This work continues the studies on the diffusion of a substance over a water surface, in particular, the effect of nonuniformity in the initial distribution of a substance on the dynamic characteristics of a pollution spot has been investigated. A pollution spot is understood to mean a water surface area in which the concentration of a diffusing substance is higher than a specified threshold value. The analytical solutions of boundary-value problems have been found by the Fourier method in special functions for the equation of diffusion in unlimited areas. Asymptotic and numerical methods are used for their analysis. It has been concluded that the initial distribution of a polluting substance over the surface has a slight effect not only on the lifetime of a pollution spot but also on its maximum radius at the same volume of pollution. The maximum size of a pollution spot and the time moment at which this size is attained have been found in the case of a uniform substance distribution.  相似文献

We study classical solutions of boundary value problems for a nonstrictly hyperbolic third-order equation. The equation is posed in a half-strip and a quadrant of the plane of two independent variables. The Cauchy conditions are posed on the lower boundary of the domain, and the Dirichlet conditions are posed on the lateral boundaries. By using the method of characteristics, we find the analytic form of the solution of considered problems. The uniqueness of the solutions is proved.  相似文献

Having analyzed the stationary processes of admixture transfer in two-phase regular structures with taking into account periodical character of advective phenomena, we propose a method of constructing exact analytic solutions for such class of boundary value problems. This technique is based on the application of integral transformations individually for each contacting domain. The relation between these corresponding integral transformations is obtained from the nonideal boundary conditions. We have obtained the analytic solution of a diffusion problem for a two-phase layer of a regular structure with advective mass transfer mechanism in one of its phases. The expressions describing admixture flow through a certain body surface are derived, mass flows through the interface is investigated. Having analyzed the concentration of migrating particles in the structural elements of the body and the admixture flow through the given body surface, we present results graphically. The conditions of the existence of a limit passage from the contact boundary value problem of advective diffusion in regular structures to the continual model of advective two-way heterodiffusion are determined. The steady flows of a non-Newtonian fluid are considered when the slippage between the plate and the fluid is valid. The constitutive equations of the fluid are modeled by those for an Oldroyd 6-constant fluid. They give rise to non-linear boundary value problems. The analytical solutions are obtained using powerful, easy-to-use analytic technique for non-linear problems, the homotopy analysis method. It is shown that solutions exist for all values of non-Newtonian parameters. The solutions valid for no-slip condition for all values of non-Newtonian parameters can be derived as the special cases of the present analysis. Finally, graphs are plotted and critical assessment is made for the cases of slip and no-slip conditions.  相似文献

In this paper, we describe how to analyze boundary value problems for third-order nonlinear ordinary differential equations over an infinite interval. Several physical problems of interest are governed by such systems. The seminumerical schemes described here offer some advantages over solutions obtained by using traditional methods such as finite differences, shooting method, etc. These techniques also reveal the analytic structure of the solution function. For illustrative purposes, several physical problems, mainly drawn from fluid mechanics, are considered; they clearly demonstrate the efficiency of the techniques presented here.  相似文献

In this paper, we obtain accurate analytic free vibration solutions of rectangular thin cantilever plates by using an up-to-date rational superposition method in the symplectic space. To the authors’ knowledge, these solutions were not available in the literature due to the difficulty in handling the complex mathematical model. The Hamiltonian system-based governing equation is first constructed. The eigenvalue problems of two fundamental vibration problems are formed for a cantilever plate. By symplectic expansion, the fundamental solutions are obtained. Superposition of these solutions are equal to that of the cantilever plate, which yields the analytic frequency equation. The mode shapes are then readily obtained. The developed method yields the benchmark analytic solutions with fast convergence and satisfactory accuracy by rigorous derivation, without assuming any trial solutions; thus, it is regarded as rational, and its applicability to more boundary value problems of partial differential equations represented by plates’ vibration, bending and buckling may be expected.  相似文献

The nonlinear integro-differential system associated with the penetration of a magnetic field into a substance is considered. The asymptotic behavior as t → ∞ of solutions for two initial-boundary value problems are studied. The problem with non-zero conditions on one side of the lateral boundary is discussed. The problem with homogeneous boundary conditions is studied too. The rates of convergence are given. The analytic approach proposed by Sekerzh-Zenkovich [On the theory of standing waves of finite amplitude, Dokl. Akad. Nauk USSR 58 (1947) 551–554] is developed in the present study of standing waves. Generalizing the solution method, a set of standing wave problems are solved, namely, the infinite- and finite-depth surface standing waves and the infinite- and finite-depth internal standing waves. Two-dimensional wave motion of an irrotational incompressible fluid in a rectangular domain is considered to study weakly nonlinear surface and internal standing waves. The Lagrangian formulation of the problems is used and the fifth-order perturbation solutions are determined. Since most of the approximate analytic solutions to these problems were obtained using the Eulerian formulation, the comparison of the results, as an example the analytic frequency–amplitude dependences, obtained in Lagrangian variables with the corresponding ones known in Eulerian variables has been carried out in the paper. The analytic frequency–amplitude dependences are in complete agreement with previous results known in the literature. Computer algebra procedures were written for the construction of asymptotic solutions. The application of the model constructed in Lagrangian formulation to a set of different problems shows the ability to correctly reproduce and predict a wide range of situations with different characteristics and some advantages of Lagrangian particle models (for example, the bigger radius of convergence of an expansion parameter than in Eulerian variables, simplification of the boundary conditions, parametrization of a free boundary).  相似文献

A functional analytic technique was recently presented for finding discrete equivalent counterparts of initial value problems of ODEs and obtaining their real analytic solutions. In the current paper, this technique is extended to boundary value problems of ODEs and to the complex solutions of ODEs. In order to demonstrate this technique, it is applied to the classic Blasius problem of fluid mechanics. Apart from its real solution, its complex solution is also studied. The obtained results indicate that the complex Blasius function exhibits an oscillatory behavior and strengthen a conjecture regarding its singularities in the complex plane.  相似文献

It is of significance to explore benchmark analytic free vibration solutions of rectangular thick plates without two parallel simply supported edges, because the classic analytic methods are usually invalid for the problems of this category. The main challenge is to find the solutions meeting both the governing higher order partial differential equations (PDEs) and boundary conditions of the plates, i.e., to analytically solve associated complex boundary value problems of PDEs. In this letter, we extend a novel symplectic superposition method to the free vibration problems of clamped rectangular thick plates, with the analytic frequency solutions obtained by a brief set of equations. It is found that the analytic solutions of clamped plates can simply reduce to their variants with any combinations of clamped and simply supported edges via an easy relaxation of boundary conditions. The new results yielded in this letter are not only useful for rapid design of thick plate structures but also provide reliable benchmarks for checking the validity of other new solution methods.  相似文献

Mixed boundary value problems are characterised by a combination of Dirichlet and Neumann conditions along at least one boundary. Historically, only a very small subset of these problems could be solved using analytic series methods (“analytic” is taken here to mean a series whose terms are analytic in the complex plane). In the past, series solutions were obtained by using an appropriate choice of axes, or a co-ordinate transformation to suitable axes where the boundaries are parallel to the abscissa and the boundary conditions are separated into pure Dirichlet or Neumann form. In this paper, I will consider the more general problem where the mixed boundary conditions cannot be resolved by a co-ordinate transformation. That is, a Dirichlet condition applies on part of the boundary and a Neumann condition applies along the remaining section. I will present a general method for obtaining analytic series solutions for the classic problem where the boundary is parallel to the abscissa. In addition, I will extend this technique to the general mixed boundary value problem, defined on an arbitrary boundary, where the boundary is not parallel to the abscissa. I will demonstrate the efficacy of the method on a well known seepage problem.  相似文献

The main aim of this paper is to discuss the problem concerning the analyticity of the solutions of analytic non-linear elliptic boundary value problems. It is proved that if the corresponding first variation is regular in Lopatinskiĭ sense, then the solution is analytic up to the boundary. The method of proof really covers the case that the corresponding first variation is regularly elliptic in the sense of Douglis-Nirenberg-Volevich, and hence completely generalize the previous result of C. B. Morrey. The author also discusses linear elliptic boundary value problems for systems of elliptic partial differential equations where the boundary operators are allowed to have singular integral operators as their coefficients. Combining the standard Fourier transform technique with analytic continuation argument, the author constructs the Poisson and Green’s kernel matrices related to the problems discussed and hence obtain some representation formulae to the solutions. For the wave equation, problems with two-sided boundary controls of three basic types are considered. Constructive estimates for the bounded invertibility of the control operator with known estimated constants are obtained in classes of weak generalized solutions on intervals of subcritical length. With the use of these estimates, stable numerical solutions of the considered problems on time intervals of strictly subcritical length can be found by applying a variational method. The main difference of the present estimated constants from those considered previously in the case of strong generalized solutions is that they degenerate as the time interval length approaches its critical value.  相似文献

利用复变函数理论进行地下任意开挖断面隧洞围岩应力分析的前提,是根据围岩应力边界条件方程推导出两个解析函数.从Harnack定理出发,将隧洞围岩应力边界条件方程转化成积分方程;把Laurent级数有限项表示的映射函数引入积分方程中,将以任意开挖断面为边界条件的解析函数求解转化成以单位圆周线为边界条件的求解问题.对积分方程中各被积函数在讨论域内的解析性进行了分析,在此基础上利用留数理论求解了方程中各项积分值,并获得了用来表示任意开挖断面隧道围岩应力的两个解析函数通式.给出了圆形和椭圆形隧道的两个解析函数求解算例,所获得的结果与文献中的结果一致.利用留数理论推导出的两个解析函数通式,适用于任意开挖断面隧洞的围岩应力解析解的计算,且计算过程更为简单,计算结果更为精确.  相似文献

In this article, we reconsider the mixed boundary value problem on the unit circle for a pair of metaanalytic and analytic functions as in Du and Wang (2008) [9]. By adopting appropriate transformations, we convert the problem into two independent boundary value problems for analytic functions. We then obtain expressions of solution and condition of solvability for the mixed boundary value problem. The forms of the solutions and the condition of solvability here are rather dissimilar to those in Du and Wang (2008) [9]. But the equivalence is established at the end of this article.  相似文献
