A free boundary problem is considered of the equilibrium of an elastic plate with a crack. We suppose that some boundary mutual nonpenetration conditions are given on the crack faces in the form of simultaneous equalities and inequalities. We suggest a new approach to posing the problem in a smooth domain although it was stated in a domain with cuts originally. We treat the constraints on the components of the displacement vector and stress tensor on the crack faces as interior constraints, i.e., constraints given on subsets of the smooth domain of a solution.  相似文献

We study the problem of small motions of an ideal stratified liquid whose free surface consists of three regions: liquid surface without ice, a region of elastic ice, and a region of crumbled ice. The elastic ice is modeled by an elastic plate. The crumbled ice is understood as weighty particles of some matter floating on the free surface. Using the method of orthogonal projection of boundary conditions on a moving surface and the introduction of auxiliary problems, we reduce the original initial boundary value problem to an equivalent Cauchy problem for a second-order differential equation in a Hilbert space. We obtain conditions under which there exists a strong (with respect to time) solution of the initial boundary value problem describing the evolution of the hydrodynamic system under consideration.

An efficient numerical technique is developed for plane, homogeneous, isotropic, steady-state thermoelasticity problems involving arbitrary internal smooth and/or kinkedcracks. The thermal stress intensity factors and relative crack surface displacements due to steady-state temperature distributions are determined and compared to available solutions obtained by other methods. In these analyses the thermal boundary conditions across the crack surface are assumed to be insulated. The present approach involves coupling the direct boundary integral equations to newly developed crack integral equations.  相似文献

提出了一种简单而有效的平面弹性裂纹应力强度因子的边界元计算方法.该方法由Crouch与Starfield建立的常位移不连续单元和闫相桥最近提出的裂尖位移不连续单元构成A·D2在该边界元方法的实施过程中,左、右裂尖位移不连续单元分别置于裂纹的左、右裂尖处,而常位移不连续单元则分布于除了裂尖位移不连续单元占据的位置之外的整个裂纹面及其它边界.算例(如单向拉伸无限大板中心裂纹、单向拉伸无限大板中圆孔与裂纹的作用)说明平面弹性裂纹应力强度因子的边界元计算方法是非常有效的.此外,还对双轴载荷作用下有限大板中方孔分支裂纹进行了分析.这一数值结果说明平面弹性裂纹应力强度因子的边界元计算方法对有限体中复杂裂纹的有效性,可以揭示双轴载荷及裂纹体几何对应力强度因子的影响.  相似文献

A boundary value problem describing the equilibrium of a two-dimensional linear elastic body with a thin rectilinear elastic inclusion and possible delamination is considered. The stress and strain state of the inclusion is described using the equations of the Euler–Bernoulli beam theory. Delamination means the existence of a crack between the inclusion and the elastic matrix. Nonlinear boundary conditions preventing crack face interpenetration are imposed on the crack faces. As a result, problem with an unknown contact domain is obtained. The problem is solved numerically by applying an iterative algorithm based on the domain decomposition method and an Uzawa-type algorithm for solving variational inequalities. Numerical results illustrating the efficiency of the proposed algorithm are presented.  相似文献

In this paper, quasi-static fatigue crack growth simulations of homogeneous and bi-material interfacial cracks have been performed using element free Galerkin method (EFGM) under mechanical as well as thermo-elastic load. The thermo-elastic fracture problem is decoupled into thermal and elastic problems. The temperature distribution obtained by solving heat conduction equation is used as input in the elastic problem to get the displacement and stress fields. Discontinuities in the temperature and displacement fields are captured by extrinsic partition of unity enrichment technique. The values of stress intensity factors have been extracted from the EFGM solution by domain based interaction integral approach. The standard Paris fatigue crack growth law has been implemented for the life estimation of various model problems. The results obtained by EFGM under mechanical and thermo-elastic loads were compared with those obtained by FEM using remeshing approach.  相似文献

本文纠正了过去在裂纹弹塑性场匹配上存在的问题,采用线场分析方法,通过求得塑性区应力场的合理解答,使之与弹性精确场在裂纹线附近的弹塑性边界上匹配。本文就远场受单向拉伸及双向拉伸的理想弹塑性平面应力裂纹无限板,在完全放弃了小范围屈服条件的情况下求得了塑性区应力场、塑性区长度以及弹塑性边界的单位法向量在裂纹线附近足够精确的表达式。结果表明,无论单向拉伸和双向拉伸,塑性区应力分量σyxy,塑性区长度以及弹塑性边界的单位法向量在裂纹线附近的表达式完全相同,但塑性区沿X方向的正应力σx存在差别。  相似文献

A model for a macroscopic crack transverse to bridging fibers is developed based upon the Coulomb friction law, instead of the hypothesis of a constant frictional shear stress usually assumed in fiber/matrix debonding and matrix cracking analyses. The Lamé formulation, together with the Coulomb friction law, is adopted to determine the elastic states of fiber/matrix stress transfer through a frictionally constrained interface in the debonded region, and a modified shear lag model is used to evaluate the elastic responses in the bonded region. By treating the debonding process as a particular problem of crack propagation along the interface, the fracture mechanics approach is adopted to formulate a debonding criterion allowing one to determine the debonding length. By using the energy balance approach, the critical stress for propagating a semi-infinite fiber-bridged crack in a unidirectional fiber-reinforced composite is formulated in terms of friction coefficient and debonding toughness. The critical stress for matrix cracking and the corresponding stress distributions calculated by the present Coulomb friction model is compared with those predicted by the models of constant frictional shear stress. The effect of Poisson contraction caused by the stress re distribution between the fiber and matrix on the matrix cracking mechanics is shown and discussed in the present analysis. The breathing mechanism of a transversely cracked rotor and its influence on a rotor system that appears due to the shaft weight is studied. This breathing mechanism is based on experimental and simulation result for the crack shape reported in the literature. If the crack depth is small, the crack closure line is a straight line while for larger crack depths the crack closure becomes more curved. For both cases, a method is proposed for the evaluation of the stiffness losses in the cross section that contains the crack. This method is based on a cohesive zone model (CZM) instead of linear elastic fracture mechanics (LEFM) approach, because LEFM is valid only for the fully open crack and cannot be extended to other intermediate situations. As the crack is closed, the stress intensity factor (SIF) will not appear at the boundary between the closed cracked areas and the open cracked areas. The CZM is developed for mode-I plane strain conditions and accounts explicitly for triaxiality of the stress state by using constitutive relations. The proposed model gives more realistic results than models based on LEFM for the stiffness losses of the crack rotor system for a wide range of the crack depth. (© 2011 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. A method is proposed for determining the two-dimensional stressed state of a half space with a general rectilinear anisotropy. General representations of the complex potentials are obtained and studied, as well as expressions for the stresses and displacements, along with the boundary conditions for determining these functions. As an example, we solve for the stressed state of and calculate the stress intensity factors for a half plane (in the presence of a single elastic symmetry plane) with a circular (elliptical) hole and edge cracks. It is shown how the crack length, the closeness of a hole with a crack to the boundary, and the anisotropy of the material affect the stress concentration and stress intensity factors.  相似文献

Ice shelves are important elements of the climate system and sensitive to climate changes. The disintegration of large Antarctic ice shelves is the focus of this fracture mechanical analysis. Ice is a complex material which, depending on the context, can be seen as a viscous fluid or as an elastic solid. A fracture event usually occurs on a rather short time scale, thus the elastic response is important and linear elastic fracture mechanics can be used. The investigation of the stress intensity factor as a measure of crack tip loading is based on a 2-dimensional analysis of a single crack with a mode-I type load and additional body loads. This investigation is performed using configurational forces. Depth dependent density and temperature profiles are considered. The relevant parameters are obtained by literature, remote sensing data analysis and modeling of the ice dynamics. The criticality of wet surface cracks is investigated. In this paper we present two subjects of our actual research in the field. The first deals with the boundary conditions at the crack faces. The well known model by Hao and Shen gives opportunity to take the finite dielectric permeability of the crack into account, without having to solve the two- or three-dimensional coupled boundary value problem of solid material and crack medium. This approach, however, is based on the assumption of the electric field being perpendicular to the crack faces. We investigate this problem for arbitrary poling and field directions based on a combined analytical-numerical approach. The second focus of the paper is on the effective properties of piezoelectrics with cracks. Here, homogenization procedures are applied and extended towards coupled field problems including e.g. Maxwell stresses at internal boundaries and interfaces. The antiplane strain of an anisotropic elliptical cylinder with a crack is examined. An infinite system of linear algebraic equations is obtained from the boundary conditions on the cylinder surface to determine the constants in the complex potential of the problem. 建立了弹性-幂硬化蠕变性材料Ⅱ型界面裂纹准静态扩展的力学模型,求得了在裂纹表面自由和裂纹面有摩擦接触两种情况下,裂纹尖端应力场分离变量形式的渐近解.求解结果表明:Ⅱ型界面裂纹问题的应力、应变具有相同的奇异性;Ⅱ型界面裂纹尖端场不存在振荡奇异性;材料的幂硬化指数n和弹性模量比对裂纹尖端应力场幂硬化蠕变性材料区有着显著的影响,而弹性区仅受幂硬化指数n的影响,当n很大时,蠕变变形占主导地位,应力场趋于稳定,不随n的变化而变化;泊松比对裂纹尖端应力场的影响不明显.  相似文献

The primary obstacle preventing the analytical determination of physically sensible stresses at a crack tip is the presence of a mathematical singularity there. This singularity is best known in its elastic form; however it persists even in elasto-plastic crack-tip stresses. To overcome the difficulty we adopt the following strategy: we attempt to capture initial elastic stresses experimentally, than track subsequent elasto-plastic stress distributions analytically.We infer a finite stress at a crack tip from the experimental behaviour of cracked specimens at fracture when the specimens are made of a truly brittle material. Given a size-independent result, we argue that the crack-tip stress at fracture must equal the ultimate stress for such a material; thus dividing by the applied stress at the same point gives a measure of the stress concentration factor, KT. The approach is checked for size independence and against hole configurations with known theoretical, yet physically reasonable, KT. Then the effective experimental KT are taken as inputs for the second phase of the study in which we model the crack as being a smooth notch having the same stress concentration factor as found experimentally. In this way our configuration initially shares the same stresses at the crack tip as we inferred physically. Next we track effects of incremental plastic flow on a set of finite element grids. Satisfactory resolution in return for modest computational effort is obtained by employing a substructuring method. The accuracy in both the elastic and the elasto-plastic regime is checked against trial problems with exact solutions. Thereafter, physically interpretable stress distributions ahead of the crack are determined for a range of materials and for varying load levels.  相似文献

Pressure vessels subjected to high mechanical loadings can fail due to microscopic crack growth, i.e., stress corrosion cracking. A popular way to increase the crack resistance of a structure is by autofrettage. The standard approach to obtain a numerical solution for the involved fields is to discretize w.r.t. Cartesian coordinates as implemented in common commercial FE programs. However, this approach is computationally costly in comparison to pure elastic simulations—often rendering this method practically unfeasible. The current work shows that autofrettage can be simulated more efficiently in extensive bodies that can be described by a bijective map where certain symmetries are available in load and form.
