本文首先给出了一种新的判定多项式稳定的充要条件（引理2.1）.然后,在此基础上,研究了区间多项式的鲁棒稳定性,得到了若干判别区间多项式的充分条件（定理2.2-定理2.3）.由于所得的摄动界完全可由原末被扰动的多项式的系数所决定,这使得本文的方法比现有的结果简单好用.文末的例子说明了本文方法的有效性.

Vacuum States and Equidistribution of the Random Sequence for Glimm's Scheme (continuation)

This is a continuation of paper [1]. The difference between this paper and paper [1] is that the initial functions considered here are step functions and those considered in [1] are. Lipschitz continuous. Since there are centered rarefaction waves here, more delicate techniques are needed. It may be a necessary step in solving p-System with general initial functions by Glimm's scheme. Notice that this paper can not be deduced from [1].

Continuous dependence of heat flux on spatial geometry for the generalized Maxwell-Cattaneo system

In the Generalized Maxwell-Cattaneo equations the temperature and heat flux are separate variables that are related through a system of partial differential equations. In a previous paper [5] the authors established continuous dependence of the temperature on spatial geometry. In this paper inequalities are derived which imply continuous dependence of the heat flux on spatial geometry. The arguments employed here are quite different and more complicated than those of the previous paper.     

Objective Function Features Providing Barriers to Rapid Global Optimization

The purposes of this discussion paper are twofold. First, features of an objective function landscape which provide barriers to rapid finding of the global optimum are described. Second, stochastic algorithms are discussed and their performance examined, both theoretically and computationally, as the features change. The paper lays a foundation for the later findings paper.

Quasi-particle theory of optical soliton interaction

The intra-channel collision of optical solitons, with non-Kerr law nonlinearities, is studied in this paper by the aid of quasi-particle theory. The perturbations terms that are considered in this paper are both of Hamiltonian as well as non-Hamiltonian type. The suppression of soliton–soliton interaction, in presence of these perturbation terms, is achieved. The nonlinearities that are studied in this paper are Kerr, power, parabolic and dual-power laws. The numerical simulations support the quasi-particle theory.     

On the one-commodity pickup-and-delivery traveling salesman problem with stochastic demands

This paper studies how to set the vehicle capacity for traveling Salesman Problems where some of the customer demands are stochastic. The analyses are done for the one-commodity pickup-and-delivery TSP, as this problem also includes the setting of the initial load. The paper first considers feasibility issues. This includes finding the smallest vehicle capacity and some initial load such that a given tour is feasible for all scenarios. Different variants are considered as a function of the time when information becomes available. The paper then analyzes the case where some penalties are paid for routing a tour unable to handle customer demands. Various types of penalties are considered. The paper studies properties of the minimal expected penalty of a given tour, which are then used to provide approaches to find near-optimal tours. Computational results are presented.     

Remarks on the “Reply to Comments on “Fuzzy fractional order sliding mode controller for nonlinear systems,Commun Nonlinear Sci Numer Simulat 15 (2010) 963–978””

In this letter, we show that the main results of the reply paper [1] are wrong. We demonstrate that the authors of Delavari et al. (2012) [1] have carried out an essential flaw in the proof approach of the system stability. Therefore, we prove that the defects of the paper [2] which have been described in the comment paper [3] are still continued. In this regard, we conclude that the results of our comment paper [3] are correct.     

Quadratic stabilizability of uncertain linear systems containing both constant and time-varying uncertain parameters

This paper is concerned with the problem of stabilizing an uncertain linear system using state feedback control. The uncertain systems under consideration are described by state equations containing unknown but bounded uncertain parameters. The uncertain parameters are classified into two types: either constant or time-varying. Indeed, the main feature of this paper is that it allows one to exploit the fact that some of the uncertain parameters are constant. In order to investigate the question of stabilizability, quadratic Lyapunov functions are used. Hence, the paper deals with the notion of quadratic stabilizability. The main result of the paper is a necessary and sufficient condition for the quadratic stabilizability of the uncertain systems under consideration.

The characterization of Γ-modules in terms of fuzzy soft Γ-submodules

In this paper, we focus on combining the theories of fuzzy soft sets with Γ-modules, and establishing a new framework for fuzzy soft Γ-submodules. The main contributions of the paper are 3-fold. First, we present the concepts of (R, S)-bi-Γ-submodules, quasi-Γ-submodules and regular Γ-modules. Meanwhile, some illustrative examples are given to show the rationality of the definitions introduced in this paper. Second, several new kinds of generalized fuzzy soft Γ-submodules are proposed, and related properties and mutual relationships are also investigated. Third, we discover some intrinsic connections between the generalized fuzzy soft Γ-submodules presented in this paper and crisp Γ-submodules, and describe the relationships between regular Γ-modules and the generalized fuzzy soft Γ-submodules presented in this paper.

Mean-semivariance models for fuzzy portfolio selection

This paper discusses portfolio selection problem in fuzzy environment. In the paper, semivariance is originally presented for fuzzy variable, and three properties of the semivariance are proven. Based on the concept of semivariance of fuzzy variable, two fuzzy mean-semivariance models are proposed. To solve the new models in general cases, a fuzzy simulation based genetic algorithm is presented in the paper. In addition, two numerical examples are also presented to illustrate the modelling idea and the effectiveness of the designed algorithm.

Estimation of static travel times in a dynamic route guidance system—II

In an earlier paper a method for computing static profiles of link travel times was given. In this paper, the centrality of such profiles for ATIS is examined and the methods given in the earlier paper are applied to actual data. Except for a minor, easily correctable problem, the methods are shown to work very well under real-life conditions.
