Summary. We construct and analyse a family of absorbing boundary conditions for diffusion equations with variable coefficients, curved artifical boundary, and arbitrary convection. It relies on the geometric identification of the Dirichlet to Neumann map and rational interpolation of in the complex plane. A novel wavelet-Galerkin method tailored to solve parabolic equations in finite domains is presented. The emphasis of the paper is on the development of the discretization formulations that are specific to finite domain parabolic equations with arbitrary boundary conditions based on weak form functionals. The proposed method also deals with the development of algorithms for computing the associated connection coefficients at arbitrary points. Here the Lagrange multiplier method is used to enforce the essential boundary conditions. The numerical results on a two-dimensional transient heat conducting problem are used to validate the proposed wavelet-Galerkin algorithm as an effective numerical method to solve finite domain parabolic equations.  相似文献

The uniqueness of solutions to two inverse Sturm–Liouville problems using three spectra is proven, based on the uniqueness of the solution-pair to an overdetermined Goursat–Cauchy boundary value problem. We discuss the uniqueness of the potential for a Dirichlet boundary condition at an arbitrary interior node, and for a Robin boundary condition at an arbitrary interior node, whereas at the exterior nodes we have Dirichlet boundary conditions in both situations. An efficient numerical technique is developed for plane, homogeneous, isotropic, steady-state thermoelasticity problems involving arbitrary internal smooth and/or kinkedcracks. The thermal stress intensity factors and relative crack surface displacements due to steady-state temperature distributions are determined and compared to available solutions obtained by other methods. In these analyses the thermal boundary conditions across the crack surface are assumed to be insulated. The present approach involves coupling the direct boundary integral equations to newly developed crack integral equations.  相似文献

The coefficient inverse extremal problems are studied for the stationary convectiondiffusion equation in a bounded domain under mixed boundary conditions on the boundary of the domain. The role of control is played by the velocity vector of a medium and the functions that are involved in the boundary conditions for temperature. The solvability of the extremal problems is proven both for an arbitrary weakly lower semicontinuous quality functional and for the particular quality functionals. On the basis of analysis of the optimality system some sufficient conditions are established on the initial data providing the uniqueness and stability of optimal solutions under sufficiently small perturbations of both the quality functional and one of the functions involved in the original boundary value problem.  相似文献

The reaction–diffusion equations with initial condition and nonlocal boundary conditions are discussed in this article. A reproducing kernel space is constructed, in which an arbitrary function satisfies the initial condition and nonlocal boundary conditions of the reaction‐diffusion equations. Based on the reproducing kernel space, a new algorithm for solving the reaction–diffusion equations with initial condition and nonlocal boundary conditions is presented. We consider boundary value problems of arbitrary order for linear differential equations on a geometric graph. Solutions of boundary value problems are coordinated at the interior vertices of the graph and satisfy given conditions at the boundary vertices. For considered boundary value problems, we construct adjoint boundary value problems and obtain a self-adjointness criterion. We describe the structure of the solution set of homogeneous self-adjoint boundary value problems with alternating coefficients of a differential equation and obtain nondegeneracy conditions for these boundary value problems.  相似文献

A numerical method for solving the plane problem of determining the stress state of a tube of arbitrary section immersed in a homogeneous incompressible liquid is proposed. The change from the boundary conditions for this problem to the boundary conditions for a biharmonic stress function is carried out, which enables the algorithm for solving boundary value problems in the case of a polyharmonic function developed earlier to be used to solve the problem under consideration. It is shown that the boundary conditions for doubly-connected domains contain three unknown constants. The conditions for finding these constants in a form that is convenient for the implementation of a numerical algorithm are obtained. Tubes with sections in the form of concentric, eccentric and elliptic rings are considered as examples.  相似文献

The theory of singular self-adjoint eigenvalue problems developed by Weyl [13], Stone [12], Kodaira [2] and others has been generalized by A. Schneider [8], [9], [10], [11] to real S-hermitian systems of differential equations with real boundary conditions. Here the theory of singular S-hermitian boundary-value problems for arbitrary complex systems of differential equations with complex boundary conditions is developed. Here we discuss three-dimensional so-called basic and mixed boundary value problems (BVP) for steady state oscillations of piecewise homogeneous anisotropic bodies imbedded into an infinite elastic continuum. Uniqueness is shown with the help of generalized Sommerfeld–Kupradze radiation conditions, while existence follows for arbitrary values of the oscillation parameter by the reduction of the original interface transmission BVPs to equivalent uniquely solvable boundary integral or pseudodifferential equations on the interfaces. For the basic BVPs, we show classical regularity and, in addition for the mixed BVPs that the solutions are Hölder continuous with exponent α ∈ (0, 1/2) in the neighbourhood of the curves of discontinuity of the boundary and transmission conditions.  相似文献

This work deals with the time-dependent Maxwell system in the case of TE-polarized electromagnetic waves, when associated with a family of first-order local boundary conditions. The boundary conditions are derived by using a micro-diagonalization method, actuated by the standard one of M.E. Taylor and involving pseudodifferential technics. The conditions differ from an arbitrary function and any of them leads to a well-posed mixed problem that is described by a continuous semi-group. The arbitrary function can be seen as a parameter and an asymptotic analysis in time shows that it can be chosen so that the resulting boundary condition is absorbing: the system is related to an energy functional that converges towards zero as time tends to infinity. By involving an invariant space for the Maxwell system, the limit state can be explicitly written as a solution to a boundary-value problem depending on the initial data. The long time behavior of the solution is then completely analyzed.  相似文献

We study boundary-value problems for a homogeneous partial differential equation of the second order with arbitrary constant complex coefficients and a homogeneous symbol in a bounded domain with smooth boundary. Necessary and sufficient conditions for the solvability of the Cauchy problem are obtained. These conditions are written in the form of a moment problem on the boundary of the domain and applied to the investigation of boundary-value problems.
