THE ANALYSIS OF RADIOACTIVE DECAY CURVES (Ⅰ) TWO-COMPONENT DECAY CURVES——INTRODUCTION OF A NON-CLASSICAL METHOD OF ANALYSIS

In present paper, a non-classical method ("λ" method) of analyzing the two-component radioactive decay curve was developed. The use of the relationship between the apparent decay constant λ(t) and the time t in fitting is to be distinguished from the use of the relationship between the total activity A(t) and t in fitting by the classical method ("A" method). In "λ" method, there are three unknowns while in "A" method there are four, thus the former is simpler than the latter.     

NOVEL SYSTEMATICS OF AUTOIONIZATION AND RADIATIVE DECAY RATES OF DOUBLY EXCITED STATES OF ATOMS

We discuss the novel systematics and the calculation of autoionization and radiative decay rates of doubly excited states of atoms and ions where both electrons have high principal quantum numbers.

THE LIMITING RESOLUTION ABILITY AND DYNAMIC RANGE OF OPTIMUM WEIGHT COEFFICIENTS OF ADAPTIVE BEAMFORMING SYSTEMS

Some problems of designing an adaptive beamforming system are considered in this paper.Oneis the limiting resolution ability of an adaptive beamforming system.The general representationof the output signal to noise ratio and gain of such system are given.A method for calculating theability of adaptive beamforming systems to reject more than one plane wave interference is shown.As a function of the generalized angle between signal and interferences,the formula for evaluatingsystem gain is derived.The corresponding numerical results are presented.We conclude that thelinmiting resolution ability depends not only on the generalized angle,but also on the interference tonoise ratio.Some concrete examples are illustrated.The othet problem considered in this paperis the dynamic range of optimum weight coefficients.In terms of the solution of the optimum transferfunction in frequency domain,an upper bound of optimum weight coefficients is presented.

HELICITY FORMALISM OF THE ANGULAR DISTRIBUTION FOR THE J/ψ HADRONIC DECAY PROCESS

In this paper we give the helicity formalism of the angular distribution for processes e⁺e^－→J/ψ→V+X,V→P₁P₂ and e⁺e^－→J/ψ→V+X,X→P₄P₅.It provides the theoretical formula for e⁺e^－ experimental data analysis.     

THE EFFECTS OF CORRELATED SENSOR SIGNAL FLUCTUATION ON THE STATISTICAL PERFORMANCE OF AN AR HIGH RESOLUTION ARRAY PROCESSOR

The statistical performance of AR high resolution array processor in presence of correlated sensor sig-nal fluctuation is studied.Mean square inverse beam pattern and pointing error are examined.Speial atten-tion is paid to the effects of reference sensor and correlation between sensors.It is shown that fluctuationcauses broadening or even distortion of the mean square inverse beam pattern.Phase fluctuation causespointing error.Its standard variance is proportional to that of fluctuation ahd is related to the number ofsensors of the array.Correlation betwecn sensors has important effects on pointing error.     

THE RIGHT-HANDED CURRENTS OF NEUTRINOLESS DOUBLE β DECAY IN 48Ca

Right-handed Currents in 0νββ decay with lepton-number nonconservation is discussed by using two nucleons mechanism and the effective operator approach of nuclear matrix elements in this paper. The relation between the mixing parameter η of right-handed currents and the Majorana neutrino mass m_ν is calculated from the experimental decay lifetime of 0νββ decay in ⁴⁰Ca. Our results show that i) m_ν≤(18~23)eV, if |η|=0;ii) |η|≤(1.6~2)×10^－5, if m_ν=0     

GLUEBALL COMPONENT OF THE PSEUDOMESON AND ITS PRODUCTION IN J/ψ RADIATIVE DECAY

In this paper we calculate the width of the process J/ψ→γ+ pseudoglueball in perturbative QCD. It is shown that because of the mixture between η、η′ and ι(1440) there is a glueball component in η and η′and it is predominant in the processes J/ψ→γη and γη′. The ratio Γ(J/ψ→γη′)/Γ(J/ψ→γη) obtained in this calculation is bigger than other theoretical models and consistent with experimantal data.     

STUDIES OF ρ AND K* MESONS DECAY BY THE ONEGLUON-EXCHANGE QUARK-ANTIQUARK PAIR CREATION MODEL

Decay rates of ρ-meson into two π mesons and K* into Kπ mesons are calculated by using the One-Gluon-Exchange Quark-Antiquark pair creation model.The results are in agreement with the experimental data.     

PRODUCTION OF A 3－+ GLUEBALL IN J/ψ RADIATIVE DECAY

The multiple angular-correlation function for the sequential decays J/ψ→γ+G(3^－+), G(3^－+)→M₁M₂, where G is a J^pc=3^－+ state and M₁ and M₂ are spinless mesons, is deduced. A 3^－+ glueball state is discussed and the ratios of the helicity amplitudes of J/ψ→γ+G(3^－+) are calculated. One ratio is independent of the glueball's mass and very small.     

THE COULOMB DISINTEGRATION CROSS-SECTION AND DECAY RATE OF THE SPIN (0－3/2) ELECTROMAGNETIC BOUND SYSTEM

In this paper, the coulomb disintegration cross-section and decay rate of the atom (π⁺Ω^－) are calculated by using perturbation expansion of the quantized composite field theory and relativistic B-S wave function for spin (0－3/2) electromagnetic bound system. The disintegration cross-section of the high energy atom (π⁺Ω^－) in screened coulomb field of nuclei is about σ=Z^4/3×2.9×10^－18cm², and the calculation result of the decay rate is w[(π⁺Ω^－)→π⁺Λ⁰K^－]/w[Ω^－→Λ⁰K^－]=1+O(α).     

A SENSITIVE METHOD TO DISTINGUISH THE SPIN OF THE HEAVY LEPTON τ FROM ITS TWO BODY DECAY ENERGY SPECTRA

We point out that in e⁺+e^-→τ⁺+τ^- for spin 3/2 τ^±the different helicity statesof τ^±will possess different weights.When the beam energy is much larger than themass of τ,we argue that,in some renormalizable models,τ may even have only ±1/2 helieity states.Therefore,the two body d cay energy spectra will show a significantdifference from that of τ with spin 1/2.This provides us with a very sensitivemethod to distinguish the spin of τ.     

DECAY π0→2γ IN THE MIT BAG MODEL

In this paper the MIT bag model and wave Packet Method are used to calculate the width of the process π⁰→2γ It is found that m_π→0 is a good approximation. The results are consistent with PCAC. The theoretical value of Γ(π⁰→2γ) is 2.7 times of the experimental value. The deviation is mainly from the calculation of F_π. It is also found that the deviation strongly depends on the equation and the boundary contion of the MIT bag model.     

DESCRIPTION OF A CALCULATION METHOD OF ELASTIC CONSTANTS OF CRYSTALS

With the help of the decline method,a computer-aided analysis program of Christoffel equation is des-cribed which makes it possible to calculate elastic and viscous constants of crystals precisely and easily.Theelastic constants of LiNbO_3 and Bi_(12)GeO_(20)crystals are calculated with an Apple-Ⅱcomputer and theFortran program suggested,and the calculated data are compared with the values achieved by others.     

STUDY OF ULTRASONIC PROPERTIES OF THE AQUEOUS SOLUTION OF GELATIN

The experimental investigation of aqueous solution of the gelatin has been made by usingultrasound at frequency 11.4 MHz.The relation between concentration and ultrasound absorptiondoes not reach its saturated value even at the weight concentration of the solution c=8.5%. When the concentration is more than l.5%,the solution transforms into jelly under room tem-porature,but the ultrasonic absorption does not change in the whole transformation proces.Whenthe temperature of the solution is decreased to the vicinity of gelling point,the viscosity η of the solutionincreases gradually with time,making the value of sound absorption calculated from η largerthan the experimental one by several orders.But when the temperature of the solution is appropriatelyhigher than the gelling point,the calculated value of sound absorption is smaller than the experimentalone but with the same order. The temperature at which the maximum sound velocity occurs in the concentrated(c=6.4%)solution is not much different from that     

GROWTH TECHNIQUE OF MOLECULAR CRYSTAL OF NAPHTHALENE

A furnace for growing single crystal naphthalene of diameter 1-1.3cm and length up to15cm has been constructed by the Bridgman method in combination with zone-melting technique.The furnace is simple in its construction,convenient in its operation and convenient for the observa-tion of the crystal growth process.The effect of the shape of crystal growth container on crystalgrowth is discussed and the experiment in vapor growth of small naphthalene flakes is described.The preparation procedure of naphthalene samples for ultrasonic measurement,which may be alsouseful for preparation of other soft crystals,is given.     

A METHOD OF DISPLAYING COLOR SPECTROGRAM OF SPEECH BY USE OF MICROCOMPUTER

A method of drawing color spectrogram of speech by using microcomputer is described in this paper,and referred to the metod of drawing spectrogram by computer.With the software and no addition anyother aqripment.,we can draw color three-dimension spectrogram(or black-white spectrogram with-out color monitor),and it is similar to spectrogram of sonagrapher.     

MULTIDIMENSIONAL ANALYSIS OF PERCEPTIONAL CONFUSION OF CHINESE CONSONANTS

The perceptional features of Chinese consonants has been analysed in multidimensional scalingby means of optimizing the fitting to the confusion probabilities of consonants as observed in articula-tion tests.The dependence of minimum Stress as criterion for fitting on dimensions has beenobtained. In this paper,a method of multidimensional scaling is described briefly.A program for perform-ing calculations on a programmable calculator and the questions of handling the blank data as wellas setting the starting configurations are discussed.Some typical results of calculation are given.     

DEVELOPMENT OF THE LAW OF TURBULENT JET NOISE

Lighthill's theory of aerodynamic noise is re-examined,and an equivalent of his U~8-law derived interms of pressures.The total acoustic power of jet noise is expressed as W=8KD~2(p_1-P_0)~4/(σ_0c_0P_1~2)K being the Lighthill's constant,D the diameter of the nozzle,P_1,the plenum pressure and P_0 theatmospheric pressure.This formula applies to cold-air jet at low pressures.Further development,theformula is generalized to high pressures,working material of molecular weight M at temperature T.Soundpressure level in the direction perpendicular to the jet is seen more exact to describe the field,and this at lmeter from the nozzle is found as L=80+10 log(R-1)~4/(R~2-R+0.5)+20 log(TM_0)/(T_0M)+20 log dwhere R=P_1/P_0 and d=diameter in mm.The general formula reduces to the empirical formulae uponneglecting some small terms.
