Let kk be any field, GG be a finite group acting on the rational function field k(xg:g∈G)k(xg:gG) by h⋅xg=xhghxg=xhg for any h,g∈Gh,gG. Define k(G)=k(xg:g∈G)Gk(G)=k(xg:gG)G. Noether’s problem asks whether k(G)k(G) is rational (= purely transcendental) over kk. A weaker notion, retract rationality introduced by Saltman, is also very useful for the study of Noether’s problem. We prove that, if GG is a Frobenius group with abelian Frobenius kernel, then k(G)k(G) is retract kk-rational for any field kk satisfying some mild conditions. As an application, we show that, for any algebraic number field kk, for any Frobenius group GG with Frobenius complement isomorphic to SL2(F5)SL2(F5), there is a Galois extension field KK over kk whose Galois group is isomorphic to GG, i.e. the inverse Galois problem is valid for the pair (G,k)(G,k). The same result is true for any non-solvable Frobenius group if k(ζ8)k(ζ8) is a cyclic extension of kk.  相似文献

Extending the classical notion of spreading model, the kk-spreading models of a Banach space are introduced, for every k∈NkN. The definition, which is based on the kk-sequences and plegma families, reveals a new class of spreading sequences associated to a Banach space. Most of the results of the classical theory are stated and proved in the higher order setting. Moreover, new phenomena like the universality of the class of the 2-spreading models of c0c0 and the composition property are established. As consequence, a problem concerning the structure of the kk-iterated spreading models is solved.  相似文献

A subset S⊆VSV in a graph G=(V,E)G=(V,E) is a [j,k][j,k]-set if, for every vertex v∈V?SvV?S, j≤|N(v)∩S|≤kj|N(v)S|k for non-negative integers jj and kk, that is, every vertex v∈V?SvV?S is adjacent to at least jj but not more than kk vertices in SS. In this paper, we focus on small jj and kk, and relate the concept of [j,k][j,k]-sets to a host of other concepts in domination theory, including perfect domination, efficient domination, nearly perfect sets, 2-packings, and kk-dependent sets. We also determine bounds on the cardinality of minimum [1, 2]-sets, and investigate extremal graphs achieving these bounds. This study has implications for restrained domination as well. Using a result for [1, 3]-sets, we show that, for any grid graph GG, the restrained domination number is equal to the domination number of GG.  相似文献

We study aspects of the analytic foundations of integration and closely related problems for functions of infinitely many variables x1,x2,…∈Dx1,x2,D. The setting is based on a reproducing kernel kk for functions on DD, a family of non-negative weights γuγu, where uu varies over all finite subsets of NN, and a probability measure ρρ on DD. We consider the weighted superposition K=uγukuK=uγuku of finite tensor products kuku of kk. Under mild assumptions we show that KK is a reproducing kernel on a properly chosen domain in the sequence space DNDN, and that the reproducing kernel Hilbert space H(K)H(K) is the orthogonal sum of the spaces H(γuku)H(γuku). Integration on H(K)H(K) can be defined in two ways, via a canonical representer or with respect to the product measure ρNρN on DNDN. We relate both approaches and provide sufficient conditions for the two approaches to coincide.  相似文献

Let ηtηt be a Poisson point process of intensity t≥1t1 on some state space YY and let ff be a non-negative symmetric function on YkYk for some k≥1k1. Applying ff to all kk-tuples of distinct points of ηtηt generates a point process ξtξt on the positive real half-axis. The scaling limit of ξtξt as tt tends to infinity is shown to be a Poisson point process with explicitly known intensity measure. From this, a limit theorem for the mm-th smallest point of ξtξt is concluded. This is strengthened by providing a rate of convergence. The technical background includes Wiener–Itô chaos decompositions and the Malliavin calculus of variations on the Poisson space as well as the Chen–Stein method for Poisson approximation. The general result is accompanied by a number of examples from geometric probability and stochastic geometry, such as kk-flats, random polytopes, random geometric graphs and random simplices. They are obtained by combining the general limit theorem with tools from convex and integral geometry.  相似文献

It is shown that if a sequence of open nn-sets DkDk increases to an open nn-set DD then reflected stable processes in DkDk converge weakly to the reflected stable process in DD for every starting point xx in DD. The same result holds for censored αα-stable processes for every xx in DD if DD and DkDk satisfy the uniform Hardy inequality. Using the method in the proof of the above results, we also prove the weak convergence of reflected Brownian motions in unbounded domains.  相似文献

We consider a multidimensional diffusion XX with drift coefficient b(α,Xt)b(α,Xt) and diffusion coefficient ?σ(β,Xt)?σ(β,Xt). The diffusion sample path is discretely observed at times tk=kΔtk=kΔ for k=1…nk=1n on a fixed interval [0,T][0,T]. We study minimum contrast estimators derived from the Gaussian process approximating XX for small ??. We obtain consistent and asymptotically normal estimators of αα for fixed ΔΔ and ?→0?0 and of (α,β)(α,β) for Δ→0Δ0 and ?→0?0 without any condition linking ?? and ΔΔ. We compare the estimators obtained with various methods and for various magnitudes of ΔΔ and ?? based on simulation studies. Finally, we investigate the interest of using such methods in an epidemiological framework.  相似文献

In this paper, the pattern of the soliton solutions to the discrete nonlinear Schrödinger (DNLS) equations in a 2D   lattice is studied by the construction of horseshoes in ll-spaces. The spatial disorder of the DNLS equations is the result of the strong amplitudes and stiffness of the nonlinearities. The complexity of this disorder is log(N+1)log(N+1) where N   is the number of turning points of the nonlinearities. For the case N=1N=1, there exist disjoint intervals I0I0 and I1I1, for which the state um,num,n at site (m,n)(m,n) can be either dark (um,nI0um,nI0) or bright (um,nI1um,nI1) that depends on the configuration km,n=0km,n=0 or 1, respectively. Bright soliton solutions of the DNLS equations with a cubic nonlinearity are also discussed.  相似文献

Given a càdlàg process XX on a filtered measurable space, we construct a version of its semimartingale characteristics which is measurable with respect to the underlying probability law. More precisely, let PsemPsem be the set of all probability measures PP under which XX is a semimartingale. We construct processes (BP,C,νP)(BP,C,νP) which are jointly measurable in time, space, and the probability law PP, and are versions of the semimartingale characteristics of XX under PP for each P∈PsemPPsem. This result gives a general and unifying answer to measurability questions that arise in the context of quasi-sure analysis and stochastic control under the weak formulation.  相似文献

We examine a class of Grushin type operators PkPk where k∈N0kN0 defined in (1.1). The operators PkPk are non-elliptic and degenerate on a sub-manifold of RN+?RN+?. Geometrically they arise via a submersion from a sub-Laplace operator on a nilpotent Lie group of step k+1k+1. We explain the geometric framework and prove some analytic properties such as essential self-adjointness. The main purpose of the paper is to give an explicit expression of the fundamental solution of PkPk. Our methods rely on an appropriate change of coordinates and involve the theory of Bessel and modified Bessel functions together with Weber's second exponential integral.  相似文献

The main problem considered in this paper is identifying the function β∈RβR satisfying β(s)≥ζ(s)β(s)ζ(s) on SS and having minimal RR-norm. The smoothness (mean square differentiability) of ZZ turns out to have a crucial impact on the structure of the solution. As examples, we obtain the explicit solutions when ζ(s)=sζ(s)=s for s∈[0,1]s[0,1] and ZZ is either a fractional Brownian motion or an integrated Ornstein–Uhlenbeck process.  相似文献

A group-word ww is called concise if whenever the set of ww-values in a group GG is finite it always follows that the verbal subgroup w(G)w(G) is finite. More generally, a word ww is said to be concise in a class of groups XX if whenever the set of ww-values is finite for a group G∈XGX, it always follows that w(G)w(G) is finite. P. Hall asked whether every word is concise. Due to Ivanov the answer to this problem is known to be negative. Dan Segal asked whether every word is concise in the class of residually finite groups. In this direction we prove that if ww is a multilinear commutator and qq is a prime-power, then the word wqwq is indeed concise in the class of residually finite groups. Further, we show that in the case where w=γkw=γk the word wqwq is boundedly concise in the class of residually finite groups. It remains unknown whether the word wqwq is actually concise in the class of all groups.  相似文献
