The structural features of the methylated pyridine series have been studied by quantum chemical methods. The aromatic character of these molecules is derived from the frontier molecular orbital energies, harmonic oscillator model of aromaticity (HOMA), and nucleus independent chemical shift (NICS) values. Hybrid density functional theory with 6-311++G(d,p) basis set was employed for all calculations.  相似文献

N-Glyoxyloyl-(2R)-bornane-10,2-sultam (1a) and (1R)-8-phenylmenthyl glyoxylate (1b) react stereoselectively with simple nitroalkanes giving diastereomeric nitroalcohols with high asymmetric induction. The glyoximide 1a is proved to be a highly efficient chiral inducer, superior to glyoxylate 1b. In all cases, the absolute configuration (2S) and relative configuration, syn for the major diastereoisomers, were confirmed.  相似文献

The reactions of urea, methylurea and dimethylureas with glyoxylic acid and its methyl ester to give α-substituted hydantoic acid derivatives (4, 5, 6, 7) and substituted allantoic acid derivatives (8) is discussed. Vibratonal spectra of 2-acetyltetronic acid (ATA) (3-acetyloxolane-2,4-dione) were investigated in different aggregate states.Ab initio quantum chemical calculations (3-21G basis set) of 2-formyltetronic acid as analogue of ATA and semi empirical calculation of ATA were carried out. This work presents an exact quantum mechanical treatment of a reactive three-atom collinear model system incorporating nonadiabatic couplings. It was assumed that nonadiabatic transitions are induced by the vibrational motion only. The main findings are: (i) The reaction process can create conditions in which weak nonadiabatic couplings terms ( for which the Massey parameter was round 10) may cause large probabilities (~0.5) for transitions from one electronic surface to the other. In other words, the reaction process is able in certain cases to create a near resonance situation which makes the non-adiabatic transition almost independent of the magnitude of the coupling term. For this to happen the two surfaces need not be proximate, nor need they “almost” cross along a certain line (ii) In cases where the main nonadiabatic transitions take place outside the interaction region one may, at least qualitatively, decouple the reaction process from the nonadiabatic one. Thus, under the conditions specified one may first treat the reactive system on the ground state surface without including the excited interacting surface and then treat the nonadiabatic process independently.  相似文献

The ozonolysis of acetylene was investigated using CCSD(T), CASPT2, and B3LYP-DFT in connection with a 6-311+G(2d,2p) basis set. The reaction is initiated by the formation of a van der Waals complex followed by a [4pi + 2pi] cycloaddition between ozone and acetylene (activation enthalpy DeltaH(a)(298) = 9.6 kcal/mol; experiment, 10.2 kcal/mol), yielding 1,2,3-trioxolene, which rapidly opens to alpha-ketocarbonyl oxide 5. Alternatively, an O atom can be transferred from ozone to acetylene (DeltaH(a)(298) = 15.6 kcal/mol), thus leading to formyl carbene, which can rearrange to oxirene or ketene. The key compound in the ozonolysis of acetylene is 5 because it is the starting point for the isomerization to the corresponding dioxirane 19 (DeltaH(a)(298) = 16.9 kcal/mol), for the cyclization to trioxabicyclo[2.1.0]pentane 10 (DeltaH(a)(298) = 19.5 kcal/mol), for the formation of hydroperoxy ketene 15 (DeltaH(a)(298) = 20.6 kcal/mol), and for the rearrangement to dioxetanone 9 (DeltaH(a)(298) = 23.6 kcal/mol). Compounds 19, 10, 15, and 9 rearrange or decompose with barriers between 13 and 16 kcal/mol to yield as major products formanhydride, glyoxal, formaldehyde, formic acid, and (to a minor extent) glyoxylic acid. Hence, the ozonolysis of acetylene possesses a very complicated reaction mechanism that deserves intensive experimental studies.  相似文献

The structure and stability of different forms of salicylic acid dimer have been examined by Hartree-Fock and density functional theoretic calculations using 6-31G(d,p) and 6-311++g(d,p) basis sets. Vertical excitation energies for the monomer as well as the dimer have been computed using the time-dependent density functional theory using 6-311++G(d,p) basis set. The predicted absorption maxima for the first excited singlet state of salicylic acid monomer and the dimer of the primary form are in reasonable agreement with the experimental result. There is a slight red shift (approximately 6 nm) in the absorption maximum in going from the monomer to the dimer, in accord with the experimental observation. Configuration-interaction calculations including single excitation have been carried out to map the potential-energy profile for the intra- as well as the intermolecular proton transfer in different forms of the dimer. The barrier for proton transfer in the ground state as well as the excited states makes it clear that most of the processes take place in the primary form and largely by intramolecular proton transfer.  相似文献

Reactions of the sulphonium ion of sulphur mustard (SM+1) at the N7, N3 and O6 sites of guanine, N7, N3 and N1 sites of adenine, O2 and N3 sites of cytosine and O2 and O4 sites of thymine were studied theoretically in gas phase and aqueous media employing density functional theory (DFT) and second order Møller–Plesset perturbation (MP2) theory. The B3LYP, B3PW91 and B1B95 functionals of DFT and the 6-31+G* and AUG-cc-pVDZ basis sets were used in the calculations. Basis set superposition error was treated using the counterpoise method by single point energy calculations at the B3LYP/6-31+G* level in gas phase. The present study explains the mechanism of alkylation of the DNA bases and shows that SM+1 would form stable adducts at the endocyclic nitrogen sites of the DNA bases, and at the O6 site of guanine and the O2 site of cytosine. Formation of adducts at the N7 site of guanine and N3 site of adenine are found to be most favored and next most favored respectively, which agrees with experimental observations.  相似文献

Strongly fluorescent 2-carboxymethyl-3,4-dihydro-7-hydroxyisoquinolin-6-ones are formed in high yields when catecholamines are reacted with glyoxylic acid. Formation of the fluorophores has been found to take place in two steps; i. e. via virtually non-fluorescent tetrahydroisoquinoline-1-carboxylic acids, which react to give the fluorophores in a subsequent, rapid reaction with glyoxylic acid. The rates of reaction (pseudo first-order) with glyoxylic acid for 6,7-dihydroxy-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline, 6,7-dihydroxy-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline-1-carboxylic acid, and 6,7-dihydroxy-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline-3- carboxylic acid show that introduction of a carboxyl group at either C-1 or C-3 in a tetrahydroisoquinoline highly facilitates the reaction with glyoxylic acid. This behaviour is discussed in terms of a mechanism involving both intramolecular acid catalysis by the C-1 or C-3-carboxyl groups during dehydration of the carbinolamine intermediate, and facilitation of the prototropic shifts of the resulting Schiff's base by decarboxylation.  相似文献

A series of six L-amino acid hydrochloride salts has been studied by 35/37Cl solid-state NMR spectroscopy (at 11.75 and 21.1 T) and complementary quantum chemical calculations. Analyses of NMR spectra acquired under static and magic-angle-spinning conditions for the six hydrochloride salts, those of aspartic acid, alanine, cysteine, histidine, methionine and threonine, allowed the extraction of information regarding the chlorine electric field gradient (EFG) and chemical shift tensors, including their relative orientation. Both tensors are found to be highly dependent on the local environment, with chlorine-35 quadrupolar coupling constants (CQ) ranging from -7.1 to 4.41 MHz and chemical shift tensor spans ranging from 60 to 100 ppm; the value of CQ for aspartic acid hydrochloride is the largest in magnitude observed to date for an organic hydrochloride salt. Quantum chemical calculations performed on cluster models of the chloride ion environment demonstrated agreement between experiment and theory, reproducing CQ to within 18%. In addition, the accuracy of the calculated values of the NMR parameters as a function of the quality of the input structure was explored. Selected X-ray structures were determined (L-Asp HCl; L-Thr HCl) or re-determined (L-Cys HCl.H2O) to demonstrate the benefits of having accurate crystal structures for calculations. The self-consistent charge field perturbation model was also employed and was found to improve the accuracy of calculated quadrupolar coupling constants, demonstrating the impact of the neighbouring ions on the EFG tensor of the central chloride ion. Taken together, the present work contributes to an improved understanding of the factors influencing 35/37Cl NMR interaction tensors in organic hydrochlorides.  相似文献

Motivated by the necessity to understand the pyrolysis of alkylated amines, unimolecular decomposition of acetamide is investigated herein as a model compound. Standard heats of formation, entropies, and heat capacities, are calculated for all products and transition structures using several accurate theoretical levels. The potential energy surface is mapped out for all possible channels encountered in the pyrolysis of acetamide. The formation of acetamedic acid and 1-aminoethenol and their subsequent decomposition pathways are found to afford the two most energetically favored pathways. However, RRKM analysis shows that the fate of acetamedic acid and 1-aminoethenol at all temperatures and pressures is to reisomerize to the parent acetamide. 1-Aminoethenol, in particular, is predicted to be a long-lived species enabling its participation in bimolecular reactions that lead to the formation of the major experimental products. Results presented herein reflect the importance of bimolecular reactions involving acetamide and 1-aminoethenol in building a robust model for the pyrolysis of N-alkylated amides.  相似文献

The spectrophotometric determination of glyoxylic acid at 520 nm based on formation of the 1,5-diphenyl formazan derivative is revised. The colour can be developed at room temperature if the acid or its sodium salt is pure. The molar absorptivity is improved to 32 250 l mol?1 cm?1. A double pulse technique for the investigation of coupled homogeneous chemical reactions is described; during the first pulse a constant current is used to generate an intermediate and during the second pulse the intermediate remaining in solution is determined by monitoring the I—t response at a controlled potential. The theory is developed and it is shown that a few simple tests of the experimental data allow systems with no chemical reaction, a first order reaction, and a second order reaction to be distinguished.The method has the capabilities of other similar techniques, e.g. cyclic voltammetry, double potential step, rotating ring-disc electrodes, but has particular advantages when the reactive intermediate results from the oxidation or reduction of the base electrolyte or the solvent. The synthesis of α-alkyl mercaptohippuric acid (3a–d), N-benzyloxycarbonyl-α-methylthioglycine (3e) and their methyl esters (5a–d) by the amido-alkylation of mercaptans with α-hydroxyhippuric acid (2a), α-hydroxy-N-benzyloxycarbonylglycine (2b) and their methoxymethyl ester derivatives 4a and 4b is described. Oxidation with m-chloroperbenzoic acid afforded the corresponding sulfoxides and sulfones and treatment with N-bromosuccinimide in methanol or chlorine in carbon tetrachloride solution exchanged the sulfur containing side chain for a methoxy or a chloro group respectively. Hexamethyldisiloxane [HMDSO, (CH3)3-SiOSi-(CH3)3] is an important precursor for SiO2 formation during flame-based silica material synthesis. As a result, HMDSO reactions in flame have been widely investigated experimentally, and many results have indicated that HMDSO decomposition reactions occur very early in this process. In this paper, quantum chemical calculations are performed to identify the initial decomposition of HMDSO and its subsequent reactions using the density functional theory at the level of B3LYP/6-311+G (d, p). Four reaction pathways—(a) Si O bond dissociation of HMDSO, (b) Si C bond dissociation of HMDSO, (c) dissociation and recombination of Si O and Si C bonds, and (d) elimination of a methane molecule from HMDSO—have been examined and identified. From the results, it is found that the barrier of 84.38 kcal/mol and Si O bond dissociation energy of 21.55 kcal/mol are required for the initial decomposition reaction of HMDSO in the first pathway, but the highest free energy barrier (100.69 kcal/mol) is found in the third reaction pathway. By comparing the free energy barriers and reaction rate constants, it is concluded that the most possible initial decomposition reaction of HMDSO is to eliminate the CH3 radical by Si C bond dissociation.  相似文献

Oxime ethers derived from 2-pyridinecarboxaldehyde and glyoxylic acid can be effectively allylated in water with five differently functionalized allylic bromides promoted by indium. When the metal is positioned in close proximity of flanking heteroatomic centers, chelation by In is indeed operative and affects both reactivity and stereochemistry. Quantitative characteristics of the reactivity are obtained in the form of atomic charges and Fukui coefficients.
