Additive Maps on Matrix Algebras Preserving Invertibility or Singularity

We characterize the additive singularity preserving almost surjective maps on Mn （F）, the algebra of all n×n matrices over a field F with char F=0. We also describe additive invertibility preserving surjective maps on Mn （F） and give examples showing that all the assunlptions in these two theorems are indispensable.     

Additive Maps Preserving Nilpotent Operators or Spectral Radius

Let X be a （real or complex） Banach space with dimension greater than 2 and let B0（X） be the subspace of B（X） spanned by all nilpotent operators on X. We get a complete classification of surjective additive maps Ф on B0（X） which preserve nilpotent operators in both directions. In particular, if X is infinite-dimensional, we prove that Ф has the form either Ф（T） = cATA^-1 or Ф（T） = cAT＇A^-1, where A is an invertible bounded linear or conjugate linear operator, c is a scalar, T＇ denotes the adjoint of T. As an application of these results, we show that every additive surjective map on B（X） preserving spectral radius has a similar form to the above with ｜c｜ = 1.     

Linear Maps Preserving Generalized Invertibility

Let H be an infinite-dimensional complex separable Hilbert space and the algebra of all bounded linear operators on H. Let be a bijective continuous unital linear map preserving generalized invertibility in both directions. Then the ideal of all compact operators is invariant under ϕ and the induced linear map on the Calkin algebra is either an automorphism or an antiautomorphism.     

Linear maps on operator algebras that preserve elements annihilated by a polynomial

In this paper some purely algebraic results are given concerning linear maps on algebras which preserve elements annihilated by a polynomial of degree greater than 1 and with no repeated roots and applied to linear maps on operator algebras such as standard operator algebras, von Neumann algebras and Banach algebras. Several results are obtained that characterize such linear maps in terms of homomorphisms, anti-homomorphisms, or, at least, Jordan homomorphisms.

自伴标准算子代数上强保持k-斜交换性映射的刻画

令H是维数大于2的复Hilbert空间,A是H上自伴标准算子代数.对于给定的正整数k≥1,H上算子A与B的k-斜交换子递推地定义为_*[A,B]_k=_*[A,_*[A,B]_k-1],其中_*[A,B]₀=B,_*[A,B]₁=AB-BA^*.设k≥4,φ是A上的值域包含所有一秩投影的映射.本文证明了φ满足_*[φ（A）,φ（B）]_k=_*[A,B]_k对任意A,B∈A都成立的充分必要条件是φ（A）=A对任意A∈A都成立,或φ（A）=-A对任意A∈A都成立.当k是偶数时后一情形不出现.     

标准算子代数上保因子交换性的映射

Linear Maps Preserving Idempotence on Nest Algebras

In this paper, we discuss the rank-l-preserving linear maps on nest algebras of Hilbertspace operators. We obtain several characterizations of such linear maps and apply them to show that a weakly continuous linear hijection on an atomic nest algebra is idempotent preserving if and only if it is a Jordan homomorphism, and in turn, if and only if it is an automorphism or an anti-automorphism.

Invertible Linear Maps on Simple Lie Algebras Preserving Solvability

Let 𝔤 be a (finite-dimensional) complex simple Lie algebra of rank l. An invertible linear map ? on 𝔤 is said to preserve solvability in both directions if ?, as well as ?^?1, sends every solvable subalgebra to some solvable one. In this article, it is shown that an invertible linear map ? on 𝔤 preserves solvability in both directions if and only if it can be decomposed into the product of an inner automorphism, a graph automorphism, a scalar multiplication map and a diagonal automorphism.

Linear Maps Preserving Operators of Local Spectral Radius Zero

Let X be a complex Banach space and let B(X){\mathcal{B}(X)} be the space of all bounded linear operators on X. For x ? X{x \in X} and T ? B(X){T \in \mathcal{B}(X)}, let r_T(x) = limsup_{n ? ￥} || Tⁿx|| ^1/n{r_{T}(x) =\limsup_{n \rightarrow \infty} \| T^{n}x\| ^{1/n}} denote the local spectral radius of T at x. We prove that if j: B(X) ? B(X){\varphi : \mathcal{B}(X) \rightarrow \mathcal{B}(X)} is linear and surjective such that for every x ? X{x \in X} we have r _T (x) = 0 if and only if r_j(T)(x) = 0{r_{\varphi(T)}(x) = 0}, there exists then a nonzero complex number c such that j(T) = cT{\varphi(T) = cT} for all T ? B(X){T \in \mathcal{B}(X) }. We also prove that if Y is a complex Banach space and j:B(X) ? B(Y){\varphi :\mathcal{B}(X) \rightarrow \mathcal{B}(Y)} is linear and invertible for which there exists B ? B(Y, X){B \in \mathcal{B}(Y, X)} such that for y ? Y{y \in Y} we have r _T (By) = 0 if and only if r_{j( T)} (y)=0{ r_{\varphi ( T) }(y)=0}, then B is invertible and there exists a nonzero complex number c such that j(T) = cB^-1TB{\varphi(T) =cB^{-1}TB} for all T ? B(X){T \in \mathcal{B}(X)}.     

Invertibility of the Sum of Idempotents

We study necessary and sufficient conditions for the invertibility of the sum f+g when f and g are idempotents in a unital ring or bounded linear operators in Hilbert or Banach spaces. We describe the relation between the invertibility of f+g and f -g.     

Maps Preserving Zeros of xy*

For a prime ring A with involution, we explore the characterization of additive bijective maps φ: A → A such that φ(x)φ(y)* = 0 whenever xy* = 0. In particular, we show that if A is prime, unital, and generated by nontrivial idempotents, then there is a *-monomorphism g of A into Q, and an element r ∈ A such that φ(x) = rg(x) for all x ∈ A.     

Additive Maps Preserving Nilpotent Perturbation of Scalars

Let X be a Banach space over F(= R or C) with dimension greater than 2. Let N(X) be the set of all nilpotent operators and B_0(X) the set spanned by N(X). We give a structure result to the additive maps on FI + B_0(X) that preserve rank-1 perturbation of scalars in both directions. Based on it, a characterization of surjective additive maps on FI + B_0(X) that preserve nilpotent perturbation of scalars in both directions are obtained. Such a map Φ has the form either Φ(T) = cAT A~(-1)+ φ(T)I for all T ∈ FI + B_0(X) or Φ(T) = cAT*A~(-1)+ φ(T)I for all T ∈ FI + B_0(X), where c is a nonzero scalar,A is a τ-linear bijective transformation for some automorphism τ of F and φ is an additive functional.In addition, if dim X = ∞, then A is in fact a linear or conjugate linear invertible bounded operator.
