A study of the kinetic salt effects on the oxidation of Ru(NH3)5pz2+ (Pirazinepentaammineruthenium (II)) with S2O82− (Peroxodisulphate) was carried out. The components of the experimental rate constant, kobs, were separated, and the true (unimolecular) electron transfer rate constant, ket, is (approximately) obtained. An analysis of the main parameters controlling the variations of ket, the free energies of reaction and reorganization, is made. Both parameters show a compensating behavior, so there are small variations of ket and kobs when salt concentrations change. © 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. The electron transfer reaction between [Ru(NH3)5pz]2+ and [Co(C2O4)3]3? was studied in the presence of monomers and aggregates of bile salts (sodium deoxycholate, sodium taurodeoxycholate, and sodium glycocholate) at 298.2 ± 0.1 K. The results show a decreasing rate constant with the successive addition of bile salts. To rationalize the trends of the reaction rate on the [bile salts], two models were used. One of them takes into account the aggregation feature by considering a stepwise self‐association between monomers, whereas the other assumes the formation of a critical micellar concentration. Binding constants between [Ru(NH3)5pz]2+ species and deoxycholate or taurodeoxycholate aggregates were higher than that for glycocholate aggregates. These results are consistent with the way in which the monomers are added to form the bile anion aggregates.  相似文献

The electronic structure and spectra of [Ru(NH3)5pyz]2+ and [(NH3)5Ru-pyz-Ru(NH3)5]4+ are calculated by the INDO (CINDO-E/S) method. The kinetics of replacement of H2O by [Ru(NH3)pz]2+ (pz = pyrazine) in [Fe(CN)5H2O]3? have been studied in various concentrated electrolyte solutions and in various water–cosolvent mixtures, at 298 K. Salt and cosolvent effects can be rationalized taking into account specific medium effects on both the encounter complex formation process and the ligand‐substitution process, once the encounter complex is formed. These effects in water–cosolvent mixtures depend on the solvation of the reactants by the components of the mixture, as well as on the solvent–solvent interactions in these mixtures. Salt effects seem to be related to a primary salt effect as well as to the effect of the cations on the electronic density on the iron complex. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The preparation of trans-[Co(NH3)4(CH3NH2)Br]2+ and trans-[Co(NH3)4(CH3NH2)-(NO3)]2+ complexes is described. The UV-VIS spectra of the complexes indicate a decrease of the ligand field compared to the parent pentaammines. Infrared spectra match with the pattern of the corresponding pentaammines. The catalyzed (by Hg2+) aquation of the trans-bromomethylamine complex go under retention of the stereochemical configuration. The base hydrolysis (studied at 25°C) products show trans to cis rearrangement for both complexes. 1H NMR spectroscopy is used for identification of the stereochemical configuration of the compounds.  相似文献

The structures of orthorhombic bis[pentaammineaquacobalt(III)] tetra‐μ2‐fluorido‐tetradecafluoridotrizirconium(IV) hexahydrate (space group Ibam), [Co(NH3)5(H2O)]2[Zr3F18]·6H2O, (I), and bis[hexaamminecobalt(III)] tetra‐μ2‐fluorido‐tetradecafluoridotrizirconium(IV) hexahydrate (space group Pnna), [Co(NH3)6]2[Zr3F18]·6H2O, (II), consist of complex [Co(NH3)x(H2O)y]3+ cations with either m [in (I)] or and 2 [in (II)] symmetry, [Zr3F18]6− anionic chains located on sites with 222 [in (I)] or 2 [in (II)] symmetry, and water molecules.  相似文献

The compound [NH4(NH3)4][Co(C2B9H11)2] · 2 NH3 ( 1 ) was prepared by the reaction of Na[Co(C2B9H11)2] with a proton‐charged ion‐exchange resin in liquid ammonia. The ammoniate 1 was characterized by low temperature single‐crystal X‐ray structure analysis. The anionic part of the structure consists of [Co(C2B9H11)2] complexes, which are connected via C‐H···H‐B dihydrogen bonds. Furthermore, 1 contains an infinite equation/tex2gif-stack-2.gif[{NH4(NH3)4}+(μ‐NH3)2] cationic chain, which is formed by [NH4(NH3)4]+ ions linked by two ammonia molecules. The N‐H···N hydrogen bonds range from 1.92 to 2.71Å (DHA = Donor···Acceptor angles: 136‐176°). Additional N‐H···H‐B dihydrogen bonds are observed (H···H: 2.3‐2.4Å).  相似文献

Polymerization reactions of [Co(NH3)5(H2O)][CoX(CN)5] and cis-[Co(NH3)4 (H2O)2][CoX(CN)5] (X = Cl, Br, I, NO2 or N3] have been studied. The compounds undergo aging reactions in the solid state or in solution induced by the ligand X involving solvolytic processes affording polymeric materials with μ-cyano bridges. A mechanistic explanation of these reactions is given and a comparison between both series of compounds together with the parent compound [Co(NH3)6][Co(CN)6] is discussed.  相似文献

From the reaction of uranium hexafluoride UF6 with dry liquid ammonia, the [UF7(NH3)]3? anion and the [UF4(NH3)4] molecule were isolated and identified for the first time. They are found in signal‐green crystals of trisammonium monoammine heptafluorouranate(IV) ammonia (1:1; [NH4]3[UF7(NH3)] ? NH3) and emerald‐green crystals of tetraammine tetrafluorouranium(IV) ammonia (1:1; [UF4(NH3)4] ? NH3). [NH4]3[UF7(NH3)] ? NH3 features discrete [UF7(NH3)]3? anions with a coordination geometry similar to a bicapped trigonal prism, hitherto unknown for UIV compounds. The emerald‐green [UF4(NH3)4] ? NH3 contains discrete tetraammine tetrafluorouranium(IV) [UF4(NH3)4] molecules. [UF4(NH3)4] ? NH3 is not stable at room temperature and forms pastel‐green [UF4(NH3)4] as a powder that is surprisingly stable up to 147 °C. The compounds are the first structurally characterized ammonia complexes of uranium fluorides.  相似文献

From extraction measurements, the individual extraction constant of the hexamminecobalt (III) cation, [Co(NH3)6]3+, in water-nitrobenzene system has been determined . Further, using known thermodynamic parameters and general relations, the stability constant of the complex [Co(NH3)6]3+ in nitrobenzene saturated with water was evaluated for 25 °C in the form log nb{[Co(NH3)6]3+}=54.1.  相似文献

Pyrazolat and Tetrazolat as Bridging Ligands in [Pt(pz)2]3, [Pt(pz)2], and [Pt(tz)2] Crystal Structure of [Pt(pz)2]3 . [Pt(pz)2(Hpz)2]2 (Hpz = pyrazole) suspended in mesitylene decomposes at 185°C in a sealed tube to [Pt(pz)2]3 and [Pt(pz)2]. The reaction of K2PtCl4 with K(pz) under hydrothermal conditions at 150°C yields [Pt(pz)2H2O]. [Pt(tz)2 H2O] (Htz = tetrazole) is obtained at 25°C from K2PtCl4 and Li(tz) in water. [Pt(pz)2]3 crystallizes in the tetragonal space group I41/a with a = 1694.9 pm, c = 3127.5 pm and Z = 16. It forms a ring structure with the symmetry D3h. In the structure the Pt atoms are each bridged by two pyrazolato ligands. Short but nonbonding Pt? Pt distances range from 303.4 pm to 306.7 pm. The average Pt? N distance is 201 pm.  相似文献

The effect of the ion-pairing of Co(III) complexes with p-sulfonatothiacalix[4]arene (STCA) on Fe(II)–Co(III) electron transfer rate was evaluated from the analysis and comparison of kinetic data in double Co(III)–Fe(II) and triple Co(III)–Fe(II)—STCA systems at various concentration conditions. Complexes [Co(en)3]3+(1), [Co(en)2ox]+(2), [Co(dipy)3]3+ (3), [Co(His)2]+(4) and [Fe(CN)6]4− were chosen as Co(III) and Fe(II) compounds. The effect of STCA was found to correlate with the association mode. The outer-sphere association with STCA was found to exhibit the insignificant effect on Fe(II)–Co(III) electron transfer k et constants for complexes 3 and 4 with bulky and rigid chelate rings, while more sufficient inclusion of flexible ethylendiaminate rings of 1 and 2 into the cavity of STCA results in the unusual increase of k et.  相似文献

Polynuclear Cobalt Complexes. II. Preparation and Structure of [(tren) (NH3)Co(O2)Co(NH3) (tren)](SCN)4 · 2H2O The title compound is obtained on oxygenation of [Co(tren)(H2O)2]2+ in 6M aqueous ammonia or by ligand exchange starting from [(NH3)5Co(O2)Co(NH3)5]-(NO3)4. An X-ray structure determination was made. The substance forms monoclinic crystals, space group P21/c, lattice constants a=10,135, b=8,473, c=19,484 Å, β=108,58°, with two formula units in the cell. The final R is 0,066. The binuclear cation has a center of symmetry, so the Co? O? O? Co unit is planar; the Co? O? O angle is 111,5°. The tertiary nitrogen atoms of both chelate groups are cis to the O2 bridge, as found in doubly bridged [(tren)Co(O2,OH)Co(tren)](ClO4)3 · 3H2O. On acidification in solution, the singly bridged cation [(tren) (NH3)CoO2Co(NH3)(tren)]4+ (a) loses the bound O2 completely. But unlike the doubly bridged cation b , the rate of dissociation of a is independent of pH (Fig. 5). At higher pH (8–10) bridging a→b (Fig. 2) occurs. Both reactions must have the same rate determining step, the first order rate constants being of the order of 2 · 10?3 s?1 (25°, 0,35M KCl).  相似文献

The kinetics of substitution of H2O by Ru(NH3)5pz2+ (pz = pyrazine) in Fe(CN)5H2O3? have been studied in micellar aqueous solutions of sodium dodecylsulfate (SDS). Experimental results are discussed by using an approach based on the transition‐state theory. This approach is better than others based on the pseudophase model, which can also be used, because it is able to give a clear meaning to the parameters of the model. Trends in the observed reactivity are explained by a change in the degree of association of one of the reactants to the micelles (Ru(NH3)5pz2+ in the present work). This association is governed by an equilibrium constant that depends on the electrostatic potential at the surface of the micelles. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The reactions of Fe(CN)5dpa3? and Ru(NH3)5dpa2+ (dpa = 4,4′-dipyridylamine) with Co(edta)? have been investigated kinetically. For Fe(CN)5dpa3? complex, a linear relationship was observed between the pseudo-First-order rate constants and the concentrations of Co(edta) which leads to a specific rate 0.876 ± 0.006 M?1S?1 at T = 25°C., μ = 0.10 M and pH = 8.0. For the Ru(NH3)5dpa2+ system, the plots kobs vs [Co(edta)?] become nonlinear at concentrations of Co(edta) greater than 0.01 M and the reaction is interpreted on the basis of a mechanism involving the formation of an ion pair between Ru(NH3)5dpa2+ and Co(edta)? followed by electron transfer from Ru(II) to Co(III). The nonlinear least squares fit of the kinetic results shows that Qip = 10.6 ± 0.7 M?1 and ket = 93.9 ± 0.7 s?1 at pH = 8.0,μ = 0.10 M and T = 25°C.  相似文献

Synthesis and Crystal Structures of NH4[Si(NH3)F5] and [Si(NH3)2F4] Single crystals of NH4[Si(NH3)F5] and [Si(NH3)2F4] are obtained by reaction of silicon powder with NH4HF2 in sealed Monel ampoules at 400°C. NH4[Si(NH3)F5] crystallizes with the tetragonal space group P4/n (no. 85) with a = 614.91(7) pm, c = 721.01(8) pm, Z = 2. Characteristic for the structure is the anionic octahedron [Si(NH3)F5]?. Si(NH3)2F4 crystallizes with the monoclinic space group P21/c (no. 14) with a = 506.9(1) pm, b = 728.0(1) pm, c = 675.9(1), β = 93,21(2)°, Z = 2. Trans-[Si(NH3)2F4] molecules are characteristic for this structure.  相似文献

AlCl3 · 3NH3 — a Compound with the Crystal Structure of a Tetraammine Dichloro Aluminium-Diammine Tetrachloro Aluminate: [AlCl2(NH3)4]+[AlCl4(NH3)2]? . AlCl3 · 3 NH3 ? [AlCl2(NH3)4]+ [AlCl4(NH3)2]? forms during the reaction of two mole NH3 with AlCl3(NH3) at T ≥ 200°C. Repeated heating and cooling within 48 h between 200°C and 250°C gives a homogeneous product with total uptake of the necessary amount of NH3. Slow sublimation in a vacuum line apparatus at 200°C gives crystals of the triammoniate sufficient for a X-ray structure determination: The compound contains elongated [AlCl2(NH3)4]+ octahedra and compressed [AlCl4(NH3)2]? octahedra. Besides ionic bonding hydrogen bridge bonds with 3.369 Å ? d(N—H … Cl) ? 3.589 Å stabilize the atomic arrangement.  相似文献

Summary Rate constants are reported for mercury(II)-catalysed aquation of thetrans-[Rh(en)2Cl2]+, [Cr(NH3)5Cl]2+, andcis-[Cr(NH3)4(OH2)Cl]2+ cations in water and in methanol-, ethanol-, and acetonitrile-water solvent mixtures. In the case oftrans-[Rh(en)2Cl2]+, the dependence of rate constants on mercury(II) concentration indicates reaction through a binuclear (Rh-Cl-Hg bridged) intermediate. The dependence of the equilibrium constant for the formation of this intermediate and of its rate constant for dissociation (loss of HgCl+) on solvent composition have been established. With the aid of measured solubilities, published ancillary thermodynamic data, and suitable extrathermodynamic assumptions, the observed reactivity trends for these mercury(II)-catalysed aquations are dissected into initial state and transition state components. The reactivity patterns for these three complexes are compared with those for mercury(II)-catalysed aquation of other chloro-transition metal complexes, particularlycis-[Rh(en)2Cl2]+, [Co(NH3)5Cl]2+, and [ReCl6]2–.  相似文献

Preparation, Crystal Structure, Thermal Decomposition, and Vibrational Spectra of [Co(NH3)6]2[Be4O(CO3)6] · 10 H2O [Co(NH3)6]2[Be4O(CO3)6] · 10 H2O is a suitable compound for the quantitative determination of beryllium. It can be obtained by reaction of aqueous solutions of carbonatoberyllate with [Co(NH3)6]Cl3. The crystal structure (trigonal‐rhombohedral, R3c (Nr. 161), a = 1071,6(1) pm, c = 5549,4(9) pm, VEZ = 5519(1) · 106 pm3, Z = 6, R1(I ≥ 2σ(I)) = 0,037, wR2(I ≥ 2σ(I)) = 0,094) contains [Co(NH3)6]3+‐ and [Be4O(CO3)6]6–‐ions, which are directly hydrogen bonded as well as with water molecules. The complex cations and anions occupy the positions of a distorted anti‐CaF2‐type. The thermal decomposition, IR and Raman spectra are presented and discussed.  相似文献
