In this paper, we propose an area preserving bijective map from the regular octahedron to the unit sphere ${\mathbb{S}^2}$ , both centered at the origin. The construction scheme consists of two steps. First, each face F i of the octahedron is mapped to a curved planar triangle ${\mathcal{T}_i}$ of the same area. Afterwards, each ${\mathcal{T}_i}$ is mapped onto the sphere using the inverse Lambert azimuthal equal area projection with respect to a certain point of ${\mathbb{S}^2}$ . The proposed map is then used to construct uniform and refinable grids on a sphere, starting from any triangular uniform and refinable grid on the triangular faces of the octahedron.  相似文献

In this paper we provide a first realization of an idea of Jacques Tits from a 1956 paper, which first mentioned that there should be a field of charactéristique une, which is now called ${\mathbb{F}_1}$ , the field with one element. This idea was that every split reductive group scheme over ${\mathbb{Z}}$ should descend to ${\mathbb{F}_1}$ , and its group of ${\mathbb{F}_1}$ -rational points should be its Weyl group. We connect the notion of a torified scheme to the notion of ${\mathbb{F}_1}$ -schemes as introduced by Connes and Consani. This yields models of toric varieties, Schubert varieties and split reductive group schemes as ${\mathbb{F}_1}$ -schemes. We endow the class of ${\mathbb{F}_1}$ -schemes with two classes of morphisms, one leading to a satisfying notion of ${\mathbb{F}_1}$ -rational points, the other leading to the notion of an algebraic group over ${\mathbb{F}_1}$ such that every split reductive group is defined as an algebraic group over ${\mathbb{F}_1}$ . Furthermore, we show that certain combinatorics that are expected from parabolic subgroups of GL(n) and Grassmann varieties are realized in this theory.  相似文献

Suppose that n is even. Let ${\mathbb{F}_2}$ denote the two-element field and ${\mathbb{Z}}$ the set of integers. Bent functions can be defined as ± 1-valued functions on ${\mathbb{F}_2^n}$ with ± 1-valued Fourier transform. More generally we call a mapping f on ${\mathbb{F}_2^n}$ a ${\mathbb{Z}}$ -bent function if both f and its Fourier transform ${\widehat{f}}$ are integer-valued. ${\mathbb{Z}}$ -bent functions f are separated into different levels, depending on the size of the maximal absolute value attained by f and ${\widehat{f}}$ . It is shown how ${\mathbb{Z}}$ -bent functions of lower level can be built up recursively by gluing together ${\mathbb{Z}}$ -bent functions of higher level. This recursion comes down at level zero, containing the usual bent functions. In the present paper we start to study bent functions in the framework of ${\mathbb{Z}}$ -bent functions and give some guidelines for further research.  相似文献

We show that the established necessary conditions for a GBRD ${(v,3,\lambda; \mathbb {G})}$ are sufficient (i) when ${\mathbb {G}}$ is supersolvable and (ii) when ${\mathbb {G}}$ is solvable with ${\vert \mathbb {G} \vert }$ prime to 3.  相似文献

In this paper, we prove that every lax generalized Veronesean embedding of the Hermitian unital ${\mathcal{U}}$ of ${\mathsf{PG}(2,\mathbb{L}), \mathbb{L}}$ a quadratic extension of the field ${\mathbb{K}}$ and ${|\mathbb{K}| \geq 3}$ , in a ${\mathsf{PG}(d,\mathbb{F})}$ , with ${\mathbb{F}}$ any field and d ≥ 7, such that disjoint blocks span disjoint subspaces, is the standard Veronesean embedding in a subgeometry ${\mathsf{PG}(7,\mathbb{K}^{\prime})}$ of ${\mathsf{PG}(7,\mathbb{F})}$ (and d = 7) or it consists of the projection from a point ${p \in \mathcal{U}}$ of ${\mathcal{U}{\setminus} \{p\}}$ from a subgeometry ${\mathsf{PG}(7,\mathbb{K}^{\prime})}$ of ${\mathsf{PG}(7,\mathbb{F})}$ into a hyperplane ${\mathsf{PG}(6,\mathbb{K}^{\prime})}$ . In order to do so, when ${|\mathbb{K}| >3 }$ we strongly use the linear representation of the affine part of ${\mathcal{U}}$ (the line at infinity being secant) as the affine part of the generalized quadrangle ${\mathsf{Q}(4,\mathbb{K})}$ (the solid at infinity being non-singular); when ${|\mathbb{K}| =3}$ , we use the connection of ${\mathcal{U}}$ with the generalized hexagon of order 2.  相似文献

Let ${\mathcal{P}}$ be a nonparametric probability model consisting of smooth probability densities and let ${\hat{p}_{n}}$ be the corresponding maximum likelihood estimator based on n independent observations each distributed according to the law ${\mathbb{P}}$ . With $\hat{\mathbb{P}}_{n}$ denoting the measure induced by the density ${\hat{p}_{n}}$ , define the stochastic process ${\hat{\nu}}_{n}: f\longmapsto \sqrt{n} \int fd({\hat{\mathbb{P}}}_{n} -\mathbb{P})$ where f ranges over some function class ${\mathcal{F}}$ . We give a general condition for Donsker classes ${\mathcal{F}}$ implying that the stochastic process $\hat{\nu}_{n}$ is asymptotically equivalent to the empirical process in the space ${\ell ^{\infty }(\mathcal{F})}$ of bounded functions on ${ \mathcal{F}}$ . This implies in particular that $\hat{\nu}_{n}$ converges in law in ${\ell ^{\infty }(\mathcal{F})}$ to a mean zero Gaussian process. We verify the general condition for a large family of Donsker classes ${\mathcal{ F}}$ . We give a number of applications: convergence of the probability measure ${\hat{\mathbb{P}}_{n}}$ to ${\mathbb{P}}$ at rate ${\sqrt{n}}$ in certain metrics metrizing the topology of weak(-star) convergence; a unified treatment of convergence rates of the MLE in a continuous scale of Sobolev-norms; ${\sqrt{n}}$ -efficient estimation of nonlinear functionals defined on ${\mathcal{P}}$ ; limit theorems at rate ${\sqrt{n}}$ for the maximum likelihood estimator of the convolution product ${\mathbb{P\ast P}}$ .  相似文献

Let ${\mathbb{Q}^3}$ be the moduli space of oriented circles in the three dimensional unit sphere ${\mathbb{S}^3}$ . Given a natural complex structure such space becomes a three dimensional complex manifold, with a M?bius invariant Hermitian metric h of type (2, 1). Up to M?bius transformations, all geodesics with respect to the Lorentz metric g = Re(h) on ${\mathbb{Q}^3}$ are determined to form a one-parameter family of circles on a helicoid in a space form ${\mathbb{R}^3, \mathbb{H}^3}$ or ${\mathbb{S}^{3}}$ , resp. We show also that any two oriented circles in ${\mathbb{S}^3}$ are connected by countably infinitely many geodesics in ${\mathbb{Q}^3}$ .  相似文献

Let qp s be a power of a prime number p and let ${\mathbb {F}_{\rm q}}$ be a finite field with q elements. This paper aims to demonstrate the utility and relation of composed products to other areas such as the factorization of cyclotomic polynomials, construction of irreducible polynomials, and linear recurrence sequences over ${\mathbb {F}_{\rm q}}$ . In particular we obtain the explicit factorization of the cyclotomic polynomial ${\Phi_{2^nr}}$ over ${\mathbb {F}_{\rm q}}$ where both r ≥ 3 and q are odd, gcd(q, r) = 1, and ${n\in \mathbb{N}}$ . Previously, only the special cases when r = 1, 3, 5, had been achieved. For this we make the assumption that the explicit factorization of ${\Phi_r}$ over ${\mathbb {F}_{\rm q}}$ is given to us as a known. Let ${n = p_1^{e_1}p_2^{e_2}\cdots p_s^{e_s}}$ be the factorization of ${n \in \mathbb{N}}$ into powers of distinct primes p i , 1 ≤ i ≤ s. In the case that the multiplicative orders of q modulo all these prime powers ${p_i^{e_i}}$ are pairwise coprime, we show how to obtain the explicit factors of ${\Phi_{n}}$ from the factors of each ${\Phi_{p_i^{e_i}}}$ . We also demonstrate how to obtain the factorization of ${\Phi_{mn}}$ from the factorization of ${\Phi_n}$ when q is a primitive root modulo m and ${{\rm gcd}(m, n) = {\rm gcd}(\phi(m),{\rm ord}_n(q)) = 1.}$ Here ${\phi}$ is the Euler’s totient function, and ord n (q) denotes the multiplicative order of q modulo n. Moreover, we present the construction of a new class of irreducible polynomials over ${\mathbb {F}_{\rm q}}$ and generalize a result due to Varshamov (Soviet Math Dokl 29:334–336, 1984).  相似文献

In this paper, we show that the extended modular group ${\hat{\Gamma}}$ acts on ${\hat{\mathbb{Q}}}$ transitively and imprimitively. Then the number of orbits of ${\hat{\Gamma} _{0}(N)}$ on ${\hat{\mathbb{Q}}}$ is calculated and compared with the number of orbits of ${\Gamma _{0}(N)}$ on ${\hat{\mathbb{Q}}}$ . Especially, we obtain the graphs ${\hat{G}_{u, N}}$ of ${\hat{\Gamma}_{0}(N)}$ on ${\hat{\mathbb{Q}}}$ , for each ${N\in\mathbb{N}}$ and each unit ${u \in U_{N} }$ , then we determine the suborbital graph ${\hat{F}_{u,N}}$ . We also give the edge conditions in ${\hat{G}_{u, N}}$ and the necessary and sufficient conditions for a circuit to be triangle in ${\hat{F}_{u, N}.}$   相似文献

We investigate real local isometric immersions of Kähler manifolds ${\mathbb{C}Q^2_c}$ of constant holomorphic curvature 4c into complex projective 3-space. Our main result is that the standard embedding of ${\mathbb{C}P^2}$ into ${\mathbb{C}P^3}$ has strong rigidity under the class of local isometric transformations. We also prove that there are no local isometric immersions of ${\mathbb{C}Q^2_c}$ into ${\mathbb{C}P^3}$ when they have different holomorphic curvature. An important method used is a study of the relationship between the complex structure of any locally isometric immersed ${\mathbb{C}Q^2_c}$ and the complex structure of the ambient space ${\mathbb{C}P^3}$ .  相似文献

Bijective operators conserving the indefinite scalar product on a Krein space ${(\mathcal{K}, J)}$ are called J-unitary. Such an operator T is defined to be ${\mathbb{S}^1}$ -Fredholm if T?z 1 is Fredholm for all z on the unit circle ${\mathbb{S}^1}$ , and essentially ${\mathbb{S}^1}$ -gapped if there is only discrete spectrum on ${\mathbb{S}^1}$ . For paths in the ${\mathbb{S}^1}$ -Fredholm operators an intersection index similar to the Conley–Zehnder index is introduced. The strict subclass of essentially ${\mathbb{S}^1}$ -gapped operators has a countable number of components which can be distinguished by a homotopy invariant given by the signature of J restricted to the eigenspace of all eigenvalues on ${\mathbb{S}^1}$ . These concepts are illustrated by several examples.  相似文献

By a $\mathfrak{B}$ -regular variety, we mean a smooth projective variety over $\mathbb{C}$ admitting an algebraic action of the upper triangular Borel subgroup $\mathfrak{B} \subset {\text{SL}}_{2} {\left( \mathbb{C} \right)}$ such that the unipotent radical in $\mathfrak{B}$ has a unique fixed point. A result of Brion and the first author [4] describes the equivariant cohomology algebra (over $\mathbb{C}$ ) of a $\mathfrak{B}$ -regular variety X as the coordinate ring of a remarkable affine curve in $X \times \mathbb{P}^{1}$ . The main result of this paper uses this fact to classify the $\mathfrak{B}$ -invariant subvarieties Y of a $\mathfrak{B}$ -regular variety X for which the restriction map i Y : H *(X) → H *(Y) is surjective.  相似文献

Let ${{\mathbb H}_n, n \geq 1}$ , be the near 2n-gon defined on the 1-factors of the complete graph on 2n?+?2 vertices, and let e denote the absolutely universal embedding of ${{\mathbb H}_n}$ into PG(W), where W is a ${\frac{1}{n+2} \left(\begin{array}{c}2n+2 \\ n+1\end{array}\right)}$ -dimensional vector space over the field ${{\mathbb F}_2}$ with two elements. For every point z of ${{\mathbb H}_n}$ and every ${i \in {\mathbb N}}$ , let Δ i (z) denote the set of points of ${{\mathbb H}_n}$ at distance i from z. We show that for every pair {x, y} of mutually opposite points of ${{\mathbb H}_n, W}$ can be written as a direct sum ${W_0 \oplus W_1 \oplus \cdots \oplus W_n}$ such that the following four properties hold for every ${i \in \{0,\ldots,n \}}$ : (1) ${\langle e(\Delta_i(x) \cap \Delta_{n-i}(y)) \rangle = {\rm PG}(W_i)}$ ; (2) ${\left\langle e \left( \bigcup_{j \leq i} \Delta_j(x) \right) \right\rangle = {\rm PG}(W_0 \oplus W_1 \oplus \cdots \oplus W_i)}$ ; (3) ${\left\langle e \left( \bigcup_{j \leq i} \Delta_j(y) \right) \right\rangle = {\rm PG}(W_{n-i}\oplus W_{n-i+1} \oplus \cdots \oplus W_n)}$ ; (4) ${\dim(W_i) = |\Delta_i(x) \cap \Delta_{n-i}(y)| = \left(\begin{array}{c}n \\ i\end{array}\right)^2 - \left(\begin{array}{c}n \\ i-1\end{array}\right) \cdot \left(\begin{array}{c}n \\ i+1\end{array}\right)}$ .  相似文献

Given n, N ≥ 1 we construct a set of points ${\lambda_1,{\ldots},\lambda_{N^n}\in{\mathbb D}^n}$ such that for each rational inner function f on ${{\mathbb D}^n}$ of degree less than N the Pick problem on ${{\mathbb D}^n}$ with data ${\lambda_1,{\ldots},\lambda_{N^n}}$ and ${f(\lambda_1),{\ldots},f(\lambda_{N^n})}$ has a unique solution. In particular, we construct a 1-dimensional inner variety V and show that the points ${\lambda_1,{\ldots},\lambda_{N^n}}$ may be chosen almost arbitrarily in ${V\cap{\mathbb D}^n}$ . Our results state that f is uniquely determined in the Schur class of ${{\mathbb D}^n}$ by its values on ${\lambda_1,{\ldots},\lambda_{N^n}}$ .  相似文献

This paper addresses the question of retrieving the triple ${(\mathcal X,\mathcal P, E)}$ from the algebraic geometry code ${\mathcal C = \mathcal C_L(\mathcal X, \mathcal P, E)}$ , where ${\mathcal X}$ is an algebraic curve over the finite field ${\mathbb F_q, \,\mathcal P}$ is an n-tuple of ${\mathbb F_q}$ -rational points on ${\mathcal X}$ and E is a divisor on ${\mathcal X}$ . If ${\deg(E)\geq 2g+1}$ where g is the genus of ${\mathcal X}$ , then there is an embedding of ${\mathcal X}$ onto ${\mathcal Y}$ in the projective space of the linear series of the divisor E. Moreover, if ${\deg(E)\geq 2g+2}$ , then ${I(\mathcal Y)}$ , the vanishing ideal of ${\mathcal Y}$ , is generated by ${I_2(\mathcal Y)}$ , the homogeneous elements of degree two in ${I(\mathcal Y)}$ . If ${n >2 \deg(E)}$ , then ${I_2(\mathcal Y)=I_2(\mathcal Q)}$ , where ${\mathcal Q}$ is the image of ${\mathcal P}$ under the map from ${\mathcal X}$ to ${\mathcal Y}$ . These three results imply that, if ${2g+2\leq m < \frac{1}{2}n}$ , an AG representation ${(\mathcal Y, \mathcal Q, F)}$ of the code ${\mathcal C}$ can be obtained just using a generator matrix of ${\mathcal C}$ where ${\mathcal Y}$ is a normal curve in ${\mathbb{P}^{m-g}}$ which is the intersection of quadrics. This fact gives us some clues for breaking McEliece cryptosystem based on AG codes provided that we have an efficient procedure for computing and decoding the representation obtained.  相似文献

Tensor data are becoming important recently in various application fields. In this paper, we consider the maximal rank problem of 3-tensors and extend Atkinson and Stephens’ and Atkinson and Lloyd’s results over the real number field. We also prove the assertion of Atkinson and Stephens: ${{\rm max.rank}_{\mathbb{R}}(m,n,p) \leq m+\lfloor p/2\rfloor n}$ , ${{\rm max.rank}_{\mathbb{R}}(n,n,p) \leq (p+1)n/2}$ if p is even, ${{\rm max.rank}_{\mathbb{F}}(n,n,3)\leq 2n-1}$ if ${\mathbb{F}=\mathbb{C}}$ or n is odd, and ${{\rm max.rank}_{\mathbb{F}}(m,n,3)\leq m+n-1}$ if m < n where ${\mathbb{F}}$ stands for ${\mathbb{R}}$ or ${\mathbb{C}}$ .  相似文献

Let V be a two-dimensional absolutely irreducible ${\overline{\mathbb Qp}}$ -representation of ${{\rm Gal}(\overline{\mathbb Qp}/\mathbb Qp)}$ and let ${\prod(V)}$ be the ${{\rm GL}_2(\mathbb Qp)}$ Banach representation associated by Colmez??s p-adic Langlands correspondence. We establish a link between the action of the Lie algebra of ${{\rm GL}_2(\mathbb Qp)}$ on the locally analytic vectors ${\prod(V)^{\rm an}}$ of ${\prod(V)}$ , the connection ${\nabla}$ on the ${(\varphi, \Gamma)}$ -module associated to V and the Sen polynomial of V. This answers a question of Harris, concerning the infinitesimal character of ${\prod(V)^{\rm an}}$ . Using this result, we give a new proof of a theorem of Colmez, stating that ${\prod(V)}$ has nonzero locally algebraic vectors if and only if V is potentially semi-stable with distinct Hodge?CTate weights.  相似文献

We provide a matrix invariant for isometry classes of p-tuples of points in the Grassmann manifold ${G_{n}\left(\mathbb{K}^{d}\right) }$ ( ${\mathbb{K=\mathbb{R}}}$ or ${\mathbb{C}}$ ). This invariant fully characterizes the p-tuple. We use it to classify the regular p-tuples of ${G_{2}\left(\mathbb{R}^{d}\right) }$ , ${G_{3}\left( \mathbb{R}^{d}\right) }$ and ${G_{2}\left( \mathbb{C}^{d}\right) }$ .  相似文献

Let ${\mathcal{A}_{\lambda}^2(\mathbb{B}^n)}$ denote the standard weighted Bergman space over the unit ball ${\mathbb{B}^n}$ in ${\mathbb{C}^n}$ . New classes of commutative Banach algebras ${\mathcal{T}(\lambda)}$ which are generated by Toeplitz operators on ${\mathcal{A}_{\lambda}^2(\mathbb{B}^n)}$ have been recently discovered in Vasilevski (Integr Equ Oper Theory 66(1):141?C152, 2010). These algebras are induced by the action of the quasi-elliptic group of biholomorphisms of ${\mathbb{B}^n}$ . In the present paper we analyze in detail the internal structure of such an algebra in the lowest dimensional case n?=?2. We explicitly describe the maximal ideal space and the Gelfand map of ${\mathcal{T}(\lambda)}$ . Since ${\mathcal{T}(\lambda)}$ is not invariant under the *-operation of ${\mathcal{L}(\mathcal{A}_{\lambda}^2(\mathbb{B}^n))}$ its inverse closedness is not obvious and is proved. We remark that the algebra ${\mathcal{T}(\lambda)}$ is not semi-simple and we derive its radical. Several applications of our results are given and, in particular, we conclude that the essential spectrum of elements in ${\mathcal{T}(\lambda)}$ is always connected.  相似文献
