Tungstate fluorophosphate glass compositions with high WO3 concentration were prepared in the ternary system (80−0.8x)NaPO3-(20−0.2x)BaF2-xWO3 with x = 40,50 and 60 mol%. Transparency decreases as WO3 concentration increases but can be improved by addition of oxidizing systems such as CeO2 or Sb2O3/NaNO3. Characterizations by thermal analysis (DSC) point out that an increase in the amount of WO3 results in a higher glass transition temperature. In addition, such compositions are very stable against devitrification since samples containing 40% and 50% of WO3 donot even exhibit the expected crystallization event. In these samples, the stability against crystallization decreases with the WO3 content and vitreous sample containing 60% of WO3 exhibits an endothermic event around 620 °C due to crystallization of monoclinic WO3 phase. In these glasses, it was shown that the nucleation stage can be induced by thermal-treatment when external nucleating agents such as Ti or Sb are used. Finally, gold-doped samples exhibit a higher crystallization tendency and monoclinic WO3 phase can be grown in such glasses.  相似文献

Pb(PO3)2-TeO2 glasses in the whole range of glass composition were first obtained and their properties (refractive index, density, Tg and light scattering losses) were determined. Based on the vibrational spectroscopy data a new approach was applied to investigate the interactions of initial oxides in melts resulted in so-called constant stoichiometry groupings (CSGs) formation symbolizing intermediate range order in glasses. Vibrational spectra of glasses are interpreted as a superposition of unchangeable spectral forms (principal spectral components (PSCs)) belonging to CSGs: PbO · P2O5, TeO2 · 2PbO · 2P2O5, TeO2 · PbO · P2O5, TeO2, and possibly 2TeO2 · PbO · P2O5 and 6TeO2 · PbO · P2O5. In this work Multivariate Data Analysis has been applied as the independent mathematical tool to decompose Raman spectra of glasses and reveal the number of PSCs. It is shown that application of factor analysis results in the same five PSCs that confirms our data obtained from the CSG concept. This concept allows also the prediction of the existence of unknown compounds, and correspondingly some crystals (TeO2⋅ 2PbO⋅2P2O5 and others) were revealed by XRPD of the crystallized glasses. The CSG concept opens the way for elaboration of low scattering glasses as candidates for Raman amplifiers. It is shown that Pb(PO3)2-TeO2 glasses with small content of TeO2 are of interest to photonic technology.  相似文献

Characterization of B2O3 and/or WO3 containing tellurite glasses was realized in the 0.80TeO2–(0.20 ? x)WO3 ? xB2O3 system (0  x  0.20 in molar ratio) by using differential scanning calorimetry, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersive X-ray spectrometry techniques. Glasses were prepared with a conventional melt-quenching technique at 750 °C. To recognize the thermal behavior of the glasses, glass transition and crystallization temperatures, glass stability value, glass transition activation energy, fragility parameter were calculated from the thermal analyses. Density, molar volume, oxygen molar volume and oxygen packing density values were determined to investigate the physical properties of glasses. Fourier transform infrared spectra were interpreted in terms of the structural transformations on the glass network, according to the changing B2O3 and/or WO3 content. Crystallization behavior of the glasses was investigated by in situ X-ray diffraction measurements and microstructural characterization was realized by scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersive X-ray spectrometry analyses.  相似文献

The glass formation region in the ternary ZnO―Bi2O3―WO3 system is determined by melt quenching technique (cooling rates 101-102 K/s). New original glasses are obtained in a narrow concentration range with high WO3 content (60-75 mol%). Homogeneous glasses of the composition (100 − x)[0.2ZnO·0.3Bi2O3·0.5WO3]xMoO3, were obtained between 20 and 60 mol% MoO3. Characterization of the amorphous samples was made by x-ray diffraction (XRD), differential thermal analysis (DTA) and infrared spectroscopy (IR). The thermal stability of glasses decreases with the increasing of MoO3 content. The glass transition temperature, Tg, varies between 340-480 °C, while the crystallization temperature, Tx, varies between 388-531 °C. The tungstate glasses possess higher crystallization temperature (Tx over 500 °C) in comparison with the other vanadate and molybdate non-traditional glasses. The glass network is realized by transformation of three-dimensional structure of WO3 into a layered one, consisting mainly of WO6 units. We supposed that the network of quaternary glasses is built up by MoO4, MoO6 and WO6. At low concentration ZnO and Bi2O3 facilitate the disorder in the supercooled melts, while at high concentration stimulate crystallization processes. These oxides belong to the intermediate ones.  相似文献

Ternary PbCl2-Sb2O3-TeO2 system provides promising materials for photonic applications. Glasses in this system are thermally stable, their refraction index is about 2.2 and they are transparent from 400 nm up to 6 μm. The ab initio molecular dynamics (MD) simulations of xPbCl2-10SbO3/2−(90-x)TeO2 glasses (x = 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50) were carried out using density functionals, the plane-wave basis set expansion, and the projector-augment waves (PAW). The resulting glassy structures were analyzed with the help of partial radial distribution functions (RDF) and partial coordination numbers. Good agreement with the available experimental data was confirmed. The axial and equatorial oxygen atoms of TeO4 trigonal bi-pyramids were distinguished. Vibrational frequencies and their corresponding eigen-modes were found by diagonalization of the dynamical matrix. The simulated vibrational spectra were decomposed to determine the contributions from individual atomic species and some more complex structural features and compared with experimental Raman spectra. The spectral decomposition was carried out by projecting vibrational displacement vectors onto various normal modes of typical symmetric structural units. The method proved to be able to successfully interpret the experimental Raman spectra.  相似文献

Four ZnO-Bi2O3-TeO2 glasses were prepared from high purity (4N5) oxides. From measurements of the optical transmission on very thin bulk samples the optical gap was determined at around 3.55 eV for the glasses studied. The temperature dependence of the optical gap was also determined from the room temperature close up to 500 K. Preliminary Raman scattering measurements indicate that with a decrease in TeO2 content, TeO4 trigonal bipyramid transformation proceeds into TeO3 trigonal pyramids.  相似文献

The suitability for effective thermal poling of the ternary tellurite glasses with the compositions (100 − 2x)TeO2-xBi2O3-xZnO (x = 5, 10 and 15, in molar percentage) for the second harmonic generation (SHG) was analyzed. The glass transitions and crystallization temperatures were studied via differential thermal analysis. The structural properties of the annealed glasses and furtherly heat-treated samples were probed by extended X-ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS) spectroscopy. Thermal poling of the glasses was undertaken conventionally at various temperatures close to the glass transition temperature under high vacuum and the second harmonic generated signals were compared. A new technique of two stage poling was tested for comparison. The non-linear second harmonic signal of the poled glasses was analyzed using the Maker-fringe technique and it was found that the two stage poling enhanced the non-linear efficiency when compared to the conventionally poled samples.  相似文献

Infrared, EPR and optical absorption studies on (90-x)TeO2-10GeO2-xWO3 (7.5 ≤ x ≤ 30) glasses containing Cu2+ spin probe have been carried out. The Infrared spectral studies show that the structure of glass network consists of [TeO4], [TeO3]/[TeO3 + 1], [WO4], [WO6] and [GeO6] units in the disordered manner. Physical parameters such as density (ρ), molar volume (Vm), oxygen packing density (OPD), oxygen molar volume (Vo), optical basicity (Λ), oxide ion polarizability (αO2−), inter ionic distances and the concentration of ions per unit volume of Te, Ge, W, Cu and O have been determined. The spin-Hamiltonian parameters (g||, g and A||) of Cu2+ ions in the present glasses have been estimated from EPR spectra at 300 K. Bonding parameters such as α2, β12, β2, Γσ, and Γπ have been calculated from both optical absorption and EPR data. The observed variations in spin-Hamiltonian parameters and bonding parameters have been correlated to the structural modifications due to the WO3 incorporation into the TeO2 glass network at constant 10 mol% GeO2 content.  相似文献

We optimize the composition of tellurite glass for the manufacture of photonic crystal fibers with a large spectrum of transparency. The glasses, synthesized in four and five component (TeO2-WO3-Na2O-Nb2O5 and TeO2-WO3-PbO-Na2O-Nb2O5) oxide systems with variable contents of WO3 (5-38 mol%) and PbO (0-18 mol%), are designed and manufactured, and the transmission properties of the obtained glasses for the spectral range of 200 nm-7 μm have been determined. Thermal expansion coefficients and glass characteristic temperatures are determined by the dilatometer and Leitz heat microscope methods. Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) measurements as well as crystallization tests by isothermal heat treatment are used to measure the thermal stability of the glasses and their ability to crystallize. Diffractive X-ray (XRD) measurements are used to determine the crystalline phases of the glass samples and the glasses with the highest resistance to recrystallization during thermal treatment were selected and used for the manufacture of photonic crystal fibers.  相似文献

Crystalline and microcrystalline Cd-Te-O samples have been obtained by RF reactive sputtering from a CdTe target using N2O as oxidant. The growth conditions were substrate temperatures of 323 K, 573 K and 773 K and cathode voltage of −400 V, corresponding to 30 W of forward power. The samples were studied by micro-Raman spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction and optical transmittance. The films are remarkably transparent in the visible range, with transmittances about 88% at 400 nm and band gap energies above the absorption edge of the glass substrates. Although only the samples prepared at 773 K present defined diffraction peaks, the analysis of the Raman spectra indicate that samples prepared at 323 K and 573 K have a defined microstructure indeed. The spectra fitting performed by comparison with pattern compounds demonstrate that Cd-Te-O films are formed of Te-O units similar to those present in metal oxide-doped tellurite glasses, such as TeO3 and TeO3 + 1 linked through Cd-O bonds. As the substrate temperature increases the microstructure evolves from a γ-TeO2 richer state to CdxTeyOz. In the crystalline sample the main phase identified was CdTeO3 even though evidence of other phases was observed.  相似文献

The crystallization behavior of melt-spun (Zr65Al7.5Cu27.5)100−xTix (x = 0-15; in at.%) metallic glasses has been investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The DSC traces showed an altered crystallization mode in the vicinity of 3 at.% Ti addition. A metastable icosahedral quasicrystal precipitated at the first crystallization stage of the Ti-bearing metallic glasses, which subsequently transformed to the stable Zr2Cu-type phase in the followed exothermic reaction. The glass-forming abilities (GFAs) of these metallic glasses were assessed by the recognized GFA indicators Trg, ΔTx and γ. BMGs were easily made in the compositions containing 3-7 at.% Ti by means of copper mold casting. The validity of these parameters was clarified using the critical BMG forming diameter evidence.  相似文献

Erbium-doped glasses with composition xGeO2-(80 − x)TeO2-10ZnO-10BaO were prepared by melt-quenching technique. The phonon sideband spectra and the optical absorption band edges for the host matrix were confirmed by means of the spectral measurements. Standard Judd-Ofelt calculations have been completed to these glasses. The dependence of up-conversion and infrared emission under 980 nm excitation on the glass composition was studied. The quantum efficiencies for the 4I13/2 → 4I15/2 transition of trivalent erbium in the glasses were estimated.  相似文献

Glasses of the Bi2O3-TeO2-B2O3 ternary system were developed and their linear and nonlinear optical properties were investigated. The absorption edges of these glasses were found to be 367-384 nm with a good transmittance in visible wavelength, although they exhibit the refractive indices as high as 1.98-2.12 at 633 nm. The absorption edges are quite steep and they are analyzed by the Urbach theory. The obtained Urbach energies of these glasses are 73-79 meV which are comparable to silica glasses. The high refractive index and its glass composition dependency are discussed according to the basics of the electronic polarizability and optical basicity. The high third order nonlinear susceptibility χ(3) = 2.0 × 10− 12 esu at 800 nm was also obtained in the 36Bi2O3-18TeO2-46B2O3 glass.  相似文献

Specimens of the glassy system: (70 − x)TeO2 + 15B2O3 + 15P2O5 + xLi2O, where x = 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 mol% were prepared by the melt-quenching. An ultrasonic pulse-echo technique was employed, at 5 MHz, for measuring: the ultrasonic attenuation, longitudinal and shear wave velocities, elastic moduli, Poisson ratio, Debye temperature and hardness of the present glasses. It is found that the gradual replacement of TeO2 by Li2O in the glass matrix up to 30 mol% leads to decrease the average crosslink density and rigidity of prepared samples which affects the properties, i.e., the hardness, ultrasonic wave velocities and elastic moduli are decreased, while the Poisson ratio and the ultrasonic attenuation are increased. Also, optical absorption spectra were recorded in the range, 200-800 nm for these glasses. The obtained results showed that a gradual shift in the fundamental absorption edge toward longer wavelengths occurred. Values of both of the optical energy gap, Eopt, and width tails, ΔE, are determined. It is observed that Eopt is decreased and ΔE increased with the increase of Li2O in the glass matrix up to 30 mol%. The compositional dependences of the above properties are discussed and correlated to the structure of tested glasses.  相似文献

A series of tellurite glasses containing Fe2O3 with the nominal composition x(Fe2O3)–(1−x)(TeO2), where x = 0.05, 0.10, 0.15, and 0.20, have been synthesized and investigated using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and magnetization techniques. The Te 3d core level spectra for all glass samples show symmetrical peaks at essentially the same binding energies as measured for TeO2 indicating that the chemical environment of the Te atoms in these glasses does not vary significantly with the addition of Fe2O3. Furthermore, the full-width at half-maximum (FWHM) of each peak does not vary with increasing Fe2O3 content which suggests that the Te ions exist in a single configuration, namely TeO4 trigonal bipyramid (tbp). The O 1s spectra are narrow and symmetric for all compositions such that oxygen atoms in the Te–O–Te, Fe–O–Fe and Te–O–Fe configurations must have similar binding energies. The analysis of the Fe 3p spectra indicates the presence of Fe3+ ions only, which is consistent with the valence state of the Fe ions determined from magnetic susceptibility measurements.  相似文献

Tellurite 75TeO2-(10 − x)Nb2O5-15ZnO-(x)Er2O3; (x = 0.0-2.5 mol%) glass system with concurrent reduction of Nb2O5 and Er2O3 addition have been prepared by melt-quenching method. Elastic properties together with structural properties of the glasses were investigated by measuring both longitudinal and shear velocities using the pulse-echo-overlap technique at 5 MHz and Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, respectively. Shear velocity, shear modulus, Young's modulus and Debye temperature were observed to initially decrease at x = 0.5 mol% but remained constant between x = 1.0 mol% to x = 2.0 mol%, before increasing back with Er2O3 addition at x = 2.5 mol%. The initial drop in shear velocity and related elastic moduli observed at x = 0.5 mol% were suggested to be due to weakening of glass network rigidity as a result of increase in non-bridging oxygen (NBO) ions as a consequence of Nb2O5 reduction. The near constant values of shear velocity, elastic moduli, Debye temperature, hardness and Poisson's ratio between x = 0.5 mol% to x = 2.0 mol% were suggested to be due to competition between bridging oxygen (BO) and NBO ions in the glass network as Er2O3 gradually compensated for Nb2O5. Further addition of Er2O3 (x > 2.0 mol%) seems to further reduce NBO leading to improved rigidity of the glass network causing a large increase of ultrasonic velocity (vL and vS) and related elastic moduli at x = 2.5 mol%. FTIR analysis on NbO6 octahedral, TeO4 trigonal bipyramid (tbp) and TeO3 trigonal pyramid (tp) absorption peaks confirmed the initial formation of NBO ions at x = 0.5 mol% followed by NBO/BO competition at x = 0.5-2.0 mol%. Appearance of ZnO4 tetrahedra and increase in intensity of TeO4 tbp absorption peaks at x = 2.0 mol% and x = 2.5 mol% indicate increase in formation of BO.  相似文献

Glasses based on (85 − x)TeO2-xZnF2-12PbO-3Nb2O5 (x = 0-40) system have been studied for the first time for fabricating mid-infrared optical fiber lasers. The thermal and optical properties including UV-Vis, Raman as well as FTIR spectra are reported. It is demonstrated that increasing the ZnF2 concentration to 30 mol% significantly increased the thermal stability of the glass. Adding ZnF2 also reduced the hydroxyl (OH) content of the glass resulting in lower optical absorption in the mid-infrared region, which is crucial for infrared laser applications. The glass absorption cut-off edge near 400 nm blue-shifts with increasing ZnF2 addition. Raman spectra show a depolymerization of the glass network with increasing transformation of TeO3+1 to TeO3 structures.  相似文献

Bulk glasses of the system Ga20SbxS80−x (x = 5 and 40) were prepared for the first time by the known melt quenching technique. Non-isothermal differential scanning calorimetric (DSC) measurements of as-quenched Ga20SbxS80−x (x = 5 and 40) chalcogenide glasses reveal that the characteristic temperatures e.g. the glass transition temperature (Tg), the temperature corresponding to the maximum crystallization rate (Tp) recorded in the temperature range 400-650 K for x = 5 and 480-660 K for x = 40 are strongly dependent on heating rate and Sb content. Upon heating, these glasses show a single glass transition temperature (Tg) and double crystallization temperatures (Tp1 and Tp2) for x = 5 which overlapped and appear as a single crystallization peak (Tp) for x = 40. The activation energies of crystallization Ec were evaluated by three different methods. The crystallization data were examined in terms of recent analysis developed for non-isothermal conditions. The crystalline phases resulting from (DSC) have been identified using X-ray diffraction.  相似文献

Glasses in the ternary ZnO-P2O5-TeO2 system were prepared and studied in two compositional series (100 − x)[0.5ZnO-0.5P2O5]-xTeO2 (X-series) and 50ZnO-(50 − y)P2O5-yTeO2 (Y-series) within the concentration range of x = 0-60 and y = 0-40 mol% TeO2. Their structure was studied by Raman and 31P MAS NMR spectroscopies. The incorporation of TeOx units into the structural network is associated with the depolymerisation of phosphate chain structure as revealed by both methods. At a high TeO2 content isolated PO4 tetrahedra are formed in the structure of glass series Y, while diphosphate O3P-O-PO3 groups are present in the structure of the glass series X. In the structure of glass series Y tellurium atoms form predominantly TeO3 trigonal pyramids, whereas in the X glass series TeO4 trigonal bipyramids prevail in the glass structure. The addition of TeO2 to the parent zinc metaphosphate glass results in a decrease of glass transition temperature in both compositional series associated with the replacement of stronger P―O bonds by weaker Te―O bonds.  相似文献

The crystallization kinetics of glasses obtained from coal fly ash was investigated by both isothermal and non-isothermal methods using differential thermal analysis (DTA) data. In DTA experiments, glass samples having coarse (800-1000 μm) and fine (<180 μm) particle sizes were used and the results were compared. The Avrami exponent (n) was calculated by means of Johnson-Mehl-Avrami (JMA) and Ozawa equations. Calculated kinetic parameters indicated that the appropriate crystallization mechanisms were bulk and surface crystallization for coarse and fine particles, respectively. Isothermal and non-isothermal DTA experiments showed that the crystallization activation energies of coarse glasses are changed in the range of 444-578 kJ/mol, while the crystallization activation energies of fine glasses are changed in the range of 610-662 kJ/mol. It was found that crystallization activation energies of fine glasses are higher than those of the coarse glasses. Results showed that isothermal and non-isothermal crystallization kinetics of glasses produced from coal fly ash is in agreement within the experimental error.  相似文献
