In this paper, an age‐structured population model with the form of neutral functional differential equation is studied. We discuss the stability of the positive equilibrium by analyzing the characteristic equation. Local Hopf bifurcation results are also obtained by choosing the mature delay as bifurcation parameter. On the center manifold, the normal form of the Hopf bifurcation is derived, and explicit formulae for determining the criticality of bifurcation are theoretically given. Moreover, the global continuation of Hopf bifurcating periodic solutions is investigated by using the global Hopf bifurcation theory of neutral equations. Finally, some numerical examples are carried out to support the main results.  相似文献

A single-species population model is investigated in this paper. Firstly, we study the existence of Hopf bifurcation at the positive equilibrium. Furthermore, an explicit algorithm for determining the direction of the Hopf bifurcation and stability of the bifurcation periodic solutions are derived by using the normal form and the center manifold theory. The dynamics of a food-limited population model with delay are investigated. We prove that a sequence of Hopf bifurcations occur at the positive equilibrium as the delay increases. An explicit algorithm for determining the direction of the Hopf bifurcation and the stability of the bifurcating periodic solutions is derived, using the theory of normal form and center manifold. Global existence of periodic solutions is established by using a global Hopf bifurcation result due to [J. Wu, Symmetric functional differential equations and neural networks with memory, Trans. A delayed Lotka–Volterra two-species predator–prey system with discrete hunting delay and distributed maturation delay for the predator population described by an integral with a strong delay kernel is considered. By linearizing the system at the positive equilibrium and analyzing the associated characteristic equation, the asymptotic stability of the positive equilibrium is investigated and Hopf bifurcations are demonstrated. It is found that under suitable conditions on the parameters the positive equilibrium is asymptotically stable when the hunting delay is less than a certain critical value and unstable when the hunting delay is greater than this critical value. Meanwhile, according to the Hopf bifurcation theorem for functional differential equations (FDEs), we find that the system can also undergo a Hopf bifurcation of nonconstant periodic solution at the positive equilibrium when the hunting delay crosses through a sequence of critical values. In particular, by applying the normal form theory and the center manifold reduction for FDEs, an explicit algorithm determining the direction of Hopf bifurcations and the stability of bifurcating periodic solutions occurring through Hopf bifurcations is given. Finally, to verify our theoretical predictions, some numerical simulations are also included at the end of this paper.  相似文献

In this paper, the stability and Hopf bifurcation of a delayed viral infection model with logistic growth and saturated immune impairment is studied. It is shown that there exist 3 equilibria. The sufficient conditions for local asymptotic stability of the infection‐free equilibrium and no‐immune equilibrium are given. We also discussed the local stability of positive equilibrium and the existence of Hopf bifurcation. Moreover, the direction and stability of Hopf bifurcation is obtained by using standard form theory and the center manifold theorem. Finally, numerical simulations are performed to verify the theoretical conclusions.  相似文献

研究了一类具有时滞的云杉蚜虫种群阶段结构模型的动力学行为.首先,讨论了模型正平衡点的存在唯一性,并分析了该平衡点的局部稳定性和出现Hopf分岔的充分条件;其次,利用中心流形定理和正规形理论,讨论了分岔周期解的稳定性及方向;最后,通过数值模拟验证了相关结论的正确性.该文所得结论具有广泛的实际应用价值.  相似文献

A predator-prey system with disease in the prey is considered. Assume that the incidence rate is nonlinear, we analyse the boundedness of solutions and local stability of equilibria, by using bifurcation methods and techniques, we study Bogdanov-Takens bifurcation near a boundary equilibrium, and obtain a saddle-node bifurcation curve, a Hopf bifurcation curve and a homoclinic bifurcation curve. The Hopf bifurcation and generalized Hopf bifurcation near the positive equilibrium is analyzed, one or two limit cycles is also discussed.  相似文献

The Hopf bifurcation of an equilibrium in dynamical systems consisting of n equations with a single time delay and translational symmetry is investigated. The Jacobian belonging to the equilibrium of the corresponding delay-differential equations always has a zero eigenvalue due to the translational symmetry. This eigenvalue does not depend on the system parameters, while other characteristic roots may satisfy the conditions of Hopf bifurcation. An algorithm for this Hopf bifurcation calculation (including the center-manifold reduction) is presented. The closed form results are demonstrated for a simple model of cars following each other along a ring.  相似文献

In this paper, the diffusion is introduced to an immunosuppressive infection model with delayed antiviral immune response. The direction and stability of Hopf bifurcation are effected by time delay, in the absence of which the positive equilibrium is locally asymptotically stable by means of analyzing eigenvalue spectrum; however, when the time delay increases beyond a threshold, the positive equilibrium loses its stability via the Hopf bifurcation. The stability and direction of the Hopf bifurcation is investigated with the norm form and the center manifold theory. The stability of the Hopf bifurcation leads to the emergence of spatial spiral patterns. Numerical calculations are performed to illustrate our theoretical results. An SMIB model in the power systems,especially that concering the effects of hard limits onbifurcations,chaos and stability is studied.Parameter conditions for bifurcations and chaos in the absence ofhard limits are compared with those in the presence of hard limits.It has been proved that hard limits can affectsystem stability.We find that (1) hard limits can change unstable equilibrium into stable one;(2) hard limits canchange stability of limit cycles induced by Hopf bifurcation;(3) persistence of hard limits can stabilize divergenttrajectory to a stable equilibrium or limit cycle;(4) Hopf bifurcation occurs before SN bifurcation,so the systemcollapse can be controlled before Hopf bifurcation occurs.We also find that suitable limiting values of hard limitscan enlarge the feasibility region.These results are based on theoretical analysis and numerical simulations,such as condition for SNB and Hopf bifurcation,bifurcation diagram,trajectories,Lyapunov exponent,Floquetmultipliers,dimension of attractor and so on.  相似文献

In this paper, an HIV dynamics model with the proliferation of CD4 T cells is proposed. The authors consider nonnegativity, boundedness, global asymptotic stability of the solutions and bifurcation properties of the steady states. It is proved that the virus is cleared from the host under some conditions if the basic reproduction number R_0 is less than unity. Meanwhile, the model exhibits the phenomenon of backward bifurcation. We also obtain one equilibrium is semi-stable by using center manifold theory. It is proved that the endemic equilibrium is globally asymptotically stable under some conditions if R_0 is greater than unity. It also is proved that the model undergoes Hopf bifurcation from the endemic equilibrium under some conditions. It is novelty that the model exhibits two famous bifurcations,backward bifurcation and Hopf bifurcation. The model is extended to incorporate the specific Cytotoxic T Lymphocytes(CTLs) immune response. Stabilities of equilibria and Hopf bifurcation are considered accordingly. In addition, some numerical simulations for justifying the theoretical analysis results are also given in paper.  相似文献

The global dynamics of an SIRS model with a nonlinear incidence rate is investigated. We establish a threshold for a disease to be extinct or endemic, analyze the existence and asymptotic stability of equilibria, and verify the existence of bistable states, i.e., a stable disease free equilibrium and a stable endemic equilibrium or a stable limit cycle. In particular, we find that the model admits stability switches as a parameter changes. We also investigate the backward bifurcation, the Hopf bifurcation and Bogdanov–Takens bifurcation and obtain the Hopf bifurcation criteria and Bogdanov–Takens bifurcation curves, which are important for making strategies for controlling a disease.  相似文献
