The complex trans-[Rh(CO)(NH3)(PiPr3)2]PF6 (2) was prepared from [(η3-C3H5)Rh(PiPr3)2] (1), NH4PF6 and CO or from 1 and NH4PF6 in presence of an excess of methanol. With an excess of CO, the dicarbonyl and tricarbonyl compounds trans-[Rh(CO)2(PiPr3)2]PF6 (3) and [Rh(CO)3(PiPr3)2]PF6 (4) were obtained. Displacement of one CO ligand in 3 by pyridine and acetone led to the formation of trans-[Rh(CO)(py)PiPr3)2]PF6 (5a) and trans-[Rh(CO) (O=CMe2(PiPr3)2]PF6 (6), respectively. Treatment of 1 with [pyH]BF4 and pyridine gave trans-[Rh(py)2(PiPr3)2]BF4 (7); in presence of H2 the dihydrido complex [RhH2(py)2(PiPr3)2]BF4 (8) was formed. The reaction of 1 with NH4PF6 and ethylene produced trans [Rh(C2H4(NH3(PiPr3)2]PF6(9) whereas with methylvinylketone and acetophenone the octahedral hydridorhodium(III) complexes [RhH(η2-CH=CHC(=O)CH3 (NH3(PiPr3)2]PF6(11) and [RhH(η2-C6H4C(=O)CH3(NH3(Pipr3)2]PF6 (13) were obtained. The synthesis of the cationic vinylidenerhodium(I) compounds trans-[Rh(=C=CHR)(py)(PiPr3)2]BF4 (14–16) and trans-[Rh(=C=CHR)(NH3)(PiPr3) 2]PF6 (17–19) was achieved either on treatment of 1 with [pyH]BF4 or NH4PF6 in presence of 1-alkynes or by ethylene displacement from 9 by HCCR. With tert-butylacetylene as substrate, the alkinyl(hydrido)rhodium(III) complex [RhH(CCtBu)(NH3)(O=CMe2)(PiPr3) 2]PF6 (20) was isolated which in CH2Cl2 solution smoothly reacted to give 19 (R =tBu). The cationic but-2-yne compound trans-[Rh(MeCCMe)(NH3)(Pi Pr3)2]PF6 (21) was prepared from 1, NH4PF6 and C2Me2. The molecular structures of 3 and 14 were determined by X-ray crystallography; in both cases the square-planar coordination around the metal and the trans disposition of the phosphine ligands was confirmed.

Abstract

The preparation, characterization and electrochemical and photophysical properties of a series of desymmetrized heteroleptic [Cu(P^P)(N^N)][PF6] compounds are reported. The complexes incorporate the chelating P^P ligands bis(2-(diphenylphosphanyl)phenyl)ether (POP) and (9,9-dimethyl-9H-xanthene-4,5-diyl)bis(diphenylphosphane) (xantphos), and 6-substituted 2,2′-bipyridine (bpy) derivatives with functional groups attached by –(CH2)n– spacers: 6-(2,2′-bipyridin-6-yl)hexanoic acid (1), 6-(5-phenylpentyl)-2,2′-bipyridine (2) and 6-[2-(4-phenyl-1H-1,2,3,triazol-1-yl)ethyl]-2,2′-bipyridine (3). [Cu(POP)(1)][PF6], [Cu(xantphos)(1)][PF6], [Cu(POP)(2)][PF6], [Cu(xantphos)(2)][PF6], and [Cu(xantphos)(3)][PF6] have been characterized in solution using multinuclear NMR spectroscopy, and the single crystal structure of [Cu(xantphos)(3)][PF6].0.5Et2O was determined. The conformation of the 6-[2-(4-phenyl-1H-1,2,3,triazol-1-yl)ethyl]-substituent in the [Cu(xantphos)(3)]+ cation is such that the α- and β-CH2 units reside in the xanthene ‘bowl’ of the xantphos ligand. The 6-substituent desymmetrizes the structure of the [Cu(P^P)(N^N)]+ cation and this has consequences for the interpretation of the solution NMR spectra of the five complexes. The NOESY spectra and EXSY cross-peaks provide insight into the dynamic processes operating in the different compounds. For powdered samples, emission maxima are in the range 542–555 nm and photoluminescence quantum yields (PLQYs) lie in the range 13–28%, and a comparison of PLQYs and decay lifetimes with those of [Cu(xantphos)(6-Mebpy)][PF6] indicate that the introduction of the 6-substituent is not detrimental in terms of the photophysical properties.

A series of ruthenium alkenylacetylide complexes trans-[Ru{C≡CC(=CH2)R}Cl(dppe)2] (R=Ph ( 1 a ), cC4H3S ( 1 b ), 4-MeS-C6H4 ( 1 c ), 3,3-dimethyl-2,3-dihydrobenzo[b]thiophene (DMBT) ( 1 d )) or trans-[Ru{C≡C-cC6H9}Cl(dppe)2] ( 1 e ) were allowed to react with the corresponding propargylic alcohol HC≡CC(Me)R(OH) (R=Ph ( A ), cC4H3S ( B ), 4-MeS-C6H4 ( C ), DMBT ( D ) or HC≡C-cC6H10(OH) ( E ) in the presence of TlBF4 and DBU to presumably give alkenylacetylide/allenylidene intermediates trans-[Ru{C≡CC(=CH2)R}{C=C=C(Me)}(dppe)2]PF6 ([ 2 ]PF6). These complexes were not isolated but deprotonated to give the isolable bis(alkenylacetylide) complexes trans-[Ru{C≡CC(=CH2)R}2(dppe)2] (R=Ph ( 3 a ), cC4H3S ( 3 b ), 4-MeS-C6H4 ( 3 c ), DMBT ( 3 d )) and trans-[Ru{C≡C-cC6H9}2(dppe)2] ( 3 e ). Analogous reactions of trans-[Ru(CH3)2(dmpe)2], featuring the more electron-donating 1,2-bis(dimethylphosphino)ethane (dmpe) ancillary ligands, with the propargylic alcohols A or C and NH4PF6 in methanol allowed isolation of the intermediate mixed alkenylacetylide/allenylidene complexes trans-[Ru{C≡CC(=CH2)R}{C=C=C(Me)}(dmpe)2]PF6 (R=Ph ([ 4 a ]PF6), 4-MeS-C6H4 ([ 4 c ]PF6). Deprotonation of [ 4 a ]PF6 or [ 4 c ]PF6 gave the symmetric bis(alkenylacetylide) complexes trans-[Ru{C≡CC(=CH2)R}2(dmpe)2] (R=Ph ( 5 a ), 4-MeS-C6H4 ( 5 c )), the first of their kind containing the dmpe ancillary ligand sphere. Attempts to isolate bis(allenylidene) complexes [Ru{C=C=C(Me)R}2(PP)2]2+ (PP=dppe, dmpe) from treatment of the bis(alkenylacetylide) species 3 or 5 with HBF4 ⋅ Et2O were ultimately unsuccessful.

The organic salts 1‐(2‐pyridylmethyl)‐3‐alkylbenzimidazolium halide (pm‐RbH +X) and 1‐(2‐pyridylmethyl)‐3‐alkylimidazolium halide (pm‐R′iH +X′) were prepared (where R = 4‐, 3‐, 2‐fluorobenzyl ( 4f , 3f , and 2f , respectively), 4‐, 3‐, 2‐chlorobenzyl ( 4c , 3c , and 2c , respectively); 4‐methoxybenzyl (4mo); 2,3,4,5,6‐pentafluorobenzyl (f5); benzyl (b); and methyl (m)); X = Cl and Br; R′ = benzyl (b) and methyl (m); and X′ = Cl and I. From these salts, heteroleptic Ir(III ) complexes containing one N ‐heterocyclic carbene (NHC ) ligand [Ir(κ2‐ppy)22‐(pm‐Rb))]PF6 (R = 4f, 1 (PF6 ); 3f, 2 (PF6 ); 2f, 3 (PF6 ); f5b, 4 (PF6 ); 4c, 5 (PF6 ); 3c, 6 (PF6 ); 2c, 7 (PF6 ); 4mo, 8 (PF6 ); b, 9 (PF6 ); m, 10 (PF6 )) and [Ir(κ2‐ppy)22‐(pm‐R′i))]PF6 (R = b, 11 (PF6 ); m, 12 (PF6 )), were synthesized, and the crystal structures of 1 (PF6 ), 2 (PF6 ), 3 (PF6 ), 5 (PF6 ), 6 (PF6 ), 7 (PF6 ), 9 (PF6 ), 10 (PF6 ), and 12 (PF6 ) were determined by X‐ray diffraction. The neutral NHC ligands 1‐(2‐pyridylmethyl)‐3‐alkylbenzimidazolin‐2‐ylidene (pm‐Rb) and 1‐(2‐pyridylmethyl)‐3‐alkylimidazolin‐2‐ylidene (pm‐R′i) of all cations were found to be involved in the intermolecular π−π stacking interactions with the surrounding cations in the solid state, thereby probably influencing the photophysical behavior in the solid state and in solution. The absorption and emission properties of all the complexes show only small variations.

Alcohols are oxidized by N‐methylmorpholine‐N‐oxide (NMO), ButOOH and H2O2 to the corresponding aldehydes or ketones in the presence of catalyst, [RuH(CO)(PPh3)2(SRaaiNR′)]PF6 ( 2 ) and [RuCl(CO)(PPh3)(SκRaaiNR′)]PF6 ( 3 ) (SRaaiNR′ ( 1 ) = 1‐alkyl‐2‐{(o‐thioalkyl)phenylazo}imidazole, a bidentate N(imidazolyl) (N), N(azo) (N′) chelator and SκRaaiNR′ is a tridentate N(imidazolyl) (N), N(azo) (N′), Sκ‐R is tridentate chelator; R and R′ are Me and Et). The single‐crystal X‐ray structures of [RuH(CO)(PPh3)2(SMeaaiNMe)]PF6 ( 2a ) (SMeaaiNMe = 1‐methyl‐2‐{(o‐thioethyl)phenylazo}imidazole) and [RuH(CO)(PPh3)2(SEtaaiNEt)]PF6 ( 2b ) (SEtaaiNEt = 1‐ethyl‐2‐{(o‐thioethyl)phenylazo}imidazole) show bidentate N,N′ chelation, while in [RuCl(CO)(PPh3)(SκEtaaiNEt)]PF6 ( 3b ) the ligand SκEtaaiNEt serves as tridentate N,N′,S chelator. The cyclic voltammogram shows RuIII/RuII (~1.1 V) and RuIV/RuIII (~1.7 V) couples of the complexes 2 while RuIII/RuII (1.26 V) couple is observed only in 3 along with azo reductions in the potential window +2.0 to ?2.0 V. DFT computation has been used to explain the spectra and redox properties of the complexes. In the oxidation reaction NMO acts as best oxidant and [RuCl(CO)(PPh3)(SκRaaiNR′)](PF6) ( 3 ) is the best catalyst. The formation of high‐valent RuIV=O species as a catalytic intermediate is proposed for the oxidation process. Copyright © 2014 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

To investigate how the central metalloligand geometry influences distant or vicinal metal‐to‐metal charge‐transfer (MMCT) properties of polynuclear complexes, cis‐ and trans‐isomeric heterotrimetallic complexes, and their one‐ and two‐electron oxidation products, cis/trans‐ [Cp(dppe)FeIINCRuII(phen)2CN‐FeII(dppe)Cp][PF6]2 (cis/trans‐ 1 [PF6]2), cis/trans‐[Cp(dppe)FeIINCRuII(phen)2CNFeIII‐(dppe)Cp][PF6]3 (cis/trans‐ 1 [PF6]3) and cis/trans‐[Cp(dppe)FeIIINCRuII(phen)2CN‐FeIII(dppe)Cp][PF6]4 (cis/trans‐ 1 [PF6]4) have been synthesized and characterized. Electrochemical measurements show the presence of electronic interactions between the two external FeII atoms of the cis‐ and trans‐isomeric complexes cis/trans‐ 1 [PF6]2. The electronic properties of all these complexes were studied and compared by spectroscopic techniques and TDDFT//DFT calculations. As expected, both mixed valence complexes cis/trans‐ 1 [PF6]3 exhibited different strong absorption signals in the NIR region, which should mainly be attributed to a transition from an MO that is delocalized over the RuII‐CN‐FeII subunit to a FeIII d orbital with some contributions from the co‐ligands. Moreover, the NIR transition energy in trans‐ 1 [PF6]3 is lower than that in cis‐ 1 [PF6]3, which is related to the symmetry of their molecular orbitals on the basis of the molecular orbital analysis. Also, the electronic spectra of the two‐electron oxidized complexes show that trans‐ 1 [PF6]4 possesses lower vicinal RuII→FeIII MMCT transition energy than cis‐ 1 [PF6]4. Moreover, the assignment of MMCT transition of the oxidized products and the differences of the electronic properties between the cis and trans complexes can be well rationalized using TDDFT//DFT calculations.

The facile access to the Vaska type fluorido complexes trans-[Ir(F)(CO)(PR3)2] [ 6 : R = Et, 7 : R = Ph, 8 : R = iPr, 9 : R = Cy, 10 : R = tBu] was achieved by halide exchange at trans-[Ir(Cl)(CO)(PR3)2] ( 1 – 5 ) with Me4NF. Furthermore, the reaction of complex 6 with SF4 gave cis,trans-[Ir(F)2(SF3)(CO)(PEt3)2] ( 11 ), whereas 8 – 10 did not react. Reactivity studies revealed that 11 can selectively be manipulated at the sulfur atom by hydrolysis or fluoride abstraction to give cis,trans-[Ir(F)2(SOF)(CO)(PEt3)2] ( 12 ) and cis,trans-[Ir(F)2(SF2)(CO)(PEt3)2][AsF6] ( 13 ), respectively.

The heterogeneous phase reaction of [Ru(η2-RL)(PPh3)2(CO)Cl] (1) with the sodium salts of dimethyl dithiocarbamate (MeDTC), diethyl dithiocarbamate (EtDTC), and pyrrolidine dithiocarbamate (PyrDTC) ligands led to the isolation of bright-yellow crystalline solids of type [Ru(η1-RL)(PPh3)2(CO)(R′DTC)] (2(R)(R′DTC)) where η2-RL is C6H2O-2-CHNHC6H4R(p)-3-Me-5, η1-RL is C6H2OH-2-CHNC6H4R(p)-3-Me-5, R is Me, OMe, Cl, and R = Me, Et, Pyr. The binding of dithiocarbamate ligand is accompanied by the dissociation of Ru-O and Ru-Cl bonds along with concomitant prototropic shift from iminium–phenolato to imine–phenol motif. The reaction also involves a sterically controlled change in rotational conformation in going to the products. The X-ray crystal structure of [Ru(η1-ClL)(PPh3)2(CO)(EtDTC)] (2(Cl)(EtDTC)) has been described here. An account of different spectral (UV–Vis, IR, NMR) and electrochemical data of the complexes are also asserted. Density functional theory (DFT) and time-dependent density functional theory (TD-DFT) analyses were performed to scrutinize the electronic structure and the absorption spectra of the complexes. One of the dithiocarbamato complexes has also been found to have in vitro antiproliferative properties against MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cell line which was determined by MTT assay. Cell death occurs mainly through apoptosis and flow cytometric analysis indicates that the complex induces cell cycle arrest in the sub G0/G1 phase.

Supported Organometallic Complexes. VI. Characterization und Reactivity of Polysiloxane-Bound (Ether-phosphane)ruthenium(II) Complexes The ligands PhP(R)CH2D [R = (CH3O)3Si(CH2)3; D = CH2OCH3 ( 1b ); D = tetrahydrofuryl ( 1c ); D = 1,4-dioxanyl ( 1d )] have been used to synthesize (ether-phosphane)ruthenium(II) complexes, which have been copolymerized with Si(OEt)4 to yield polysiloxane-bound complexes. The monomers cis,cis,trans-Cl2Ru(CO)2(P ~ O)2 ( 3b ) and HRuCl(CO)(P ~ O)3 ( 5b ) were treated with NaBH4 to form cis,cis,trans-H2Ru(CO)2(P ~ O)2 ( 4b ) and H2Ru(CO)(P ~ O)3 ( 6b ), respectively (P ~ O = η1-P coordinated; = η2- coordinated). Addition of Si(OEt)4 and water leads to a base catalyzed hydrolysis of the silicon alkoxy-functions and a precipitation of the immobilized counterparts 4b ′, 6b ′. The polysiloxane matrix resulting by this new sol gel route has been described under quantitative aspects by 29Si CP-MAS NMR spectroscopy. 4b ′ reacts with carbon monoxide to form Ru(CO)3(P ~ O)2 ( 7b ′). Chelated polysiloxane-bound complexes Cl2Ru( )2 ( 9c ′, d ′) and Cl2Ru( )(P ~ O)2 ( 10b ′, c ′) have been synthesized by the reaction of 1b–c with Cl2Ru(PPh3)3 ( 8 ) followed by a copolymerization with Si(OEt)4. The polysiloxane-bound complexes 9c ′, d ′ and 10b ′, c ′ react with one equivalent of CO to give Cl2Ru(CO)( )(P ~ O) ( 12b ′– d ′). Excess CO leads to the all-trans-complexes Cl2Ru(CO)2(P ~ O)2 ( 14b ′– d ′), which are thermally isomerized to cis,cis,trans- 3b ′– d ′. The chemical shift anisotropy of 31P in crystalline Cl2Ru( )2 ( 9a , R = Ph, D = CH2OCH3) has been compared with polysiloxane-bound 9d ′ indicating a non-rigid behavior of the complexes in the matrix.

Cationic distorted octahedral complexes [ReOCl(OEt)(L)(PPh3)]X {L = 2-(1-ethylaminomethyl)-1-methylimidazole (eami), 2-(1-methylaminomethyl)-1-methylimidazole (mami), 2-(1-ethylthiomethyl)-1-methylimidazole (etmi); X=ReO4, PF6} were prepared by reaction of trans-[ReOCl3(PPh3)2] with a twofold molar excess of L in ethanol under anaerobic conditions. X-ray structure determinations of [ReOCl(OEt)(eami)(PPh3)](ReO4) (1a) and its etmi equivalent (3a) were performed. In 1a coordination of the chloride occurs trans to the imidazole nitrogen. However, in 3a the chloride is coordinated trans to the ethereal sulfur donor of etmi.

The reaction of cis-[RuCl2(P–P)(N–N)] type complexes (P–P = 1,4-bis(diphenylphosphino)butane or (1,1′-diphenylphosphino)ferrocene; N–N = 2,2′-bipyridine or 1,10-phenantroline) with monodentate ligands (L), such as 4-methylpyridine, 4-phenylpyridine and benzonitrile forms [RuCl(L)(P–P)(N–N)]+ species. Upon characterization of the isolated compounds by elemental analysis, 31P{1H} NMR and X-ray crystallography it was found out that the type of the L ligand determines its position in relation to the phosphorus atom. While pyridine derivatives like 4-methylpyridine and 4-phenylpyridine coordinate trans to the phosphorus atom, the benzonitrile ligand (bzCN), a good π acceptor, coordinates trans to the nitrogen atom. A 31P{1H} NMR experiment following the reaction of the precursor cis-[RuCl2(dppb)(phen)] with the benzonitrile ligand shows that the final position of the entering ligand in the complex is better defined as a consequence of the competitive effect between the phosphorus atom and the cyano-group from the benzonitrile moiety and not by the trans effect. In this case, the benzonitrile group is stabilized trans to one of the nitrogen atoms of the N–N ligand. A differential pulse voltammetry experiment confirms this statement. In both experiments the [RuCl(bzCN)(dppb)(phen)]PF6 species with the bzCN ligand positioned trans to a phosphorus atom of the dppb ligand was detected as an intermediate complex.

Two stereoisomers of cis-[Ru(bpy)(pynp)(CO)Cl]PF6 (bpy = 2,2′-bipyridine, pynp = 2-(2-pyridyl)-1,8-naphthyridine) were selectively prepared. The pyridyl rings of the pynp ligand in [Ru(bpy)(pynp)(CO)Cl]+ are situated trans and cis, respectively, to the CO ligand. The corresponding CH3CN complex ([Ru(bpy)(pynp)(CO)(CH3CN)]2+) was also prepared by replacement reactions of the chlorido ligand in CH3CN. Using these complexes, ligand-centered redox behavior was studied by electrochemical and spectroelectrochemical techniques. The molecular structures of pynp-containing complexes (two stereoisomers of [Ru(bpy)(pynp)(CO)Cl]PF6 and [Ru(pynp)2(CO)Cl]PF6) were determined by X-ray structure analyses.

Summary The activities of the nicotine complexes of rhodium(III)-[RhCl3(nicH+)3](PF6)3 andtrans-[RhCl2(nic)4](PF6) (nicH+=monoprotonated S-nicotine, nic=unprotonated S-nicotine)—were studied onEscherichia coli B growing in a minimal glucose medium in both lag- and log-phases.[RhCl3(nicH+)3](PF6)3 at 50 ppm caused bacteriostasis, and at 100 ppm or more was bactericidal, whereastrans-[RhCl2(nic)4](PF6) at 50 ppm or more was bactericidal in the lag-phase. However [RhCl3(nicH+)3](PF6)3 delayed cell division ofEscherichia coli B just entering the log phase by two generation times, whereby the bacteria transformed from the normal unicellular shape to filamentous forms. Cytotoxicities are reported.

All of the complexes are identified by spectroscopic methods and complex 1 is determined by single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction.

The syntheses of cationic ruthenium(II) complexes [Ru(Me2-bpy)(PPh3)2RR?][PF6]x {Me2-bpy = 4,4?-dimethyl-2,2?-bipyridine, (3) R = Cl, R? = N≡CMe, x = 1, (4) R = Cl, R? = N≡CPh, x = 1, (5) R = R? = N≡CMe, x = 2} and [Ru(Me2-bpy)(κ2-dppf)RR?][PF6]x {dppf = 1,1?-bis(diphenylphosphino)ferrocene, (6) R = Cl, R? = N≡CMe, x = 1, (7) R = Cl, R? = N≡CPh, x = 1, (8) R = R? = N≡CMe, x = 2} are reported, together with their structural confirmation by NMR (31P, 1H) and IR spectroscopy and elemental analysis, and, in the case of trans-[Ru(Me2-bpy)(PPh3)2(N≡CCH3)Cl][PF6] (3), by X-ray crystallography. Electronic absorption and emission spectra of the complexes reveal that all complexes except 4 and 6 are emissive in the range 370–400 nm with 8 exhibiting an emission in the blue. Cyclic voltammetry studies of 3–8 show reversible or quasi-reversible redox processes at ca. 1 V, assigned to the Ru(II/III) couple.
