We prove that the β-function of the Grosse–Wulkenhaar model including a magnetic field vanishes at all order of perturbations. We compute the renormalization group flow of the relevant dynamic parameters and find a non-Gaussian infrared fixed point. Some consequences of these results are discussed.  相似文献

We analyze the noncommutative two-dimensional Wess–Zumino–Witten model and its properties under Seiberg–Witten transformations in the operator formulation. We prove that the model is invariant under such transformations even for the noncritical (non-chiral) case, in which the coefficients of the kinetic and Wess–Zumino terms are not related. The pure Wess–Zumino term represents a singular case in which this transformation fails to reach a commutative limit. We also discuss potential implications of this result for bosonization.  相似文献

He-McKellar-Wilkens Effect in Noncommutative Space   总被引:8,自引:0,他引:8       下载免费PDF全文
The He-McKellar-Wilkens (HMW) effect in non-commutative (NC) space is studied. By solving the Dirac equations on NC space, we obtain topological HMW phase in NC space where the additional terms related to the space non-commutativity are given explicitly.  相似文献

A Fock--Darwin system in noncommutative quantum mechanics is studied. By constructing Heisenberg algebra we obtain the levels on noncommutative space and noncommutative phase space, and give the corrections to the results in usual quantum mechanics. Moreover, to search the difference among the three spaces, the degeneracy is analysed by two ways, the valueof ω/ωc and certain algebra realization (SU(2)and SU(1,1)), and some interesting properties in the magnetic field limit are exhibited, such as totally different degeneracy and magic number distribution for the given frequency or mass of a system in strong magnetic field.  相似文献

We show that in the Snyder space the area of the disc and of the sphere can be quantized. It is also shown that the area spectrum of the sphere can be related to the Bekenstein conjecture for the area spectrum of a black hole horizon.  相似文献

We consider noncommutative gauge theory defined by means of Seiberg–Witten maps for an arbitrary semisimple gauge group. We compute the one-loop UV divergent matter contributions to the gauge field effective action to all orders in the noncommutative parameters θ. We do this for Dirac fermions and complex scalars carrying arbitrary representations of the gauge group. We use path-integral methods in the framework of dimensional regularisation and consider arbitrary invertible Seiberg–Witten maps that are linear in the matter fields. Surprisingly, it turns out that the UV divergent parts of the matter contributions are proportional to the noncommutative Yang–Mills action where traces are taken over the representation of the matter fields; this result supports the need to include such traces in the classical action of the gauge sector of the noncommutative theory.  相似文献

Employing Maxwell’s equations as the field theory of the photon, quantum mechanical operators for spin, chirality, helicity, velocity, momentum, energy, and position are derived. The photon “Zitterbewegung” along helical paths is explored. The resulting non-commutative geometry of photon position and the quantum version of the Pythagorean theorem is discussed. The distance between two photons in a polarized beam of given helicity is shown to have a discrete spectrum. Such a spectrum should become manifest in measurements of two photon coincidence counts. The proposed experiment is briefly described.  相似文献

We show that the Moyal ?-product on the algebra of fields induces an effective lattice structure on vortex dynamics which can be explicitly constructed using recent asymptotic results.  相似文献

The possibility of a resummation procedure in order to cure the UV/IR-mixing problem of noncommutative field theories is discussed. The method is presented for a scalar φ4 theory on Euclidean space. Finally, we sketch the idea of resummation forU(1)-gauge theories.  相似文献

The β-functions of O(N) and U(N) invariant Grosse–Wulkenhaar models are computed at one loop using the matrix basis. In particular, for “parallel interactions”, the model is proved to be asymptotically free in the UV limit for N>1, and it has a triviality problem or Landau ghost for N<1. The vanishing β-function is recovered solely at N=1. We discuss various possible consequences of these results. A formula describing finite renormalizations is derived in the Epstein‐Glaser formalism and an explicit calculation of finite counterterms in Φ4‐theory is performed. The Zimmermann identities and the action principle for changes of parameters in the interaction are presented independent of the adiabatic limit.  相似文献

We consider a low-energy effective field theory of vector mesons and Goldstone bosons using the complex-mass renormalization. As an application we calculate the mass and the width of the ρ meson.  相似文献

We study the quantum Hall (QH) effect for an electron moving in a plane whose coordinates and momenta are noncommuting under the influence of uniform external magnetic and electric fields. After solving the time independent Schrödinger equation both on a noncommutative space (NCS) and a noncommutative phase space (NCPS), we obtain the energy eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of the relevant Hamiltonian. We derive the electric current whose expectation value gives the QH effect both on a NCS and a NCPS.  相似文献

We apply light-front quantization, Pauli-Villars regularization, and numerical techniques to the nonperturbative solution of the dressed-fermion problem in Yukawa theory in 3 + 1 dimensions. The solution is developed as a Fock-state expansion truncated to include at most one fermion and two bosons. The basis includes a negative-metric heavy boson and a negative-metric heavy fermion to provide the necessary cancellations of ultraviolet divergences. The integral equations for the Fock-state wave functions are solved by reducing them to effective one-boson-one-fermion equations for eigenstates with Jz = 1/2. The equations are converted to a matrix equation with a specially tuned quadrature scheme, and the lowest mass state is obtained by diagonalization. Various properties of the dressed-fermion state are then computed from the nonperturbative light-front wave functions. This work is a major step in our development of Pauli-Villars regularization for the nonperturbative solution of four-dimensional field theories and represents a significant advance in the numerical accuracy of such solutions.  相似文献

Some discrete two-dimensional many particle systems are investigated inside the context of a deformed Newtonian mechanics obtained as a classical limit of a noncommutative quantum mechanics where the noncommutativity includes all degrees of freedom of the theory. Also, applying the continuous limit some alternative noncommutative generalizations of two-dimensional field theories have been constructed.  相似文献

We study relativistic quantum field theories in phase space, based on representations of the Poincaré group, using the Moyal product. We develop a perturbative theory for quantizing fields, with functional methods in phase space. The two-point function is related to relativistic Wigner functions for bosons and fermions. As an example we analyze the complex scalar field with quartic self-interaction.  相似文献

The phase structure of the bosonized multi-flavor Schwinger model is investigated by means of the differential renormalization group (RG) method. In the limit of small fermion mass the linearized RG flow is sufficient to determine the low-energy behavior of the N  -flavor model, if it has been rotated by a suitable rotation in the internal space. For large fermion mass, the exact RG flow has been solved numerically. The low-energy behavior of the multi-flavor model is rather different depending on whether N=1N=1 or N>1N>1, where N   is the number of flavors. For N>1N>1 the reflection symmetry always suffers breakdown in both the weak and strong coupling regimes, in contrary to the N=1N=1 case, where it remains unbroken in the strong coupling phase.  相似文献

We use the theory based on a gravitational gauge group (Wu's model) to obtain a spherical symmetric solution of the field equations for the gravitational potential on a Minkowski spacetime. The gauge group, the gauge covariant derivative, the strength tensor of the gauge feld, the gauge invariant Lagrangean with the cosmological constant, the field equations of the gauge potentiaIs with a gravitational energy-momentum tensor as well as with a tensor of the field of a point like source are determined. Finally, a Reissner-Nordstrom-de Sitter-type metric on the gauge group space is obtained.  相似文献

Ever since the appearance of renormalization theory, there have been several differently motivated attempts at non-localized (in the sense of not generated by pointlike fields) relativistic particle theories, the most recent one being at QFT on non-commutative Minkowski spacetime. The often conceptually uncritical and historically forgetful contemporary approach to these problems calls for a critical review in the light of previous results on this subject.  相似文献
