The organic radical-ion salt DEOCC-TCNQF4 contains linear chains of stacked molecules with significant Heisenberg antiferromagnet interactions along the chain and extremely weak interactions between the chains. Zero-field muSR has confirmed the absence of long-range magnetic order down to 20 mK and field-dependent muSR is found to be consistent with diffusive motion of the spin excitations. The anisotropic spin dynamics and the upper boundary for magnetic ordering temperature both indicate interchain magnetic coupling /J'/<7 mK. As the intrachain coupling J is 110 K, /J'/J/ is significantly less than 10(-4). This system therefore provides one of the most ideal examples of the one-dimensional S=1/2 Heisenberg antiferromagnet yet discovered.  相似文献

We investigate the thermodynamical and magnetic properties of the one dimensional spin-1/2 antiferromagnetic Heisenberg model with competing interactions near the transition between the "dimer phase" and the "frustrated phase".  相似文献

We investigated the properties of the spin-1/2 ferromagnetic-antiferromagnetic-antiferromagnetic alternating Heisenberg chain using the spin-wave theory. The spin-wave excitation spectra, the sublattice magnetizations and the local bond energies of the model are calculated to be compared with the corresponding properties of the mixed spin (1, 1/2) chain for a range of α. The results demonstrate that all the properties show similar behaviours in the small α limit, so the properties of the mixed spin (1, 1/2) chain can be described using the spin-1/2 ferromagnetic-antiferromagnetic-antiferromagnetic alternating Heisenberg chain.  相似文献

We report a neutron scattering study of the long-wavelength dynamic spin correlations in the model two-dimensional S = 1/2 square lattice Heisenberg antiferromagnets Sr2CuO2Cl2 and Sr2Cu3O4Cl2. The characteristic energy scale, omega(0)(T/J), is determined by measuring the quasielastic peak width in the paramagnetic phase over a wide range of temperature ( 0.2 less similarT/J less similar0.7). The obtained values for omega(0)(T/J) agree quantitatively between the two compounds and also with values deduced from quantum Monte Carlo simulations. The combined data show scaling behavior, omega approximately xi(-z), over the entire temperature range with z = 1.0(1), in agreement with dynamic scaling theory.  相似文献

We work out the magnetization and susceptibility of Heisenberg- and XXZ-model antiferromagnet spin-1/2 systems in D dimensions under a rigorous constraint of single particle site occupancy. Quantum and thermal fluctuations are taken into account up to the first order in a loop expansion beyond the Néel state mean field solution. We discuss the results, their validity in the vicinity of the critical point and compare them with the results obtained by means of a spin wave approach.  相似文献

We consider the spin-1/2 Heisenberg chain with alternating spin exchange in the presence of additional modulation of exchange on odd bonds with period 3. We study the ground state magnetic phase diagram of this hexamer spin chain in the limit of very strong antiferromagnetic (AF) exchange on odd bonds using the numerical Lanczos method and bosonization approach. In the limit of strong magnetic field commensurate with the dominating AF exchange, the model is mapped onto an effective XXZ Heisenberg chain in the presence of uniform and spatially modulated fields, which is studied using the standard continuum-limit bosonization approach. In the absence of additional hexamer modulation, the model undergoes a quantum phase transition from a gapped phase into the only one gapless Lüttinger liquid (LL) phase by increasing the magnetic field. In the presence of hexamer modulation, two new gapped phases are identified in the ground state at magnetization equal to [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] of the saturation value. These phases reveal themselves also in the magnetization curve as plateaus at corresponding values of magnetization. As a result, the magnetic phase diagram of the hexamer chain shows seven different quantum phases, four gapped and three gapless, and the system is characterized by six critical fields which mark quantum phase transitions between the ordered gapped and the LL gapless phases.  相似文献

The spin system of the Heisenberg model (s=1/2) on a square lattice with antiferromagnetic (AFM) exchange between nearest neighbors (in which there is no long-range magnetic order at any T≠0) is treated as a spatially homogeneous isotropic spin liquid. The double-time temperature Green’s function method is used in the framework of a second-step decoupling scheme. It is shown that, as T → 0, the spin liquid goes over (without any change in symmetry) to a singlet state with energy (per bond) ?0=?0.352 and the correlation length diverges as ξ ∝ T ?1 exp(T 0/T). The spatial spin correlators oscillate in sign with distance, as in the AFM state. The theory allows one to calculate the main characteristics of the system in all temperature ranges.  相似文献

A systematic perturbation theory is developed for the ESR shift and is applied to the spin-1/2 Heisenberg antiferromagnetic chain with a general anisotropic exchange interaction. Using the Bethe ansatz technique, the resonance shift is obtained exactly for the whole range of temperature and magnetic field in the first order of the anisotropy. The obtained g shift strongly depends on magnetic fields at low temperature, showing a significant deviation from the previous classical result.  相似文献

The longitudinal spin structure factor for the XXZ-chain at small wave vector q is obtained using Bethe ansatz, field theory methods, and the density matrix renormalization group. It consists of a peak with a peculiar, non-Lorentzian shape and a high-frequency tail. We show that the width of the peak is proportional to q2 for finite magnetic field compared to q3 for a zero field. For the tail we derive an analytic formula without any adjustable parameters and demonstrate that the integrability of the model directly affects the line shape.  相似文献

We report temperature and magnetic field dependent magnetization and quantification of entanglement from the experimental data for dichloro (thiazole) copper (II), a Heisenberg spin chain system. The plot of magnetic susceptibility vs. temperature indicates an infinite spin chain. Isothermal magnetization measurements (as functions of magnetic field) were performed at various temperatures below the antiferromagnetic (AFM) ordering, where the AFM correlations persist significantly. These magnetization curves are fitted to the Bonner–Fisher model. Magnetic susceptibility is used as an entanglement witness to quantify the amount of entanglement in the system.  相似文献

We present a new perturbative real space renormalization group (RG) to study random quantum spin chains and other one-dimensional disordered quantum systems. The method overcomes problems of the original approach which fails for quantum random chains with spins larger than S=1/2. Since it works even for weak disorder, we are able to obtain the zero temperature phase diagram of the random antiferromagnetic Heisenberg spin-1 chain as a function of disorder. We find a random singlet phase for strong disorder. As the disorder decreases, the system shows a crossover from a Griffiths to a disordered Haldane phase.  相似文献

We have carried out a neutron scattering investigation of the static structure factorS(q 2D ) (q 2D is the in-plane wave vector) in the two-dimensional spinS=1/2 square-lattice Heisenberg antiferromagnet Sr2CuO2Cl2. For the spin correlation length we find quantitative agreement with Monte Carlo results over a wide range of temperature. The combined Sr2CuO2Cl2-Monte Carlo data, which cover the length scale from 1 to 200 lattice constants, are predicted without adjustable parameteres by renormalized classical theory for the quantum nonlinear sigma model. For the structure factor peakS(0), on the other hand, we findS(0) 2 for the reduced temperature range 0.16<T/2 s <0.36, whereas current theories predict that at low temperaturesS(0)T 2 2. This discrepancy has important implications for the interpretation of many derivative quantities such as NMR relaxation rates. In the ordered phase, we have measured the temperature dependence of the out-of-plane spin-wave gap. Its low-temperature value of 5.0 meV corresponds to an XY anisotropyJ XY /J=1.4×10–4. From measurements of the sublattice mangetization we obtain =0.22±0.01 for the order parameter exponent. This may either reflect tricricality as in La2CuO4, or it may indicate finite-size two-dimensional XY behavior as suggested by Bramwell and Holdsworth. As in theS=1 system K2NiF4, the gap energy in Sr2CuO2Cl2 scales linearly with the order parameter up to the Néel temperature. We also reanalyze static structure factor data for K2NiF4 using the exact low temperature result for the correlation length of Hasenfratz and Niedermayer and including the Ising anisotropy explicitly. Excellent agreement between experiment and theory is obtained for the correlation length, albeit with the spin-stiffness s reduced by 20% from the spin-wave value. As in Sr2CuO2Cl2 we find thatS(0) 2 for the reduced temperature range 0.22<T/2 s <0.47.  相似文献
