This paper evaluates variants of a simulated annealing algorithm which solve the total cost minimization problem in activity networks in the case that discrete time-cost execution modes are allowed on the project activities. This problem is a special case of the well known discrete time-cost trade-off problem (DTCTP). Based on a sample of randomly generated activity networks, formal tests of statistical significance are utilized to test both the quality of solutions and the time efficiency of algorithms versus problem factors. A procedure issued from the extreme values statistics is also applied on problem instances in order to determine, on the one hand, the confidence interval estimate of the optimum solution for each algorithm and, on the other hand, when to stop the running of an algorithm.  相似文献

In this paper, a bicriteria solid transportation problem with stochastic parameters is investigated. Three mathematical models are constructed for the problem, including expected value goal programming model, chance-constrained goal programming model and dependent-chance goal programming model. A hybrid algorithm is also designed based on the random simulation algorithm and tabu search algorithm to solve the models. At last, some numerical experiments are presented to show the performance of models and algorithm.  相似文献

We study a vendor selection problem in which the buyer allocates an order quantity for an item among a set of suppliers such that the required aggregate quality, service, and lead time requirements are achieved at minimum cost. Some or all of these characteristics can be stochastic and hence, we treat the aggregate quality and service as uncertain. We develop a class of special chance-constrained programming models and a genetic algorithm is designed for the vendor selection problem. The solution procedure is tested on randomly generated problems and our computational experience is reported. The results demonstrate that the suggested approach could provide managers a promising way for studying the stochastic vendor selection problem. The time-cost trade-off problem is a specific type of the project scheduling problem which studies how to modify project activities so as to achieve the trade-off between the completion time and the project cost. In real projects, the trade-off between the project cost and the completion time, and the uncertainty of the environment are both considerable aspects for managers. In this paper, three new fuzzy time-cost trade-off models are proposed, in which credibility theory is applied to describe the uncertainty of activity duration times. A searching method by integrating fuzzy simulation and genetic algorithm is produced to search the quasi-optimal schedules under some decision-making criteria. The purpose of the paper is to reveal how to obtain the optimal balance of the completion time and the project cost in fuzzy environments.  相似文献

We consider a dynamic planning problem for paratransit transportation. The focus is on a decision to take one day ahead: which requests to serve with own vehicles, and which requests to subcontract to taxis? We call this problem the day-ahead paratransit planning problem. The developed model is a non-standard two-stage integer recourse model. Both stages consist of two consecutive optimization problems: the clustering of requests into routes, and the assignment of these routes to vehicles. To solve this model, a genetic algorithm approach is used. Computational results are presented for randomly generated data sets.  相似文献

This paper proposes a novel approach for time-cost trade-off analysis of a project network in fuzzy environments. Different from the results of previous studies, in this paper the membership function of the fuzzy minimum total crash cost is constructed based on Zadeh’s extension principle and fuzzy solutions are provided. A pair of two-level mathematical programs parameterized by possibility level α is formulated to calculate the lower and upper bounds of the fuzzy minimum total crash cost at α. By enumerating different values of α, the membership function of the fuzzy minimum total crash cost is constructed, and the corresponding optimal activity time for each activity is also obtained at the same time. An example of time-cost trade-off problem with several fuzzy parameters is solved successfully to demonstrate the validity of the proposed approach. Since the minimum total crash cost is expressed by a membership function rather than by a crisp value, the fuzziness of parameters is conserved completely, and more information is provided for time-cost trade-off analysis in project management. The proposed approach also can be applied to time-cost trade-off problems with other characteristics.  相似文献

In this article a stochastic location-routing problem is defined and cast as a two-stage model. In a first stage the set of plants and a family of routes are determined; in a second stage a recourse action is applied to adapt these routes to the actual set of customers to visit, once they are known. A two-phase heuristic is developed. An initial feasible solution is built by solving a sequence of subproblems, and an improvement phase is then applied. A lower bound based on bounding separately different parts of the cost of any feasible solution is also developed. Computational results are reported.  相似文献

This article introduces a new exact algorithm for the capacitated vehicle routing problem with stochastic demands (CVRPSD). The CVRPSD can be formulated as a set partitioning problem and it is shown that the associated column generation subproblem can be solved using a dynamic programming scheme. We consider the edge-partition problem, which is a graph theoretic problem arising in the design of Synchronous Optical Networks. The deterministic edge-partition problem considers an undirected graph with weighted edges, and simultaneously assigns nodes and edges to subgraphs such that each edge appears in exactly one subgraph, and such that no edge is assigned to a subgraph unless both of its incident nodes are also assigned to that subgraph. Additionally, there are limitations on the number of nodes and on the sum of edge weights that can be assigned to each subgraph. In this paper, we consider a stochastic version of the edge-partition problem in which we assign nodes to subgraphs in a first stage, realize a set of edge weights from a finite set of alternatives, and then assign edges to subgraphs. We first prescribe a two-stage cutting plane approach with integer variables in both stages, and examine computational difficulties associated with the proposed cutting planes. As an alternative, we prescribe a hybrid integer programming/constraint programming algorithm capable of solving a suite of test instances within practical computational limits.  相似文献

Resource portfolio planning optimization is crucial to high-tech manufacturing industries. One of the most important characteristics of such a problem is intensive investment and risk in demands. In this study, a nonlinear stochastic optimization model is developed to maximize the expected profit under demand uncertainty. For solution efficiency, a stochastic programming-based genetic algorithm (SPGA) is proposed to determine a profitable capacity planning and task allocation plan. The algorithm improves a conventional two-stage stochastic programming by integrating a genetic algorithm into a stochastic sampling procedure to solve this large-scale nonlinear stochastic optimization on a real-time basis. Finally, the tradeoff between profits and risks is evaluated under different settings of algorithmic and hedging parameters. Experimental results have shown that the proposed algorithm can solve the problem efficiently.  相似文献

The sell or hold problem (SHP) is to sell k out of n indivisible assets over two stages, with known first-stage prices and random second-stage prices, to maximize the total expected revenue. We show that SHP is NP-hard when the second-stage prices are realized as a finite set of scenarios. We show that SHP is polynomially solvable when the number of scenarios in the second stage is constant. A max{1/2,k/n}-approximation algorithm is presented for the scenario-based SHP.  相似文献

In this paper, we develop a novel stochastic multi-objective multi-mode transportation model for hub covering location problem under uncertainty. The transportation time between each pair of nodes is an uncertain parameter and also is influenced by a risk factor in the network. We extend the traditional comprehensive hub location problem by considering two new objective functions. So, our multi-objective model includes (i) minimization of total current investment costs and (ii) minimization of maximum transportation time between each origin–destination pair in the network. Besides, a novel multi-objective imperialist competitive algorithm (MOICA) is proposed to obtain the Pareto-optimal solutions of the problem. The performance of the proposed solution algorithm is compared with two well-known meta-heuristics, namely, non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm (NSGA-II) and Pareto archive evolution strategy (PAES). Computational results show that MOICA outperforms the other meta-heuristics.  相似文献

In this paper, it is considered for a class of stochastic linear complementarity problems (SLCPs) with finitely many elements. A smoothing Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm is proposed for solving the SLCP. Under suitable conditions, the global convergence and local quadratic convergence of the proposed algorithm is given. Some numerical results are reported in this paper, which confirms the good theoretical properties of the proposed algorithm.  相似文献

This paper addresses classes of assembled printed circuit boards, which faces certain kinds of errors during its process of manufacturing. Occurrence of errors may lead the manufacturer to be in loss. The encountered problem has two objective functions, one is fractional and the other is a non-linear objective. The manufacturers are confined to maximize the fractional objective and to minimize the non-linear objective subject to stochastic and non-stochastic environment. This problem is decomposed into two problems. A solution approach to this model has been developed in this paper. Results of some test problems are provided.  相似文献

In this paper, we study a single-sink transportation problem in which the production capacity of the suppliers and the demand of the single customer are stochastic. Shipments are performed by capacitated vehicles, which have to be booked in advance, before the realization of the production capacity and the demand. Once the production capacity and the demand are revealed, there is an option to cancel some of the booked vehicles against a cancellation fee; if the quantity shipped from the suppliers using the booked vehicles is not enough to satisfy the demand, the residual quantity is purchased from an external company. The problem is to determine the number of vehicles to book in order to minimize the total cost. We formulate a two-stage and a multistage stochastic mixed integer linear programming models to solve this problem and test them on a real case provided by Italcementi, the primary Italian cement producer and the fifth largest cement producer in the world. We test the influence of different scenario-tree structures on the solutions of the problem, as well as sensitivity of the results with respect to the cancellation fee.  相似文献

This paper addresses a multi-stage stochastic integer programming formulation of the uncapacitated lot-sizing problem under uncertainty. We show that the classical (ℓ,S) inequalities for the deterministic lot-sizing polytope are also valid for the stochastic lot-sizing polytope. We then extend the (ℓ,S) inequalities to a general class of valid inequalities, called the inequalities, and we establish necessary and sufficient conditions which guarantee that the inequalities are facet-defining. A separation heuristic for inequalities is developed and incorporated into a branch-and-cut algorithm. A computational study verifies the usefulness of the inequalities as cuts. By uncertain programming we mean the optimization theory in generally uncertain (random, fuzzy, fuzzy random, grey, etc.) environments. Three broad classes of uncertain programming are expected value models and chance-constrained programming as well as dependent-chance programming. In order to solve general uncertain programming models, a simulation-based genetic algorithm is also documented.
