空间频率模式的光子带隙反映了光波在周期性结构中的线性传输特性.以这种线性传输特性为基础,研究了蜂巢光子晶格中光波的无衍射和反常折射.通过详细分析带隙结构第一通带上的衍射与折射特性,得出了光波发生反常衍射和折射的入射条件.匹配不同的入射条件,数值模拟了光波的无衍射传输和反常折射现象.结果表明:将入射光束的波矢设置在蜂巢晶格布里渊区中正常、反常衍射区的交界处,可使高斯光束沿x轴、y轴方向的衍射得到有效抑制;以多光束干涉场作为入射光场,可对蜂巢晶格进行模式匹配,激发第二布里渊区的传输模式;进一步将模式匹配后入射光场的波矢设置在反常折射区,可实现光波的反常折射.  相似文献

研究了正方晶格和三角晶格空气背景硅介质柱光子晶体线缺陷波导导模左带隙边缘处的亮孤子脉冲传播特性及其慢光延迟特性. 采用平面波展开法仿真分析了波导相邻两行介质柱大小r1和r2以及波导宽度D对孤子脉冲传输所需峰值功率P0和延迟时间Ts的影响,总结了其变化规律. 通过调整波导结构得到了正方晶格和三角晶格优化波导结构,优化后,正方晶格结构波导P0减小了81.17%,Ts增加了66.32%;三角晶格结构波导P0减小了73.7%,Ts增加了67.63%,实现了孤子传输性能的大幅度优化. 关键词: 光子晶体波导 光孤子 峰值功率 延迟时间  相似文献

光子晶格作为一种光学周期性离散体系,具有通常均匀介质所无法比拟的独特性质,它为空间离散孤子、表面波以及衍射操控等一系列线性和非线性离散动力学行为的实验观测提供了便利条件,同时在全光路由、全光开关和光子计算机等方面具有重要的应用前景.文章简要回顾了南开大学的研究小组近期在二维光子晶格中有关空间带隙孤子的一系列研究工作,包括二维基本带隙孤子、类偶极带隙孤子、带隙孤子串以及涡旋带隙孤子等.在有的实验过程中,文章作者清晰地观测到探测光束的频谱整形,波常数从具有反常衍射的导带底部演化到光子禁带中,并且通过干涉图反映的相位关系验证了带隙孤子形成.实验的结果可以为其他离散系统中带隙孤子态的观测提供有益参考和启示.  相似文献

电磁波在周期介质中的传播及二维光子晶体的光子带结构   总被引:5,自引:4,他引:1  
光子晶体是光学与凝聚态物理交叉的新领域,也是近年来应用物理学的一个重要研究领域,它是一种由介电常数高的(低的)介质在另一种介电常数低的(高的)背景介质中周期排列所组成的人造多维周期结构材料,能够产生光子带隙。频率落在带隙内的光在晶体里沿任何方向都不能传播,因而具有能够抑制原子、分子的自发辐射等诱人的光电子学特性,在基础研究和实际应用上都有着巨大的潜力。本文在这一领域里进行了富有成效的研究,获得了很好的结果。主要有:(1)利用平面波展开方法来计算二维光子晶体的带隙结构。首先,我们设计正方晶胞的二维光子晶体模型。设x3方向为介质柱的轴方向,二维周期结构在x1-x2平面上。晶胞的晶格常数为a,半径为r,介质柱和空气柱的介电常数分别为εa=17和εb=1,a>2r。设计的核心思想是通过降低光子晶体结构的对称性,消除光子能带在晶体的布里渊区高对称点上的本征简并。(2)对于二维光子晶体的电磁波理论及周期介质中的Bloch波解做了详细的推导,给出了光子晶体中禁带存在的理论依据。同时以正方格子晶格的二维光子晶体为例,验证了电介质在空气圆孔中的排列存在E偏振和H偏振的光子带隙重叠区,称为绝对光子带隙。对于二维的光子晶体,两种本征偏振模式的光子能带结构可以独立地调节,以实现两者的光子带隙的最优重叠, 从而大大提高了二维光子晶体的完全带隙宽度。  相似文献

二维斜方晶格光子晶体在光学聚焦器件及光子晶体波导中有重要的应用价值。对二维斜方晶格的第一布里渊区进行研究发现,保持斜方晶格基矢模长比R不变,改变倾斜角θ,第一布里渊区形状将在矩形和平行六边形间交替变化,所需的倒格矢也相应地变化,利用倒格矢正交临界条件可以对第一布里渊区的形状和所需的倒格矢进行划分。最后,利用平面波展开法对一种斜方晶格光子晶体进行带隙计算,验证了这种划分的正确性。  相似文献

利用胶体自组装、高温烧结和HF酸刻蚀技术,制备了SiO2微球非密堆积面心立方(FCC)结构的胶体晶体,并以此为模板,利用溶胶凝胶方法和NaOH湿法刻蚀技术制备了TiO2空心微球非密堆积FCC结构光子晶体.利用电子显微镜分析了晶体的结构,用平面波展开法对该结构进行了能带计算与分析.计算结果表明,制备的TiO2空心微球非密堆积FCC结构光子晶体在低能区的第二、第三能带之间除布里渊区的W点仍保持简并外,其余各点简并都已经消除. 关键词: 空心微球 非密堆积 光子晶体 光子带隙  相似文献

基于量子自旋霍尔或谷霍尔效应的拓扑光子结构具有对缺陷免疫和抑制背向散射的特性,对设计新型低损耗的光子器件起到了关键作用.本文巧妙设计了一种具有时间反演对称性的二维电介质光子晶体,实现了量子自旋霍尔效应和量子谷霍尔效应的共存.首先基于蜂巢结构排布的硅柱经过收缩扩张,打开了布里渊区Γ点的四重简并点形成拓扑平庸或非平庸的光子带隙,实现量子自旋霍尔效应.经过扩张后的蜂巢晶格演化成为Kagome结构,之后在Kagome晶格中加入正负扰动,打破光子晶体的空间反演对称性,导致布里渊区的非等价谷K和K′的简并点打开并出现完整带隙,实现了量子谷霍尔效应.数值计算结果表明,由拓扑平庸与非平庸、正扰动与负扰动的光子晶体组成的界面上可实现单向传输且对弯曲免疫的拓扑边缘态.最后,设计了基于两种效应共存的四通道系统,此系统为光学编码与稳健信号传输提供潜在方法,为电磁波的操纵提供了更大的灵活性.  相似文献

理论研究表明,在基于光子晶体的耦合腔波导中,杂质带的色散性质取决于相邻缺陷间局域电磁场的特性,而非缺陷间距离的大小.在第一布里渊区中出现的杂质带的反常色散实际上是能带折叠的结果.通过计算结构的有效折射率,证实了杂质带色散是正常色散. 关键词: 光子晶体 反常色散 耦合腔 杂质带  相似文献

利用蜂窝结构光子晶体具有两个范围较大绝对带隙的特性,设计新型六角蜂窝结构光子晶体异质结,采用平面波展开和超晶胞相结合的方法来研究异质结的能带结构特性.给出异质结的结构和相应的能带图,分析异质结界面传导模,研究两侧结构作横向拉开和侧向滑移时对传导模的影响,讨论这些结构的实际可行性.计算结果表明,没有任何晶格移动,此种结构异质结在绝对带隙中就有导模存在,两边晶格横向拉开对导模影响较大,而侧向滑移的影响则较小. 关键词: 光子晶体 异质结 光子带隙 超晶胞  相似文献

把具有宽完全带隙的粗锐复合的周期常数为a的二维正方格子再与周期常数为a2的大周期简单正方格子复合,发现大周期正方格子起缺陷作用.并发现当a2<5a时,缺陷态明显地随入射角度变化.此变化随a2的增大而减少.用FDTD方法计算了其透射和反射谱,结果表明缺陷峰透射率与a2的大小成反比.另外还发现: 缺陷峰结构与大周期正方格子的圆柱直径的关系曲线与a2关系不大.通过调节大周期正方格子的圆柱的直径,可获得单 关键词: 光子晶体 光子能隙 复式结构 缺陷态  相似文献

Brillouin zone spectroscopy of nonlinear photonic lattices   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
We present a novel, real-time, experimental technique for linear and nonlinear Brillouin zone spectroscopy of photonic lattices. The method relies on excitation with random-phase waves and far-field visualization of the spatial spectrum of the light exiting the lattice. Our technique facilitates mapping the borders of the extended Brillouin zones and the areas of normal and anomalous dispersion within each zone. For photonic lattices with defects (e.g., photonic crystal fibers), our technique enables far-field visualization of the defect mode overlaid on the extended Brillouin zone structure of the lattice. The technique is general and can be used for photonic crystal fibers as well as for periodic structures in areas beyond optics.  相似文献

We study the surface defect gap solitons in an interface between a defect of one-dimensional dual-frequency lattices and the uniform media. Some unique properties are revealed that such lattices can broaden the region of semi-finite gap, and the semi-finite gap exists not only in the positive and zero defects but also in the negative defect; unlike in the regular lattices, the semi-finite gap exists in the positive and zero defects but does not exist in the negative defect. In particular, stable solitons exist almost in the whole semi-finite gap for the positive and zero defects. These properties are different from other lattices with defects. In addition, it is found that the existence of surface dual-frequency lattice solitons does not need a threshold power.  相似文献

This paper stuides numerically the model equation in a one dimensional defective photonic lattice by modifying the potential function to a periodic function. It is found that defect modes (DMs) can be regarded as Bloch modes which are excited from the extended photonic band-gap structure at Bloch wave-numbers with k x = 0. We address the existence,stability and propagation dynamics of solitons supported by large-scale defects surrounded by the harmonic photonic lattices imprinted in the defocusing saturable nonlinear medium.Several families of soliton solutions,including flat-topped,dipole-like,and multipole-like solitons,can be supported by the defected lattices with different heights of defects.The width of existence domain of solitons is determined solely by the saturable parameter.The existence domains of various types of solitons can be shifted by the variations of defect size,lattice depth and soliton order.Solitons in the model are stable in a wide parameter window,provided that the propagation constant exceeds a critical value,which is in sharp contrast to the case where the soliton trains is supported by periodic lattices imprinted in defocusing saturable nonlinear medium.We also find stable solitons in the semi-infinite gap which rarely occur in the defocusing media.  相似文献

We report on the existence of surface defect linear modes at an interface between the defect of one-dimensional photonic lattices and the uniform media. The interface defect can significantly affect the properties of linear modes. Such new type of modes exists in the first bandgap for positive defects; while they exist in the second bandgap for negative defects. Particularly, when a Gaussian beam, which is similar to the linear mode, is launched at the defect site, we find that the Gaussian beam can be strongly confined at defect site and robustness along longitudinal direction for a long distance. When launched at a small angle into the defect site, the Gaussian beam exhibits stable snake propagation.  相似文献

Single- and double-periodic one-dimensional photonic lattices are formed in lithium niobate using both titanium in-diffusion and holographic grating recording. We investigate linear band structures and diffraction properties of such superlattices and observe a decrease of discrete diffraction with increasing modulation depth of the second superimposed lattice. In weakly modulated superlattices with tailored diffraction properties, our results demonstrate the formation of discrete solitons having a propagation constant inside the extra mini-gap formed inside the Brillouin zone. The pressure dependence of the soft modes in the paraphase (boundary of the Brillouin zone, X point) and the ferrophase (center of the Brillouin zone, Γ point) is studied in the model ferroelastic crystals Hg2I2. An anomalous linear pressure dependence of the soft-mode frequency in the paraphase (p<p c ) is observed. This paper presents a theoretical analysis of the existence and stability of multi-peak solitons in parity–time-symmetric Bessel optical lattices with defects in nonlinear media. The results demonstrate that there always exists a critical propagation constant μ c for the existence of multi-peak solitons regardless of whether the nonlinearity is self-focusing or self-defocusing. In self-focusing media, multi-peak solitons exist when the propagation constant μ > μ c . In the self-defocusing case, solitons exist only when μ < μ c . Only low-power solitons can propagate stably when random noise perturbations are present. Positive defects help stabilize the propagation of multi-peak solitons when the nonlinearity is self-focusing. When the nonlinearity is self-defocusing, however, multi-peak solitons in negative defects have wider stable regions than those in positive defects.  相似文献
