We present a new characterization of minimizing sequences and possible minimizers (all called the minimizing magnetizations) for a nonlocal micromagnetic-like energy (without the exchange energy). Our method is to replace the nonlocal energy functional and its relaxation with certain local integral functionals on divergence-free fields obtained by a two-step minimization of some auxiliary augmented functionals. Through this procedure, the minimization problem becomes equivalent to the minimization of a new local variational functional, called the dual variational functional, which has a unique minimizer. We then precisely characterize the minimizing magnetizations of original nonlocal functionals in terms of the unique minimizer of the dual variational functional. Finally, we give some remarks and ideas on solving the dual minimization problem.  相似文献

We analyze functional analytic aspects of axiomatic formulations of nonlocal and noncommutative quantum field theories. In particular, we completely clarify the relation between the asymptotic commutativity condition, which ensures the CPT symmetry and the standard spin-statistics relation for nonlocal fields, and the regularity properties of the retarded Green’s functions in momentum space that are required for constructing a scattering theory and deriving reduction formulas. This result is based on a relevant Paley-Wiener-Schwartz-type theorem for analytic functionals. We also discuss the possibility of using analytic test functions to extend the Wightman axioms to noncommutative field theory, where the causal structure with the light cone is replaced with that with the light wedge. We explain some essential peculiarities of deriving the CPT and spin-statistics theorems in this enlarged framework. __________ Translated from Teoreticheskaya i Matematicheskaya Fizika, Vol. 147, No. 2, pp. 257–269, May, 2006.  相似文献

We study the pointwise convergence and the Γ of a family of nonlocal functionals defined in \input amstex \loadmsbm $L^1_{\roman {loc}}(\Bbb R^n)$ to a local functional that depends on the gradient of u and on the set of discontinuity points of u. We apply this result to approximate a minimum problem introduced by Mumford and Shah to study edge detection in computer vision theory. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

In this paper, we establish the existence of two nontrivial solutions to a class of nonlocal hemivariational inequalities depending on two parameters. Our methods are based on critical point theory for non-differentiable functionals.  相似文献

A direct numerical method is considered, which is a generalization of the Euler method for nonlocal functionals depending on functions with differently signed deviations, and also for nonlocal functionals depending on functions of two independent variables.  相似文献

We prove a general result about the behaviour of minimizing sequences for nonlocal shape functionals satisfying suitable structural assumptions. Typical examples include functions of the eigenvalues of the fractional Laplacian under homogeneous Dirichlet boundary conditions. Exploiting a nonlocal version of Lions' concentration-compactness principle, we prove that either an optimal shape exists or there exists a minimizing sequence consisting of two “pieces” whose mutual distance tends to infinity. Our work is inspired by similar results obtained by Bucur in the local case.  相似文献

We study the existence of nonzero positive solutions of a class of systems of differential equations driven by fractional powers of the Laplacian. Our approach is based on the notion of fixed point index, and allows us to deal with nonlocal functional weights and functional boundary conditions. We present two examples to shed light on the type of functionals and growth conditions that can be considered with our approach.  相似文献

We prove the well-posed solvability of a nonlocal problem for evolution equations with nonnegative self-adjoint operators that have discrete spectrum and with boundary conditions in the space of linear continuous functionals of the type of ultra-distributions identified with formal Fourier series.  相似文献

In this paper we prove that the steepest descent of certain porous-medium type functionals with respect to the quadratic Wasserstein distance over a constrained (but not weakly closed) manifold gives rise to a nonlinear, nonlocal parabolic partial differential equation connected to the study of the asymptotic behavior of solutions for filtration problems. The result by Carlen and Gangbo on constrained optimization for steepest descent of the negative Boltzmann entropy in the Wasserstein space is generalized to porous-medium type functionals. An interesting feature of the resulting Fokker-Planck equation is the nonlocality of its drift term occurring at the same time as its nonlinearity.  相似文献

The aim of this paper is to study a class of nonlocal fractional Laplacian equations depending on two real parameters. More precisely, by using an appropriate analytical context on fractional Sobolev spaces due to Servadei and Valdinoci, we establish the existence of three weak solutions for nonlocal fractional problems exploiting an abstract critical point result for smooth functionals. We emphasize that the dependence of the underlying equation from one of the real parameters is not necessarily of affine type.  相似文献

We investigate an mth-order discrete problem with additional conditions, described by m linearly independent linear functionals. We find the solution to this problem and present a formula and the existence condition of Green??s function if the general solution of a homogeneous equation is known. We obtain a relation between Green??s functions of two nonhomogeneous problems. It allows us to find Green??s function for the same equation, but with different additional conditions. The obtained results are applied to problems with nonlocal boundary conditions.  相似文献

We study a second order nonlinear boundary value problem subject to some nonlocal boundary conditions, which models a thermostat. The sensors are linear functionals, one gives feedback from part of the interval to a controller at one endpoint, the other gives feedback to a controller at the other endpoint. We determine the Green’s function and establish its useful properties which enables us to establish the existence of multiple positive solutions and to prove nonexistence results. We calculate all relevant constants in some explicit examples.  相似文献

We study a nonlocal perimeter functional inspired by the Minkowski content, whose main feature is that it interpolates between the classical perimeter and the volume functional. This nonlocal functionals arise in concrete applications, since the nonlocal character of the problems and the different behaviors of the energy at different scales allow the preservation of details and irregularities of the image in the process of removing white noises, thus improving the quality of the image without losing relevant features. In this paper, we provide a series of results concerning existence, rigidity and classification of minimizers, compactness results, isoperimetric inequalities, Poincaré–Wirtinger inequalities and density estimates. Furthermore, we provide the construction of planelike minimizers for this generalized perimeter under a small and periodic volume perturbation.  相似文献

In this paper, we study local regularity properties of minimizers of nonlocal variational functionals with variable exponents and weak solutions to the corresponding Euler–Lagrange equations. We show that weak solutions are locally bounded when the variable exponent p is only assumed to be continuous and bounded. Furthermore, we prove that bounded weak solutions are locally Hölder continuous under some additional assumptions on p. On the one hand, the class of admissible exponents is assumed to satisfy a log-Hölder–type condition inside the domain, which is essential even in the case of local equations. On the other hand, since we are concerned with nonlocal problems, we need an additional assumption on p outside the domain.  相似文献

We consider simply generated trees, like rooted plane trees, and consider the problem of computing generating functions of so‐called bare functionals, like the tree factorial, using B‐series from Butcher's theory. We exhibit a special class of functionals from probability theory: the associated generating functions can be seen as limiting traces of product of semi‐circular elements. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. In this paper, the authors investigate the sharp threshold of a three-dimensional nonlocal nonlinear Schr\"{o}dinger system. It is a coupled system which provides the mathematical modeling of the spontaneous generation of a magnetic field in a cold plasma under the subsonic limit. The main difficulty of the proof lies in exploring the inner structure of the system due to the fact that the nonlocal effect may bring some hinderance for establishing the conservation quantities of the mass and of the energy, constructing the corresponding variational structure, and deriving the key estimates to gain the expected result. To overcome this, the authors must establish local well-posedness theory, and set up suitable variational structure depending crucially on the inner structure of the system under study, which leads to define proper functionals and a constrained variational problem. By building up two invariant manifolds and then making a priori estimates for these nonlocal terms, the authors figure out a sharp threshold of global existence for the system under consideration.  相似文献

We introduce linear functionals on an ordered cone that are minimal with respect to a given subcone. Using concepts developed for Choquet theory we observe that the properties of these functionals resemble those of positive Radon measures on locally compact spaces. Other applications include monotone functionals on cones of convex sets, H-integrals on H-cones in abstract potential theory, and classical Choquet theory itself.

The theory of coverings over differential equations is exposed which is an adequate language for describing various nonlocal phenomena: nonlocal symmetries and conservation laws, Bäcklund transformations, prolongation structures, etc. A notion of a nonlocal cobweb is introduced which seems quite useful for dealing with nonlocal objects.  相似文献
