We derive cubic and quartic couplings of the Higgs singlet extension of the SM and the two Higgs doublet model. We also examine the number of CP violated couplings in a model with n Higgs doublet model and a model with ns Higgs singlets and nd Higgs doublets. We conclude that in order to reconstruct the Higgs potential with multi Higgs fields at the LHC and future colliders, to detect the cubic/quartic couplings is necessary.  相似文献

Higgs couplings can be affected by physics beyond the Standard Model. We study modifications through interactions with a hidden sector and in specific composite Higgs models accessible at the LHC. Both scenarios give rise to congruent patterns of universal, or partially universal, shifts. In addition, Higgs decays to the hidden sector may lead to invisible decay modes which we also exploit. Experimental bounds on such potential modifications will measure the concordance of an observed Higgs boson with the Standard Model.  相似文献

Until now there has been no empirical evidence for the existence of the Higgs particle, although the Higgs mechanism of symmetry breaking is very successful. We propose a scalar-tensor theory of gravity with the Higgs field of theSU(3)×SU(2)×U(1) standard model of the elementary particles as scalar field, which results finally in Einstein's gravity and in theSU(3)×SU(2)×U(1) standard model without any influence of the excited Higgs field.  相似文献

We investigate a possibility if a loop diagram via Higgsino can enhance the Higgs to diphoton decay width in supersymmetric models with an extension of Higgs sector. A model with an additional non-renormalizable term of Higgs fields is firstly analyzed where the higher order term can introduce the Higgs coupling to Higgsinos as well as charged Higgs bosons. We point out that a choice of the Higgs coupling to obtain a significant size of enhancement of diphoton decay width reduces the Higgs mass and/or a size of non-renormalizable term needs to be large and a cutoff scale is around the weak scale. Another model in which the Higgsino mass term is generated by a non-perturbative instanton effect via a strong dynamics in a context of SUSY QCD is also suggested. It is shown that the sign of the Higgs coupling to fermions is opposite from perturbative models due to an operator including bosonic fields in the denominator and a constructive contribution to the diphoton decay amplitude can be easily obtained in this kind of model.  相似文献

In a class of extended Higgs structures containing two Higgs doublets, the decays of the Weinberg-Salam Higgs particle might be significantly different from those in the standard model because it has large branching ratios to decay into light Higgs bosons. We discuss the decays of the Weinberg-Salam Higgs particle with mass range from 7 GeV up to 1 TeV.  相似文献

We explore the possibility of distinguishing the SM-like MSSM Higgs boson from the SM Higgs boson via Higgs boson pair production at future muon collider. We study the behavior of the production cross-section in SM and MSSM with Higgs boson mass for various MSSM parameters tan β and m A . We observe that at fixed CM energy, in the SM, the total cross-section increases with the increase in Higgs boson mass whereas this trend is reversed for the MSSM. The changes that occur for the MSSM in comparison to the SM predictions are quantified in terms of the relative percentage deviation in cross-section. The observed deviations in cross-section for different choices of Higgs boson masses suggest that the measurements of the cross-section could possibly distinguish the SM-like MSSM Higgs boson from the SM Higgs boson.   相似文献

The Higgs sector of the Standard Model offers a unique probe of the hidden sector. In this work, we explore the possibility of renormalizable Higgs couplings to the hidden sector vector fields which can constitute dark matter (DM). Abelian gauge sectors with minimal field content, necessary to render the gauge fields massive, have a natural Z2 parity. This symmetry ensures stability of the vector fields making them viable dark matter candidates, while evading the usual electroweak constraints. We illustrate this idea with the Stückelberg and Higgs mechanisms. Vector DM is consistent with the WMAP, XENON100, and LHC constraints, while it can affect significantly the invisible Higgs decay. Due to the enhanced branching ratio for the Higgs decay into the longitudinal components of the vector field, the vector Higgs portal provides an efficient way to hide the Higgs at the LHC. This could be the reason why the latest combined ATLAS/CMS data did not bring evidence for the existence of the Higgs boson.  相似文献

We develop the technique for calculating interference effects in the effective-W boson method. We find that these effects produce a very large azimuthal asymmetry for single Higgs boson production, which could be used as identification of the process. We also find that the cross section of Higgs boson pair production strongly depends on Higgs self-interaction, and for non-standard models of Higgs bosons could be 5 or 10 times larger than in the case of the standard one.Laboratoire associé au Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique  相似文献

The Higgs sector of the Standard Model offers a unique opportunity to probe the hidden sector. The Higgs squared operator is the only dimension two operator which is Lorentz and gauge invariant. It can therefore couple both to scalar curvature and the hidden sector at the dim-4 level. We consider the possibility that a combination of the Higgs and a singlet from the hidden sector plays the role of inflaton, due to their large couplings to gravity. This implies that the quartic couplings satisfy certain constraints which leads to distinct low energy phenomenology, including Higgs signals at the LHC. We also address the unitarity issues and show that our analysis survives the unitarization procedure.  相似文献

We construct models in which the Higgs doublet whose vacuum expectation breaks SU(2) × U(10 is a bound state of massive strongly interacting fermions. The couplings of the composite Higgs to ordinary fermions are induced by heavy gauge boson exchange in the manner of extended technicolor. Other heavy gauge bosons generate a negative mass term for the Higgs.  相似文献

This article reviews recent measurements of the properties of the standard model (SM) Higgs boson using data recorded with the CMS detector at the LHC: its mass, width and couplings to other SM particles. We also summarise highlights from searches for new physical phenomena in the Higgs sector as they are proposed in many extensions of the SM: flavour violating and invisible decay modes, resonances decaying into Higgs bosons and searches for additional Higgs bosons.  相似文献

We study Higgs boson production and decay in a certain class of little Higgs models with T-parity in which some T-parity partners of the Standard Model (SM) fermions gain their masses through Yukawa-type couplings. We find that the Higgs boson production cross section of a 120 GeV Higgs boson at the CERN LHC via gg fusion process at one-loop level could be reduced by about 45%, 35% and 20%, as compared to its SM prediction, for a relatively low new particle mass scale f=600, 700 and 1000 GeV, respectively. On the other hand, the weak boson fusion cross section is close to the SM value. Furthermore, the Higgs boson decay branching ratio into di-photon mode can be enhanced by about 35% in small Higgs mass region in certain case, for the total decay width of Higgs boson in the little Higgs model is always smaller than that in the SM.  相似文献

Interpretations of Higgs searches critically involve production cross sections and decay probabilities for different analysis channels. Mixing effects can reduce production rates, while invisible decays can reduce decay probabilities. Both effects may transparently be quantified in Higgs systems where a visible Higgs boson is mixed with a hidden sector Higgs boson. Recent experimental exclusion bounds can be re-interpreted in this context as a sign for non-standard Higgs properties. Should a light Higgs boson be discovered, then our analysis will quantify how closely it may coincide with the Standard Model.  相似文献

We study the Higgs portal from the Standard-Model to a hidden sector and examine which elements of the extended theory can be discovered and explored at the LHC. Our model includes two Higgs bosons covering parameter regions where the LHC will be sensitive to two, one or none of the particles at typical discovery luminosities for Standard Model Higgs production.  相似文献

We introduce Higgs democracy in the Yukawa sector by constructing a model with a private Higgs and a dark scalar for each fermion thus addressing the large hierarchy among fermion masses. The model has interesting implications for the LHC, while the Standard Model phenomenology is recovered at low energies. We discuss some phenomenological implications such as FCNC, new Higgses at the TeV scale and dark matter candidates.  相似文献

We discuss models where the Higgs boson of the electroweak standard model plays the role of the inflaton. We focus on the question of the violation of perturbative unitarity due to the coupling of the Higgs boson either to the Ricci scalar or to the Einstein tensor and discuss the background dependence of the unitarity bounds. Our conclusion is that the simplest model which restricts itself to the standard model Higgs boson without introducing further degrees of freedom has a serious problem. However, in the asymptotically safe gravity scenario, the Higgs boson of the standard model could be the inflaton and no physics beyond the standard model is required to explain both inflation and the spontaneous breaking of the electroweak symmetry of the standard model.  相似文献

We study the decays of Higgs bosons to a lighter Higgs boson and a virtual gauge boson in the context of the non-supersymmetric two-Higgs doublet model (2HDM). We consider the phenomenological impact at LEP2 and find that such decays, when open, may be dominant in regions of parameter space and thus affect current Higgs boson search techniques. Three-body decays would be a way of producing light neutral Higgs bosons which have so far escaped detection at LEP due to suppressed couplings to the Z, and are of particular importance in the 2HDM (Model I) which allows both a light fermiophobic Higgs and a light charged scalar.  相似文献

CP violation effects of the Higgs stem from not only the CP mixing state but also the CP-violation couplings to electroweak bosons. The two CPV sources are combinedly studied based on an effective Higgs Lagrangian. The constraints from unitarity limits for W W and ZZ scatterings are investigated. We classify free parameters into five cases to analyze CP properties of the Boson. The allowed ranges are shown from fitting results to the signal strengths of the Higgs measured by ATLAS and CMS.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate the Higgs Triplet Model with hypercharge \(Y_{\varDelta }=0\) (HTM0), an extension of the Standard model, caracterized by a more involved scalar spectrum consisting of two CP even Higgs \(h^0, H^0\) and two charged Higgs bosons \(H^\pm \). We first show that the parameter space of HTM0, usually delimited by combined constraints originating from unitarity and BFB as well as experimental limits from LEP and LHC, is severely reduced when the modified Veltman conditions at one loop are also imposed. Then, we perform an rigorous analysis of Higgs decays either when \(h^0\) is the SM-like or when the heaviest neutral Higgs \(H^0\) is identified to the observed 125 GeV Higgs boson at LHC. In these scenarios, we perform an extensive parameter scan, in the lower part of the scalar mass spectrum, with a particular focus on the Higgs to Higgs decay modes \(H^0 \rightarrow h^0h^0, H^\pm \,H^\mp \) leading predominantly to invisible Higgs decays. Finally, we also study the scenario where \(h^0, H^0\) are mass degenerate. We thus find that consistency with LHC signal strengths favours a light charged Higgs with a mass about 176–178 GeV. Our analysis shows that the diphoton Higgs decay mode and \(H \rightarrow Z \gamma \) are not always positively correlated as claimed in a previous study. Anti-correlation is rather seen in the scenario where h is SM like, while correlation is sensitive to the sign of the potential parameter \(\lambda \) when H is identified to 125 GeV observed Higgs.  相似文献

We describe the properties of Higgs bosons in a class of supersymmetric theories. We consider models in which the low-energy sector contains two weak complex doublets and perhaps one complex gauge-singlet Higgs field. Supersymmetry is assumed to be either softly or spontaneously broken, thereby imposing a number of restrictions on the Higgs boson parameters. We elucidate the Higgs boson masses and present Feynman rules for their couplings to the gauge bosons, fermions and scalars of the theory. We also present Feynman rules for vertices which are related by supersymmetry to the above couplings. Exact analytic expressions are given in two useful limits — one corresponding to the absence of the gauge-singlet Higgs field and the other corresponding to the absence of a supersymmetric Higgs mass term.  相似文献
