Enthalpies of formation of 1,10-phenanthrolinium ion and ferrous-1,10-phenanthroline (tris) complex in dioxane—water and ethanol—water media at 25°C have been determined by calorimetry. Results are discussed in the light of ion—solvent and solvent—solvent interactions.  相似文献

According to the X-ray diffraction data, the cationic fragment in 1-amino-1,10-phenanthrolinium mesitylenesulfonate is a unidentate n-complex whose asymmetric structure is retained in solution. Quantum-chemical calculations by the AM1 method and ab initio (6-31G, 6-31G*, MP2/6-31G) give geometric parameters of the cation, which are similar to those determined experimentally. No dynamic processes involving intra- or intermolecular transfer of the NH2 group was observed up to 100°C by NMR spectroscopy. 1-Amino-1,10-phenanthrolinium cation does not react with 4-methylpyridine and 4-methyl-1,10-phenan-throline with transfer of the amino group, and it fails to react with mesitylene and anthracene at elevated temperature.  相似文献

The use of micelles in ionic liquid based gas-chromatography stationary phases was evaluated using equations derived for a "three-phase" model. This model allows the determination of all three partition coefficients involved in the system, and elucidates the micellar contribution to retention and selectivity. Four types of micellar-ionic liquid columns were examined in this study: 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride with sodium dodecylsulfate or dioctyl sulfosuccinate, and 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate with polyoxyethylene-100-stearyl ether or polyoxyethylene-23-lauryl ether. The partition coefficients were measured for a wide range of probe molecules capable of a variety of types and magnitudes of interactions. In general, most probe molecules preferentially partitioned to the micellar pseudophase over the bulk ionic liquid component of the stationary phase. Therefore, addition of surfactant to the stationary phase usually resulted in greater solute retention. It is also shown that the selectivity of the stationary phase is significantly altered by the presence of micelles, either by enhancing or lessening the separation. The effects of surfactant on the interaction parameters of the stationary phase are determined using the Abraham solvation parameter model. The addition of sodium dodecylsulfate and dioctyl sulfosuccinate to 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride stationary phases generally increased the phase's hydrogen bond basicity and increased the level of dispersion interaction. Polyoxyethylene-100-stearyl ether and polyoxyethylene-23-lauryl ether surfactants, however, enhanced the pi-pi/n-pi, polarizability/dipolarity, and hydrogen bond basicity interactions of 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate to a greater degree than the ionic surfactants with 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride. However, these nonionic surfactants appeared to hinder the ability of the stationary phase to interact with solutes via dispersion forces. Therefore, it is possible to effectively predict which analytes will be most highly retained by these micellar-ionic liquid stationary phases.  相似文献

The intercalation reaction of 1,10-phenanthroline with FePS3 in ethanol and in the presence of anilinium chloride has been monitored in detail with the X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) method to study the reaction mechanism. It is revealed that during the intercalation period there are three phases: the 001 phase (corresponding to the perpendicular orientation of the 1,10-phenanthroline ring with the layer of the host FePS3), the 001′ phase (standing for the parallel orientation of the 1,10-phenanthroline ring with the layer), and the 001″ phase (pristine FePS3), but as the period of the reaction is prolonged, the 001′ and 001″ phases diminish gradually and finally disappear, and the 001 phase is intensified and a complete intercalate is obtained for Series A, in which excess 1,10-phenanthroline is used. However, for Series B in which the optimum amount of 1,10-phenanthroline is used, the 001 and 001″ phases diminish gradually, and another intercalate is obtained that exhibits the 001′ phase. Moreover, if the amount of phenanthroline used in the reaction is more than that in Series B but not in excess, another intercalate containing 001 and 001′ phases is obtained. In these intercalation reactions, the results of IR spectroscopy indicate that anilinium chloride serves only as the source of protons for 1,10-phenanthroline, but 1,10-phenanthroline acts as both the complexing agent of Fe2+ ions removed from FePS3, confirmed by UV spectra of the filtrates, and the inserted guest, some of which exists in the form of protonated cation to maintain the charge balance of the intercalates. From the experimental evidence we find that the arranged orientation of 1,10-phenanthroline between the layers is controlled by the amount of guest used in the reaction, and a possible intercalation mechanism is proposed for the reaction.  相似文献

Eleven 1-alkyl-3-methyl imidazolium ionic liquid (IL) salts were analyzed in reversed phase mode with a Kromasil C18 column. The mobile phases were water-rich acetonitrile solutions (water content > or =70%, v/v) without any added salts. It is shown that it is possible to separate different ILs sharing the same cation and differing by the anion when salt-free mobile phases are used. When a buffer, acetate or phosphate salt, or any salt, such as sodium chloride or sodium tetrafluorobarate, is added to the mobile phase, the ILs differing only by their anions cannot be separated. ILs with different alkyl chains in the imidazolium cation are separated by mobile phases with or without added salts following a hydrophobic interaction behavior: log k is proportional to nC, the carbon number of the alkyl chain. Important differences in ion/stationary phase interactions are observed depending on the ionic content of the mobile phase. With salt-free mobile phases, the IL/C18 stationary phase interactions correspond to concave isotherms associated with fronting peaks for all ILs. With mobile phase containing 0.01 M of salt, tailing IL peaks correspond to convex adsorption isotherms. Also, the IL retention factor depends on the concentration and nature of the added salt. Hexafluorophosphate chaotropic anions can adsorb on the Kromasil C18 surface dramatically increasing the imidazolium cation retention factors.  相似文献

A series of 1,4-piperazinium di- n -alkyl sulphates was synthesized and compared with an analogous series of 1,5-homopiperazinium di- n -alkyl sulphates. Their thermotropic liquid crystalline behaviour was studied by differential scanning calorimetry, polarizing optical microscopy and X-ray diffraction. For the piperazinium salts, two ordered smectic phases were established, in which the lateral packing of the molecules within the layers is rectangular or tetragonal. Both phases are characterized by an alternate periodic packing of the positive and negative ionic groups in the polar sublayer, while the lipophilic sublayers of the alkyl chains are in a disordered conformation. Substitution of the piperazinium by the less symmetrical homopiperazinium group disfavours organization within the smectic layer and as a result smectic A phases were obtained.  相似文献

Stimuli-responsive behavior of phospholipids in the presence of ionic surfactants utilized in synthesis of MMA/nBA colloidal particles was investigated. Utilizing 1-myristoyl-2-hydroxy-sn-glycero-phosphocholine (MHPC) phospholipid, and sodium dioctyl sulfosuccinate (SDOSS) surfactant as dispersing media in H(2)O, narrow unimodal particle size distributions of methyl methacrylate (MMA)/n-butyl acrylate (nBA) copolymers were synthesized. The particle diameters were 154 nm when a SDOSS/MHPC mixture was used and 161 nm using MHPC as the only surface-stabilizing species. When such colloidal dispersions are exposed to 1.7, 3.3, and 6.7 mM aqueous CaCl(2) and KCl electrolyte solutions, surface-localized ionic clusters are generated at the film-air interface that may serve as lipid rafts composed of crystalline phases of MHPC deposited on poly(MMA)/nBA films. These studies illustrate that it is possible to control release and morphology developments of surface phospholipid rafts on artificial surfaces.  相似文献

Although nonionic compounds can be separated by micellar electrokinetic chromatography (MEKC), application of this technique is restricted by a somewhat limited elution range. Incorporation of organic solvents in the background electrolyte (BGE) greatly extends the scope of MEKC and provides a major variable in optimizing the separation of neutral analytes. This paper provides a systematic review of the principles and scope of the separation of neutral analytes by capillary electrophoresis (CE) in organic-aqueous solution. The methods surveyed include those that use tetraalkylammonium salts, dioctyl sulfosuccinate, lauryl poly(oxyethylene) sulfate. Polyaromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) compounds can be separated using sodium hexadecyl sulfate in 70% methanol (30% aqueous) to 100% methanol.  相似文献

A series of cationic oligomeric surfactants (quaternary dodecyldimethylammonium ions with two, three, or four chains connected by an ethylene spacer at the headgroup level, abbreviated as dimer, trimer, and tetramer) were synthesized and characterized. The influence of the degree of oligomerization on their polymorphic and mesomorphic properties was investigated by means of X-ray diffraction, polarizing optical microscopy, thermogravimetry, and differential scanning calorimetry. All compounds display layered arrangements with interdigitated dodecyl chains. The increase in the degree of oligomerization increases the interlayer distance and decreases the ordering in the solid phase; whereas the dimer sample is fully crystalline with well-developed 3D ordering and the trimer and tetramer crystallize as highly ordered crystal smectic phases. The number of thermal phase transitions and sequence of phases are markedly affected by the number of dodecyl chains. Anhydrous samples exhibit polymorphism and thermotropic mesomorphism of the smectic type, with the exception of the tetramer that displays only transitions at higher temperature associated with decomposition and melting. All hydrated compounds form lyotropic mesophases showing reversible phase transitions upon heating and cooling. The sequence of liquid-crystalline phases for the dimer, typical of concentrated ionic surfactant systems, comprises a hexagonal phase at lower temperatures and a smectic phase at higher temperatures. In contrast, the trimer and tetramer reveal textures of the hexagonal phase.  相似文献

N‐Alkyl‐N‐methylpyrrolidinium cations have been used for the design of ionic liquid crystals, including a new type of uranium‐containing metallomesogen. Pyrrolidinium salts with bromide, bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide, tetrafluoroborate, hexafluorophosphate, thiocyanate, tetrakis(2‐ thenoyltrifluoroacetonato)europate(III) and tetrabromouranyl counteranions were prepared. For the bromide salts and tetrabromouranyl compounds, the chain length of the alkyl group CnH2n+1 was varied from eight to twenty carbon atoms (n=8, 10–20). The compounds show rich mesomorphic behaviour: highly ordered smectic phases (the crystal smectic E phase and the uncommon crystal smectic T phase), smectic A phases, and hexagonal columnar phases were observed, depending on chain length and anion. This work gives better insight into the nature and formation of the crystal smectic T phase, and the molecular requirements for the appearance of this highly ordered phase. This uncommon tetragonal mesophase is thoroughly discussed on the basis of detailed powder X‐ray diffraction experiments and in relation to the existing literature. Structural models are proposed for self‐assembly of the molecules within the smectic layers. In addition, the photophysical properties of the compounds containing a metal complex anion were investigated. For the uranium‐containing mesogens, luminescence can be induced by dissolving them in an ionic liquid matrix. The europium‐containing compound shows intense red photoluminescence with high colour purity.  相似文献

Clouding behavior of PEO-PPO-PEO and PPO-PEO-PPO block copolymers were studied in presence of sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) and NaCl. Extensive study of Pluronic P84 (EO19PO43EO19) with different salts and ionic surfactants, were carried out using cloud point, viscosity and dynamic light scattering (DLS) measurements. The change in cloud point, as well as the size of P84 micelles in aqueous salt solution obeys the Hofmeister lyotropic series. Results on P84-ionic surfactant mixture indicate stronger interaction in case of SDS compared to those in presence of dodecyl trimethylammonium chloride (DTAC); here interaction seems to diminish in the presence of salts.  相似文献

The effect of secondary hydrogen-bonding interactions on the crystalline and liquid crystalline phases of quaternary ammonium salts functionalised with a carboxylic group attached at the polar head through a decyl spacer of a homologous series of N-alkyl-N-carboxydecyl-N,N-dimethylammonium bromides was investigated by polarising optical microscopy, differential scanning calorimetry and X-ray diffraction. The low-temperature crystal phases were found to have a lamellar structure in which the ammonium bromide groups are arranged within the layers in two distinct planes, alternately separated by single layers of alkyl chains and double layers of carboxydecyl chains coupled through the carboxyl end groups. At higher temperatures, although these molecules were made from soft flexible chains, smectic H mesophases were identified. The smectic layers were found to be formed by the same two ionic planes alternately separated by the alkyl and carboxydecyl sub-layers. The smectic structure was compared with the three-dimensional positional order observed in the smectic T phase of dihydroxyl functionalised quaternary ammonium salts already described in the literature.  相似文献

The kinetics of chromium(III) catalyzed oxidation of 1,10-phenanthroline by permanganate in alkaline medium at a constant ionic strength has been studied spectrophotometrically. The reaction between permanganate and 1,10-phenanthroline in alkaline medium exhibits 4:1 stoichiometry (KMnO4:1,10-phenanthroline). The reaction shows first order dependence on [permanganate] and [chromium(III)] and less than unit order dependence in 1,10-phenanthroline, zero order in alkali concentrations. The results suggest the formation of a complex between the 1,10-phenanthroline and the chromium(III) which reacts further with one mole of permanganate species in the rate-determining step, resulting in the formation of a free radical, which again reacts with three moles of permangante species in a subsequent fast step to yield the products. The reaction constants involved in the mechanism were evaluated. The activation parameters were computed with respect to the slow step of the mechanism.This revised version was published online in December 2005 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

The "flexible" 3 and "rigid" cyclic viologens 4, diquarternary salts of 2,2'-bipyridine and 1,10-phenanthroline, respectively, were treated with tributylphosphine (1) in acetonitrile containing a large amount of methanol under an argon atmosphere. A single electron transfer (SET) easily occurred from the latter to the former, the SET to 4 being 10(5)-10(6) times faster than the SET to 3. The reorganization energy lambda for the latter SET is thought to be larger than that for the former SET, because 3 undergoes a structural change upon the one-electron reduction to its radical cation, whereas the one-electron reduction of 4 takes place without a structural change. Taking into account the difference in lambda, and also taking into account the bond formation energy brought about by the follow-up reaction of the phosphine radical cation 1*(+) with methanol, the observed kinetics were well interpreted in terms of the Marcus theory.  相似文献

Benzyldimethyltetradecylammonium (BA14(+)) salts with anionic ligands (X(-)), such as bis(2-ethylhexyl)sulfosuccinate, bis(2-ethylhexyl)phosphate (BEHP(-)), and benzotriazole (BTA(-)) anions, were prepared. These salts were soluble in various organic solvents. The luminescence emission spectra of organic solutions of a red luminescent, tris(1,1,1,2,2,3,3-heptafluoro-7,7-dimethyl-4,6-octadionato)europium(III) complex in the presence of the BA14X's were recorded. The emission intensity of the Eu(III) complex was increased remarkably by the addition of BA14X (X(-) = BEHP(-) and BTA(-)). This effect can be attributed to the formation of 1:1 X(-)-adducts of the Eu(III) complex, in which the asymmetry of the ligand field is increased so as to enhance the emission efficiency of the (5)D(0)→(5)F(2) transition. The enhancement effect by BA14X was higher than that of charge-neutral ligands, such as tri-n-octylphosphine oxide and 1,10-phenanthroline, which have been used as second ligands to enhance the emission efficiency of tris(β-diketonato)europium(III) complexes.  相似文献

The spectral and redox behavior of bis(diimine)copper(II) complexes, where diimine is bipyridine, 1,10-phenanthroline, 4-methyl-1,10-phenanthroline, 5-methyl-1,10-phenanthroline, 5-nitro-1,10-phenanthroline, 4,7-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline, 5,6-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline, 2,9-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline, 3,4,7,8-tetramethyl-1,10-phenanthroline and dipyrido-[3,2-d:2',3'-f]-quinoxaline, are significantly different in aqueous and in aqueous SDS, CTAB and Triton X-100 micellar solutions. The (1)H NMR spectral study in aqueous (D(2)O) and aqueous micelles reveals that the Cu(II) complexes interact more strongly with SDS than with CTAB and Triton X-100 micelles and at sites on SDS micelles different from those on the latter. Ligand Field spectral studies reveal that the complexes exist as the dicationic aquated species [Cu(diimine)(2)(H(2)O)(2)](2+), which interacts strongly with the anionic SDS micelles through columbic forces. However, they exist as [Cu(diimine)(2)(H(2)O)Cl](+) and/or [Cu(diimine)(2)H(2)] located in the hydrophobic microenvironments in Triton X-100 and CTAB micelles. The attainment of reversibility of the redox systems in the micellar microenvironments is remarkable and this illustrates that the Cu(II) and Cu(I) species undergo stereochemical changes suitable for reversible electron-transfer. The remarkable differences in spectral and electrochemical properties of Cu(II) complexes in aqueous and aqueous micellar solutions illustrate that the complexes are nestled largely within the micellar environments and imply that the accessibilities of the complexes to electron-transfer are different and are dependent on the nature of micelles as well as the nature and hydrophobicity of the diimine ligands.  相似文献

The physicochemical properties of 22 protic ionic liquids (PILs) and 6 protic molten salts, and the self-assembly behavior of 3 amphiphiles in the PILs, are reported. Structure-property relationships have been explored for the PILs, including the effect of increasing the substitution of ammonium cations and the presence of methoxy and hydroxyl moieties in the cation. Anion choices included the formate, pivalate, trifluoroacetate, nitrate, and hydrogen sulfate anions. This series of PILs had a diverse range of physicochemical properties, with ionic conductivities up to 51.10 mS/cm, viscosities down to 5.4 mPa.s, surface tensions between 38.3 and 82.1 mN/m, and densities between 0.990 and 1.558 g/cm3. PILs were designed with various levels of solvent cohesiveness, as quantified by the Gordon parameter. Fourteen PILs were found to promote the self-assembly of amphiphiles. High-throughput polarized optical microscopy was used to identify lamellar, hexagonal, and bicontinuous cubic amphiphile self-assembly phases. The presence and extent of amphiphile self-assembly have been discussed in terms of the Gordon parameter.  相似文献

A new series of ethylpyridinium salts N-substituted with a 4'-methoxybiphenyl-4-yloxyalkyl group has been synthesized and the mesomorphic properties examined. The effect of positioning the ethyl group at each of the three available positions (2; 3- or 4-) on the pyridinium ring was examined and compounds with alkyl chains containing odd numbers of carbon atoms from C5 to C11 were investigated. It was found that the longer chain (C9-C11) 2- and 4-ethylpyridinium compounds form smectic phases, whereas the corresponding 3-substituted compounds do not. X-ray diffraction studies indicated that the smectic phases were of types A, B and in one case E, with the molecules lying in a head to tail fashion in single layers with interdigitated alkyl chains. We explain the difference in mesogenic properties of the three different ring-substituted compounds in terms of packing considerations in the ionic regions of the structures. It is suggested that the 3-derivatives pack more efficiently than the 2- and 4-substituted compounds.  相似文献

建立分光光度法分析眼科植入物人工晶体中清洗剂磺基琥珀酸二辛酯钠残留的方法。磺基琥珀酸二辛酯在酸性水溶液介质中与亚甲基蓝形成离子对,用三氯甲烷提取并在651 nm波长处测定其吸光度。磺基琥珀酸二辛酯钠的质量浓度在1.0~5.0μg/m L内与吸光度呈良好的线性关系,线性相关系数r~2=0.990 1,检出限为0.4μg/m L。测定结果的相对标准偏差为1.21%(n=6),日间重复性为2.06%(n=6);加标回收率为90%~97%。该方法检出限低,再现性好,适用于人工晶状体中磺基琥珀酸二辛酯钠残留量的测定。  相似文献
