Spectral and kinetic characteristics of the luminescence and luminescence excitation spectra of polycrystalline SrB4O7:Pr (1%) and SrB6O10:Pr (1%) samples are studied at 150–170 K. The samples show an intense luminescence band in the vicinity of 405 nm (1 S 01 I 6 transitions of Pr3+) and shorter wavelength bands also assigned to transitions from the 1 S 0 level. The main luminescence decay constant is ~2×10?7 s. The excitation spectra of the 1 S 0 luminescence in these crystals are significantly different. The SrB4O7:Pr crystal shows three well-resolved bands at 6.14, 6.55, and 6.91 eV in the region of the 4f 2→4f 15d transitions and a complex structure in the region of interband transitions (7.1–20 eV), whereas the SrB6O10:Pr crystal shows a weakly structured band at 6.31 eV and no excitation in the region of the interband transitions. The physical mechanisms that may be responsible for the observed features of the spectra are discussed.  相似文献

Low-temperature (T = 7 K) time-resolved selectively photoexcited luminescence spectra (2–6 eV) and luminescence excitation spectra (8–35 eV) of wide-bandgap chrysoberyl BeAl2O4, phenacite Be2SiO4, and beryl Be3Al2Si6O18 crystals have been studied using time-resolved VUV spectroscopy. Both the intrinsic luminescence of the crystals and the luminescence associated with structural defects were assigned. Energy transfer to impurity luminescence centers in alexandrite and emerald was investigated. Luminescence characteristics of stable crystal lattice defects were probed by 3.6-MeV accelerated helium ion beams.  相似文献

The dependence of the structural reorganization of Eu3+ optical centers in Al2O3-Eu2O3-BiOF films on the annealing temperature has been investigated. It is shown by the methods of crystal field theory and computer simulation that the increase in the annealing temperature from 700 to 1100 °C leads to removal of bismuth from Eu-O-Bi complex centers with the C 3V symmetry in the Al2O3 structure and the change in symmetry from D 3 to O h for a large fraction of EuAlO3 centers.  相似文献

The luminescence spectra of a KZnF3: Tl+ crystal are investigated in the energy range from 4.75 to 5.9 eV at temperatures of 10–300 K upon excitation into the A absorption band (5.7–6.3 eV). At T=300 K, the luminescence spectra exhibit an intense band with a maximum at 5.45 eV, which is attributed to single Tl+ ions substituted for K+ ions. The 5.723-eV intense narrow band observed at T<20 K is assigned to the 3Γ1u-1Γ1g zero-phonon transition, which is weakly allowed by the hyperfine interaction. The luminescence decay is studied as a function of temperature. The main characteristics of the luminescence spectra are adequately described in terms of the semiclassical theory based on the Franck-Condon principle and the Jahn-Teller effect for an excited sp configuration of the Tl+ ion with the use of the parameters obtained earlier from analyzing the absorption spectra of the system under investigation.  相似文献

The optical spectra and the second-harmonic generation (SHG) are studied in a noncentrosymmetric GdFe3(BO3)4 magnet. In the region of weak absorption (α~20–400 cm?1) below ~3 eV, three absorption bands are distinguished, which can be unambiguously assigned to forbidden electronic transitions from the ground 6A1 state of the Fe3+ ion to its excited states 4T1(~1.4 eV), 4T2(~2 eV), and 4A1, 4E(~2.8 eV). Intense absorption begins in the region above 3 eV (α~2–4×105 cm?1), where two bands at ~4.0 and 4.8 eV are observed, which are caused by allowed electric dipole charge-transfer transitions. The spectral features of SHG in the 1.2–3.0-eV region are explained by a change in the SHG efficiency caused by a change in the phase mismatch. It is shown that in the weak absorption region, phase matching can be achieved for SHG.  相似文献

This paper reports on the results of the comprehensive study of the dynamics of electronic excitations in K2Al2B2O7 (KABO) crystals, obtained by low-temperature luminescence vacuum ultraviolet spectroscopy with nanosecond time resolution upon photoexcitation by synchrotron radiation. For the first time, the data have been obtained on the photoluminescence (PL) decay kinetics, PL spectra with time resolution, PL excitation spectra with time resolution, and reflection spectra at 7 K; the intrinsic nature of PL at 3.28 eV has been established; luminescence bands of defects have been separated in the visible and ultraviolet spectral regions; an intense long-wavelength PL band has been detected at 1.72 eV; channels of the formation and decay of electronic excitations in K2Al2B2O7 crystals have been discussed.  相似文献

The absorption, luminescence, and excitation spectra of CaF2, SrF2, and BaF2 crystals with EuF3 or YbF3 impurity have been investigated in the range 1–12 eV. In all cases, strong wide absorption bands (denoted as CT1) were observed at energies below the 4f n -4f n ? 15d absorption threshold of impurity ions. Weaker absorption bands (denoted as CT2) with energies 1.5–2 eV lower than those of the CT1 bands have been found in the spectra of CaF2 and SrF2 crystals with EuF3 or YbF3 impurities. The fine structure of the luminescence spectra of CaF2 crystals with EuF3 impurities has been investigated under excitation in the CT bands. Under excitation in the CT1 band, several Eu centers were observed in the following luminescence spectra: C 4v , O h , and R aggregates. Excitation in the CT2 bands revealed luminescence of only C 4v defects.  相似文献

Submicron samples of Y2O3:Eu3+ phosphor with elevated photoluminescence (PL) efficiency and activator concentration of 9 at % obtained by the sol–gel method were investigated by diffuse reflection spectroscopy and PL spectroscopy. It is found that the diffuse reflection spectrum in the vicinity of the fundamental absorption edge (<300 nm) is distorted by the superposition of the PL of Eu3+ ions, as a result of which the calculated value of optical band gap E g of the Y2O3 matrix is overestimated. An algorithm for eliminating the PL influence on the absorption edge is proposed, and the correct E g values are found to be 4.61 ± 0.12 and 4.50 ± 0.12 eV for annealing at 700 and 1300°C, respectively.  相似文献

The curves of intracenter luminescence decay for Mn2+ ions in the Cd0.5Mn0.5Te semiconductor solid solution, obtained in a low-temperature experiment, have been simulated by the Monte Carlo method. The features of the kinetics of the 2-eV band in the time interval where significant nonexponentiality of relaxation at different points of the emission band profile manifests itself, as well the integral kinetics and energy relaxation, have been considered. Migration of ion excitations and concentration quenching (which was previously disregarded) are considered to be the main mechanisms determining the kinetic curve formation. It was established that excitation by 2.34-eV photons leads to both selective (intracenter) and band excitation of Mn2+ ions. Comparison of the results of numerical simulation and experiment showed that the characteristic values of the migration and quenching rates (W m and W q , respectively) are close in magnitude and W q, m ≈ 0.1/τ, where τ is the lifetime at the long-wavelength band wing with the exponential kinetics. The estimated quantum yield (0.56) indicates significant influence of the concentration quenching on the 2-eV luminescence quantum yield in Cd1 ? x Mn x Te and Zn1 ? x Mn x S crystals with a high concentration of Mn2+ ions.  相似文献

The processes involved in the excited-state relaxation of hole O 1 0 centers at nonbridging oxygen atoms in glassy SiO2 were studied using luminescence, optical absorption, and photoelectron emission spectroscopy. An additional nonradiative relaxation channel, in addition to the intracenter quenching of the 1.9-eV luminescence band, was established to become operative at temperatures above 370 K. This effect manifests itself in experiments as a negative deviation of the temperature-dependent luminescence intensity from the well-known Mott law and is identified as thermally activated external quenching with an energy barrier of 0.46 eV. Nonradiative transitions initiate, within the external quenching temperature interval, the migration of excitation energy, followed by the creation of free electrons. In the final stages, this relaxation process becomes manifest in the form of spectral sensitization of electron photoemission, which is excited in the hole O 1 0 -center absorption band.  相似文献

Charge transfer in Al2O3 has been investigated experimentally and theoretically. The experimental results are in qualitative agreement with the theory of the multiphonon ionization of deep centers. The thermal (W T = 1.5 eV) and optical (W opt = 3.0 eV) energies of the deep centers have been determined. It has been found that the experimental data are unsatisfactorily described by the Pool-Frenkel mechanism, which provides a non-physically small frequency factor and anomalously large effective tunneling mass.  相似文献

A sol-gel method is used to prepare GeO2-Eu2O3-Ag films in which the luminescence efficiency of Eu3+ ions during UV excitation is comparable to that in films activated by organic europium complexes. The luminescence spectra of these films are recorded, and the films are also studied using EPR and x-ray diffraction. The main origin of this effect is found to be complex Eu-Ag centers with a high quantum yield of the intracenter transfer of excitations to the rare-earth activator from silver ions and Ag m n+ oligomer clusters located on the surface of silver nanoparticles.  相似文献

We report the results of our experimental study and numerical simulation of the electronic excitation energy transfer to impurity centers under conditions where nonstationary processes take place in the hydrogen sublattice of potassium dihydrogen phosphate (KH2PO4) single crystals doped with mercury-like Tl+ ions (KDP:Tl). We present the experimental results of our investigation of the decay kinetics of the transient optical absorption (100 ns–50 s) of intrinsic defects in the hydrogen sublattice of KDP:Tl obtained by pulsed absorption spectroscopy and the results of our study of the dynamics of the change in steady-state luminescence intensity with irradiation time (1–5000 s). To explain the transfer of the energy being released during electron recombination involving intrinsic KDP:Tl lattice defects, we formulate a mathematical model for the transfer of this energy to impurity Tl+ luminescence centers. Within the model being developed, we present the systems of differential balance equations describing the nonstationary processes in the electron subsystem and the hydrogen sublattice; provide a technique for calculating the pair correlation functions Y(r, t) of dissimilar defects based on the solution of the Smoluchowski equation for the system of mobile hydrogen sublattice defects; calculate the time-dependent reaction rate constants K(t) for various experimental conditions; and outline the peculiarities and results of the model parametrization based on our experimental data. Based on our investigation, the dramatic and significant effect of a gradual inertial increase by a factor of 50–100 in steady-state luminescence intensity in the 4.5-eV band in KDP:Tl crystals due to the luminescence of mercury-like Tl+ ions has been explained qualitatively and quantitatively.  相似文献

Absorption spectra of the 4f—5d transitions of the Ce3+ ion in the region of 4–8 eV were studied in Ce3+-doped Na0.4Lu0.6F2.2 single crystals. Luminescence spectra in the ultraviolet and visible spectral regions, luminescence decay kinetics and reflection and luminescence excitation spectra in the visible/ultraviolet and ultraviolet regions (4–20 eV) were investigated at helium and room temperatures.  相似文献

Ultraviolet photoluminescence (PL) of LiB3O5 (LBO) crystals has been studied under selective excitation by photons in the vacuum ultraviolet and ultrasoft x-ray regions, including the K-absorption edges of the Li and B cations and O anion. Radiative recombination of electron-hole pairs was established to be the main channel of the intrinsic PL excitation at 4.2 eV. Features were observed in the PL excitation spectra near the lithium and boron K-absorption edges originating from excitation of the cation 1s core excitons. Experimental evidence of the multiplication of Li 1s excitons in LBO was obtained. It is shown that excitation of the O 1s core excitons does not affect the PL yield noticeably. The differences in the appearance of the Li, B, and O 1s excitons in the excitation spectra of the LBO ultraviolet PL are discussed.  相似文献

We report a quantitative investigation of the magnetic field-temperature phase diagram by taking into account a simple phenomenological model arising out of the interplay of kinetic arrest and thermodynamic transitions in a magnetic glass Pr0.5Ca0.5Mn0.975Al0.025O3, through magnetization measurements. Such studies are necessary as kinetic arrest plays an important role in the formation of “magnetic glasses”, which has been observed in systems undergoing first order magnetic phase transitions. It has been shown that disorder in a system results in the formation kinetic arrest (H K ,T K ) band, like supercooling (H *,T *) and superheating (H **,T **) band. Quantitative proofs are given to show that (H K ,T K ) band is anticorrelated with (H *,T *) and (H **,T **) bands, while the later two are correlated among themselves. Analysis of time dependence of magnetization at different temperatures is carried out to establish the fact that the kinetic arrested state is different from the supercooled state.  相似文献

The luminescence of excitons and antisite defects (ADs) was investigated, as well as the specific features of the excitation energy transfer from excitons and ADs to the activator (Ce3+ ion) in phosphors based on Lu3Al5O12:Ce (LuAG:Ce) single crystals and single-crystalline films, which are characterized by significantly different concentrations of ADs of the Lu Al 3+ type and vacancy-type defects. The luminescence band with λmax = 249 nm in LuAG:Ce single-crystal films is due to the luminescence of self-trapped excitons (STEs) at regular sites of the garnet lattice. The excited state of STEs is characterized by the presence of two radiative levels with significantly different transition probabilities, which is responsible for the presence of two excitation bands with λmax = 160 and 167 nm and two components (fast and slow) in the decay kinetics of the STE luminescence. In LuAG:Ce single crystals, in contrast to single-crystal films, the radiative relaxation of STEs in the band with λmax = 253.5 nm occurs predominantly near Lu Al 3+ ADs. The intrinsic luminescence of LuAG:Ce single crystals at 300 K in the band with λmax = 325 nm (τ = 540 ns), which is excited in the band with λmax = 175 nm, is due to the radiative recombination of electrons with holes localized near Lu Al 3+ ADs. In LuAG:Ce single crystals, the excitation of the luminescence of Ce3+ ions occurs to a large extent with the participation of ADs. As a result, slow components are present in the luminescence decay of Ce3+ ions in LuAG:Ce single crystals due to both the reabsorption of the UV AD luminescence in the 4f-5d absorption band of Ce3+ ions with λmax = 340 nm and the intermediate localization of charge carriers at ADs and vacancy-type defects. In contrast to single crystals, in phosphors based on LuAG:Ce single-crystal films, the contribution of slow components to the luminescence of Ce3+ ions is significantly smaller due to a low concentration of these types of defects.  相似文献

The paper reports on a study of exciton luminescence in single crystals (SCs) and single-crystal films (SCFs) of YAlO3, which have substantially different concentrations of vacancy-type and substitutional defects, under excitation by synchrotron radiation near the fundamental absorption edge. The radiative annihilation of excitons in SCFs was shown to occur primarily at regular perovskite lattice sites and to be accompanied by luminescence in a band peaking at λmax = 295 nm with τ = 5.2 ns. In contrast to SCFs, the radiative exciton decay in YAlO3 SCs takes place predominantly near vacancy-type defects (F+ and F centers) and is accompanied by luminescence in the bands at λmax = 350 nm (τ = 2.5 ns) and 440 nm (τ1 = 1.9 ns, τ2 = 30 ms). Photoexcitation in the 175-nm band of YAlO3 SCs revealed photoconversion of the centers FF+.  相似文献

The phase chemical composition of an Al2O3/Si interface formed upon molecular deposition of a 100-nm-thick Al2O3 layer on the Si(100) (c-Si) surface is investigated by depth-resolved ultrasoft x-ray emission spectroscopy. Analysis is performed using Al and Si L2, 3 emission bands. It is found that the thickness of the interface separating the c-Si substrate and the Al2O3 layer is approximately equal to 60 nm and the interface has a complex structure. The upper layer of the interface contains Al2O3 molecules and Al atoms, whose coordination is characteristic of metallic aluminum (most likely, these atoms form sufficiently large-sized Al clusters). The shape of the Si bands indicates that the interface layer (no more than 10-nm thick) adjacent to the substrate involves Si atoms in an unusual chemical state. This state is not typical of amorphous Si, c-Si, SiO2, or SiOx (it is assumed that these Si atoms form small-sized Si clusters). It is revealed that SiO2 is contained in the vicinity of the substrate. The properties of thicker coatings are similar to those of the 100-nm-thick Al2O3 layer and differ significantly from the properties of the interfaces of Al2O3 thin layers.  相似文献

The EPR spectra of Cu2+ ions (2 D 5/2) located at two structurally nonequivalent positions Cu1 and Cu2 in crystals of lithium heptagermanate Li2Ge7O15 are recorded. The angular dependences of the EPR spectrum are measured in the paraelectric phase of the Li2Ge7O15 compound (T = 300 K). The components of the g factor and the hyperfine interaction tensor A are determined, and the orientation of the magnetic axes with respect to the crystallographic basis is established. The EPR spectra are recorded in the temperature range in the vicinity of the temperature T C = 283 K of the transition from the paraelectric phase to the ferroelectric phase. The position symmetry of the Cu1 and Cu2 centers is determined at temperatures above and below the phase transition temperature T C . The localization of paramagnetic centers in the structure is discussed, An analysis of the results obtained demonstrates that the Cu1 and Cu2 centers in the Li2Ge7O15 crystal lattice replace lithium ions located at two structurally nonequivalent positions with the symmetries described at temperatures above T C by the triclinic C i and monoclinic C 2 point groups, respectively.  相似文献
