Five new tetrametallic supramolecules of the motif [{(TL)(2)M(dpp)}(2)Ru(BL)PtCl(2)](6+) and three new trimetallic light absorbers [{(TL)(2)M(dpp)}(2)Ru(BL)](6+) (TL = bpy = 2,2'-bipyridine or phen = 1,10-phenanthroline; M = Ru(II) or Os(II); BL = dpp = 2,3-bis(2-pyridyl)pyrazine, dpq = 2,3-bis(2-pyridyl)quinoxaline, or bpm = 2,2'-bipyrimidine) were synthesized and their redox, spectroscopic, and photophysical properties investigated. The tetrametallic complexes couple a Pt(II)-based reactive metal center to Ru and/or Os light absorbers through two different polyazine BL to provide structural diversity and interesting resultant properties. The redox potential of the M(II/III) couple is modulated by M variation, with the terminal Ru(II/III) occurring at 1.58-1.61 V and terminal Os(II/III) couples at 1.07-1.18 V versus Ag/AgCl. [{(TL)(2)M(dpp)}(2)Ru(BL)](PF(6))(6) display terminal M(dπ)-based highest occupied molecular orbitals (HOMOs) with the dpp(π*)-based lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (LUMO) energy relatively unaffected by the nature of BL. The coupling of Pt to the BL results in orbital inversion with localization of the LUMO on the remote BL in the tetrametallic complexes, providing a lowest energy charge separated (CS) state with an oxidized terminal Ru or Os and spatially separated reduced BL. The complexes [{(TL)(2)M(dpp)}(2)Ru(BL)](6+) and [{(TL)(2)M(dpp)}(2)Ru(BL)PtCl(2)](6+) efficiently absorb light throughout the UV and visible regions with intense metal-to-ligand charge transfer (MLCT) transitions in the visible at about 540 nm (M = Ru) and 560 nm (M = Os) (ε ≈ 33,000-42,000 M(-1) cm(-1)) and direct excitation to the spin-forbidden (3)MLCT excited state in the Os complexes about 720 nm. All the trimetallic and tetrametallic Ru-based supramolecular systems emit from the terminal Ru(dπ)→dpp(π*) (3)MLCT state, λ(max)(em) ≈ 750 nm. The tetrametallic systems display complex excited state dynamics with quenching of the (3)MLCT emission at room temperature to populate the lowest-lying (3)CS state population of the emissive (3)MLCT state. 相似文献

Bimetallic complexes of the form [(bpy)(2)Ru(BL)RhCl(2)(phen)](PF(6))(3), where bpy = 2,2'-bipyridine, phen = 1,10-phenanthroline, and BL = 2,3-bis(2-pyridyl)pyrazine (dpp) or 2,2'-bipyrimidine (bpm), were synthesized, characterized, and compared to the [{(bpy)(2)Ru(BL)}(2)RhCl(2)](PF(6))(5) trimetallic analogues. The new complexes were synthesized via the building block method, exploiting the known coordination chemistry of Rh(III) polyazine complexes. In contrast to [{(bpy)(2)Ru(dpp)}(2)RhCl(2)](PF(6))(5) and [{(bpy)(2)Ru(bpm)}(2)RhCl(2)](PF(6))(5), [(bpy)(2)Ru(dpp)RhCl(2)(phen)](PF(6))(3) and [(bpy)(2)Ru(bpm)RhCl(2)(phen)](PF(6))(3) have a single visible light absorber subunit coupled to the cis-Rh(III)Cl(2) moiety, an unexplored molecular architecture. The electrochemistry of [(bpy)(2)Ru(dpp)RhCl(2)(phen)](PF(6))(3) showed a reversible oxidation at 1.61 V (vs Ag/AgCl) (Ru(III/II)), quasi-reversible reductions at -0.39 V, -0.74, and -0.98 V. The first two reductive couples corresponded to two electrons, consistent with Rh reduction. The electrochemistry of [(bpy)(2)Ru(bpm)RhCl(2)(phen)](PF(6))(3) exhibited a reversible oxidation at 1.76 V (Ru(III/II)). A reversible reduction at -0.14 V (bpm(0/-)), and quasi-reversible reductions at -0.77 and -0.91 V each corresponded to a one electron process, bpm(0/-), Rh(III/II), and Rh(II/I). The dpp bridged bimetallic and trimetallic display Ru(dpi)-->dpp(pi*) metal-to-ligand charge transfer (MLCT) transitions at 509 nm (14,700 M(-1) cm(-1)) and 518 nm (26,100 M(-1) cm(-1)), respectively. The bpm bridged bimetallic and trimetallic display Ru(dpi)-->bpm(pi*) charge transfer (CT) transitions at 581 nm (4,000 M(-1) cm(-1)) and 594 nm (9,900 M(-1) cm(-1)), respectively. The heteronuclear complexes [(bpy)(2)Ru(dpp)RhCl(2)(phen)](PF(6))(3) and [{(bpy)(2)Ru(dpp)}(2)RhCl(2)](PF(6))(5) had (3)MLCT emissions that are Ru(dpi)-->dpp(pi*) CT in nature but were red-shifted and lower intensity than [(bpy)(2)Ru(dpp)Ru(bpy)(2)](PF(6))(4). The lifetimes of the (3)MLCT state of [(bpy)(2)Ru(dpp)RhCl(2)(phen)](PF(6))(3) at room temperature (30 ns) was shorter than [(bpy)(2)Ru(dpp)Ru(bpy)(2)](PF(6))(4), consistent with favorable electron transfer to Rh(III) to generate a metal-to-metal charge-transfer ((3)MMCT) state. The reported synthetic methods provide means to a new molecular architecture coupling a single Ru light absorber to the Rh(III) center while retaining the interesting cis-Rh(III)Cl(2) moiety. 相似文献

The paper examines the supramolecular effects at play during photosensitization by carboxylated Ru(II) sensitizers, both by experiment and by modeling. Experimentally, twelve Ru(II) complexes of pyrazolylpyridine and polypyridine ligands, including two benchmark complexes and two new species, were assessed as photosensitizers by measurement of the kinetics of methyl viologen cation radical (MV(*)(+)) generation through an oxidative, photoinduced electron transfer (PET) to methyl viologen (MV(2+)) under continuous irradiation in the presence of a sacrificial reductant. All complexes, luminescent or not, produced measurable amounts of MV(*)(+) in CH(3)CN. The assessment protocol was found to be useful with sensitizers of widely varying excited-state lifetimes (tau) as well as being easier and faster than conventional approaches. The seven sensitizers bearing peripheral COOH groups were found to be significantly more active than their non-carboxylated analogues, which is consistent with ionization of the COOH groups and electrostatic promotion of PET. Only the luminescent complexes were active in aqueous solvents, where tau appears to be the dominant effector. The benefits are exemplified by the singly carboxylated [Ru(H1)(bpy)(2)](2+) (H1 is 1-(4-carboxyphenyl)-3-(2-pyridyl)-4,5,6,7-tetrahydroindazole), a weakly luminescent sensitizer that was less active in aqueous solvents than [Ru(bpy)(3)](2+) (bpy is 2,2'-bipyridine), but which became the better sensitizer in CH(3)CN. Computationally, electrostatic field and dissociation energy calculations demonstrated that even a single peripheral COO(-) substituent suffices to provide supramolecular assistance: it defines a spheric "bubble" of electrostatically attractive space that is sufficiently large to allow the supramolecular preassociation of MV(2+), which provides an entropic advantage to PET that reduces the importance of tau in organic solvent. Calculations also show that the PET is electrostatically favored over its reverse (BET) even with cationic sensitizers because the "bubble" contracts after PET while the bulk medium becomes more repulsive, and favorable cation exchanges can occur to effect post-PET dissociation. Two peripheral COO(-) groups can define a two-point binding site for MV(2+) in an attractive sector of space that contracts to a kidney-shaped "bubble" after PET. This enables unimolecular PET while the reverse reaction remains bimolecular. The resultant benefits are illustrated with [Ru(Na1)(2)(bpy)](2+), a very weakly luminescent sensitizer that was totally inactive in H(2)O but appreciably active in CH(3)CN, despite the need to displace Na(+) in order to derive any electrostatic benefit. The Marcus free energies of activation for PET and BET corroborate the benefits of carboxylation, solvent, and other factors and correlated with the experimental rate constants. 相似文献

Treatment of trans-[PtCl4(RCN)2] (R = Me, Et, Ph, NEt2) with 2 equiv of the amidine PhC(=NH)NHPh in a suspension of MeCN (R = Me), CHCl3 (R = Et, Ph), or in CHCl3 solution (R = NEt2) results in the formation of the imidoylamidine complexes trans-[PtCl4{NH=C(R)N=C(Ph)NHPh}2] (1-4) isolated in good yields (66-84%). The reaction of soluble complexes 3 and 4 with 2 equiv of Ph3P=CHCO2Me in CH2Cl2 (40 degrees C, 5 h) leads to dehydrochlorination resulting in a chelate ring closure to furnish the platinum(IV) chelates [PtCl2{NH=C(R)NC(Ph)=NPh}2] (R = Ph, 5; R = NEt2, 6), accordingly, and the phosphonium salt [Ph3PCH2CO2Me]Cl. Treatment of 5 with 3 equiv of Ph3P=CHCO2Me at 50 degrees C for 5 d resulted in only a 30% conversion to the corresponding Pt(II) complex [Pt{NH=C(NEt2)NC(Ph)=NPh}2] (15). The reduction can be achieved within several minutes, when Ph2PCH2CH2PPh2 in CDCl3 is used. When the platinum(II) complex trans-[PtCl2(RCN)2] is reacted with 2 equiv of the amidine, the imidoylamidinato complexes [PtCl(RCN){NH=C(R)NC(Ph)=NHPh}] (8-11) and [PhC(=NH)NHPh] x HCl (7) are formed. The reaction of trans-[PtCl2(RCN)2] with 4 equiv of the amidine under a prolonged reaction time or treatment of [PtCl(RCN){NH=C(R)NC(Ph)=NHPh}] (8-11) with 2 more equiv of the amidine yields the complex bearing two chelate rings [Pt{NH=C(R)NC(Ph)=NHPh}2] (12-15). The treatment of cis-[PtCl2(RCN)2] (R = Me, Et) with the amidine gives ca. 50-60% yield of [PtCl2{NH=C(R)NHC(Ph)=NHPh}] (16 and 17). All of the platinum compounds were characterized by elemental analyses; FAB mass spectrometry; IR spectroscopy; 1H, 13C{1H}, and 195Pt NMR spectroscopies, and four of them (4, 6, 8, and 15) were also characterized by X-ray crystallography. The coupling of the Pt-bound nitriles and the amidine is metal-mediated insofar as RCN and PhC(=NH)NHPh do not react in the absence of the metal centers in conditions more drastic than those of the observed reactions. The nitrile-amidine coupling reported in this work constitutes a route to the synthesis of imidoylamidine complexes, some of them exhibiting luminescent properties. 相似文献

Photophysical properties of Ru(II) bipyridyl complexes containing hemilabile phosphine-ether ligands
Emission and absorbance spectra, along with low-temperature excited-state lifetimes, were obtained for the hemilabile complexes, [Ru(bpy)2L](PF6)2 [L = (2-methoxyphenyl)diphenylphosphine (RuPOMe) (1) and (2-ethoxyphenyl)diphenylphosphine (RuPOEt) (2)] in solid 4:1 ethanol/methanol solution. Spectral data were evaluated with ground-state reduction potentials using Lever parameters. Lifetime data for these complexes were collected from 77 to 160 K, and the rate constant for the combined radiative and nonradiative decay process, k, the thermally activated process prefactor, k'(0), the rate constant for the MLCT --> d-d transition, k', and the activation energy, DeltaE', were calculated from a plot of ln(1/tau) versus 1/T for both (1) and (2). The low-temperature luminescence lifetimes of (1) were observed to decrease with increases in water concentration. The photophysical and kinetic data of (1) and (2) are compared to literature data for [Ru(bpy)3](PF6)2. The emission maxima of (1) and (2) are blue-shifted relative to [Ru(bpy)3](PF6)2 due to the presence of the strong-field phosphine ligand, which enhances pi back-bonding to the bipyridyl ligands. The thermal activation energy, DeltaE', is significantly larger for [Ru(bpy)3](PF6)2 than for (1) and (2) resulting in a faster MLCT --> d-d transition for (1) and (2). These results are discussed in the context of radiationless decay through thermally activated ligand-field states on the metal complex. 相似文献

Two pseudo-para substituted bis-diimino[2.2]paracyclophane ligands (4,16-bis(picolinaldimine)-[2.2]paracyclophane (BPPc) and 4,16-bis(methyl-picolinaldimine)-[2.2]paracyclophane (BmPPc)) were prepared by the condensation reaction of the appropriate picolinaldimine with 4,16-diamino-[2.2]paracyclophane (2). An improved synthesis of 2 from [2.2]paracyclophane also is reported. BPPc (3a): monoclinic, P2(1)/c, a = 8.2238(11) A, b = 15.336(2) A, c = 8.4532(11) A, beta = 98.578(3) degrees, V = 1054.2(2) A(3), Z = 2. To investigate the binding properties of the bis-diimino[2.2]paracyclophane ligands, binuclear rhenium(I) tricarbonyl chloride complexes [Re(CO)(3)Cl](2)(micro-BPPc) (5a) and [Re(CO)(3)Cl](2)(micro-BmPPc) (5b) were prepared and fully characterized by infrared spectroscopy, (1)H NMR spectroscopy, elemental analysis, UV-visible absorption spectroscopy, and cyclic voltammetry. Two model complexes, Re(tolyl-pyCa)(CO)(3)Cl (4) (tolyl-pyCa = N-(p-tolyl)-2-pyridinecarboxaldimine) and [Re(CO)(3)Cl](2)(micro-PBP) (6) (PBP = p-phenylenebis(picolinaldimine)), also are reported. The dimeric compounds 5 and 6 each undergo two one-electron, predominantly diimine-centered reduction processes. Spectroscopic data and comproportionation constants (5a, 23 +/- 9; 5b, 23 +/- 9; 6, 2750 +/- 540) are consistent with relatively weak interactions between the diimine groups mediated by the paracyclophane bridging group, and these results are consistent with steric and electronic factors. 相似文献

The series of complexes [XRu(CO)(L-L)(L′)2][PF6] (X = H, TFA, Cl; L-L = 2,2′-bipyridyl, 1,10-phenanthroline, 5-amino-1,10-phenanthroline and 4,4′-dicarboxylic-2,2′-bipyridyl; L′2 = 2PPh3, Ph2PC2H4PPh2, Ph2PCHCHPPh2) have been synthesized from the starting complex K[Ru(CO)3(TFA)3] (TFA = CF3CO2) by first reacting with the phosphine ligand, followed by reaction with the L-L and anion exchange with NaPF6. In the case of L-L = phenanthroline and L′2 = 2PPh3, the neutral complex Ru(Ph3P)(CO)(1,10-phenanthroline)(TFA)2 is also obtained and its solid state structure is reported. Solid state structures are also reported for the cationic complexes where L-L = phenanthroline, L2 = 2PPh3 and X = Cl and for L-L = 2,2′-bipyridyl, L2 = 2PPh3 and X = H. All the complexes were characterized in solution by a combination of 1H and 31P NMR, IR, mass spectrometry and elemental analyses. The purpose of the project was to synthesize a series of complexes that exhibit a range of excited-state lifetimes and that have large Stokes shifts, high quantum yields and high intrinsic polarizations associated with their metal-to-ligand charge-transfer (MLCT) emissions. To a large degree these goals have been realized in that excited-state lifetimes in the range of 100 ns to over 1 μs are observed. The lifetimes are sensitive to both solvent and the presence of oxygen. The measured quantum yields and intrinsic anisotropies are higher than for previously reported Ru(II) complexes. Interestingly, the neutral complex with one phosphine ligand shows no MLCT emission. Under the conditions of synthesis some of the initially formed complexes with X = TFA are converted to the corresponding hydrides or in the presence of chlorinated solvents to the corresponding chlorides, testifying to the lability of the TFA Ligand. The compounds show multiple reduction potentials which are chemically and electrochemically reversible in a few cases as examined by cyclic voltammetry. The relationships between the observed photophysical properties of the complexes and the nature of the ligands on the Ru(II) is discussed. 相似文献

A novel Ru(II) complex possessing two sequentially linked viologen units, Ru-V(1)-V(2)(6+), was synthesized and characterized. Upon excitation of the Ru(II) unit (lambda(exc) = 532 nm, fwhm approximately 10 ns), a long-lived charge-separated (CS) state is observed (tau = 1.7 micros) by transient absorption spectroscopy. Unlike Ru(bpy)(3)(2+), which cleaves DNA upon photolysis through the formation of reactive oxygen species, such as (1)O(2) and O(2)(-), the photocleavage of plasmid DNA by Ru-V(1)-V(2)(6+) is observed both in air and under N(2) atmosphere (lambda(irr) > 395 nm). 相似文献

Electrochemical properties of cyanide-bridged metal squares, [Ru(4)](4+) and [Rh(2)-Ru(2)](6+), clearly demonstrate the role of the nearest (NN) metal moiety in mediating the next-nearest neighbor (NNN) metal-to-metal electronic coupling. The differences in electrochemical potentials for successive oxidations of equivalent Ru(II) centers in [Ru(4)](4+) are ΔE(1/2) = 217 mV and 256 mV and are related to intense, dual metal-to-metal-charge-transfer (MMCT) absorption bands. This contrasts with a small value of ΔE(1/2) = 77 mV and no MMCT absorption bands observed to accompany the oxidations of [Rh(2)-Ru(2)](6+). These observations demonstrate NN-mediated superexchange mixing by the linker Ru of NNN Ru(II) and Ru(III) moieties and that this mixing results in a NNN contribution to the ground state stabilization energy of about 90 ± 20 meV. In contrast, the classical Hush model for mixed valence complexes with the observed MMCT absorption parameters predicts a NNN stabilization energy of about 6 meV. The observations also indicate that the amount of charge delocalization per Ru(II)/Ru(III) pair is about 4 times greater for the NN than the NNN couples in these CN-bridged complexes, which is consistent with DFT modeling. A simple fourth-order secular determinant model is used to describe the effects of donor/acceptor mixing in these complexes. 相似文献

Nine Ru(II) complexes containing the conjugated oligothiophene ligands 3,3'-bis(diphenylphosphino)-2,2':5',2'-terthiophene (P(2)T(3)) and 4',3'-bis(diphenylphosphino)-3,3'-dihexyl- 2,2':5',2':5',2':5',2'-pentathiophene (P(2)T(5)) were prepared and characterized. P(2)T(3) and P(2)T(5) bond as tridentate ligands and three of the complexes (1, 2 and 5) form green five-coordinate Ru(II) complexes in solution. Cyclic voltammetry, variable temperature UV-vis spectroscopy and time-resolved transient absorption spectroscopy were used to characterize the electronic properties of the complexes. Increased conjugation in the complexes containing the P(2)T(5) ligand resulted in a lowering of the oxidation potential of the oligothiophene, but electropolymerization was not observed. The electronic spectra were dominated by π-π* transitions. All of the complexes were non-emissive both at room temperature and low temperature, indicating the excited state decays by other, non-radiative pathways. The transient absorption spectrum of complex 7 shows a species with a band at 475 nm and a lifetime of ~100 ns, assigned to a ligand-based triplet state. 相似文献

N-substituted dppa ligands Ph2P-NR-PPh2 [R = -CH2CH2SCH2C6H5 (1), -CH2CH2S(CH2)5CH3 (2), -(CH2)9CH3 (3), -C6H5 (4)] were used for the synthesis of cis-[PtCl2{Ph2PN(R)PPh2}] complexes [R = -CH2CH2SCH2C6H5 (5), -CH2CH2S(CH2)5CH3 (6), -(CH2)9CH3 (7), -C6H5 (8)] and heterotrinuclear clusters of formula [PtCo2(CO)7{Ph2PN(R)PPh2}] [R = -CH2CH2SCH2C6H5 (9), -CH2CH2S(CH2)5CH3 (10), -(CH2)9CH3 (11), -C6H5 (12)]. The presence of relatively bulky substituents on N resulted in a higher chelating power of the ligands. The thermodynamic study of the equilibrium between the chelate and the bridged forms of clusters 9-11 showed that the bridged form is favoured by enthalpic factors whereas entropic factors favour chelation. The structures of 5 and 9 were determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction. 相似文献

Treatment of a dinuclear Ru(II) amido complex [Cp*Ru(mu2-NHPh)]2 (Cp* = eta5-C5Me5) with small organic substrates including CO, tert-butyl isocyanide, a sulfur ylide Ph2S=CH2, and diphenylacetylene resulted in an unexpected disproportionation reaction of the bridging amido ligands to produce a free amine and a series of imido-bridged diruthenium complexes [(Cp*Ru)2(mu2-L)(mu2-NPh)] (L = CO, t-BuNC, CH2). In the case of diphenylacetylene, the bridging imido ligand underwent subsequent coupling reaction with the coordinated alkyne to form an iminoalkenyl complex [(Cp*Ru)2(mu2-PhNCPhCPh)]. 相似文献

Two hetero-tritopic bridging ligands L1 and L2 based on 2,2′-bipyridine and 1,10-phenanthroline moieties, and their corresponding Ru(II) complexes [{Ru(bpy)2}3(µ3?L1)](PF6)6 and [{Ru(bpy)2}3(µ3?L2)](PF6)6 (bpy = 2,2′-bipyridine), were synthesized. The molecular structures of both complexes were deduced by 1H NMR, ESI-MS, ESI-HRMS, elemental analyses, and IR spectroscopy. Quantum calculations on the free bridging ligands and their complexes are also presented. Both complexes display MLCT absorptions at around 454 nm, and emissions at around 613 nm in CH3CN solution at room temperature and at around 590 nm in EtOH–MeOH glassy matrix at 77 K. Cyclic and differential pulse voltammetry studies of both complexes reveal one reversible Ru(II)-centered oxidation and three reversible ligand-centered reductions, in each case. 相似文献

The ligands D((CH(2))(2)NHPiPr(2))(2) (D = NH 1, S 2) react with (dme)NiCl(2) or (PhCN)(2)MCl(2) (M = Pd, Pt) to give complexes of the form [D((CH(2))(2)NHPiPr(2))(2)MX]X (X = Cl, I; M = Ni, Pd, Pt) which were converted to corresponding iodide derivatives by reaction with Me(3)SiI. Reaction of 1 or 2 with (COD)PdMeCl affords facile routes to [κ(3)P,N,P-NH((CH(2))(2)NHPiPr(2))(2)PdMe]Cl (8a) and [κ(3)P,S,P-S((CH(2))(2)NHPiPr(2))(2)PdMe]Cl (9a) in high yields. An alternative synthetic approach involves oxidative addition of MeI to a M(0) precursor yielding [κ(3)P,N,P-HN(CH(2)CH(2)NHPiPr(2))(2)NiMe]I (10), [κ(3)P,N,P-HN(CH(2)CH(2)NHPiPr(2))(2)MMe]I (M = Pd 8b Pt 11) and [κ(3)P,S,P-S(CH(2)CH(2)NHPiPr(2))(2)MMe]I (M = Pd 9b, Pt 12). Alternatively, use of NEt(3)HCl in place of MeI produces the species [κ(3)P,N,P-HN(CH(2)CH(2)NHPiPr(2))(2)MH]X (X = Cl, M = Ni 13a, Pd 14a, Pt 16a). The analogs containing 2; [κ(3)P,S,P-S((CH(2))(2)NHPiPr(2))(2)MH]X (M = Pd, X = PF(6)15: M = Pt, X = Br, 17a, PF(6)17b) were also prepared in yields ranging from 74-93%. In addition, aryl halide oxidative addition was also employed to prepare [κ(3)P,N,P-HN(CH(2)CH(2)NHPiPr(2))(2)MC(6)H(4)F]Cl (M = Ni 18, Pd 19) and [κ(3)P,S,P-S((CH(2))(2)NHPiPr(2))(2)Pd(C(6)H(4)F)]Cl (20). Crystal structures of 3a, 4a, 5a, 6a, 8a, 9a, 14b and 16b are reported. 相似文献

New homonuclear dimeric Pd(ii) complexes have been synthesized by the reaction of Pd(en)(2+) or Pd(bipy)(2+) (where en = ethylenediamine and bipy = 2,2'-bipyridine) units with acetamide or by the Pd(ii) mediated hydrolysis of CH(3)CN. In these dimers the two metal centers are bridged by either two amidates or by the combination of one hydroxo group and one amidate ligand. The crystal structures of complexes {[Pd(bipy)](2)(micro-1,3-CH(3)CONH)(2)}(NO(3))(2).H(2)O.1/2(CH(3))(2)CO.1/2CH(3)CN () and {[Pd(bipy)](2)(micro-1,3-CH(3)CONH)(2)}(OTf)(2) () showed intrametallic Pd-Pd distances of 2.8480(8) A () and 2.8384(7) A (), respectively, in accordance with the accepted values for a strong Pd-Pd interaction. The presence of pi[dot dot dot]pi interactions between the bipyridine ligands on the di-micro-amidate complexes of Pd(bipy)(2+) shortens the distance between the two Pd centers and allows the formation of the metal-metal interaction. By contrast, the crystal structure of complex {[Pd(en)](2)(micro-1,3-CH(3)CONH)(2)}(OTf)(2).H(2)O (), (where OTf = triflate) where there is no pi[dot dot dot]pi interaction between the ligands on the metal centers, is also reported, and no Pd-Pd interaction is observed. Additionally, one of the complexes, {[Pd(en)](2)(micro-OH)(micro-CH(3)CONH)}(NO(3))(2) (), presents an interesting hydrogen bonded 3-D network formed by nitrate ions and water molecules. All complexes have been characterized by infrared and (1)H NMR spectroscopy. 相似文献

A series of 1,10-phenanthrolines were prepared having additional ligating substituents at the 2,9-positions. These substituents were either a 4-substituted pyrid-2-yl, quinolin-2-yl, 1,8-naphthyrid-2-yl, N-methyl imidazo-2-yl, or N-methyl benzimidazo-2-yl group. Additionally, 3,6-di-(pyrid-2'-yl)-dipyrido[3,2-a:2',3'-c]phenazine was prepared. All but two of these ligands coordinated Ru(II) in a tetradentate equatorial fashion with two 4-methylpyridines bound in the axial sites. An X-ray structure analysis of the diimidazoyl system indicates considerable distortion from square planar geometry in the equatorial plane. Previously reported variations in the axial ligand for such complexes appear to have a stronger effect on the electronic absorption and redox properties of the system than similar changes in the equatorial ligand. In the presence of excess Ce(IV) as a sacrificial oxidant at pH 1, all the systems examined catalyze the decomposition of water to generate oxygen. Turnover numbers are modest, ranging from 146 to 416. 相似文献

The synthesis and the experimental and theoretical characterization of ruthenium hydride complexes containing phosphorus and polypyridine ligands [RuH(CO)(N-N)(PPh3)2]+ with N-N = dppz 1, dppz-CH32 (2.1 isomer), dppz-Cl 3 (3.1 isomer), ppl 4, and 2,2′-biquinoline 5, (where dppz = dipyrido[3,2-a:2′,3′-c]phenazine), are presented. 1H NMR, 31P NMR, 13C NMR, IR-FT, UV-Vis and elemental analysis are used to characterize the complexes. Optimized molecular geometries in the gas phase at the B3LYP/LACVP(d,p) level showed a distorted octahedral structure for ruthenium, the phosphine ligands are localized in a trans position, while the polypyridine ligand, which in all the cases is planar except in 5, adopt a trans position relative to the carbon monoxide and hydride ligands. The theoretical absorption spectra (one hundred excited states) were calculated for the seven complexes by the time dependent density functional theory (TD-DFT) in the gas phase. They predicted very well the UV-Vis spectra. It was possible to identify the character of each electronic transition and the fragments of the complexes involved in it. Theoretical evidence of the substituent effect in the polypyridine ligand and of the ligand effect (dppz, biq, ppl) was found, displayed mainly in the longer wavelength band. The theoretical results showed that the properties of these complexes can be tuned with changes localized in the polypyridine ligand covalently bonded to ruthenium. 相似文献
