We present several results concerning the asymptotic behavior of (random) infinite products of generic sequences of positive linear operators on an ordered Banach space. In addition to a weak ergodic theorem we also obtain convergence to an operator of the formf(·) wheref is a continuous linear functional and is a common fixed point.  相似文献

Let and be a perturbed eigenpair of a diagonalisable matrixA. The problem is to bound the error in and . We present one absolute perturbation bound and two relative perturbation bounds. The absolute perturbation bound is an extension of Davis and Kahan's sin θ Theorem from Hermitian to diagonalisable matrices. The two relative perturbation bounds assume that and are an exact eigenpair of a perturbed matrixD 1 AD 2 , whereD 1 andD 2 are non-singular, butD 1 AD 2 is not necessarily diagonalisable. We derive a bound on the relative error in and a sin θ theorem based on a relative eigenvalue separation. We consider the eigenvalues and eigenvectors of finite, low rank perturbations of random matrices. Specifically, we prove almost sure convergence of the extreme eigenvalues and appropriate projections of the corresponding eigenvectors of the perturbed matrix for additive and multiplicative perturbation models.The limiting non-random value is shown to depend explicitly on the limiting eigenvalue distribution of the unperturbed random matrix and the assumed perturbation model via integral transforms that correspond to very well-known objects in free probability theory that linearize non-commutative free additive and multiplicative convolution. Furthermore, we uncover a phase transition phenomenon whereby the large matrix limit of the extreme eigenvalues of the perturbed matrix differs from that of the original matrix if and only if the eigenvalues of the perturbing matrix are above a certain critical threshold. Square root decay of the eigenvalue density at the edge is sufficient to ensure that this threshold is finite. This critical threshold is intimately related to the same aforementioned integral transforms and our proof techniques bring this connection and the origin of the phase transition into focus. Consequently, our results extend the class of ‘spiked’ random matrix models about which such predictions (called the BBP phase transition) can be made well beyond the Wigner, Wishart and Jacobi random ensembles found in the literature. We examine the impact of this eigenvalue phase transition on the associated eigenvectors and observe an analogous phase transition in the eigenvectors. Various extensions of our results to the problem of non-extreme eigenvalues are discussed.  相似文献

LetL() be a self-adjoint quadratic operator polynomial on a Hilbert space with numerical rangeW(L). The main concern of this paper is with properties of eigenvalues on W(L). The investigation requires a careful discussion of repeated eigenvectors of more general operator polynomials. It is shown that, in the self-adjoint quadratic case, non-real eigenvalues on W(L) are semisimple and (in a sense to be defined) they are normal. Also, for any eigenvalue at a point on W(L) where an external cone property is satisfied, the partial multiplicities cannot exceed two.  相似文献

Abstract

Prior to investigating on sequence spaces and their convergence, we study the notion of statistical convergence of difference sequences of fractional order α ∈ ?. As generalizations of previous works, this study includes several special cases under different limiting conditions of α, such as the notion of statistical convergence of difference sequences of zeroth and mth (integer) order. In fact, we study certain new results on statistical convergence via the difference operator Δα and interpret them to those of previous works. Also, by using the convergence of Δα-summable sequences which is stronger than statistical convergence of difference sequences, we apply classical Bernstein operator and a generalized form of Meyer-Konig and Zeller operator to construct an example in support of our result. Also, we study the rates of Δα-statistical convergence of positive linear operators.  相似文献

Summary A sufficient condition for statistical completeness of location families generated by a probability density in euclidean space is given. As an application, completeness of families generated by a symmetric stable law is proved. Our criterion, complementing a classical result of Wiener and recent work of Isenbeck and Rüschendorf, is in terms of regularity of the generating density and zerofreeness of its characteristic function. Its proof rests on a local version of the convolution theorem for Fourier transforms of tempered distributions. A more general version of the criterion is applicable to apparently different problems, as is illustrated by giving a simultaneous proof of a theorem on translated moments by P. Hall and a uniqueness result of M. Riesz in potential theory.  相似文献

In the present paper we consider the Volterra integration operator V   on the Wiener algebra W(D)W(D) of analytic functions on the unit disc DD of the complex plane CC. A complex number λλ is called an extended eigenvalue of V if there exists a nonzero operator A   satisfying the equation AVVAAV=λVA. We prove that the set of all extended eigenvalues of V   is precisely the set C?{0}C?{0}, and describe in terms of Duhamel operators and composition operators the set of corresponding extended eigenvectors of VV. We find a necessary and sufficient condition on a Riesz space E such that a sub-Boolean algebra of components of a positive element generates the Boolean algebra of all components of the element.
