The theoretical investigation of the superconducting state parameters (SSP) viz. electron-phonon coupling strength λ, Coulomb pseudopotential μ*, transition temperature T c, isotope effect exponent α and effective interaction strength N 0 V of ten Cu C Zr100?C metallic glasses have been reported using Ashcroft’s empty core (EMC) model potential. Three local field correction functions proposed by Hartree (H), Taylor (T) and Ichimaru-Utsumi (IU) are used in the current investigation to study the screening influence on the aforesaid properties. It is observed that the electron-phonon coupling strength λ and the transition temperature T C are quite sensitive to the selection of the local field correction functions, whereas the Coulomb pseudopotential μ*, isotope effect exponent α and effective interaction strength N 0 V show weak dependences on local field correction functions. The T c obtained from IU-local field correction function are found an excellent agreement with available theoretical or experimental data. Also, the present results are found in qualitative agreement with other such earlier reported data, which confirms the superconducting phase in metallic glasses.  相似文献

By neutron diffraction we investigated the magnetic properties of CsNiF3 around and below TN with and without magnetic field. We measured the phase diagram for 1.9 KTTN = 2.7 K in an external field. The phase transition in this temperature-range is always continuous. We were able to measure the critical scattering connected with the magnetic phase transition. This critical scattering is centered around the position of the magnetic Bragg reflections. The critical scattering was found to be similar everywhere on the phase-separation line (H ≠ )0 and at TN(H = 0). When applying a small field only processes were found, which correspond to a growing or diminishing of certain domains.  相似文献

We present a new hierarchical model for 2D Coulomb gases and investigate its behavior under renormalization group transformations. Unlike all previous hierarchical models (including the Migdal-Kadanoff version) for this system our model displays a line of stable fixed points describing the Kosterlitz-Thouless phase transition. For Coulomb gases corresponding to ZN models these fixed points are stable in an intermediate range of temperatures.  相似文献

We deposit ternary WCxNy thin films on Si (1 0 0) substrates at 500 °C using direct current (DC) reactive magnetron sputtering in a mixture of CH4/N2/Ar discharge, and explore the effects of substrate bias (Vb) on the intrinsic stress, preferred orientation and phase transition for the obtained films by virtue of X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and selective area electron diffraction (SAED). We find that with increasing the absolute value of Vb up to 200 V the carbon (x) and nitrogen (y) atom concentrations of WCxNy films keep almost constant with the values of 0.75 and 0.25, respectively. The XPS and SAED results, combined with the density-functional theory (DFT) calculations on the electronic structure of WC0.75N0.25, show our obtained WCxNy films are single-phase of carbonitrides. Furthermore, we find that the compressive stress sharply increases with increasing the absolute value of Vb, which leads to a pronounced change in the preferred orientation and phase structure for the film, in which a phase transition from cubic β-WCxNy to hexagonal α-WCxNy occurs as Vb is in the range of −40 to −120 V. In order to reveal the relationship between the stress and phase transition as well as preferred orientation, the DFT calculations are used to obtain the elastic constants for β-WCxNy and α-WCxNy. The calculated results show that the preferred orientation is dependent on the competition between strain energy and surface energy, and the phase transition can be attributed to a decrease in the strain energy.  相似文献

The screening dependence theoretical investigations of the superconducting state parameters (SSP) viz. electron-phonon coupling strength λ, Coulomb pseudopotential μ*, transition temperature TC, isotope effect exponent α and effective interaction strength N0V of six binary La100−CGaC (C=16, 20, 22, 24, 26 and 28 at.%) metallic glasses have been reported using Ashcroft's empty core (EMC) model potential for the first time. Five local field correction functions proposed by Hartree (H), Taylor (T), Ichimaru-Utsumi (IU), Farid et al. (F) and Sarkar et al. (S) are used in the present investigation to study the screening influence on the aforesaid properties. The TC obtained from H-local field correction function is found in qualitative agreement with available experimental data and show almost linear nature with the concentration (C) of ‘Ga’ element. A linear TC equation is proposed by fitting the present outcomes for H-local field correction function, which is in conformity with other results for the experimental data. Also, the present results are found in qualitative agreement with other such earlier reported data, which confirms the superconducting phase in the metallic glasses.  相似文献

A nonlocal chiral quark model is consistently extended beyond mean field using a strict 1/N c expansion scheme. It is found that the 1/N c corrections lead to a lowering of the temperature of the chiral phase transition in comparison with the mean-field result. On the other hand, near the phase transition the 1/N c expansion breaks down and a nonperturbative scheme for the inclusion of mesonic correlations is needed in order to describe the phase transition region.  相似文献

Low-temperature specific-heat measurements on YbRh2Si2 at the second order antiferromagnetic (AF) phase transition reveal a sharp peak at TN=72 mK. The corresponding critical exponent α turns out to be α=0.38, which differs significantly from that obtained within the framework of the fluctuation theory of second order phase transitions based on the scale invariance, where α?0.1. We show that under the application of magnetic field the curve of the second order AF phase transitions passes into a curve of the first order ones at the tricritical point leading to a violation of the critical universality of the fluctuation theory. This change of the phase transition is generated by the fermion condensation quantum phase transition. Near the tricritical point the Landau theory of second order phase transitions is applicable and gives α?1/2. We demonstrate that this value of α is in good agreement with the specific-heat measurements.  相似文献

We have measured magnetization curves and powder neutron diffraction of double-layered Ruddlesden-Popper type ruthenate Sr3−xCaxRu2O7 (x=1.5, 2.0 and 3.0). The field dependence of the magnetization revealed that the transition field of metamagnetic transition along the b-axis shifted to lower fields and that the transition became broad with increasing Sr content. The slope of the magnetization curve also increased with increasing Sr content below the metamagnetic transition. These results indicate that an itinerant component is partly introduced by the Sr substitution. From the magnetic reflection, on cooling below TN, an additional reflection was observed at (0 0 1) for each x, and the amplitude increased with decreasing temperature. The observed diffraction patterns are very similar to those of Ca3Ru2O7. We conclude that the magnetic structure of the antiferromagnetic ordered phase is basically the same structure with that of Ca3Ru2O7.  相似文献

SU(N) chiral models defined on three-dimensional cubic lattices arestudied using mean field and Monte Carlo techniques. Mean field theory predicts first-order transitions for all finite N greater than two. The mean field estimates of the transition temperature and discontinuity of the order parameter are in good agreement with computer simulations for N = 3 and 4. The N → ∞ limit of mean field theory has a first-order phase transition.  相似文献

We investigate the energy gaps and half-metallicity of the zigzag-edged β-graphyne nanoribbons via a tight-binding approach. In the presence of on-site Coulomb repulsion and proper transverse electric field strengths, the nanoribbons are forced into a half-metallic state by the electric field. A phase transition from half-metal to insulator is realized by changing the electric field or Coulomb potential. Both the electric field and Coulomb repulsion can open direct band gaps, resulting in a metal-insulator phase transition. The band gaps oscillate with the electric field, contrary to linear change with the Coulomb potential.  相似文献

Magnetic phase transitions in rare earth intermetallic compound Nd7Rh3 have been investigated using a single crystal. Measurement results of magnetization, magnetic susceptibility, specific heat, and electrical resistivity reveal that Nd7Rh3 has two magnetic phase transitions at TN=34 K, Tt2=9.1 K and a change of the magnetic feature at Tt1=6.8 K in the absence of an external magnetic field. Antiferromagnetic orderings exist in all the three magnetic states; a large magnetic anisotropy between the c-axis and the c-plane is observed. In the magnetic phase below Tt2, an irreversible field-induced magnetic phase transition takes place in the c-plane; after removing external magnetic field, a coexistence state of ferro- and antiferromagnetic ordering or a ferrimagnetic state having a remanent magnetization MR is stabilized. The MR decays to a certain value for several hours after the first process; a magnetic field cooling effect was also observed in the c-plane below Tt2. In the antiferromagentic state above Tt2, the irreversibility disappears and an ordinary antiferromagnetic state takes place. As the origin of this phenomenon, a kind of martensitic structural transition that is observed in Gd5Ge4 can be considered.  相似文献

The electrical resistivity of N-n-propylpyridinium-TCNQ2 (NPPy-TCNQ2) and N-n-butylpyridinium-TCNQn (NBPy-TCNQn) has been measured as a function of temperature and pressure. Phase transitions in these salts have been studied at high pressures. The transition temperature (Tc) in NPPy-TCNQ2 at atmospheric pressure increased with increasing pressure at the rate of dTc/dP = + 12.0 degkbar?1. The value of volume change calculated from the Clapeylon-Clausius relation was + 4.4 cm3 mol?1. The electrical resistivity along the a- and c-axis increased with increasing pressure below 7 kbar. This anomalous electrical behaviour is closely related to the crystal structure of NPPy-TCNQ2. The resistivity dropped sharply at about 11 kbar. This abrupt change may be due to a new pressure induced phase transition. The Tc of the NBPy-TCNQn increased remarkably with increasing pressure up to 0.7 kbar, above which the phase transition disappeared. The phase transitions of N-n-alkyl-substituted pyridinium TCNQ salts depend strongly on the nature of cations.  相似文献

A theory is presented explaining the recently observed superconductivity at 9 °K in Pd-H and at 11 °K in Pd-D as due to the quenching of the spin-fluctuations and as due to the decrease of the Coulomb pseudo-potential μ present in Pd. That one observes for PdD a larger superconducting transition temperatureT c than for PdH is explained by the larger lattice expansion resulting for adding H to Pd. The observed non-monotonic dependence ofT c on the Hydrogen concentration is explained by the fact that approximately λ ∝N(0) for smallN(0), whereN(0) is the electronic density of states at the Fermi-energy and where λ denotes the electron-phonon coupling constant. Superconducting transition temperatures are estimated for PtH and RhH.  相似文献

The phase diagram of Z(N) lattice gauge theories is examined in the mean-field approach. It is shown how large non-perturbative fluctuations around the mean-field may naturally occur in these theories. When this happens, a massless phase which is absent in the mean-field approximation is dynamically generated. An order parameter which characterizes the Coulomb to Higgs phase transition is introduced. The predictions for the values of the critical coupling for this transition are in excellent agreement with the Monte Carlo data in four dimensions.  相似文献

We analyze two dimensional gases composed of particles interacting via a Coulomb or Yakawa potential through their “non-Abelian” charges. These charges are taken to be elementary weight or root vectors of SU(N). The grand partition function of these gases is shown to be equivalent to the generating functional of sine-Gordon models with weight vectors and hence to that of SU(N) fermion models. The fermion field creates or annihilates topological solitons which have elementary weight vectors as topological quantum numbers. Then, we discuss the confinement of fermions in the SU(N) Higgs models, where instantons (ZN vortices) constitute a Yukawa gas of weight charges. We prove that fermions are confirmed by the effects of instantons in the SU(N) Higgs models in contrast with the Abelian Higgs model.  相似文献

The effect of magnetic inhomogeneity on magnetic, magnetocaloric, and transport properties of the colossal magnetoresistance manganites with first order ferromagnetic-to-paramagnetic phase transition is studied. The experiments were performed on the single-crystalline samples of La0.6Pr0.1Ca0.3MnO3. The inhomogeneity is described by the Curie temperature distribution function, which is found from the magnetization data. The temperature dependence of the magnetic field induced change in the entropy is shown to be determined by the distribution function and the shift of the transition temperature in a magnetic field. Similarly, magnetoresistance in the transition region is determined by the resistivity at H=0 and the shift of the transition temperature. The maximum entropy change as well as maximum magnetoresistance can be achieved in the magnetic field of order δTC/BM where δTC is the transition width and BM is the rate of change of the Curie temperature with magnetic field. Our approach to analysis of the effects of inhomogeneity is general and therefore can be used for all compounds with the first order magnetic phase transition.  相似文献

We construct generalized twisted Eguchi-Kawai models which for large-N reduce space-time to a lattice of arbitrary size. Large-N lattice gauge theory at finite temperature is investigated in a model on a lattice with L0 time slices and two lattice points in very time slice. We observe the large-N deconfinement phase transition in the weak coupling region. Assuming asymptotic scaling we find a transition temperature Tc = (101±4)ΛL.  相似文献

Previous neutron measurements in the mixed magnetic system, CsMn1-xCoxCl3·2H2O have been extended to samples with x = 0.035, 0.05 and 0.075. In this system two kinds of magnetic ions with competing orthogonal spin anisotropies are randomly distributed. The ordering temperatures TN (x are clearly detected through the appearance of magnetic Bragg reflections. However, there are no indications for the existence of any other phase transition under the experimental conditions. The observed magnetic phase below TN (x) corresponds to an oblique antiferromagnetic phase predicted for such a system.  相似文献

V-substituted LiMnPO4 has been synthesized by the solid state reaction route. Combined Rietveld refinement of neutron and X-ray data revealed that all vanadium ions are located in the same positions as the phosphorus ions. The magnetic structure of LiMnP0.85V0.15O4 was found to be the same as that described for undoped antiferromagnetic LiMnPO4 (TN=34.5 K). DC-magnetization measurements were carried out to study the peculiarities of magnetic ordering in LiMnP0.85V0.15O4. An irreversible behavior of DC magnetization was found at magnetic fields less than ∼2 kOe. It was demonstrated that an increase in the magnitude of the applied field leads to a reduction of the discrepancy between zero-field-cooled and field-cooled processes. These effects were explained by the movement of domain walls and by transition of the system to a monodomain state. The anomaly in the magnetization vs field dependence attributed presumably to the spin-flop transition was observed at ∼40 kOe. The existence of magnetic inhomogeneity in the paramagnetic phase of LiMnP0.85V0.15O4 was proved by the analysis of the χ?T product. It was concluded that the observed changes in χ?T are indicative of a competition between ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic correlations at temperatures slightly exceeding TN.  相似文献
