The group of self-homotopy equivalences of a finite complex which is rationally aco-H-space is studied. Some finiteness properties are obtained. Two subgroups consisting of elements which induce the identity on homotopy or homology groups are also studied. Examples are included showing these results are best possible.  相似文献

In this paper we develop a new method for the study of structural properties of the group stable self-homotopy equivalences. Using this new approach we give more efficient proofs for some classical theorems, together with a series of new results.  相似文献

We study nilpotent subgroups of automorphism groups in the category of groups and the homotopy category of spaces. We establish localization and completion theorems for nilpotent groups of automorphisms of nilpotent groups. We then apply these algebraic theorems to prove analogous results for certain groups of self-homotopy equivalences of spaces.

We prove that every finite group G can be realized as the group of self-homotopy equivalences of infinitely many elliptic spaces X. To construct those spaces we introduce a new technique which leads, for example, to the existence of infinitely many inflexible manifolds. Further applications to representation theory will appear in a separate paper.  相似文献

Let Aut. (X) denote the group of homotopy classes of self-homotopy equivalences of X, which induce identity automorphisms of homology group. We describe a decomposition of Aut. (X1 V…VXn) as a product of its simpler subgroups. We consider the subgroup Aut∑(X) of all self homotopy classes α of X such that ∑α=1∑X: ∑X → ∑X, and also give some properties of Aut∑(X).  相似文献

Explicit examples of finite subgroups of the group of homotopy classes of self-homotopy equivalences of some flat Riemannian manifolds which cannot be lifted to effective actions are given. It is also shown that no finite subgroups of the kernel of π0(Homeo(M))→Out π1(M) can be lifted back to Homeo(M), for a large class of flat manifolds M. Some results of an earlier paper by the authors are refined and related to recent work of R. Schoen and S.T. Yau.  相似文献

Let Aut$_∗(X)$ denote the group of homotopy classes of self-homotopy equivalences of $X$, which induce identity automorphisms of homology group. We describe a decomposition of Aut$_∗(X_1∨· · ·∨X_n)$ as a product of its simpler subgroups. We consider the subgroup Aut$_Σ(X)$ of all self homotopy classes α of $X$ such that $Σα = 1_{ΣX} : ΣX → ΣX$, and also give some properties of Aut$_Σ(X)$.  相似文献

The self-homotopy group of a topological group G is the set of homotopy classes of self-maps of G equipped with the group structure inherited from G. We determine the set of primes p such that the p-localization of the self-homotopy group of Sp(n) is commutative. As a consequence, we see that this group detects the homotopy commutativity of p-localized Sp(n) by its commutativity almost all cases.  相似文献

We give a new approach to the construction of derived equivalences between blocks of finite groups, based on perverse equivalences, in the setting of Broué?s abelian defect group conjecture. We provide in particular local and global perversity data describing the principal blocks and the derived equivalences for a number of finite simple groups with Sylow subgroups elementary abelian of order 9. We also examine extensions to automorphism groups in a general setting.  相似文献

Stable equivalences are studied between any finite dimensional algebra A with a simple projective module and a simple injective module and an algebra B obtained from A by ‘gluing’ the corresponding idempotents of A; this extends results by Martinez-Villa. Stable equivalences modulo projectives are compared to stable equivalences modulo semisimples, and in either situation a characterization is given for a radical embedding to induce such a stable equivalence.  相似文献

This paper represents a step toward a model structure on pro-spectra in which the weak equivalences are the maps inducing pro-isomorphisms of all pro-homotopy groups. We construct a category in which these weak equivalences are inverted and show that we have not inverted “too much,” in the sense that isomorphic objects still give pro-isomorphic cohomology groups.  相似文献

This work uses well-known results on tensor products of lattices and semilattices developed by Fraser and Grätzer et al., and the duality for bounded distributive lattices introduced by Cignoli et al., in order to develop dual categorical equivalences involving bounded distributive lattices with fusion and implication, respectively. We show that these equivalences are essentially those developed by Cabrer and Celani as part of the PhD thesis of the former.  相似文献

Let k be a commutative ringG a finite groupR and S fully G-graded k-algebras. In this paper we investigate Morita equivalences, derived equivalences and stable equivalences of Morita type between R and S, which are induced by G-graded R, 5-bimodules or complexes of G-graded bimodules. Such equivalences occur naturally in the case of group algebras in certain reduction steps for Broue's conjecture, and we show how they can be lifted from equivalences between R 1 and S 1.  相似文献

In this paper we consider what happens when Adams self maps are modified by adding certain unstable maps. The unstable maps which are added are trivial after a single suspension. We can choose the modification so that the maps are still K-theory equivalences but the loops on the map are no longer K-theory equivalences. As a corollary we note that the maps are K-theory equivalences but not v 1-periodic equivalences. Another consequence is the behavior of the cobar spectral sequences for generalized homology theories. Tamaki shows that in certain cases a cobar-type spectral sequence for generalized homology theories is well behaved. The maps we construct give an example where despite the connectivity of the spaces the cobar spectral sequence is still poorly behaved. Finally we use our maps to construct spaces whose Bousfield class is distinct from the cofiber of the Adams map but which becomes the same after one suspension.  相似文献

We study the classification of ultrametric spaces based on their small scale geometry (uniform homeomorphism), large scale geometry (coarse equivalence) and both (bi-uniform equivalences). Using a combinatoric approach we consider every ultrametric space as the end space of a chain and prove that all these equivalences can be characterized by the existence of a common zig-zag chain.  相似文献

In this paper we propose an approach to homotopical algebra where the basic ingredient is a category with two classes of distinguished morphisms: strong and weak equivalences. These data determine the cofibrant objects by an extension property analogous to the classical lifting property of projective modules. We define a Cartan-Eilenberg category as a category with strong and weak equivalences such that there is an equivalence of categories between its localisation with respect to weak equivalences and the relative localisation of the subcategory of cofibrant objects with respect to strong equivalences. This equivalence of categories allows us to extend the classical theory of derived additive functors to this non additive setting. The main examples include Quillen model categories and categories of functors defined on a category endowed with a cotriple (comonad) and taking values on a category of complexes of an abelian category. In the latter case there are examples in which the class of strong equivalences is not determined by a homotopy relation. Among other applications of our theory, we establish a very general acyclic models theorem.  相似文献

Boolean expressions of Boolean algebras are logically equivalent to conditional logic expressions; we define and give theorems about equivalences of general conditional expressions; moreover, conditional expressions are properly contained in n-valued Post algebras. Theorems are given regarding equivalences of conditional logic in Post logic.  相似文献
