The quantum-chemical DFT calculations of the Cp2Zn structure confirm the conclusion made earlier from the vibrational spectra that the sandwich structure (5-C5H5)2Zn (A) is not energetically favorable and more favorable are the close in energy -structure (5-C5H5)(1-C5H5)Zn (B) and -structure (1-C5H5)2Zn (C). The vibrational spectra of structures B and C with the DFT-derived force fields were calculated. A comparison of the calculated spectra of the isolated Cp2Zn molecules with the experimental data gives no way of deciding between the B and C structures. It is most likely that the molecule is nonrigid and experiences a strong influence from the nearest environment in solution or in the crystalline state.  相似文献

We present periodic density functional calculations within the generalized gradient approximation (Perdew-Wang 91) on structure and vibrational properties of bulk AlVO(4). The optimized structure agrees well with crystallographic data obtained by Rietveld refinement (the mean absolute deviation of bond distances is 0.032 A), but the deviations are larger for the lighter oxygen atoms than for the heavier Al and V atoms. All observed bands in the Raman and IR spectrum have been assigned to calculated harmonic frequencies. Bands in the 1020-900 cm(-1) region have been assigned to V-O((2)) stretches in V-O((2))-Al bonds. The individual bands do not arise from vibrations of only one bond, not even from vibrations of several bonds of one VO(4) tetrahedron. The results confirm that vibrations around 940 cm(-1) observed for vanadia particles supported on thin alumina film are V-O-Al interface modes with 2-fold coordinated oxygen atoms in the V-O((2))-Al interface bonds.  相似文献

A direct transfer of Cartesian molecular force fields (FF) and electric property tensors is tested on model systems and compared to transfer in internal coordinates with an aim to improve simulation of vibrational spectra for larger molecules. This Cartesian transformation can be implemented easily and offers greater flexibility in practical computations. It can be also applied for transfer of anharmonic derivatives. The results for model calculations of the force field and vibrational frequencies for N-methylacetamide show that our method removes errors associated with numerical artifacts caused by nonlinearity of the otherwise required Cartesian to internal coordinate transformation. For determination of IR absorption and vibrational circular dichroism intensities, atomic polar and axial tensors were also transferred in the Cartesian representation. For the latter, which are dependent upon the magnetic dipole operator, a distributed origin gauge is used to avoid an origin dependence. Comparison of the results of transferring ab initio FF and intensity parameters from an amide dimer fragment onto a tripeptide with those from a conventionally determined tripeptide FF document some limitations of the transfer method and its possible applications in the vibrational spectroscopy. Finally, application to determination of the FF and spectra for helical heptapeptide are presented and compared to experimental results. © 1997 by John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

Density function theory calculations using B3' exchange functional and LYP' correlation functionals (B3LYP) with the 3-21G** basis set were carried out to study the molecular structure and fundamental vibrational frequencies of Si2H5Br, Si2H5I and their isotopomers. One scale factor used to scale Si-H(D) force constants for Si2H5Br is transferred from Si2H5Br to Si2H5I. Other scale factors of force constants for Si2H5I and Si2D5I are determined by a least-squares fitting to experimental vibrational frequencies. The predictions of fundamental vibrational frequencies for Si2H5I and its isotopomer are given. The scaled DFT force fields using B3LYP/3-21G** reproduced the observed fundamental vibrational frequencies of Si2H5I and its deuterium isotopomer with a mean absolute deviation of 6 cm(-1). Reassignment of some fundamental vibrational modes of Si2H5I and its isotopomer is discussed.  相似文献

Molecular and vibrational structure of 1,1,1,6,6,6-hexafluoropentane-2,4-dione (hexafluoro-acetylacetone) have been investigated by means of density functional theory (DFT) calculations and have been compared with those of acetylacetone, the parent molecule. According to the theoretical calculations HFAA has an asymmetric structure with hydrogen bond strength of about 12 kcal mol(-1), about 6 kcal mol(-1) less than that of acetylacetone. This weakening of hydrogen bond is consistent with frequency shifts for OH/OD stretching, OH/OD out of plane bending and O...O stretching modes upon substitution of methyl hydrogen atoms with fluorine atoms. The symmetric structure based on electron diffraction data is interpreted as superposition of two asymmetric structures.  相似文献

Solid-state IR and Raman spectroscopic elucidation of alaninamide acetate is preformed by means of the possibilities of linear-polarized IR and Raman methods. The experimental assignment is compared with theoretical vibrational analysis with the intention to explain the influence of intermolecular interactions in solid phase on the spectroscopic properties of the compound studied. The 1H and 13C NMR spectra in solution are compared with the corresponding ones of alanine, studying the amidation effect on the chemical shift signals in the alanine moieties.  相似文献

Harmonic force fields were calculated at the corresponding optimized geometries for pyrazole and imidazole at the HF, B3LYP, MP2, CCSD and CCSD(T) levels using the 6-31G* basis set and at the HF and B3LYP levels using the cc-pVTZ basis set. The agreement between the calculated and experimental geometries by the CCSD and CCSD(T) methods was generally similar to that obtained with the B3LYP and MP2 methods. The force fields were scaled using one-scale-factor (1SF), 3SF and 7SF scaling schemes. The scale factors were varied with respect to the experimental frequencies. Using 7SF scaling, the root-mean-square (RMS) deviation of the calculated frequencies from the experimental frequencies by the HF, B3LYP, MP2, CCSD and CCSD(T) methods and the 6-31G* basis set was 16, 7, 13, 11 and 11 cm(-1), respectively. This shows that the B3LYP method is preferred for force field calculations over the perturbative MP2, CCSD and CCSD(T) methods. Using 1SF scaling, the CCSD(T) scale factor was 0.931, the highest among the five methods used but close to that obtained with the B3LYP method and the cc-pVTZ basis set with lower RMS deviation.  相似文献

Infrared (IR) and Raman spectra of phenolphthalein (PP) and its dianion form (sodium and potassium salts) were studied both in the solid state and in aqueous solution. Band assignments were carried out on the basis of the isotope shifts of the ring deuterated and 13C-substituted derivatives. Spectral analyses reveal that the PP dianion exists as mixtures of the benzenoid form (colorless) and the quinonoid form (colored) in the solid state and in aqueous solution, while the neutral PP solely takes the gamma-lactone form. This work provides the first vibrational spectroscopic evidence for the coexistence of the two species in the PP dianions.  相似文献

The infrared spectra of maleic anhydride and its mono- and dideuterated species were recorded in the region 5000-50 cm−1 in the vapour phase and in solution. Raman spectra of the solids and supercooled melts were obtained. Assignments of the fundamental vibrational frequencies are given, based upon semiquantitative polarization data and the infrared vapour contours as well as on the product rule and complete isotopic rule for the three compounds.  相似文献

The nitro derivatives of phenols are optimized to obtain their molecular geometries and electronic structures at the DFT-B3LYP/6-31G* level. Their IR spectra are obtained and assigned by vibrational analysis and are reliable compared with the experimental results. Based on the frequencies scaled by 0.96 and the principle of statistic thermodynamics, the thermodynamic properties are evaluated, which are linearly related with the number of nitro and hydroxy groups as well as the temperature, obviously showing good group additivity.  相似文献

The intensities of vibrational overtone absorption transitions are described in terms of vibronic coupling of the ground molecular state to excited electronic configurations. Model calculations indicate an important role of nuclear geometry of excited electronic states relative to the ground state in determination of molecular overtone spectra. A simple rule for qualitative predictions of the overtone spectra for diatomic molecules or local bond modes of polyatomic molecules is proposed.  相似文献

We report a systematic characterization of methylene-bridged fluorene oligomers constructed of two, four, six, and eight aromatic rings using time-dependent density functional theory (TDDFT), the ab initio approximate coupled-cluster singles and doubles (CC2) method, and semiempirical spectroscopic Zerner's intermediate neglect of differential overlap method (ZINDO/S). Geometry optimizations have been performed for the ground state and for the first electronically excited state. Vertical excitations and the fluorescence transition from the lowest excited state have been calculated. Computed ground-state geometries and infrared spectra for fluorene are in good agreement with experimental results. The RI-CC2 and ZINDO/S absorption and fluorescence spectra agree very well with the available experimental data for studied fluorene oligomers and for para oligophenylenes films. On the other hand, TDDFT calculations underestimate excitation and fluorescence energies systematically for larger systems (N > 4) in comparison with the above-mentioned results. The effective conjugation length was estimated to 13-14 repeat units. The computed radiative lifetimes for the fluorene molecule show good agreement with experiment within realistic expectations. The decrease of the radiatiave fluorescence lifetime with the increase in the conjugation length has been discussed also.  相似文献

The infrared (IR) and Raman spectra, and intensities of triphenylene, 1-, and 2-nitrotriphenylene were investigated by the density functional theory (DFT, B3LYP method) with 6-311+G** basis set. Normal mode assignments are proposed with particular emphasis on the nitro group vibrations. Compared to 2-nitrotriphenylene (2-NTRP) 1-nitrotriphenylene (1-NTRP) is predicted to show asymmetric nitro stretches at higher frequencies. Through the vibrational study, the structure–spectroscopic relationships of these nitro polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (nitro-PAHs) are made, and possible insights into their differential mutagenic potencies correlated. The geometrical distortions of the TRP structure upon nitro group substitution and correlations between structural parameters and vibrational data as well as structure–function relationships related to the mutagenicity of this important class of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons are discussed.  相似文献

The changes in the vibrational characteristics characterizing the dimerization of nitric acid have been investigated by ab initio calculations at the MP2 level, with 6-31G(d,p) and 6-31 + G(d,p) basis sets, and B3LYP/6-31G(d,p) calculations. The most consistent agreement between the computed values of the frequency shifts for the planar fully symmetric structure (2A) and those experimentally observed suggests that this structure is preferred. It was established that the most sensitive to the complexation is the stretching O-H vibration. The values of the frequency shift (-306 cm(-1)) is indicative for the formation of the relatively strong hydrogen bonds. The calculations predict an increase of the infrared intensity of the stretching O-H vibration in the nitric acid dimer more than 26 times.  相似文献

The solid and the argon-matrix isolated samples of 6-fluorothymine, 1-methyl-6-fluorothymine, 1,3-dimethyl-6-fluorothymine and 3-methylfluorothymine are studied at low temperatures by i.r. spectroscopy. The spectra obtained are interpreted using the calculation of planar normal vibration frequencies. The electronegative fluorine atom in the 6-position is shown to have a strong influence on the normal vibration frequency changes of crystalline and isolated thymine. NH ⋯ F hydrogen bonds are evidenced to exist in crystalline samples.  相似文献

A theoretical force field for the molecular vibrations of thiourea has been determined from ab initio calculations at the Hartree-Fock level using the 3-21G* basis set. The reliability of the force field is analyzed by calculating the vibrational frequencies for the deuterated and 15N isotopomers. Frequencies calculated from the force field are utilized to critically examine the experimental assignments for thiourea and deuterated thiourea. Theoretical geometry, the calculated IR and Raman band intensifies are analyzed.  相似文献

The performance of semiempirical, ab initio, and density functional methods in calculating and describing the vibrational frequencies of benzene was determined. Different levels were used. The modes were characterized by the magnitude and direction of the displacement vector. The error in the calculated frequencies was reduced using two procedures to obtain the scaled frequencies. Scaling equations were determined for each theoretical method. Specific scale factors were calculated to reduce the error in the ring modes of benzene derivatives. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
