The output frequencies of diode lasers spectrally narrowed by optical feedback have been stabilized to hyperfine components of the rotation-vibration transition R (92) 0–15 at λ = 793.23 nm. Laser linewidths of less than 100 kHz and frequency stabilities or 4×10−11 for τ = 1 s (square root of the Allan variance) were measured by beat experiments of two independent lasers. The influence of the iodine pressure on the linewidth and on the positions of the hyperfine components has been investigated. The total hyperfine pattern has been fitted with an effective hyperfine Hamiltonian to a standard deviation of 23 kHz.  相似文献

The hyperfine structure of the R(127) 11-5 line (633 nm) of 127I2 were investigated by means of the saturated fluorescence excited in the resonator of a single mode 3He-20Ne laser. Fourteen hyperfine components were detected in the tuning range of the laser at pressures from 15 to 240 mtorr.  相似文献

The hyperfine structure of the transitions 4f3(4Io)5d 3I5 o–4f3(4Io)6p?5I5 (578.77 nm) and 4f3(4Io)5d 3I6 o–4f3(4Io)6p? (J=5) (587.04 nm) of 141PrII has been measured by collinear laser‐ion‐beams spectroscopy. We further miniaturize a recently established silver-based negative-index metamaterial design. By comparing transmittance, reflectance, and phase-sensitive time-of-flight experiments with theory, we infer a real part of the refractive index of -0.6 at a 780 nm wavelength--which is visible in the laboratory.  相似文献

Spectra of saturated absorption of Sm atomic vapor from the ground state 7 F 0 and the first even metastable level 7 F 1, ε′=292.58 cm?1 of the 4f 66s 2 configuration to the odd level 4f 6(7 F)6s6p(3 P o)9 F 1 o , ε,=14863.85 cm?1 were recorded. The lines of the isotopic series were identified, and the hyperfine structure of lines in the spectra of isotopes with a nonzero nuclear spin was determined. The relative isotopic shifts and the hyperfine splitting of the even level 4f 66s 2(7 F 1) were determined.  相似文献

The broadening of hyperfine components of rotational transitions of the methyl cyanide molecule is considered in terms of the collision approximation based on the theory previously developed by the author. We report the observation and identification of over 50 new cw laser lines belonging to the B3∏?X1∑ system of I2 optically pumped by a single mode krypton ion laser. When pumping at 531 nm, simultaneous oscillation was achieved on up to 16 lines in the range 540 nm to 650 nm. This system offers considerable potential as a multi-wavelength laser source in interferometry.  相似文献

The transition frequencies of thei-component of the R(99)15-1 and thew-component of the R(85)26-0 transition in the B-X system of molecular127I2 have been determined with an overall relative standard uncertainty of 1.3 · 10?10. For this purpose a commercial linear dye laser has been modified and stabilized to the corresponding iodine line. This dye laser serves as a transportable frequency standard which is compared with the wavelength standards of the PTB. The evaluation of an experiment for testing special relativity at the test storage ring (TSR) in Heidelberg is based on the precision of the reported interferometric wavelength comparison.  相似文献

An experimental and theoretical investigation of the nonlinear transmission coefficient of ytterbium-holmium codoped silica fiber (YHF) at continuous-wave 978-nm pumping is reported. An analysis of the fiber absorption and luminescence spectra under 978-nm pumping reveals a variety of processes participating in the mixed (Yb3+, Ho3+) system: the energy transfer Yb3+ → Ho3+, the up-conversion and excited-state absorption in Ho3+, and the luminescence quenching due to the presence of Yb3+-Yb3+ ion pairs. These processes are shown to notably affect the transmission coefficient of YHF, which is reflected in a pronounced modification of its dependences on pump power, fiber length, and dopant concentrations, in comparison with the case of purely ytterbium-doped fiber (YF). A modeling of the experimentally measured dependences of the YHF transmission coefficient on pump power and fiber length allows us to obtain the coefficients addressing the energy transfer process Yb3+ → Ho3+ in YHF. A comparison of YHF and YF at the same pumping conditions reveals that, in YHF, a considerable part of the pump power absorbed in the Yb3+ subsystem is transferred into the Ho3+ subsystem; this results in an effective population of its 5 I 7 state and makes YHF promising for 2-μm lasing and amplifying.  相似文献

Si/Gd multilayers designed as narrowband reflective coatings near 63 nm were developed. The highest peak reflectance of 26.2% at a 5 degrees incident angle was obtained at 62 nm, and the spectral bandwidth was 7.3 nm FWHM. The fits for x-ray and extreme ultraviolet reflectance data of Si/Gd multilayers indicate the possibility of silicide formation at the Si-Gd interfaces. B(4)C, W, and SiN were deposited as interface barrier layers to improve the reflectance of Si/Gd multilayers. More than an 8% increase in reflectance was observed from the interface-engineered Si/W/Gd and Si/B(4)C/Gd multilayers.  相似文献

The detailed structure observed in the saturated absorption spectrum of I2129 vapor in the 633 nm wavelength region in the spectral interval reported by Knox and Pao, has been interpreted to be the overlap between the hyperfine lines of the 8-4 P(54) line of I2129 and the 6-3 P(33) line of the I127I129 vapor. In this assignment, the nuclear electric quadrupole and nuclear magnetic terms in the Hamiltonian were diagonalized exactly and certain molecular parameters were varied to obtain the best fit with the observed spectrum. For I2129, the calculated distance (separation) of the center of the 8-4 P(54) line from the line center of the Ne20 633 nm laser transition is 0.04 cm?1 and the RMS deviation between the theoretical and experimental hyperfine spectra is 0.3 MHz. Although the calculated frequency of R(60) transition in the 8-4 band is only 0.03 cm?1 from the center of the laser line, we conclude on the basis of the larger RMS error (0.5 MHz) that this latter transition is less likely to be that responsible for the structure discussed in this paper.  相似文献

The hyperfine structure splittings of the P(10)14-1, R(15)14-1, and R(99)15-1 transitions at 585 nm, P(62)17-1 at 576 nm, and P(80)21-1 at 565 nm in 127I2 are measured by heterodyne spectroscopy using two dye lasers. In addition, the absolute frequencies of the hyperfine components P(10)14-1 a15 and P(80)21-1 a10 are determined using a self-referenced frequency comb. These frequencies are used in an experiment testing relativistic time dilation by laser spectroscopy on a fast ion beam.  相似文献

The dependence of the extinction ratio of a 980-nm fiber polarizer with an Al film on the thickness of magnesium fluoride buffer layer has been experimentally and theoretically investigated. At the optimal thickness of the buffer layer, h b = 0.078 (normalized to the wavelength), extinction ratios of 23 and 41 dB were obtained for polarizers having fiber shell residual layers of 2.01 and 1.607 μm, respectively. The optimal thin-film structure is determined, which will make it possible to design polarizers with extinction ratios up to 100 dB.  相似文献

To study the solid Cu ablation in vacuum, two different laser sources operating at 1064 and 308 nm wavelength are employed at similar values of laser fluences. The infrared laser is a Q-switched Nd:Yag having 9 ns pulse width (INFN-LNS, Catania), while the ultraviolet one is a XeCl excimer having 20 ns pulse width (INFN-LEA, Lecce). Both experiments produced a narrow angular distribution of the ejected material along the normal to the target surface. The ablation showed a threshold laser power density, of about 7 and 3 J/cm2 at 1064 and 308 nm, respectively, below which the ablation effect was negligible. The laser interaction produces a plasma at the target surface, which expands very fast in the vacuum chamber. Time-of-flight (TOF) measurements of the ion emission indicated an average ion velocity of the order of 4.7×104 and 2.3×104 m/s for the infrared and ultraviolet radiation, respectively. We also estimated approximately the corresponding temperature of the plasma from which ions originated, i.e. about 106 and 105 K for IR and UV wavelength, respectively. A discussion of the analysis of the ablation mechanism is presented. At the used laser power densities the produced Cu ions showed ionisation states between 1+ and 5+ in both cases.  相似文献

This work is devoted to the technology of mask manufacturing and investigation of the characteristics of the reflective mask employed in the extreme ultraviolet lithography test bench designed at the Institute for Physics of Microstructures, Russian Academy of Sciences. The mask??s structure and composition have been optimized. The antireflecting (absorbing) coating and stop-layer materials that are used to etch the mask structure and the multilayer interference system, which reflects radiation at the operating wavelength, have been selected. The mask manufacturing technology is described. The measured reflective and geometrical characteristics of a mask (absorbing layer thicknesses, line widths, and line-edge roughnesses) are presented. A new direct method for certifying mask defects of 30 nm or more is proposed.  相似文献
