We consider a semilinear parabolic equation subject to a nonlinear dynamical boundary condition that is related to the so-called Wentzell boundary condition. First we prove the existence and uniqueness of global solutions as well as the existence of a global attractor. Then we derive a suitable ?ojasiewicz-Simon type inequality to show the convergence of global solutions to single steady states as time tends to infinity under the assumption that the nonlinear terms f,g are real analytic. Moreover, we provide an estimate for the convergence rate.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the special case of the question raised by Halmos (see below). In particular, we show that if Tk is p-hyponormal, then T is a subscalar operator of order 4k. As a corollary, we obtain that if Tk is p-hyponormal and σ(T) has nonempty interior in the plane, then T has a nontrivial invariant subspace.  相似文献

Following the work of C. Cowen and T. Kriete on the Hardy space, we prove that under a regularity condition, all composition operators with a subnormal adjoint on A2(D) have linear fractional symbols of the form. Moreover, we show that all composition operators on the Bergman space having these symbols have a subnormal adjoint, with larger range for the parameterr than found in the Hardy space case.  相似文献

Abstract

In this paper, using geometric polynomials, we obtain a generating function of p-Bernoulli numbers in terms of harmonic numbers. As consequences of this generating function, we derive closed formulas for the finite summation of Bernoulli and harmonic numbers involving Stirling numbers of the second kind. We also give a relationship between the p-Bernoulli numbers and the generalized Bernoulli polynomials.  相似文献

In this paper we continue the investigations of [10], [11]. We are interested in Miquel configurations having six, seven, or eight pairwise different points. Using the results of the previous papers we are able to present a lot of Miquelian theorems which can be used to coordinatize Minkowski geometries. At the end we consider a very special theorem of this kind. Up to now this is the only one which is not equivalent to the other interesting theorems of Miquel.

We answer many open questions regarding approximately orthogonality preserving mappings (in Birkhoff-James sense) in normed spaces. In particular, we show that every approximately orthogonality preserving linear mapping (in Chmieliński sense) is necessarily a scalar multiple of an ε-isometry. Thus, whenever ε-isometries are close to isometries we obtain stability. An example is given showing that approximately orthogonality preserving mappings are in general far from scalar multiples of isometries, that is, stability does not hold.  相似文献

In [H. Safa and H. Arabyani, On c-nilpotent multiplier and c-covers of a pair of Lie algebras, Commun. Algebra 45(10) (2017), 4429–4434], we characterized the structure of the c-nilpotent multiplier of a pair of Lie algebras in terms of its c-covering pairs and discussed some results on the existence of c-covers of a pair of Lie algebras. In the present paper, it is shown under some conditions that a relative c-central extension of a pair of Lie algebras is a homomorphic image of a c-covering pair. Moreover, we prove that a c-cover of a pair of finite dimensional Lie algebras, under some assumptions, has a unique domain up to isomorphism and also that every perfect pair of Lie algebras admits at least one c-cover. Finally, we discuss a result concerning the isoclinism of c-covering pairs.  相似文献

This is the first paper in a series to study vertex algebra-like objects arising from infinite-dimensional quantum groups (quantum affine algebras and Yangians). In this paper we lay the foundations for this study. For any vector space W, we study what we call quasi compatible subsets of Hom (W,W((x))) and we prove that any maximal quasi compatible subspace has a natural nonlocal (namely noncommutative) vertex algebra structure with W as a natural faithful quasi module in a certain sense, and that any quasi compatible subset generates a nonlocal vertex algebra with W as a quasi module. In particular, taking W to be a highest weight module for a quantum affine algebra we obtain a nonlocal vertex algebra with W as a quasi module. We also formulate and study a notion of quantum vertex algebra and we give general constructions of nonlocal vertex algebras, quantum vertex algebras and their modules.  相似文献

The gap between hyponormal and subnormal Hilbert space operators can be studied using the intermediate classes of weakly n-hyponormal and (strongly) n-hyponormal operators. The main examples for these various classes, particularly to distinguish them, have been the weighted shifts. In this paper we first obtain a characterization for a weakly n-hyponormal weighted shift Wα with weight sequence α, from which we extend some known results for quadratically hyponormal (i.e., weakly 2-hyponormal) weighted shifts to weakly n-hyponormal weighted shifts. In addition, we discuss some new examples for weakly n-hyponormal weighted shifts; one illustrates the differences among the classes of 2-hyponormal, quadratically hyponormal, and positively quadratically hyponormal operators.  相似文献

In this article we introduce a notion of `division' for rational functions and then give a criterion for hyponormality of (f, g are rational functions) in the cases where g divides f. Furthermore we show that we may assume, without loss of generality, that g divides f when we consider the hyponormality of . In this paper, we study the existence and multiplicity of classical solutions for a second-order impulsive differential equation with periodic boundary conditions. By using a variational method and critical point theory, we give some new criteria to guarantee that the impulsive problem has at least one solution, two solutions and infinitely many solutions when the parameter pair (c,λ) lies in different intervals, respectively. Some examples are given in this paper to illustrate the main results.  相似文献

In this work we prove a result that provides us an equivalent LUR norm in a normed space whenever it has the property of denting and compact faces in the unit ball; we obtain this result after applying the main result of [11]. We prove a conjecture of Las Vergnas in dimensions d7: The matroid of the d-dimensional cube C d has a unique reorientation class. This extends a result of Las Vergnas, Roudneff and Salaün in dimension 4. Moreover, we determine the automorphism group G d of the matroid of the d-cube C d for arbitrary dimension d, and we discuss its relation to the Coxeter group of C d . We introduce matroid facets of the matroid of the d-cube in order to evaluate the order of G d . These matroid facets turn out to be arbitrary pairs of parallel subfacets of the cube. We show that the Euclidean automorphism group W d is a proper subgroup of the group G d of all matroid symmetries of the d-cube by describing genuine matroid symmetries for each Euclidean facet. A main theorem asserts that any one of these matroid symmetries together with the Euclidean Coxeter symmetries generate the full automorphism group G d . For the proof of Las Vergnas' conjecture we use essentially these symmetry results together with the fact that the reorientation class of an oriented matroid is determined by the labeled lower rank contractions of the oriented matroid. We also describe the Folkman-Lawrence representation of the vertex figure of the d-cube and a contraction of it. Finally, we apply our method of proof to show a result of Las Vergnas, Roudneff, and Salaün that the matroid of the 24-cell has a unique reorientation class, too.  相似文献

For the unilateral shift operator U on the Hardy space H2(T), we describe conditions on operators T, acting on H2(T), that are necessary and sufficient for the pair (U, T) to be jointly hyponormal. One necessary condition is that T be a Toeplitz operator. In this paper, we consider a fourth-order boundary value problem with impulse. First, we establish criteria for the existence of one or more than one positive solution of a non-eigenvalue problem. Second, we are concerned with determining values of λλ, for which there exist positive solutions for an eigenvalue problem. The intuitive notion of evidence has both semantic and syntactic features. In this paper, we develop an evidence logic for epistemic agents faced with possibly contradictory evidence from different sources. The logic is based on a neighborhood semantics, where a neighborhood N indicates that the agent has reason to believe that the true state of the world lies in N. Further notions of relative plausibility between worlds and beliefs based on the latter ordering are then defined in terms of this evidence structure, yielding our intended models for evidence-based beliefs. In addition, we also consider a second more general flavor, where belief and plausibility are modeled using additional primitive relations, and we prove a representation theorem showing that each such general model is a p-morphic image of an intended one. This semantics invites a number of natural special cases, depending on how uniform we make the evidence sets, and how coherent their total structure. We give a structural study of the resulting ‘uniform’ and ‘flat’ models. Our main result are sound and complete axiomatizations for the logics of all four major model classes with respect to the modal language of evidence, belief and safe belief. We conclude with an outlook toward logics for the dynamics of changing evidence, and the resulting language extensions and connections with logics of plausibility change.  相似文献
