The relaxation dynamics of unsubstituted porphyrin (H2P), diprotonated porphyrin (H4P2+), and tetraoxaporphyrin dication (TOxP2+) has been investigated in the femtosecond-nanosecond time domain upon photoexcitation in the Soret band with pulses of femtosecond duration. By probing with spectrally broad femtosecond pulses, we have observed transient absorption spectra at delay times up to 1.5 ns. The kinetic profiles corresponding with the band maxima due to excited-state absorption have been determined for the three species. Four components of the relaxation process are distinguished for H2P: the unresolvably short B --> Qy internal conversion is followed by the Qy --> Qx process, vibrational relaxation, and thermalization in the Qx state with time constant approximately 150 fs, 1.8 ps, and 24.9 ps, respectively. Going from H2P to TOxP2+, two processes are resolved, i.e., B --> Q internal conversion and thermal equilibration in the Q state. The B --> Q time constant has been determined to be 25 ps. The large difference with respect to the B --> Qy time constant of H2P has been related to the increased energy gap between the coupled states, 9370 cm-1 in TOxP2+ vs 6100 cm-1 in H2P. The relaxation dynamics of H4P2+ has a first ultrafast component of approximately 300 fs assigned as internal conversion between the B (or Soret) state and charge-transfer (CT) states of the H4P2+ complex with two trifluoroacetate counterions. The fluorescence spectra of unsubstituted porphyrin (H2P), diprotonated porphyrin (H4P2+), and isoelectronic tetraoxaporphyrin dication (TOxP2+) have been measured in solution at room temperature. The S2-->S0 fluorescence has been observed, much more intense for TOxP2+ than for H4P2+ and H2P. In the TOxP2+ case, the S2-->S0 fluorescence spectrum is remarkably sharp and shows an excellent mirror symmetry with respect to S0-->S2 absorption. On the contrary, the spectra of H4P2+ and H2P are shifted and more extended with respect to the absorption counterparts. The differences have been attributed primarily to the change of the equilibrium geometry upon excitation, larger in H2P and H4P2+ than in TOxP2+ and in the case of H4P2+ to the nonplanar conformation of the macrocycle. Also the S1-->S0 spectra of H2P, H4P2+, and TOxP2+ have been measured and more qualitatively discussed. The S1 and S2 fluorescence decays have been observed for H4P2+ and TOxP2+ exciting with ultrashort pulses. The S2 lifetime of TOxP2+ is of the order of the temporal resolution of our experimental apparatus, whereas that of H4P2+ is shorter. The S2-->S0 quantum yield of TOxP2+ has been estimated to be 0.035, approximately 3 orders of magnitude higher than that of H4P2+. It is proposed on the basis of ab initio model calculations that excited states of the H4P2+(CF3COO-)2 complex with charge-transfer character are responsible of the increased extension of the S2-->S0 spectrum with respect to that of H2P. 相似文献

Structural calculations by means of the density functional method have been performed on tetraoxaporphyrin dication and on isoelectronic diprotonated porphyrin as well as on the sulfur and carbon analogues of porphyrin. A detailed study of the stable conformations of these compounds is reported starting with the most symmetrical conformations and lowering the symmetry along the vibrational coordinates with imaginary frequency. The calculated geometries are related to experimental structures available from X-ray diffraction studies. The Raman spectra of tetraoxaporphyrin dication exciting with micro-Raman instrumentation at 785 nm and of diprotonated porphyrin in near-resonance conditions with the Soret band have been measured. The correlation between frequencies calculated with the DF/B3-LYP/cc-pVDZ procedure for porphyrin, diprotonated porphyrin, and tetraoxaporphyrin dication has allowed for making a vibrational assignment for the latter two systems in excellent agreement with experiment using a single frequency scale factor. 相似文献

Tris(4-carboxylphenyl)-mono(N-methylimidazolyl)-substituted Zn porphyrin was synthesized as a precursor for a water-soluble supramolecular porphyrin dimer. The dimer formation was performed in a NaHCO3 aq solution (pH 8.4) and phosphate buffer solutions (pH 7.4-9.0). The Langmuir–Blodgett method has been used to transfer mixed monolayers of a porphyrin (TMPyP) and a phospholipid (DMPA) from the air|water interface onto optically transparent indium–tin oxide (ITO) electrodes. The surface concentration of porphyrin, Γ, transferred on the ITO surface, has been obtained by integration of the reduction current from the cyclic voltammograms. The experimental Γ values ranged from Γm=5.19×10−11 mol cm−2, and corresponding to a compact monolayer of porphyrin monomers in a plane orientation with respect to the surface, to Γd=8.65×10−11 mol cm−2, and equivalent to the total amount of the porphyrin molecules at the air|water interface under a compression of 35 mN m−1. Prior to the electrochemical experiments, the transmission spectrum was recorded. The surface concentration obtained of the porphyrin is not directly proportional to the transmission of the film, ΔT. This phenomenon is assigned to the dimer formation and, depending on the surface activity of the ITO electrodes, toward porphyrin adsorption. The dimer structure of TMPyP on an intact ITO electrode is altered with respect to that found at the air|water interface. A simple model has been developed to evaluate the contribution of monomer and dimer phases of the porphyrin in the mixed monolayer. Furthermore, spectroscopic measurements with linearly polarized light under oblique incidence have been performed in order to infer the plane orientation of the TMPyP molecules with respect to the ITO surfaces. 相似文献

The synthesis and characterisation of a C6 hydrocarbon linked porphyrin dimer and its zinc complex is described. From fluorescence quantum yields and excited singlet and triplet state lifetimes, recorded for the dimers and the corresponding monomer species, it is suggested that the dimeric porphyrins exist in solution in open and closed conformations. The open conformations retain photophysical properties similar to those of the relevant monomeric species but the closed conformations do not fluoresce. 相似文献

A set of porphyrin-triarylamine hybrids have been synthesized in good yield by Sonogashira palladium-catalyzed cross-coupling reactions between the zinc complex of 5,15-diethynyl-10,20-dimesitylporphyrin and the appropriate iodophenyldiarylamines. The crystal structure of porphyrin 1 shows that the dihedral angle between the acetylene-bonded benzene rings and the porphyrin macrocycle is 20.0 degrees. Such a structural characteristic enables effective electronic perturbations within the molecule. The electronic spectra are red-shifted and display a broad Soret band and an intense Q band relative to those of meso-substituted tetraarylporphyrins. These conjugates display four oxidations and one reduction. All the electrochemical reactions involve one-electron transfer. The first and second oxidations are reversible and can be assigned to the porphyrin-centered reactions. The third and fourth ones, separated by about 270 mV, correspond to the triarylamine units. The comproportionation constant (Kc) is calculated to be 3.67x10(4). The electron coupling between the triarylamine moieties, at a separation of >23 A, is remarkably strong. The electrochemical results and the absorption spectra show that the electronic characteristics of these porphyrins can be significantly modulated by the triarylamine substituents via the conjugated carbon-carbon triple bond. Variations of the substituents on the triarylamines can fine-tune the electronic properties of these molecules. 相似文献

DNA-porphyrin conjugates were designed and synthesized for the preparation of the conformationally controlled porphyrin dimer structures constructed on a d(GCGTATACGC)2. Porphyrin derivatives were introduced to the central TATpA sequence where p represents the phosphoramidate for the attachment of the free-base porphyrin (FbP) and zinc-coordinated porphyrin (ZnP), which allows contact of the two porphyrins in the minor groove. The porphyrin dimers were characterized using CD, UV-vis, steady-state, and time-resolved fluorescence spectroscopies, indicating that the porphyrins form face-to-face conformations. Also the co-facial conformation was confirmed by comparison with spectra of the non-self-complementary duplex containing one porphyrin moiety. Introduction of zinc into porphyrin moiety destabilized the duplex formation. Two diastereomers showed different thermal stabilities and affected the conformations of porphyrin dimers. The temperature-dependent assembly and the conformational change of the porphyrin dimer on the duplex DNA were observed in the UV-vis spectra, indicating that the dynamic movement of the porphyrin dimer occurs on the duplex. The results indicate that the porphyrin dimers of DNA-FbP conjugates are overlapped clockwise and are located in the minor groove of the usual B-form DNA backbone. The interaction and conformation of two porphyrin moieties are controlled by the following three factors: (1) temperature change during and after formation of the duplex porphyrins at lower temperature; (2) diastereochemistry of the phosphoramidates where porphyrins are connected via a linker; and (3) zinc ion coordination that destabilizes the interaction of porphyrins as well duplex formation. 相似文献

A series of lanthanide porphyrin dimers have been synthesized and investigated with IR spectroscopic techniques. The spectra of the porphyrin dimers are compared not only with each other but also with those of their component monomer units. The experimental results exhibit that the IR spectra of the porphyrin dimers are closely related to those of their corresponding monomers. A detailed analysis of the IR spectra between the porphyrin dimers and monomers suggest that the dimer molecules can be treated as regular derivatives of metalloporphyrin monomers despite the symmetries of these two systems being different. The dimerization of the porphyrin rings only result in frequency shifts and intensity changes of the IR spectra. These shifts are attributed to the induced π–π interactions between these two macrocycles. The downshifts of the frequencies observed in Ce(OEP)2 further indicate that the π–π interactions intrinsically decrease the bond strength of the entire molecule. Additionally, only the relative intensities instead of the frequencies of the ethyl vibrations in the region 2800–3000 cm−1 are observed to be sensitive to the types and the positions of the substituent groups. These observations suggest that these ethyl vibrational modes of the OEP moiety can be used as characteristic bands to monitor subtle deformations of the porphyrin rings caused by the substituent groups in the dimer complexes. 相似文献
