Manganese was irradiated with 14.7 MeV neutrons. By the technique of detecting inducedβ activity in the target material, the σn,pn,σ the reactions induced in55Mn has been measured. Particle and particle-γ measurements were performed to determine the cross sections for population of the 8.87 (2?), 10.35 (4+), 11.08 (3+) and 11.096 MeV (4+) states in 16O by the 12C(6Li, d) and 13C(6Li, t) reactions in the energy range from 20—34 MeV. In general, statistical compound nuclear calculations correctly predict the magnitude of the cross sections of the unnatural parity states and underpredict those for the natural parity states. The population of the 10.35 MeV 4+ state in the 13C(6Li, t) reaction is correctly predicted by these calculations. These measurements support earlier claims that the large 12C(6Li, d) cross section to the 11.096 MeV 4+ state is a result of multistep processes.  相似文献

The polarization Py for the 3H(p, n)3He reaction was measured for energies between 2 and 4 MeV. Special care was given to minimizing the effects of background and to interpreting the experimental spectra. The new values for Py are significantly higher than previous values, and comparison to the available data for the analyzing power Ay for the same reaction now shows that in this energy range Py and Ay are equal within experimental uncertainties. This equality negates earlier conclusions that sizeable differences existed between these observables. In particular, our new results demonstrate that in this reaction the effects of charge symmetry breaking on differences between these observables must be small.  相似文献

The cross sections for the reactions 208Pb(p, pn)207mPb, 208Pb(p, p2n)206mPb have been measured for 24, 28, 36, 44 and 52 MeV incident protons. The experimental results are shown to be consistent with the clean knockout mechanism for the (p, pn) reaction and with knockout of one neutron followed by evaporation of another for the (p, p2n) reaction. We deduce a theoretical formula for the cross section for these reactions.  相似文献

The absolute differential cross sections of scattering of hydrogen atoms resulting from an electron capture and an electron capture ionization are measured for collisions of 4.5- and 11-keV protons with argon and xenon atoms. The range of scattering angles is 0°–2°. From the scattering differential cross section found experimentally, the probabilities of single-electron capture and electron capture ionization as a function of the impact parameter are calculated. The dependences of the incident particle scattering angle on the impact parameter (deviation function) for interactions with Ar and Xe atoms are calculated in terms of classical mechanics using the Moliére—Yukawa potential to describe the interaction of atomic particles. Analysis is given to the probabilities of electron capture and electron capture ionization versus the impact parameter and to the distribution of the electron density on different electron shells in a target atom versus a distance to the core. It is concluded that only electrons from the outer shell of the target atom are involved in the process of electron capture ionization. The cross section of electron capture ionization is calculated in the proton energy range 5–20 keV.  相似文献

Angular distributions of the polarization of 3He(d, p)4He protons have been measured for unpolarized deuterons with laboratory energies of 1.99, 2.81, 3.94 and 6.00 MeV. The polarizations were determined from the left-right asymmetry of elastic scattering through 60° in 4He gas using a vaned polarimeter whose analyzing power was computed by trajectory tracing from the known p-α polarizations. A contour diagram of proton polarization for deuteron energies of 1 to 12 MeV is presented. A Legendre polynomial expansion of four or five terms has been fitted to the products p(θ)σ(θ). The coefficients of the expansions of these and other measurements show resonance-like behaviour at 5Li excitations of 20.0 and 20.9 MeV. The vector-polarized beam and polarized-target analyzing powers are compared with the proton polarization. The proton polarizations are in good agreement with the 3H(d, n)4He neutron polarizations when compared at the same entrance-channel energy but disagree when compared at equal exit-channel energies or compound-nucleus excitations.  相似文献

Angular distributions of six polarization transfer coefficients Kxx′(θ), kxz′(θ), Kzx?(θ), Kzz?(θ), and Kyyy?(θ); of the four analyzing powers Ay(θ), Axx(θ), Ayy(θ), and Azz(θ); and of the polarization function Pý(θ), have been measured atEd = 10.00 MeV for the reaction 2H(d, n)3He. Measurements were made for neutron lab angles between 0° and 80° in 10° steps. Additionally the y-axis associated quantities were measured at θ1ab = 99°. Thin oxide layers on (110) and (100) Si have been studied by ion scattering experiments in a channeling grazing exit angle geometry. Oxides are found to be stoichiometric SiO2 to within 10 Å of the (100) substrate surface, and 7 Å of the (110). The transition interface region between single crystal Si and the SiO2 layer is abrupt and is characterized by approximately one to two monolayers of Si which is out of registration with the substrate lattice for the (110) case. The possibility of a layer of O-deficient oxide is also explored.  相似文献

Angular distribution measurements of proton polarization in the 208Pb(d, p)209Pb reaction to the ground g9/2 state were made at an incident deuteron energy of 20 MeV using a high efficiency proton polarimeter. Distorted wave Born approximation analysis and continuum discretized coupled channel analysis were performed on the data and compared with measurements of the angular distribution of the vector analyzing power for the same reaction. The result of the calculations predict that the angular distribution of the vector analyzing power should be similar to that of the polarization. However, the experimental data gives different angular distributions. The measured vector analyzing power is well reproduced by the calculations, while the polarization is not well reproduced.  相似文献

K-Auger electron emission of Si and Ar produced by 4 keV to 10 keV electrons was measured. Absolute yields were obtained by normalizing to the elastically scattered primary electrons. From the yields cross sections for K-shell ionization were deduced. The cross sections are in good agreement with the results of a fit formula for K-shell excitation in the whole range measured, while they agree with results of PWBA calculations including electron exchange in the Ochkur approximation only for the higher impact energies.  相似文献

LaNiO3 thin films have been deposited by pulsed laser deposition on SrTiO3(100) and LaAlO3(100) substrates. The processing conditions have been investigated in order to optimize electrical resistivity, crystal quality, and surface morphology. Excellent properties are achieved at moderate substrate temperature and relatively low oxygen pressure, without the need for annealing. Thickness exerts an important influence on electrical transport, as the electrical resistivity increases quickly in films thicker than a few tens of nanometer. The surface of the films on LaAlO3 is very flat in all the studied thickness range, but the films on SrTiO3 develop a pattern of boundaries and even cracks as the thickness is higher. Below the critical thickness, high-quality epitaxial films with very smooth surface and low electrical resistivity are obtained under the optimum conditions of substrate temperature and oxygen pressure. The optimum processing conditions are different depending on the substrate, and control is especially critical in films deposited on SrTiO3.  相似文献

The ~(232)Th(n,γ)~(233)Th neutron capture reaction cross sections were measured at average neutron energies of 14.1 MeV and 14.8 MeV using the activation method.The neutron flux was determined using the monitor reaction~(27)Al(n,α)~(24)Na.The induced gamma-ray activities were measured using a low background gamma ray spectrometer equipped with a high resolution HPGe detector.The experimentally determined cross sections were compared with the data in the literature,and the evaluated data of ENDF/B-Ⅶ.1,JENDL-4.0u+,and CENDL-3.1.The excitation functions of the ~(232)Th(n,γ)~(233)Th reaction were also calculated theoretically using the TALYS1.6 computer code.  相似文献
