The H-point standard addition method (HPSAM) was applied to the simultaneous determination of zinc(II) and cobalt(II). This method is based on the difference in the absorbance of methylthymol blue complexes of Zn(II) and Co(II) at pH 6 buffered solution in different wavelength pairs. The results showed that Zn(II) and Co(II) can be determined simultaneously with concentration ratios of 20:1 and 1:7.5. Under working conditions, the proposed method was successfully applied to the simultaneous determination of zinc and cobalt in synthetic and real samples.  相似文献

A cloud-point extraction (CPE) process using the nonionic surfactant Triton X-114 to simultaneous extraction and spectrophotometric determination of Zn(II), Co(II) and Ni(II) from aqueous solution using partial least squares (PLS) regression is investigated. The method is based on the color reaction of these cations with 1-(2-pyridylazo)2-naphthol and subsequent micelle-mediated extraction of products. The optimum extraction and reaction conditions such as pH, reagents concentration and effect of time have been studied. Linearity was obeyed in the range 2–150, 5–250 and 2–150 ng mL−1 of Zn(II), Co(II) and Ni(II) respectively. The relative standard error (RSE) for the simultaneous determination of 15 test samples of different concentrations of Zn(II), Co(II) and Ni(II) was 4.38%;, 1.18% and 2.42%, respectively. The total relative standard error (RSEt) for applying the PLS method to 15 synthetic samples in the linear ranges of these metals was 2.36%. The interference effect of some anions and cations was also tested. The method was applied to the simultaneous determination of Zn(II), Co(II) and Ni(II) in water and human urine samples.  相似文献

A very simple and selective spectrophotometric method for simultaneous determination of Co(II) and Ni(II) by 1-(2-pyridylazo) 2-naphthol (PAN), in micellar media, using H-point standard addition method (HPSAM) is described. The ligand and its metal complexes (Co(II)-PAN and Ni(II)-PAN) were made water-soluble by the neutral surfactant Triton X-100, and therefore, no extraction with organic solvents was required. Formation of both the complexes was complete within 10 min at pH 9 (adjusted by ammonia buffer). The linear range was 0.10-2.00 microg ml(-1) for Co(II) and 0.05-1.50 microg ml(-1) for Ni(II). The relative standard deviation (R.S.D.) for the simultaneous determination of 0.50 microg ml(-1) each of Co(II) and Ni(II) was 2.32 and 3.13%, respectively. Interference effects of common anions and cations were studied and the method was applied to simultaneous determination of Co(II) and Ni(II) in alloy samples. The method was compared with derivative spectrophotometric method.  相似文献

H-point standard addition method, HPSAM, with simultaneous addition of three analytes is proposed for the resolution of ternary mixtures. It is a modification of the previously described H-point standard addition method that permits the resolution of three species from a unique calibration set by making the simultaneous addition of the three analytes. The method calculates the analyte concentration from spectral data at two wavelengths where the two species selected as interferents present the same absorbance relationship. These wavelength pairs are easily found, and can be selected to give the most precise results. Diethyldithiocarbomate (DDC) in a cationic micellar solution of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) was used for determination of Fe(II), Co(II) and Cu(II) at pH 5.50. The results showed that simultaneous determination of Fe(II), Co(II) and Cu(II) could be preformed in the range of 0.0–6.0, 0.0–8.0 and 0.0–12.0 μg ml−1, respectively. The proposed method was successfully applied to the simultaneous determination of Fe(II), Co(II) and Cu(II) in several synthetic mixtures containing different concentration of Fe(II), Co(II) and Cu(II).  相似文献

A partial least squares (PLS-1) calibration model based on kinetic—spectrophotometric measurement, for the simultaneous determination of Cu(II), Ni(II) and Co(II) ions is described. The method was based on the difference in the rate of the reaction between Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) ions with 1-(2-pyridylazo)2-naphthol in a pH 5.8 buffer solution and in micellar media at 25°C. The absorption kinetic profiles of the solutions were monitored by measuring the absorbance at 570 nm at 2 s intervals during the time range of 0–10 min after initiation of the reaction. The experimental calibration matrix for the partial least squares (PLS-1) model was designed with 30 samples. The cross-validation method was used for selecting the number of factors. The results showed that simultaneous determination could be performed in the range 0.1-2 μg mL−1 for each cation. The proposed method was successfully applied to the simultaneous determination of Cu(II), Ni(II) and Co(II) ions in water and in synthetic alloy samples.   相似文献

In this work,we reported a simultaneous determination approach for Pb(II),Cd(II)and Zn(II)atμg L 1concentration levels using differential pulse stripping voltammetry on a bismuth film electrode(BiFE).The BiFE could be prepared in situ when the sample solution contained a suitable amount of Bi(NO)3,and its analytical performance was evaluated for the simultaneous determination of Pb(II),Cd(II)and Zn(II)in solutions. The determination limits were found to be 0.19μg L 1for Zn(II),and0.28μg L 1for Pb(II)and Cd(II),with a preconcentration time of 300 s.The BiFE approach was successfully applied to determine Pb(II),Cd(II)and Zn(II)in tea leaf and infusion samples, and the results were in agreement with those obtained using an atomic absorption spectrometry approach.Without Hg usage, the in situ preparation for BiFE supplied a green and acceptability sensitive method for the determination of the heavy metal ions.  相似文献

The reaction of 5,10,15,20-tetrakis(4-carboxylphenyl)porphyrin (TCPP) with Cd(II), Pb(II), Hg(II) and Zn(II) was studied spectrophotometrically and kinetics, equilibrium constants as well as photodecomposition of complexes were determined. It was verified that these metal ions with large radius accelerate the incorporation reaction of zinc into TCPP. On the basis of the mechanism and kinetics of this reaction, a sensitive method for the spectrophotometric determination of trace amounts of Zn(II) has been developed. The molar absorptivity of examined Zn-TCPP complex and Sandell's sensitivity at 423 nm were 3.5×105 M−1 cm−1 and 18.3 ng cm−2. The detection limit for the recommended procedure was 1.4×10−9 M (0.9 ng ml−1) and precision in range 20-100 ng ml−1 not exceeds 2.7% RSD. The proposed method applied for zinc determination in natural waters and nutritional supplement was compared with AAS results and declared value.  相似文献

Zinc finger domains consist of sequences of amino acids containing cysteine and histidine residues tetrahedrally coordinated to a zinc ion. The role of zinc in a DNA binding finger was considered purely structural due to the absence of redox chemistry in zinc. However, whether other metals e.g. Co(II) or Cd(II) can substitute Zn(II) is not settled. For an answer the detailed interaction of Co(II) and Cd(II) with cysteine methylester and histidine methylester has been investigated as a model for the zinc core in zinc fingers. The study was extended to different temperatures to evaluate the thermodynamic parameters associated with these interactions. The results suggest that zinc has a unique role.  相似文献

A new chelating matrix has been prepared by immobilising sulfanilamide (SA) on silica gel (SG) surface modified with 3-chloropropyltrimethoxysilane as a sorbent for the solid-phase extraction (SPE) Cu(II), Zn(II) and Ni(II). The determination of metal ions in aqueous solutions was carried out by inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES). Experimental conditions for effective sorption of trace levels of Cu(II), Zn(II) and Ni(II) were optimised with respect to different experimental parameters using the batch and column procedures. The presence of common coexisting ions does not affect the sorption capacities. The maximum sorption capacity of the sorbent at optimum conditions was found to be 34.91, 19.07 and 23.62 mg g?1 for Cu(II), Zn(II) and Ni(II), respectively. The detection limit of the method defined by IUPAC was found to be 1.60, 0.50 and 0.61 µg L?1 for Cu(II), Zn(II) and Ni(II), respectively. The relative standard deviation (RSD) of the method under optimum conditions was 4.0% (n = 8). The method was applied to the recovery of Cu(II), Zn(II) and Ni(II) from the certified reference material (GBW 08301, river sediment) and to the simultaneous determination of these cations in different water samples with satisfactory results.  相似文献

The H-point standard addition method (HPSAM) was applied to kinetic data for simultaneous determination of Fe(III) and Fe(II) or selective determination of Fe(III) in the presence of Fe(II). The method is based on the difference in the rate of two processes; reduction of Fe(III) with Co(II) and subsequent complex formation of resulted Fe(II) with 1,10-phenanthroline, and direct complex formation between Fe(II) and 1,10-phenanthroline in pH 3 and cetyl trimethyl ammonium bromide, CTAB, micellar media. Fe(III) can be determined in the range of 0.75-5.13 mug ml(-1)with satisfactory accuracy and precision in the presence of excess Fe(II) under working conditions. The proposed method was successfully applied to the simultaneous determination of Fe(III) and Fe(II) and also to the selective determination of Fe(III) in the presence of Fe(II) in several synthetic mixtures containing different concentration ratios of Fe(III) to Fe(II).  相似文献

In this paper, a flow-injection chemiluminescence (CL) system is proposed for simultaneous determination of Co(II) and Cr(III) with partial least squares calibration. This method is based on the fact that both Co(II) and Cr(III) catalyze the luminol-H(2)O(2) CL reaction, and that their catalytic activities are significantly different on the same reaction condition. The CL intensity of Co(II) and Cr(III) was measured and recorded at different pH of reaction medium, and the obtained data were processed by the chemometric approach of partial least squares. The experimental calibration set was composed with nine sample solutions using orthogonal calibration design for two component mixtures. The calibration curve was linear over the concentration range of 2 x 10(-7) to 8 x 10(-10) and 2 x 10(-6) to 4 x 10(-9) g/ml for Co(II) and Cr(III), respectively. The proposed method offers the potential advantages of high sensitivity, simplicity and rapidity for Co(II) and Cr(III) determination, and was successfully applied to the simultaneous determination of both analytes in real water sample.  相似文献

In this work for the first time, Fe3O4@SiO2 core–shell nanoparticles functionalized with isatin groups as a magnetic nanosorbent was applied for the simultaneous extraction of trace amounts of cadmium(II), nickel(II), lead(II), and zinc(II). The characterization of this nanosorbent was studied using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray spectrometry, X-ray diffraction, vibrating sample magnetometer and thermogravimetric analysis. The effect of several factors such as pH, amount of sorbent, extraction time, type and volume of the eluent, sample volume, sorption capacity, and potentially interfering ions was investigated. In the selected conditions, it was observed that the limits of detection were 0.11 ng mL?1 for Cd(II), 0.28 ng mL?1 for Ni(II), 0.47 ng mL?1 for Pb(II), and 0.21 ng mL?1 for Zn(II), and the maximum sorption capacity of this suggested magnetic nanosorbent was 120, 112, 100, and 100 mg g?1 for Cd(II), Ni(II), Pb(II), and Zn(II), respectively. Also, the precision of the method (RSD%) for ten replicate measurements was found 2.5, 2.5, 2.8, and 3.1%, for Cd(II), Ni(II), Pb(II), and Zn(II) ions, respectively. Finally, the suggested procedure was applied for determination of cadmium(II), nickel(II), lead(II), and zinc(II) at trace levels in different water and agricultural products with satisfactory results.  相似文献

Conditions are optimized for preparing sol-gel modified composite films based on silicon oxide and polyvinylsulfonic acid in the presence of the Tween 20 nonionic surfactant as a template for the adsorption of Fe(II) and Zn(II) phenanthrolinates. The adsorption of Zn(II), Cu(II), Mn(II), Co(II), and Ni(II) phenanthrolinates followed by their development on the surface with Rose Bengal oxyxanthene dye was studied by spectrophotometry. The variation of the pH of the solution pH and the addition of 0.01 M of EDTA enhanced the selectivity of determining Zn(II) using a film obtained under optimum conditions. The applicability of the proposed thin-film coatings to the adsorption-spectrophotometric determination of Fe(II) and Zn(II) in the ranges of 0.2–5.6 and 0.3–5.0 mg/L, respectively, was shown. The procedure was used to determine zinc in vitamin preparations, a food supplement, and an insulin preparation. The accuracy of determination was checked by atomic absorption spectrometry. The detection limit for zinc was 0.06 mg/L at a liquid phase volume of 25 mL and absorption layer thickness of 0.015 ± 0.003 mm.  相似文献

A simultaneous preconcentration procedure for the determination of Cd(II), Ni(II), Co(II) and Cu(II) by atomic absorption spectrometry is described. The method is based on solid phase extraction of the metal ions on dithizone loaded on naphthalene in a mini-column, elution with nitric acid and determination by flame atomic absorption spectrometry. The sorption conditions including NaOH concentration, sample volume and the amount of dithizone were optimized in order to attain the highest sensitivity. The calibration graph was linear in the range of 0.5–75.0 ng ml?1 for Cd(II), 1.0–150.0 ng ml?1 for Ni(II), 1.0–150.0 ng ml?1 for Co(II) and 1.0–125.0 ng ml?1 for Cu(II) in the initial solution. The limit of detection based on 3Sb was 0.13, 0.32, 0.33 and 0.43 ng ml?1 for Cd(II), Ni(II), Co(II) and Cu(II), respectively. The relative standard deviations (R.S.D) for ten replicate measurements of 20 ng ml?1of Cd(II), 100 ng ml?1 of Ni(II), Co(II) and 75 ng ml?1 of Cu(II) were 3.46, 2.43, 2.45 and 3.26%, respectively. The method was applied to the determination of Cd(II), Ni(II), Co(II) and Cu(II) in black tea, tap and river water samples.  相似文献

A very stable chelating resin matrix was synthesized by covalently linking o-vanillinthiosemicarbazone (oVTSC) with the benzene ring of the polystyrene-divinylbenzene resin Amberlite XAD-2 through a -NN- group. The resin was used successfully for the separation and preconcentration of copper(II), zinc(II) and lead(II) prior to their determination by atomic absorption spectrophotometry. The total sorption capacity of the resin was 850, 1500 and 2000 mug g(-1) of the resin for Cu(II), Zn(II) and Pb(II), respectively. For the quantitative sorption and recovery of Cu(II), Zn(II) and Pb(II), the optimum pH and eluants were pH 2.5-4.0 and 4 M HCl or 2 M HNO(3) for Cu(II), pH 5.5-6.5 and 1.0-2.0 M HCl for Zn(II) and pH 6.0-7.5 and 3 M HCl or 1 M HNO(3) for Pb(II). Both, the uptake and stripping of these metal ions were fairly rapid, indicating a better accessibility of the chelating sites. The t (1 2 ) values for Cu(II), Zn(II) and Pb(II) were also determined. Limit of tolerance of some electrolytes like NaCl, NaF, NaNO(3), Na(2)SO(4) and Na(3)PO(4) have been reported. The preconcentration factor for Cu(II), Zn(II) and Pb(II) was 90, 140 and 100 respectively. The method was applied for the determination of Cu(II), Zn(II) and Pb(II) in the water samples collected from Sabarmati river, Ahmedabad, India.  相似文献

A sensitive and selective method has been developed for the simultaneous determination of cadmium, zinc, nickel and cobalt. The method is based on the chelation of metal ions with 2-(8-quinolylazo)-4,5-diphenylimidazole (QAI) and the subsequent reversed-phase (RP) high-performance liquid chromatographic separation and spectrophotometric detection of the metal chelates. The chelates were separated on an RP column with acetonitrile-water containing ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid and sodium acetate (pH 7.5). Though Zn(II) and Cd(II) chelates with azo compounds were generally labile in the RP column, these chelates with QAI were successfully detected. When analyses were carried out at 575 nm and at 0.001 absorbance unit full scale, the peak height calibration curves were linear up to 2.0 ng for Cd(II), 2.4 ng for Zn(II), 0.14 ng for Ni(II) and 0.72 ng for Co(II) in 100-microL injections, respectively; the detection limits (3sigma, three times of the standard deviation for the blank signal) for Cd(II), Zn(II), Ni(II) and Co(II) were 4.8, 24, 2.4 and 7.2 pg in 100 microL of injected solution, respectively. The proposed method was successfully applied to the analysis of tobacco without any preliminary concentration or separation.  相似文献

A reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatographic separation and determination of beryllium(II), aluminium(III) and chromium(III) with chromotrope 2C chelates on a C18-bonded stationary phase is reported. Methanol-water (45:55 v/v) containing 6 x 10(-3)M tetra-n-butylammonium bromide (TBAB) and 2 x 10(-2)M acetate buffer solution (pH 6.0) as mobile phase and with spectrophotometric detection at 530 nm was applied. The method has high sensitivity, the detection limits being 0.2 ppb for beryllium(I), 1 ppb for aluminium(III) and 2 ppb for chromium(III). Under the optimum conditions, most other metal ions did not interfere, e.g. up to 2 mg of Hg(II), Sn(II, IV), Pb(II), Bi(III), Ag(I), Zn(II), Cd(II), Cu(II), 1.5 mg of Fe(II), Co(II), Ni(II), 1.2 mg of Ca(II), Mg(II), Sr(II), Ba(II), 1 mg of Ga(III), In(III), 0.5 mg of Fe(III), 1 mg of Ga(III), In(III), 0.5 mg of Fe(III), 0.4 mg of Th(IV), Zr(IV). The method can be applied to the simultaneous determination of trace amounts of beryllium(II), aluminium(III) and chromium(III), in water, rice, flour and human hair samples.  相似文献

A new approach for the analysis of Co(II), Ni(II) and Pd(II) as morpholine-4-carbodithioate (MDTC) complexes in aqueous medium by using solid phase microextraction (SPME)-high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC)-UV has been developed. The method involves sorption of metal complexes on PDMS fiber from aqueous solution followed by desorption in the desorption chamber of SPME-HPLC interface using acetonitrile:water (60:40) as mobile phase. A good separation of metal complexes is achieved on C18 column. The detection limits of Co(II), Ni(II) and Pd(II) are 0.17, 0.11 and 0.06 ng ml−1, respectively. These can be determined by the proposed method without interference from other common metal ions such as Mo(VI), V(V), Ag(I), Sn(IV), Cd(II), Pb(II), Zn(II), Ag(I), Sn(II), Cr(III) and Cr(VI). The method was applied to the determination of these metals in different alloy samples and drinking water sample.  相似文献

A sensitive and selective flotation procedure for the separation of microamounts of Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) separately or in admixture is described. The maximum separation rate (∼1) for 0.1 mmol/L of each analyte is achieved using 1 mmol/L of both oleic acid (HOL) surfactant and 4-phenylthiosemicarbazide (HPTS) as a collector in the pH range 6–7. A method for the simultaneous separation and microdetermination of the analytes is elaborated, based on adding excess HPTS and floating the species with HOL at pH ∼6. The filtrate (which is clear brownish-yellow) obtained from the scum is used for the spectrophotometric determination of Co(II) at 350 nm. The formation constants of 1:1 and 1:2 [Co(II):HPTS] species are 6.9×105 and 1.22×1010 L mol-1, respectively. Beer’s law is obeyed up to 9 μg/mL of Co(II) with a molar absorptivity of 1.15×104 L mol-1 cm-1. The precipitate in the scum layer is quantitatively collected, dissolved in aqua regia and aspirated directly into the flame for the (AAS) determination of Ni and Cu. The procedure is successfully applied to some natural water samples. A mechanism for the separation of the analytes is proposed. Summary A new method for the simultaneous determination of the divalent ions of cadmium, cobalt, copper, lead, manganese, nickel and zinc in binary, ternary and quaternary mixtures based on the application of a multiple linear regression programme to the spectra of the complexes of these ions with 4-(pyridyl-2-azo)resorcinol (PAR) was developed. The detection limits afforded by the proposed method range from 0.02 g/ml for Co(II), Mn(II), Ni(II) and Zn(II) to 0.10 g/ml for Pb(II). The method is rapid and quite simple as it entails no prior separation, and was successfully applied to the analysis for the above-mentioned ions in synthetic samples and real alloys.  相似文献
