The Teichmuller distance on the space of spherical CR structures Dedicated to Professor Sheng GONG on the occasion of his 75th birthday

We define the Teichmuller pseudodistance on the space of spherical CR structures on a fixed compact manifold by using quasiconformal mappings between spherical CR manifolds. The pseudodistance is shown to be a complete distance.     

1-quasiconformal mappings on a （2,2）-type quadric

This paper gets the Beltrami equations satisfied by a 1-quasiconformal mapping, which are exactly CR or anti-CR equations on （2,2）-type quadric Q0. This means a 1-quasiconformal mapping on Q0 is CR or anti-CR. This reduces the determination of 1- quasiconformal mappings to a problem on the theory of several complex analysis. The result about the group of CR automorphisms is used to determine the unit component of group of 1-quasiconformal mappings.     

Gromov hyperbolicity of periodic planar graphs

The study of hyperbolic graphs is an interesting topic since the hyperbolicity of a geodesic metric space is equivalent to the hyperbolicity of a graph related to it.The main result in this paper is a very simple characterization of the hyperbolicity of a large class of periodic planar graphs.     

On the extremal sets of extremal quasiconformal mappings

The properties of the extremal sets of extremal quasiconformal mappings are discussed. It is proved that if an extremal Beltrami coefficient μ(z) is not uniquely extremal, then there exists an extremal Beltrami coefficient v(z) in its equivalent class and a compact subset E Δ with positive measure such that the essential upper bound of v(z) on E is less than the norm of [μ].     

Hausdorff dimension of quasi-cirles of polygonal mappings and its applications

We show that the Hausdorff dimension of quasi-circles of polygonal mappings is one.Furthermore,we apply this result to the theory of extremal quasiconformal mappings.Let [μ] be a point in the universal Teichmller space such that the Hausdorff dimension of fμ(Δ) is bigger than one.We show that for every kn∈(0,1) and polygonal differentials ψn,n=1,2,...,the sequence {[kn ψn/|ψn|]} cannot converge to [μ] under the Teichmer metric.     

Homeomorphic extension of strongly spirallike mappings in C~n

In this paper we consider a proper subclass nA of the full class of spirallike mappings on the Euclidean unit ball Bn in Cn with respect to a given linear operator A. We use the method of subordination chains to obtain an upper growth result for nA , and we obtain various examples of mappings in the same class of normalized biholomorphic mappings on the unit ball Bn in Cn . We also prove that the class nA is compact, while the full class of spirallike mappings with respect to a linear operator need not be compact in dimension n≥2, even when the operator is diagonal. This is one of the motivations for considering the class nA . Finally we prove that if f is a quasiregular strongly spirallike mapping on Bn such that ||[Df(z)]-1 Af(z)|| is uniformly bounded on Bn , then f extends to a homeomorphism of R2n onto itself. In addition, if A + A* = 2aI n for some a 0, this extension is also quasiconformal on R2n .     

A proof of Sethares'''' conjecture

Let (?)(z) be holomorphic in the unit disk △ and meromorphic on △. Suppose / is a Teichmuller mapping with complex dilatation In 1968, Sethares conjectured that f is extremal if and only if either (i)(?) has a double pole or (ii)(?) has no pole of order exceeding two on (?)△. The "if" part of the conjecture had been solved by himself. We will give the affirmative answer to the "only if" part of the conjecture. In addition, a more general criterion for extremality of quasiconformal mappings is constructed in this paper, which generalizes the "if" part of Sethares' conjecture and improves the result by Reich and Shapiro in 1990.     

ON THE SHARP GROWTH, COVERING THEOREMS FOR NORMALIZED BIHOLOMORPHIC MAPPINGS IN C^n

In this article.a normalized biholomorphic mapping f defined on bounded starlike circular domain in C″is considered,where z=0 is a zero of order k 1 of f(z)(?) The sharp growth.covering theorems for almost starlike mappings of order a and starlile mappings of order wave established.Meanwhile,the construction of the above mappings on bounded starlike circular domain in C~n is also discussed,it provides the extremal mappings for the growth,covering theorems of the above mappings.     

VARIABILITY SETS AND HAMILTON SEQUENCES

This paper studies extremal quasiconformal mappings. Some properties of the variability set are obtained and the Hamilton sequences which are induced by point shift differentials are also discussed.

The Distortion Theorem for Quasiconformal Mappings, Schottky's Theorem and Holomorphic Motions

We prove the equivalence of Schottky's theorem and the distortion theorem for planar quasiconformal mappings via the theory of holomorphic motions. The ideas lead to new methods in the study of distortion theorems for quasiconformal mappings and a new proof of Teichmüller's distortion theorem.

     

Extremal polygonal quasiconformal mappings and biLipschitz mappings

We show that the extremal polygonal quasiconformal mappings are biLipschitz with respect to the hyperbolic metric in the unit disk.     

Quasiconformal extensions to space of Weierstrass-Enneper lifts

The Ahlfors-Weill extension of a conformal mapping of the disk is generalized to the Weierstrass-Enneper lift of a harmonic mapping of the disk to a minimal surface, producing homeomorphic and quasiconformal extensions to space. The extension is defined through the family of best Möbius approximations to the lift applied to a bundle of euclidean circles orthogonal to the disk. Extension of the planar harmonic map is also obtained subject to additional assumptions on the dilatation. The hypotheses involve bounds on a generalized Schwarzian derivative for harmonic mappings in terms of the hyperbolic metric of the disk and the Gaussian curvature of the minimal surface. Hyperbolic convexity plays a crucial role.     

Homogenized coefficients,quasiregular mappings and higher integrability of the gradients in two dimensional conductivity

The goal of this paper is to point out a connection between certain -closure problems relative to families of elliptic operators and the theory of planar quasiconformal mappings. In particular we consider a model (-closure) problem arising in two dimensional linear conductivity and we apply a recent result concerning the degree of integrability and the so-called measure dilatation of quasiconformal mappings to extract new information on the particular problem under consideration. Quasiconformality, homeomorphisms between metric measure spaces preserving quasiminimizers, and uniform density property

We characterize quasiconformal mappings as those homeomorphisms between two metric measure spaces of locally bounded geometry that preserve a class of quasiminimizers. We also consider quasiconformal mappings and densities in metric spaces and give a characterization of quasiconformal mappings in terms of the uniform density property introduced by Gehring and Kelly.
