S Emphasis>0 →γγ decay within the approach of non-linear realization of chiralS U(3)×S U(3). The branching ratio with respect to theπ + π - channel turns out to be 3.5×10?6 and therefore similar to the result gotten previously by dispersion relation techniques in a non-chiral model. We also discuss theK L 0 →γγ decay by taking into account new results onη 1-η 8 mixing from recent measurements of the η→γγ decay.  相似文献

The process e + e ? → η′γ, η′ → η π0π0, η → γγ is investigated by an SND detector in experiment on a VEPP-2M equipment with colliding electron-positron beams. The analysis of experimental data yields a value of B(? → η′γ)=(6.7 ?4.2 +5.0 ±1.5)×10?5 for the decay probability. Taking into account a previous measurement of this quantity by an SND detector in the decay channel η′ → π+π?η, one finally obtains B(?→η ′γ)=(6.7 ?2.4 +2.8 ±0.8)×10?5.  相似文献

We study possible deviations from the Standard Model in the reactionγeZe at a 500 GeVe + e ? collider. As a photon source we use a laser backscattered photon beam. We investigate the most generalγZγ andγZZ vertices including operators up to energy-dimension-six which are Lorentz invariant. These vertices require four extra parameters; two are CP-conserving,h 1 γ andh 1 Z , and two are CP-violating,h 2 γ andh 2 Z . We present analytical expressions of the helicity amplitudes for the processγeZe for arbitrary values of anomalous couplings. Assuming Standard Model values are actually measured we present the allowed region in the (h 1 γ ,h 1 Z ) plane at the 90% confidence level. We then show how the angular correlation of theZ decay products can be used to extract detailed information on the anomalous (especially CP-violating)γZγ andγZZ couplings.  相似文献

In a supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model(SM) where baryon and lepton numbers are local gauge symmetries(BLMSSM), we investigate the charged lepton flavor violating(CLFV) processes Z→l_i~±l_j~■ jafter introducing new gauginos and right-handed neutrinos. In this model, the branching ratios of Z→l_i~±l_j~■ jare around(10~(-8)–10~(-10)), which approach the present experimental upper bounds. We hope that the branching ratios for these CLFV processes can be detected in the near future.  相似文献

We find that the theoretical value of the branching ratio, BR(Bs →γγ), including the contributions of PGBs, P^± and P8^±, is very different from the standard model (SM) prediction. The new physical effects can provide a one to two order of magnitude enhancement of the SM results. In this article, we calculate the form-factors of the transitions B → a1(1260), b1(1235) in the leading-order approximation using the light-cone QCD sum rules. In calculations, we choose the chiral current to interpolate the B-meson, which has the outstanding advantage that the twist-3 light-cone distribution amplitudes of the axial-vector mesons makes no contributions, and the resulting sum rules for the form-factors suffer from far fewer uncertainties. Then we study the semi-leptonic decays B → a1(1260) lvl, b1(1235) lvl (l=e,μ,τ), and make predictions for the differential decay widths and decay widths, which can be compared with the experimental data in the coming future.  相似文献

Possible types of time dependences p(t) describing the kinetics of the βα a transformation in the Pd-H system are presented based on the theory of hierarchical structures. It is shown that one factor influencing the change in the time dependence p(t) is the degree of regularity in the distribution of defects in the hierarchical complexes and the strength of the hierarchical coupling determining the number of hierarchically coupled levels. Analysis of the relations obtained and the experimental data made it possible to distinguish the most likely physical causes for the retardation of the βα a transformation. Fiz. Tverd. Based. On the effective Hamiltonian with the generalized factorization approach, we calculate the branchingratios and CP asymmetries of B → VV decays in the Topcolor-assisted Technicolor (TC2) model. Within the consideredparameter space we find that: (a) for the penguin-dominated B → K* φ and K*0 φ decays, the new physics enhancementsto the branching ratios are around 40%; (b) the measured branching ratios of B →K* φ and K*0φ decays prefer therange of 3 Neffc 5; (c) the SM and TC2 model predictions for the branching ratio B(B →ρ ρ0) are only about halfof the Belle‘s measurement; and (d) for most B → VV decays, the new physics corrections on their CP asymmetries are generally small or moderate in magnitude and insensitive to the variation of mπ and Neffc.  相似文献

Using the40Ca(4.2 MeV/u) +60Ni reaction and on-line mass separation, the decay properties of 46 96 Pd50 were reinvestigated. From a comparison of experimental and theoreticalβ +/(EC +β +) probability ratios, theQ EC value was deduced to be 3,450 ± 150 keV. The strength was determined for four 0+→1+ Gamow-Teller beta transitions and found to be quenched as compared to predictions of the single-particle shell model. For96Pd and94Ru the sources of this quenching are discussed.  相似文献

We investigate the K^∗ production in the KN→Kπp reaction using the effective Lagrangian approach and the isobar model.To describe this reaction,we first take into account the contributions from the π,ρ and ω exchanges,as in previous studies.We find that although the experimental data can be generally described,there are some obvious discrepancies between the model and the experiments.To improve the model,we consider the contributions of the axial-vector meson and hyperon exchange.It is shown that a large contribution of the axial-vector meson exchange can significantly improve the results.This may indicate that the coupling of the axial-vector meson,e.g.a1(1260),is large in the KK^∗ channel.To verify our model,measurements of the angular distributions and spin density matrix elements of K^∗0 in the KLp→K^∗0p reaction would be helpful,and we make predictions for this reaction for a future comparison.  相似文献

We present a detailed analysis of the processep→γ?X as a means of studying the gauge structure of theWWγ vertex. We find that the differential cross section of highp T photons offers a sensitive measure of anomalousWWγ couplings. At HERA \((\sqrt s = 314GeV)\) , after several years of running, theWWγ vertex can be measured to δκγ ? ?2.0 +2.9 and δλγ ? ?2.5 +3.0 (95% C.L.). Which offers an improvement over existing constraints from direct measurements using associatedWγ production in \(\bar pp\) collisions but is less sensitive than the competing process at HERA,epeWX. For a higher energyep collider, LEP-LHC \((\sqrt s = 1.3TeV)\) , theWWγ vertex can be measured to δδκγ ? ± 0.4 and δλκγ ? ± 0.1 at 95%C.L. which is more sensitive to λγ than the processe + e ?W + W ? at the LEP200e + e ? collider and is comparable to the LEP200 sensitivity to κγ. These values are also roughly comparable to the competing processepeWX at LEP-LHC and to what is expected from associated γW production at the LHC and SSC for κγ but they are about half as sensitive to λγ as the LHC and SSC.  相似文献
