The propagation properties of flattened Gaussian beam with aperture in turbulent atmosphere have been studied by using the extended Huygens-Fresnel principle. From the study and numerical calculation, the effects of aperture on the propagation of flattened Gaussian beams in turbulent atmosphere have been illuminated. It shows that when the value of the truncation parameter δ is bigger, for example δ?2, the effects of aperture on the propagation properties are too small to be neglected. But when the truncation parameter δ is smaller, for example δ<2, the effects of aperture are complex. The peak value of the average intensity descends more rapidly and the beam spot spreads quicker with aperture than that without aperture when the propagation distance increases. Meanwhile, with the propagation distance increasing, the average intensity profiles of flattened Gaussian beams gradually convert into Gaussian average intensity profiles. In addition, some limiting cases are also discussed. It agrees with the existing results.  相似文献

Based on the relations between Laguerre–Gaussian (LG) and Hermite–Gaussian (HG) modes and by introduced the complex Gaussian expansion method for two dimensional rectangular aperture, the approximate analytical propagation expressions of the rotational symmetrical LG beams along with their even and odd modes through a paraxial ABCD optical system with rectangular hard-edged aperture are derived. As special cases of the results, the corresponding closed-forms of the circular aperture diffracted LG beams and non-truncated LG beams are also given. Numerical examples are given to prove the validity of this approximate analytical method and illustrate the propagation properties of the rectangular hard-edged aperture diffracted LG beams.  相似文献

Starting from the vectorial Rayleigh diffraction integrals, the nonparaxial propagation of vectorial Gaussian beams through an annular aperture is studied. The analytical propagation expressions are derived, which permit us to treat the on-axis field and far field of vectorial nonparaxial Gaussian beams diffracted at the annular aperture, the nonparaxial diffraction at a circular aperture and a circular disc as our special cases in a unified way. The validity of our treatment is confirmed by direct numerical integration of the Rayleigh formulae. It is shown that the f-parameter and annular obscuration affect the beam nonparaxiality in the case of diffraction at the annular aperture.  相似文献

Starting from the propagation law of partially coherent light, the focusing properties of twisted Gaussian Schell-model (TGSM) beams passing through an optical system consisting of an aperture lens or through a system consisting of a separated aperture and lens are studied. The propagation expressions for focused TGSM beams have been derived. Our main attention is focused on the effect of the coherence of partially coherent light, the twist parameter and the distance between the aperture and lens on the focusing properties of TGSM beams. Numerical calculation results are given to illustrate how the coherence of partially coherent light, the twist parameter and the distance between the aperture and lens affect the axial irradiance in the focused field.  相似文献

Based on the vectorial Rayleigh diffraction integral, the nonparaxial propagation of vectorial Gaussian beams diffracted at a circular aperture is studied. The far-field and paraxial cases are treated as special cases of our general result. It is shown that for the apertured case the f parameter still plays an important role in determining the nonparaxiality of vectorial diffracted Gaussian beams, but both the f parameter and truncation affect the beam evolution behavior.  相似文献

从部分相干光的传输理论出发,采用光束相干-偏振矩阵方法研究了被光阑衍射部分偏振高斯-谢尔模型光束的远场特性,对远场偏振和光强特性作了详细的数值计算和物理分析。研究结果表明,光阑衍射部分偏振高斯-谢尔模型光束的远场特性与光阑截断参量、光的空间相干性和衍射角有关。并与自由空间的传输特性和以前的工作作了比较分析。  相似文献

对双曲余弦高斯光束通过有硬边光阑的一阶ABCD光学系统的传输进行了研究,采用将矩形域函数表示为复高斯函数叠加的技巧,推导出了解析的传输公式,在特殊情况下,该公式简化为在无光阑情况下的传输公式,对双曲余弦高斯光束通过有光阑限制的薄膜镜聚焦进行了数值计算,计算结果与直接由柯林斯(Collins)公式所得结果一致,且此解析方法便于进行物理分析,可节约大量机时。  相似文献

As known, it is important for the propagation of Gaussian beams in optics. In this paper, based on the expanding a hard-edge circular aperture function as a finite sum of complex Gaussian functions and the scalar Rayleigh-Sommerfeld diffraction formula, an approximation analytical solution for Gaussian beams propagating through the anamorphic fractional Fourier transform system with an eccentric circular aperture is performed. Then, the detailed numerical calculation for the two-dimensional Gaussian beams in the above-mentioned optical system is presented. The simulation also shows that different location and size of aperture result in the change of diffracted field, including location, intensity and width. All these characteristics help us understand Gaussian beams propagation better.  相似文献

On the basis of the propagation equation of truncated standard and elegant Laguerre–Gaussian beams, the closed-form propagation expressions for the kurtosis parameter K of standard and elegant Laguerre–Gaussian beams passing through apertured optical systems are derived, it is shown that the kutosis parameter K of standard and elegant Laguerre–Gaussian beams depend on order p and index m of Laguerre polynomial, the beam-truncated parameter δ and the generalized Fresnel number F. This paper derives the closed-form expressions for nonparaxial phase flipped Gaussian (PFG) beams propagating in free space, through a knife edge and an aperture, which enable us to study nonparaxial propagation properties of PFG beams and to compare nonparaxial results with paraxial ones. It is found that the f parameter, offsetting distance of the knife edge and truncation parameter affect the nonparaxial beam propagation properties. Only under certain conditions the paraxial approximation is applicable. The results are illustrated by numerical examples.  相似文献

The propagation properties of flattened Gaussian beam with a misaligned circular aperture in turbulent atmosphere have been studied by using the extended Huygens-Fresnel formula. From the study and numerical calculation, the effects of aperture parameters on the propagation properties of flattened Gaussian beams in turbulent atmosphere have been illuminated. The results show that angle misalignments and lateral displacements of aperture create unsymmetrical average intensity distribution at any cross section. The intensity distributions are much more sensitive to the lateral displacement than to the angle misalignments. And the propagation properties of different flattened Gaussian beams in turbulent atmosphere are also compared.  相似文献

The influence of turbulence on the spectrum of diffracted chirped Gaussian pulsed beams is studied in detail. By using the quadratic approximation of the Rytov’s phase structure function and the finite expansion of the aperture function, the analytical expression for the spectrum of diffracted chirped Gaussian pulsed beams propagating through atmospheric turbulence is derived. It is shown that in free space there exist the on-axis and off-axis multi-spectral switch for diffracted chirped Gaussian pulsed beams. However, the turbulence results in a decrease of the spectral transition height, and the spectral switch even disappears when the turbulence is strong enough, which is very different from the behavior of undiffracted chirped Gaussian pulsed beams. Specially, with increasing the strength of turbulence, the higher-order spectral switch disappears firstly for on-axis case, while the lower-order spectral switch disappears firstly for off-axis case. In free space the on-axis spectrum is blue-shifted after a certain propagation distance, but the on-axis spectrum is red-shifted after a shorter propagation distance when the turbulence is strong enough. The spectral transition height increases with increasing the chirp parameter and decreasing the pulse duration, and the odd number order position without spectral shift is independent of the chirp parameter and pulse duration.  相似文献

Root mean square (rms) beam wander of J 0-Bessel Gaussian and I 0-Bessel Gaussian beams, normalized by the rms beam wander of the fundamental Gaussian beam, is evaluated in atmospheric turbulence. Our formulation is based on the first and the second statistical moments obtained from the Rytov series. It is found that after propagating in atmospheric turbulence, the collimated J 0-Bessel Gaussian and the I 0-Bessel Gaussian beams have smaller rms beam wander than that of the Gaussian beam, regardless of the choice of Bessel width parameter. However, the extent of such an advantage depends on the chosen width parameter, Gaussian source size, propagation distance and the wavelength. Focusing at finite distances of the considered beams causes the rms beam wander to decrease sharply at the propagation distances equal to the focusing parameter.  相似文献

Based on the beam coherent-polarization (BCP) matrix approach and propagation law of partially coherent beams, the focal shift and focal switch of partially polarized Gaussian Schell-model (PGSM) beams passing through a system with the aperture and spherically aberrated lens separated is studied in detail. Our main attention is focused on the effect of spherical aberration and partial coherence on the focal shift and focal switch of PGSM beams. It is shown that for polarizer-free case there is no focal switch of PGSM beams, the focal shift of PGSM beams is closely related with spherical aberration coefficient C4, auto-coherence length σa, truncation parameter δ and relative position s/f between the aperture and lens in general, and is independent of the cross-coherence length σc. After inserting a polarizer the focal switch can take place. Numerical calculation results are given to illustrate how the spherical aberration and partial coherence affect the focal shift and focal switch of PGSM beams.  相似文献

Based on the idea that the propagation of Gaussian beams passing through a cube corner reflector can be approximately regarded as a propagation of Gaussian beams passing through a hexagon aperture which is the intersection of three parallelogram apertures, and by using the method of expanding the aperture function into a finite sum of complex Gaussian functions, an approximate analytical propagation formula of Gaussian beams propagating through a cube corner reflector is derived and illustrated with numerical examples. It is found that the aberrance of the intensity distribution pattern becomes obvious with the increase of the incidence angle and orientation angle, and the aberrance brought by the incidence angle is larger that that by the orientation angle at same values.  相似文献
