A subgroup H of a finite group G is quasinormal in G if it permutes with every subgroup of G. A subgroup H of a finite group G is \(\mathfrak {F}_{hq}\)-supplemented in G if G has a quasinormal subgroup N such that HN is a Hall subgroup of G and \((H\cap N)H_{G}/ H_{G} \le Z_{\mathfrak {F}}(G/H_{G})\), where \(H_{G}\) is the core of H in G and \({Z}_{\mathfrak {F}} (G/H_{G})\) is the \(\mathfrak {F}\)-hypercenter of \({G/H}_{G}\). We study the stability in the $H^1$ -seminorm of the $L_2$ -projection onto finite element spaces in the case of nonuniform but shape regular meshes in two and three dimensions and prove, in particular, stability for conforming triangular elements up to order twelve and conforming tetrahedral elements up to order seven.  相似文献

A regular {v, n}-arc of a projective space P of order q is a set S of v points such that each line of P has exactly 0,1 or n points in common with S and such that there exists a line of P intersecting S in exactly n points. Our main results are as follows: (1) If P is a projective plane of order q and if S is a regular {v, n}-arc with n ≥ √q + 1, then S is a set of n collinear points, a Baer subplane, a unital, or a maximal arc. (2) If P is a projective space of order q and if S is a regular {v, n}-arc with n ≥ √q + 1 spanning a subspace U of dimension at least 3, then S is a Baer subspace of U, an affine space of order q in U, or S equals the point set Of U. © 1993 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

Let G be a finite group, and let $ \mathfrak{F} $ \mathfrak{F} be a formation of finite groups. We say that a subgroup H of G is $ \mathfrak{F}_h $ \mathfrak{F}_h -normal in G if there exists a normal subgroup T of G such that HT is a normal Hall subgroup of G and (HT)H G /H G is contained in the $ \mathfrak{F} $ \mathfrak{F} -hypercenter $ Z_\infty ^\mathfrak{F} $ Z_\infty ^\mathfrak{F} (G/H G ) of G/H G . We compare two concepts from distance geometry of finite sets: quasi-isometry and isometry. We show that for every n 3 5 n\geq5 there exist sets of n points in \mathbbRn-1 \mathbb{R}^{n-1} that are quasi-isometric and not isometric. By contrast, for finite sets in S1 we show that under some additional hypotheses, quasi-isometric sets are isometric.  相似文献
