We fabricated carbon nanotube (CNT) emitters by a spray method using a CNT suspension with ethanol. Indium with a low melting pointing metal or indium tin oxide (ITO) was deposited on the glass substrate. The CNTs were sprayed on these layers and thermally annealed. The sprayed CNTs on an ITO were obtained a high emission current density, field enhancement factor, and a uniform emission pattern than the sprayed CNTs on an ITO layer. We found that the sprayed emitters on the indium layer had good field emission characteristics because of the strong adherence between the metal layer and CNTs.  相似文献

Various bistable switching modes in nematic liquid crystals with frequency inversion of the sign of dielectric anisotropy are revealed and investigated. Switching between states with different helicoidal distributions of the director field of a liquid crystal, as well as between uniform and helicoidal states, is realized by dual-frequency waveforms of a driving voltage. A distinctive feature of the dual-frequency switching is that the uniform planar distribution of the director field may correspond to a thermodynamically equilibrium state, and the chirality of an LC is not a necessary condition for switching to a helicoidal state.  相似文献

In this Letter, the ordered and disordered regions of the field variable of an oscillator chain are studied. For this purpose, the mean Lyapunov exponent (MLE) theory is applied to the helicoidal Peyrard-Bishop (hPB) model. Applying mean Lyapunov exponent theory introduced by Shibata [H. Shibata, Physica A 264 (1999) 226] on the model shows that, the system is very sensitive to the potential parameters. By analyzing the behavior of the MLE with respect to the harmonic helicoidal coupling (K), it can be found that, it is not possible to set the Morse potential parameters of the hPB model in good qualitative agreement with other experimental and theoretical studies. Furthermore, the results show that the MLE is independent of length of the DNA chain. This achievement is important since it can be used to overcome the computational difficulties.  相似文献

碳纳米管(Carbon Nanotubes,CNTs)场发射平面显示器(Field Emission Display,FED)与其他显示器比较显示了其独特优点,被认为是未来理想的平面显示器之一。碳纳米管阴极作为器件的核心部分,其性能的好坏直接影响显示器的性能。针对30~60英寸(76.2~152.4cm)大屏幕显示器所用的厚膜工艺,即采用丝网印刷法制备了碳纳米管阴极阵列,研究了化学气相沉积法在不同温度下生长的CNTs的场发射电流-电压特性,找到了适合FED用碳纳米管的最佳生长温度。结果表明生长温度越高(750℃),CNTs场发射性能越好。并用荧光粉阳极测试这些CNTs的场发射发光显示效果,验证了上述结论。  相似文献

In order to improve the field emission properties of the graphite flakes, the carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are produced on above without the metallic catalyst using mixtures of C2H2 and H2 gases by thermal chemical vapor deposition. We spin the graphite solution on the silicon wafer and dry it, then synthesize the CNTs on the graphite flakes. We change the synthetic time to obtain the optimal conditions for enhancement of field emission properties of graphite flakes. The experimental results show that the density and quality of the CNTs could be controlled significantly by the synthetic time. Besides, the field emission properties of the treated graphite flakes are also affected greatly by it. The emission current density of the treated graphite flakes reaches to 0.5 mA/cm2 at 3 V/μm, and the turn-on field is decreased from 7.7 to 1.9 V/μm after producing the CNTs on above.  相似文献

We report on the fabrication of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) on Ni-coated stainless steel (SUS) substrates by using dc plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition. The synthesized CNTs have the diameter of about 30 nm and the length of about 1.2 μm. To verify the effects of SUS substrates on the growth of CNTs, CNTs had also been grown on Ni-coated Si substrates. CNTs grown on the SUS substrates were more uniform compared with those grown on the Si substrates. Field emission properties of the CNT films were measured in the diode configuration, and the turn-on electric field of 3.87 V/μm and field enhancement factor β of about 1737 were obtained from the synthesized CNTs at the gap of 500 μm between the SUS substrate and the anode. These results have not only clarified the effects of the substrate on the growth of CNTs, but also shown the potential of CNTs in field emission applications, especially CNT-based cold-cathode X-ray tubes.  相似文献

Dispersion properties of low-frequency electrostatic waves in metallic carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are investigated. We assume that metallic CNTs are charged due to the field emission, and hence the metallic nanotubes can be regarded as charged dust rods surrounded by degenerate electrons and ions. We deduce the perturbed electron and ion number densities by using the quantum hydrodynamic model, while the dust rod density perturbation follows the classical expression. The Poisson equation, in turn, gives the dispersion relation for the low-frequency electrostatic oscillations in our three-species bounded plasma system composed of metallic CNTs. The oscillation frequency of CNTs can be used for diagnostic purposes, e.g. for the determination of charge on nanotubes.  相似文献

In this paper, we propose the novel branched carbon nanotubes (B-CNTs) as efficient candidate for field emission applications. We believe that the double-stage structure of B-CNTs, beside formation of multiple thin branches at the apex of each vertical CNT, is responsible for the observed enhanced field emission behavior in B-CNTs. In this regard, we have derived an analytical model to evaluate the field enhancement factor (β) of the B-CNTs in comparison with CNTs, as the most popular cathode for field emission applications in the scientific society. The presented model also allows investigating the effect of different structural parameters on the field emission characteristic. We have also, compared the field emission characteristics of the B-CNTs with vertical CNTs experimentally. We observed a β value for B-CNTs which was around three times higher than CNTs. The observed enhancement in the experimental data was in good agreement with the presented analytical model.  相似文献

In this Letter we study possible intervals for some parameters existing in the Peyrard-Bishop-Dauxois (PBD) model for the DNA dynamics. These parameters describe longitudinal and helicoidal interactions between nucleotides and a Morse potential approximating transverse interactions. We also estimate a possible interval for a wave number of a carrier component of a modulated solitonic wave. Finally, we compare our statements with experimental value of solitonic velocity in DNA.  相似文献

We fabricated an actuator that was made from polyurethane (PU) with carbon nanotubes (CNTs) as the filler. To improve the dispersion of the CNTs, a mild hydrothermal treatment was carried out. Carboxyl and hydroxyl groups were introduced to the surface of the CNTs, and they were found to be highly dispersed in polar solvents such as dimethylformamide. To evaluate these films, we mainly focused on electrical properties, such as dielectric spectroscopy, space charge measurements, and actuator behavior. We found that the PU/CNTs film bents toward the cathode when an electric field was applied, and it reverted to its original position when the electric field was removed. Upon the inclusion of the CNTs as the filler for the polymer, the electrical properties of the films improved significantly. The highly polarized films had a high relative permittivity, and this produced a higher Maxwell pressure, which assisted the actuation. A high accumulated charge density was observed from space charge measurements in some of the films, and this explains the bending direction and the actuation mechanism.  相似文献

Selective plasma etching and hydrogen plasma treatment were introduced in turn to improve field emission characteristics of screen-printed carbon nanotubes (CNTs) cold cathode, which was prepared by using slurry of mixture of multi-wall CNTs, organic vehicles and inorganic binder, i.e. silicon dioxide sol. The results show that selective plasma etching process could effectively remove parts of surface inorganic vehicle (SiO2) layer and expose more smooth and clean CNTs on cathode surface, which could significantly decrease the operating field of CNTs cathode. There are some nanoparticles emerging on the out of CNTs wall after hydrogen plasma treatment, which are equivalent to increase field emission point of cathode. At the same time, these nanoparticles can increase the local electric field of CNTs, which can decrease operating voltage of CNTs cathode and improve uniformity field emission.  相似文献

利用微波等离子体化学气相沉积(MWPCVD)方法,在不锈钢衬底上直接沉积碳纳米管膜。通过SEM、拉曼光谱和XRD表征,讨论了制备温度和甲烷浓度对碳纳米管膜场发射的影响。结果表明:不同条件下制备的碳纳米管膜的场发射性能有很大差异,保持氢气的流量(100sccm)、生长时间(10min)、反应室压力不变,当甲烷流量为8sccm、温度为700~800℃时,场发射性能最好,开启场强仅为0.8V/μm,发射点分布密集、均匀。  相似文献

采用低压化学气相沉积法(LPCVD)在镍片上直接制备碳纳米管(CNTs)薄膜,系统地研究了生长温度(500~800℃)对碳纳米管薄膜形貌、结构及场发射性能的影响,并对此方法的生长机理进行了分析。当温度从500℃升高到650℃时,碳纳米管的生长速率随着温度升高而增大,而温度继续上升,速率则明显减小。利用扫描电镜(SEM)和拉曼光谱仪表征和检测了碳纳米管薄膜的形貌和结构。碳纳米管的管径、长度、一致性和晶化程度随温度都有明显的变化。同时还对碳纳米管薄膜的场发射特性进行了测试,对其场发射机理进行了深入地探讨,表明温度对碳纳米管的性能有很大影响,并存在最优化的温度条件。实验结果表明碳纳米管薄膜的形貌、结构及其场发射性能可通过生长温度进行一定范围的控制。  相似文献

A theoretical investigation of the dynamic response of interacting carbon nanotubes (CNTs) dispersed in a liquid medium under alternating current electric fields is presented. The proposed modeling strategy is based on the dielectrophoretic theory and classical electrodynamics of rigid bodies, and considers the coupled rotation-translation motion of interacting CNTs represented as electrical dipoles. Based on experimental evidence, the parameters which are expected to cause a major contribution to the CNTs' motion are investigated for different initial configurations of CNTs. It is predicted that high electric field frequencies, long CNTs, high values of electrical permittivity and conductivity of the CNTs immersed in solvents of high polarity promote faster equilibrium conditions, achieved by CNT tip-to-tip contact and alignment along the electric field direction. For the majority of the scenarios, CNT alignment along the field direction is predicted as the first event, followed by the translation of aligned CNTs until the tip-to-tip contact condition is reached. For systems with interacting CNTs with different lengths, equilibrium of the shorter CNT is achieved faster. Predictions also show that the initial rotation angles and initial location of CNTs have a paramount influence on the evolution of the system towards the equilibrium configuration.  相似文献

用化学气相沉积法制备了碳纳米管,进行了不同时间的球磨处理。用扫描电镜、拉曼光谱对其形貌和结构进行了表征。对不同球磨条件下的碳纳米管制备成阴极,进行了场致发射特性的测试。结果表明,高能球磨会对碳纳米管的形貌、结构及场致发射性能有明显的影响。球磨时间为0.5~1h时,可以使碳纳半管变短而均匀,且场致发射电性能与未处理时相近,即有低的阈值电场和高的发射电流密度,从而使发射时在阳极上产生的荧光点密度大大增加,发光均匀。但研磨时间过长会改变碳纳半管结构,使其非晶化或石墨化,导致其场致发射性能和显示效果变差。  相似文献

To optimize the field emission of the infinite carbon nanotubes (CNTs) array on a planar cathode surface, the numerical simulation for the behavior of field emission with finite difference method was proposed. By solving the Laplace equation with computer, the influence of the intertube distance, the anode–cathode distance and the opened/capped CNT on the field emission of CNTs array were taken into account, and the results could accord well with the experiments. The simulated results proved that the field enhancement factor of individual CNT is largest, but the emission current density is little. Due to the enhanced screening of the electric field, the enhancement factor of CNTs array decreases with decreasing the intertube distance. From the simulation the field emission can be optimized when the intertube distance is close to the tube height. The anode–cathode distance hardly influences the field enhancement factor of CNTs array, but can low the threshold voltage by decreasing the anode–cathode distance. Finally, the distribution of potential of the capped CNTs array and the opened CNTs array was simulated, which the results showed that the distribution of potential can be influenced to some extent by the anode–cathode distance, especially at the apex of the capped CNTs array and the brim of the opened CNTs array. The opened CNTs array has larger field enhancement factor and can emit more current than the capped one.  相似文献

In this paper, we studied the effect of NaCl electrolyte as a surface treatment on improving the uniformity and stability of field emission of screen-printed carbon nanotubes (CNTs). A short period of the electrolyte treatment of CNT films remarkably increase emission uniformity and stability. Furthermore, the field emission characteristics of screen-printed carbon nanotubes (CNTs) such as low turn-on field, high emission current density and strong adhesion of the CNT film on the substrate were also reinforced after post-treated. SEM, TEM and Raman spectrum study revealed that uniformity and stability of field emission is enhanced by two factors. Firstly, the electrolyte treatment appeared to render the CNT surfaces more actively by exposing more CNTs form the CNT paste, which dominates initial uniformity and stability of field emission. Secondly, the number of opened CNTs and defects CNTs of CNT film were increased by electrical current energy.  相似文献

通过在碳纳米管(CNTs)表面沉积钛薄膜并经过高温真空退火处理,在CNTs表面形成了低功函数的钛碳化物.研究了钛碳化物改性CNTs的场发射性能,并利用X射线光电子能谱(XPS)对改性碳管进行了结构表征.实验结果表明,高温真空退火可使沉积在CNTs表面的钛原子与碳原子发生化学反应生成钛碳化物;经钛碳化物改性处理的CNTs的场发射性能明显改善,开启电场由改性前的121降低到104V/μm,当电场强度为234V/μm时,场发射电流密度由改性前的23增大到改性后的13.5mA/cm2,同时,CNTs的表面抗离子轰击能力增强,发射稳定性改善.对钛碳化物改性增强CNTs薄膜场发射性能的机理进行了分析. 关键词: 碳纳米管 钛碳化物 场发射 结构表征  相似文献

The field emission properties of electrophoretic deposition(EPD) carbon nanotubes (CNTs) film have been improved by depositing CNTs onto the titanium (Ti)-coated Si substrate, followed by vacuum annealing at 900 °C for 2 h, and the enhanced emission mechanism has been studied using X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM) and Raman spectroscopy. Field emission measurements showed that the threshold electric field was decreased and the emission current stability was improved compared to that of EPD CNTs film on bare Si substrate. XRD and Raman spectroscopy investigations revealed that vacuum annealing treatment not only decreased the structural defects of CNTs but made a titanium carbide interfacial layer formed between CNTs and substrate. The field emission enhancement could be attributed to the improved graphitization of CNTs and the improved contact properties between CNTs and substrate including electrical conductivity and adhesive strength due to the formed conductive titanium carbide.  相似文献

The magnetic-field induced orientational transition in helicoidal liquid-crystalline antiferromagnets representing compensated suspensions of magnetic nanoparticles in cholesteric liquid crystals is theoretically studied. The untwisting of a helicoidal structure and the behavior of mean magnetization as a function of the field strength and material parameters are investigated. It is shown that the magnetic subsystems in the field-untwisted ferronematic phase are not completely compensated, and the ferronematic phase is ferrimagnetic.  相似文献
