Frame expansions in separable Banach spaces   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
Banach frames are defined by straightforward generalization of (Hilbert space) frames. We characterize Banach frames (and Xd-frames) in separable Banach spaces, and relate them to series expansions in Banach spaces. In particular, our results show that we can not expect Banach frames to share all the nice properties of frames in Hilbert spaces.  相似文献

It was recently shown that on a large class of important Banach spaces there exist no linear methods which are able to approximate the Hilbert transform from samples of the given function. This implies that there is no linear algorithm for calculating the Hilbert transform which can be implemented on a digital computer and which converges for all functions from the corresponding Banach spaces. The present paper develops a much more general framework which also includes non-linear approximation methods. All algorithms within this framework have only to satisfy an axiom which guarantees the computability of the algorithm based on given samples of the function. The paper investigates whether there exists an algorithm within this general framework which converges to the Hilbert transform for all functions in these Banach spaces. It is shown that non-linear methods give actually no improvement over linear methods. Moreover, the paper discusses some consequences regarding the Turing computability of the Hilbert transform and the existence of computational bases in Banach spaces.  相似文献

The concept of reproducing kernel Hilbert space has been recently generalized to the case of Banach spaces. This paper is concerned with the stability of linear relations in Banach and Hilbert spaces. Several important results about the stability of closedness and the stability of indices of operators in Banach spaces are extended to the linear relations in Banach spaces. Moreover, the stability of deficiency indices of dissipative linear relations in Hilbert spaces is studied. As an important application, we discuss the stability of deficiency indices of dissipative linear relations generated by second-order difference expressions.  相似文献

Fusion frames and g-frames in Hilbert spaces are generalizations of frames, and frames were extended to Banach spaces. In this article we introduce fusion frames, g-frames, Banach g-frames in Banach spaces and we show that they share many useful properties with their corresponding notions in Hilbert spaces. We also show that g-frames, fusion frames and Banach g-frames are stable under small perturbations and invertible operators.  相似文献

In this paper, the class of nonspreading mappings in Banach spaces is introduced. This class contains the recently introduced class of firmly nonexpansive type mappings in Banach spaces and the class of firmly nonexpansive mappings in Hilbert spaces. Among other things, we obtain a fixed point theorem for a single nonspreading mapping in Banach spaces. Using this result, we also obtain a common fixed point theorem for a commutative family of nonspreading mappings in Banach spaces. Received: 10 August 2007  相似文献

This paper firstly discusses the existence of strongly irreducible operators on Banach spaces. It shows that there exist strongly irreducible operators on Banach spaces with w*-separable dual. It also gives some properties of strongly irreducible operators on Banach spaces. In particular, if T is a strongly irreducible operator on an infinite-dimensional Banach space, then T is not of finite rank and T is not an algebraic operator. On Banach spaces with subsymmetric bases, including infinite-dimensional separable Hilbert spaces, it shows that quasisimilarity does not preserve strong irreducibility. In addition, we show that the strong irreducibility of an operator does not imply the strong irreducibility of its conjugate operator, which is not the same as the property in Hilbert spaces.  相似文献

A special case of our main theorem, when combined with a known result of Brezis and Pazy, shows that in reflexive Banach spaces with a uniformly Gâteaux differentiable norm, resolvent consistency is equivalent to convergence for nonlinear contractive algorithms. (The linear case is due to Chernoff.) The proof uses ideas of Crandall, Liggett, and Baillon. Other applications of our theorem include results concerning the generation of nonlinear semigroups (e.g., a nonlinear Hille-Yosida theorem for “nice” Banach spaces that includes the familiar Hilbert space result), the geometry of Banach spaces, extensions of accretive operators, invariance criteria, and the asymptotic behavior of nonlinear semigroups and resolvents. The equivalence between resolvent consistency and convergence for nonlinear contractive algorithms seems to be new even in Hilbert space. Our nonlinear Hille-Yosida theorem is the first of its kind outside Hilbert space. It establishes a biunique correspondence between m-accretive operators and semigroups on nonexpansive retracts of “nice” Banach spaces and provides affirmative answers to two questions of Kato.  相似文献

We study the short-time Fourier transformation, modulation spaces, Gabor representations and time-frequency localization operators, for functions and tempered distributions that have as range space a Banach or a Hilbert space. In the Banach space case the theory of modulation spaces contains some modifications of the scalar-valued theory, depending on the Banach space. In the Hilbert space case the modulation spaces have properties similar to the scalar-valued case and the Gabor frame theory essentially works. For localization operators in this context symbols are operator-valued. We generalize two results from the scalar-valued theory on continuity on certain modulation spaces when the symbol belongs to an Lp,q space and M, respectively. The first result is true for any Banach space as range space, and the second result is true for any Hilbert space as range space.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the split common fixed point problem for new demimetric mappings in Banach spaces. Using the idea of Mann’s iteration, we prove a weak convergence theorem for finding a solution of the split common fixed point problem in Banach spaces. Furthermore, using the idea of Halpern’s iteration, we obtain a strong convergence theorem for finding a solution of the problem in Banach spaces. Using these results, we obtain well-known and new weak and strong convergence theorems in Hilbert spaces and Banach spaces.  相似文献

In this paper, we extend the Moreau (Riesz) decomposition theorem from Hilbert spaces to Banach spaces. Criteria for a closed subspace to be (strongly) orthogonally complemented in a Banach space are given. We prove that every closed subspace of a Banach space X with dim X ≥ 3 (dim X ≤ 2) is strongly orthognally complemented if and only if the Banach space X is isometric to a Hilbert space (resp. strictly convex), which is complementary to the well-known result saying that every closed subspace of a Banach space X is topologically complemented if and only if the Banach space X is isomorphic to a Hilbert space.  相似文献

This paper focuses on the regularity of linear embeddings of finite-dimensional subsets of Hilbert and Banach spaces into Euclidean spaces. We study orthogonal sequences in a Hilbert space H, whose elements tend to zero, and similar sequences in the space c0 of null sequences. The examples studied show that the results due to Hunt and Kaloshin (Regularity of embeddings of infinite-dimensional fractal sets into finite-dimensional spaces, Nonlinearity 12 (1999) 1263-1275) and Robinson (Linear embeddings of finite-dimensional subsets of Banach spaces into Euclidean spaces, Nonlinearity 22 (2009) 711-728) for subsets of Hilbert and Banach spaces with finite box-counting dimension are asymptotically sharp. An analogous argument allows us to obtain a lower bound for the power of the logarithmic correction term in an embedding theorem proved by Olson and Robinson (Almost bi-Lipschitz embeddings and almost homogeneous sets, Trans. Amer. Math. Soc. 362 (1) (2010) 145-168) for subsets X of Hilbert spaces when XX has finite Assouad dimension.  相似文献

In this article, the generalized Roper-Suffridge extension operator in Banach spaces for locally biholomorphic mappings is introduced. It is proved that this operator preserves the starlikeness on some domains in Banach spaces but does not preserves convexity for some cases. Moreover, the growth theorem, covering theorem, and the radius of starlikeness are discussed. Some results of Roper and Suffridge, Gong and Liu, Graham et al in C^n are extended to Hilbert spaces or Banach spaces.  相似文献
