In this paper, the activity coefficients of amino acids and simple peptides in aqueous solutions were correlated by using a three parameters model based on the perturbation theory. The adjustable parameters of this model were obtained from the experimental data and a relation for calculating the activity coefficient is derived. The calculated activity coefficients of amino acids and simple peptides obtained show that the equation of state based on the perturbation model can be used to correlate the activity coefficients of amino acids more accurately than the other models. A correlation for the solubility of amino acids in aqueous solutions is also derived. The results show that this correlation can accurately correlate the solubility of amino acids in aqueous solution over a wide range of temperatures (0–100 °C).  相似文献

In this work, new experimental results of the vapour-liquid equilibrium (VLE) of CO2 in aqueous 2-amino-2-methyl-1-propanol (AMP) and piperazine (PZ) have been presented in the temperature range of 298-328 K and PZ concentration range of 2-8 mass%, keeping the total amine concentration in the solution at 30 mass%. The partial pressures of CO2 were in the range of 0.1-1450 kPa. A thermodynamic model was developed to correlate and predict the VLE of CO2 in aqueous AMP + PZ. The electrolyte nonrandom two liquid (ENRTL) theory has been used to develop the VLE model for the quaternary system (CO2 + AMP + PZ + H2O) to describe the equilibrium behaviour of the solution. The experimental data from this work and data available in the literature were used to regress the ENRTL interaction parameters. The model predictions are in good agreement with the experimental data of CO2 solubility in aqueous blends of this work as well as those reported in the literature. The current model can also predict speciation, heat of absorption, pH of the CO2 loaded solution, and amine volatility.  相似文献

Water activity measurements by the isopiestic method have been carried out on the aqueous ternary system of {l-serine + 1-(2-carboxyethyl)-3-methylimidazolium chloride[HOOCEMIM][Cl]} ionic liquid and the aqueous binary system of IL at T = 298.15 K and atmospheric pressure. The data obtained were used to calculate the vapor pressure and osmotic coefficient of solution as a function of concentration. The experimental results for the activity of water were accurately correlated with segment-based local composition models of modified NRTL and UNIQUAC. The fitting quality of the above models has been favorably compared with the NRTL and Wilson models. From these data, the corresponding activity coefficients have been calculated. For the same system, the solubility of the l-serine at various [HOOCEMIM][Cl] ionic liquid concentrations was measured at T = 298.15 K using the gravimetric method. A chemical model was employed to describe the dissociation equilibria of all amino acid species with hydrogen ions in water. Moreover, for l-serine, the chemical model indicated that the formation of cations is insignificant in the [HOOCEMIM][Cl] solution. Also the above local composition models were used to predict the solubility of l-serine in aqueous IL solutions. To provide information regarding (solute + solute) interactions, transfer Gibbs free energies (ΔGtr) of amino acid from water to aqueous IL solutions have been determined.  相似文献

In the present communication, we report the studies concerning liquid–liquid–solid equilibria for the ternary system sodium thiosulphate (Na2S2O3) + ethanol + water at ambient pressure and at room temperature (303 ± 2 K). The solubility data of Na2S2O3 are reported for solutions in water, ethanol and solutions of varying concentrations of ethanol in water. The phase diagram for the said system is developed, described and compared with similar system K2CO3 + methanol + water. These results have been explained in terms of structural properties of aqueous ethanol solutions and further discussed in terms of the effect of ions to cause phase separation.  相似文献

(Liquid + liquid) equilibrium (LLE) data for the ternary system of (water + butyric acid + oleyl alcohol) at T = (298.15, 308.15, and 318.15) K are reported. Complete phase diagrams were obtained by determining solubility and the tie-line data. The reliability of the experimental tie lines was confirmed by using Othmer-Tobias correlation. The UNIFAC method was used to predict the phase equilibrium data. The phase diagrams for the ternary mixtures including both the experimental and correlated tie lines are presented. Distribution coefficients and separation factors were evaluated for the immiscibility region. A comparison of the solvent extracting capability was made with respect to distribution coefficients, separation factors, and solvent-free selectivity bases for T = (298.15, 308.15, and 318.15) K. It is concluded that oleyl alcohol may serve as an adequate solvent to extract butyric acid from its dilute aqueous solutions.  相似文献

Enthalpies of solution of glycine, l-alanine, l-serine in water and aqueous solutions of formamide were measured at 298.15 K. Transfer enthalpies of amino acids from water to aqueous solutions of formamide were derived and interpreted qualitatively with hydration co-sphere overlap model. The results show that the structure interaction between formamide and zwitterionic head-group and hydrophilic side chain of amino acids make a negative contribution to transfer enthalpy, while that with the hydrophobic side chain is positive. In the solvent composition range studied, transfer enthalpies decrease overall with the increasing concentration of formamide, with the relative order of l-serine < glycine < l-alanine.  相似文献

Liquid-liquid equilibrium (LLE) data of the solubility (binodal) curves and tie-line end compositions were examined for mixtures of {(water (1) + butyric acid (2) + diethyl succinate or diethyl glutarate or diethyl adipate (3)} at 298.2 K and 101.3 ± 0.7 kPa. The relative mutual solubility of butyric acid is higher in the diethyl succinate or diethyl glutarate or diethyl adipate layers than water layers. The consistency of the experimental tie-lines was determined through the Othmer-Tobias correlation equation. The LLE data were correlated with NRTL model, indicating the reliability of the NRTL equations for these ternary systems. The best results were achieved with the NRTL equation, using non-randomness parameter (α = 0.3) for the correlation. Distribution coefficients and separation factors were measured to evaluate the extracting capability of the solvents.  相似文献

Isobaric vapor–liquid equilibrium data (VLE) at 101.325 kPa have been determined in the miscible region for 1,1-dimethylethoxy-butane (BTBE) + methanol + water and 1,1-dimethylethoxy-butane (BTBE) + ethanol + water ternary systems, and for their constituent binary systems, methanol + BTBE and ethanol + BTBE. Both binary systems show an azeotrope at the minimum boiling point. In the ternary system BTBE + methanol + water no azeotrope has been found, however, the system BTBE + ethanol + water might form a ternary azeotrope near the top of the binodal. Thermodynamically consistent VLE data have been satisfactorily correlated using the UNIQUAC, NRTL and Wilson equations for the activity coefficient of the liquid phase. Temperature and vapor phase compositions have been compared with those calculated by the group-contribution methods of prediction ASOG, and the original and modified UNIFAC. Predicted values are not in good agreement with experimental values.  相似文献

Liquid–liquid equilibrium (LLE) data of the solubility (binodal) curves and tie-line end compositions were examined for mixtures of {(water (1) + levulinic acid (2) + dimethyl succinate or dimethyl glutarate or dimethyl adipate (3)} at 298.15 K and 101.3 ± 0.7 kPa. The reliability of the experimental tie-line data was confirmed by using the Othmer–Tobias correlation. The LLE data of the ternary systems were predicted by UNIFAC method. The LLE data were correlated fairly well with UNIQUAC and NRTL models, indicating the reliability of the UNIQUAC and NRTL equations for these ternary systems. The best results were achieved with the NRTL equation, using non-randomness parameter (α = 0.3) for the correlation. Distribution coefficients and separation factors were measured to evaluate the extracting capability of the solvents.  相似文献

The solubility of xenon in liquid cyclopentane has been studied experimentally and theoretically. Measurements of the solubility of xenon in liquid cyclopentane are reported as a function of temperature from 254.60 K to 313.66 K. The imprecision of the experimental data is less than 0.3%. The thermodynamic functions of solvation of xenon in cyclopentane, such as the standard Gibbs energy, enthalpy, entropy and heat capacity of solvation, have been calculated from the temperature dependence of Henry's law coefficients. The results provide further information about the differences between the xenon + cycloalkanes and the xenon + n-alkane interactions. In particular, interaction enthalpies between xenon and CH2 groups in n-alkanes and cycloalkanes have been estimated and compared. Using a version of the soft-SAFT approach developed to model cyclic molecules, we were able to reproduce the experimental solubility for xenon in cyclopentane using simple Lorentz-Berthelot rules to describe the unlike interaction.  相似文献

Isobaric vapor–liquid equilibrium (VLE) data of the systems acetic acid + N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF), acetic acid + dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO), DMSO + water, water + acetic acid + DMF, and water + acetic acid + DMSO have been measured at 13.33 kPa by using an improved Rose equilibrium still. The association of acetic acid in vapor phase has been considered, and the nonideality of vapor phase was accounted for using the Hayden–O’Connell (HOC) method. The experimental binary data have been correlated by the NRTL, Wilson and van Laar models. The NRTL model parameters obtained from the binary data have been used to predict the ternary VLE data. The ternary predicted values obtained in this way agree well with the experimental values.  相似文献

Isobaric vapor-liquid equilibrium (VLE) data for acetic acid + water, acetic acid + n-propyl acetate, acetic acid + iso-butyl acetate, acetic acid + water + n-propyl acetate, acetic acid + water + iso-butyl acetate are measured at 101.33 kPa with a modified Rose still. The nonideal behavior in vapor phase caused by the association of acetic acid are corrected by the chemical theory and Hayden-O’Connell method, and analyzed by calculating the second virial coefficients and apparent fugacity coefficients. The VLE data for acetic acid + water, acetic acid + n-propyl acetate, and acetic acid + iso-butyl acetate are correlated through the NRTL and UNIQUAC models using the nonlinear least square method. The obtained NRTL model parameters are used to predict the ternary VLE data. The ternary predicted values obtained in this way agree well with the experimental values.  相似文献

Tie-line data for ternary system of (water + 1-propanol + diisopropyl ether (DIPE)) were determined at T = (298.2, 308.2 and 313.2) K under atmospheric conditions. The ternary system exhibited type-I LLE behavior, as (DIPE + water) is the only liquid pair that is partially miscible. The experimental data for this system were predicted with the UNIFAC model with a root mean square deviation of 2.64%. The reliability of the experimental tie-line data was determined through the Othmer–Tobias and Hand plots. Distribution coefficients and separation factors were measured to evaluate the extracting capability of the solvents. The influence of temperature effect on the equilibrium characteristics and separation factor was found to be significant at the temperatures studied.  相似文献

In this work, the modified Wilson model was used to obtain the activity coefficients of amino acids and simple peptides in non-electrolyte aqueous solutions. The Wilson model was modified using the new local mole fraction proposed by Zhao et al. and non-random case for the reference state. The binary interaction parameters (BIP) of the modified Wilson model for amino acid–water pairs were obtained using the experimental data of the activity coefficients for amino acids available in the literature. The modified Wilson model was also used to correlate the solubility of amino acids in water and the values of Δh/R, Δs/R, and Δg/R of the solutions studied were reported. The results obtained showed that the modified Wilson model can accurately correlate the activity coefficients as well as the solubility of amino acids and simple peptides in aqueous solutions. Also the modified Wilson model was coupled with the Pazuki–Rohani model to correlate the mean ionic activity coefficients of electrolytes in aqueous amino acid solutions. The results showed that the proposed model can accurately correlate the activity coefficients of the electrolytes in aqueous amino acid solution.  相似文献

Ultrasonic velocity and density values have been measured for ternary systems (amino acid/di-peptide + salt + water): l-leucine/l-asparagine/glycylglycine each in 1.5 M aqueous solutions of NaCl or NaNO3 or KNO3 used as solvents for several concentrations of amino acids/di-peptide at different temperatures in the range of 298.15-323.15 K. The ultrasonic velocity values have been found to increase with increase in amino acids/di-peptide concentration and temperature in all the systems. The increase in ultrasonic velocity with increase in concentration has been discussed in terms of electrostatic interactions occurring between terminal groups of zwitterions (NH4+ and COO) and Na+, K+, Cl, NO3 ions. The interactions of water dipoles with cations/anions and with zwitterions have also been taken into consideration. It has been observed that the ion-zwitterion and ion-dipole attractive forces are stronger than those of ion-hydrophobic repulsive forces. These interactions comprehensively introduce the cohesion into solutions under investigation. The cohesive forces are further enhanced on successive increases in solute concentration. Using ultrasonic velocity and density data, the parameters such as isentropic compressibility (κs), change (Δκs) and relative change (Δκs/κ0) in isentropic compressibility, specific acoustic impedance (Z) and relative association (RA) have been computed. The isentropic compressibility values decrease with increase in the concentration of solutes as well as with temperature. The decrease in κs values with increase in concentration of l-leucine, l-asparagine and glycylglycine in 1.5 M aqueous solutions of NaCl, NaNO3 and KNO3 have been explained in terms of an increase in the number of incompressible molecules/zwitterions in solutions and the formation of compact zwitterions-water dipole and zwitterions-ions structures in solutions. The decrease in κs values with increase in temperature has been attributed to the corresponding decrease of κrelax. (relaxational part of compressibility), which is dominant over the corresponding increase of κ (instantaneous part of compressibility). The trends of variations of Δκs, Δκs/κ0, Z and RA with change of concentration and temperature have also been interpreted in terms of various intermolecular/interionic interactions existing in the systems.  相似文献

The solubility of carbon dioxide in aqueous solutions of alkanolamines was measured by means of two experimental methods. The solubility of carbon dioxide was measured at 298 K with a static total pressure apparatus in solutions of water + diisopropanolamine (DIPA) having mass fraction of DIPA equal to 10.1%, 11.0% and 33.9%. The density of the water + DIPA solution was measured continuously during the experiments to investigate the changes in density introduced by the absorption of carbon dioxide. A correlation for the density of CO2-loaded aqueous solutions of DIPA is presented.  相似文献

The liquid–liquid equilibria for binary systems of tert-amyl ethyl ether (TAEE) + water, isopropyl tert-butyl ether (IPTBE) + water and di-sec-butyl ether (DSBE) + water are analytically determined in the temperature range 278.65–358 K. Additionally, tie-lines for six ternary systems of TAEE, IPTBE and DSBE with methanol and water or with ethanol and water are also measured at 298.15 K. All the measured binary and ternary data were correlated with the NRTL and UNIQUAC model. The reliability of the experimental tie-line data for ternary systems was ascertained by using the Othmer–Tobias correlation.  相似文献

In this paper the equilibrium solubility of carbon dioxide in 1.0 M, 2.0 M and 4.0 M 2(methylamino)ethanol (MAE) is measured at 303, 313 and 333 K, and at CO2 partial pressures ranging from 1 to 100 kPa using stirred cell reactor. The Kent-Eisenberg model was used to predict the solubility of carbon dioxide in MAE solutions. The equilibrium constant representing hydrolysis of carbamate ion is correlated with temperature, CO2 partial pressure and amine concentration by non-linear regression, using experimental results of carbamate ion concentrations. The model predicted results showed good agreement with the experimental solubility results. The solubility profile of CO2 in MAE showed better performance when compared with other commercial amines.  相似文献

The solubilities of three dibasic carboxylic acids (adipic acid, glutaric acid, and succinic acid) in water, in the ionic liquid of 1-butyl-3-methyl-imidazolim tetrafluoroborate ([Bmim][BF4]), and in the aqueous [Bmim][BF4] solutions have been measured by a solid-disapperance method. The binodal curve of water + [Bmim][BF4] was also determined experimentally from solid–liquid–liquid coexistence temperature up to near the upper critical solution temperature. Experimental results showed that each acid-containing binary behaved as a simple eutectic system. The solid–liquid equilibrium (SLE) data were correlated with the NRTL model for each binary system. The NRTL model with these determined binary parameters predicted the solid-disappearance temperatures of the aqueous ternary mixtures containing [Bmim][BF4] and the dibasic acids to within an average absolute deviation of 2.0%.  相似文献
