Simple analytical recurrent formulae of the branching rules for group chain SU(2N)⊃(SU(N)⊃O(N)⊃O(3))⊗SU(2) are obtained. The highest weight states for the irreducible representations [2alb] or {nS} of group SU(N) and for the irreducible representations (2α1β) or (υS) of group O(N) are constructed respectively  相似文献

In this paper we show that D = 11 supergravity admits an infinite discrete class of solutions having the phenomenological group SU(3) ? SU(2) ? U(1) as a symmetry of the internal space M7. These solutions lead, in dimensional reduction, to SU(3) ? SU(2) ? U(1) gauge fields. In general all these spaces produce a complete breaking of supersymmetry except in one case where N = 2 supersymmetry survives. The parameter which classifies the solutions is a rational number q/p which describes the embedding of the stability subgroup SU(2) ? U(1) ? U(1) of M7 in SU(3) ? SU(2) ? U(1). For all q/p ≠ 1 the holonomy group is SO(7) and all supersymmetries are broken. For q/p = 1 the holonomy group is SU(3) and two supersymmetries survive. In this last case we can also find a solution with internal photon curl Fαβγδ ≠ 0. It breaks all sypersymmetries.  相似文献

We describe a class of supersymmetric SU(3)×SU(2)×U(1) models where all quarks and leptons, as well as their scalar partners, get masses through one-loop radiative corrections.  相似文献

We show that in supersymmetric SU(3) × SU(2) × U(1) it is possible to break SU(2) with an Higgs singlet and at the same time to avoid vacuum expectation values for s-fermions. With rather simple constraints we obtain important restrictions on the values of the model parameters.  相似文献

We propose a rational quantum deformed nonlocal currentsin the homogeneous space SU(2)k/U(1),and in terms of it and a free boson field a representation for the Drinfeld currents of Yangian double at a general level k=c is obtained. In the classical limit h→0,the quantum nonlocal currents become SU(2)k parafermion, and the realization of Yangian double becomes the parafermion realization of SU(2)k current algebra.  相似文献

We analyze several patterns of symmetry breaking of SO(10) where SU(3)c × SU(2) × U(1) × U(1) is an intermediate energy subgroup. Using constraints from the renormalization group and data from neutral-current experiments we show that if the only Higgs used in the low-energy breaking of the theory are those which can give mass to fermions then the possibility of a low intermediate mass scale is ruled out.  相似文献

It is found that in the SU(3) broken quark model the SU(3) generators and their time derivatives belong to the SU(3) × SU(3) algebra. Using this algebra and the infinite momentum method the SU(3) mass sum rules are obtained. The possibility is discussed that normal spin-parity nonets and anomalous ones differ in the structure of the mass spectrum.  相似文献

An SU(3) × U(1) × U(1)′ gauge model of weak and electromagnetic interactions is proposed which satisfies the ΔT = 12 rule for non-leptonic decays of strange particles. The value of neutral leptonic currents predicted in the model agrees with the experimental data.  相似文献

Classical SU(3) Yang-Mills-Higgs theory with the Higgs field in the adjoint representation is studies, when the SU(3) symmetry is broken down to U(3) and U(1)×U(1). Spherically symmetry equations of motion are solved for various boundary conditions. The finite-energy solutions correspond to magnetic monopoles and isopoles.  相似文献

Currently two scenarios exist which explain SU(2) × U(1) breaking: the Higgs mechanism, and standard hypercolor schemes. In this paper, a third scenario called “oblique hypercolor” is proposed. A hyperquark condensate is formed which, although kinematically allowed to point in an SU(2) × U(1) preserving direction, is forced by Yukawa interactions of the hyperquarks to misalign by a small angle, breaking SU(2) × U(1). The low energy spectrum involves normal fermions with correct masses, a partially composite Higgs boson, and physical charged scalars.  相似文献

We consider the possibilities for generating a baryon asymmetry in the early universe in a flipped SU(5) × U(1) model inspired by the superstring. Depending on the temperature of the radiation background after inflation we can distinguish between two scenarios for baryogenesis: (1) after reheating the original SU(5) × U(1) symmetry is restored, or there was no inflation at all; (2) reheating after inflation is rather weak and SU(5) × U(1) is broken. In either case the asymmetry is generated by the out-of-equilibrium decays of a massive SU(3) × SU(2) × U(1) singlet field φm. In the flipped SU(5) × U(1) model, gauge symmetry breaking is triggered by strong coupling phenomena, and is in general accompanied by the production of entropy. We examine constraints on the reheating temperature and the strong coupling scale in each of the scenarios.  相似文献

The effective lagrangian which includes the U(1) axial anomaly is discussed. The lagrangian describes the interaction of physical mesons of spin-zero and spin-one fields and an effective Kogut-Susskind four-vector anomaly field. The interactions are constructed which satisfy all the anomalous Ward identities for vertices which accommodate arbitrary amounts of chiral and SU(3) symmetry breaking consistent with U(3) × U(3) current algebra.  相似文献

We compute in the standard model of SU(3)c×(SU(2)×U(1)) with massless quarks and leptons the two-loop anomalous dimensions of the four-fermion operators relevant to proton decay in process involving (u, d, e, νe). The calculation is carried out by the use of dimensional reduction, a variant of dimensional regularization. Our aim is to give a complete calculation within the SU(5) GUT model of the next-to-leading enhancement-suppression factor for nucleon decay due to renormalization effects arising from hard gluons, W's and B's in process which involve (u, d, e, νe). It turns out that the result is sensitive to the ratios x(i) = MH (i)/MX where MH(i) are the masses of the twelve superheavy Higgs scalars in the 24 multiplet which breaks SU(5) → SU(3)×SU(2)×U(1).  相似文献

We consider an SU(3) × U(1) model with natural symmetry. We exhibit difficulties with the model for the simplest Higgs structure, but by extending it obtain the Cabibbo angle if one quark is very heavy. Difficulties with naturality persist for leptons.  相似文献

Strong coupling expansions for the string tension and other quantities in lattice gauge theories are computed in arbitrary dimension for the groups Z3, U(1), SU(2), SU(3). This enables us to determine the location of the roughening transition, which seems to be group independent when measured in an appropriate variable. In four dimensions, the strong coupling expansion of string tension calculated up to fourteenth order for SU(2), and twelfth order for SU(3) agrees nicely with Monte Carlo data up to the roughening point.  相似文献

We study a gauge-invariant order parameter for deconfinement and the chiral condensate in SU(2) and SU(3) Yang–Mills theory in the vicinity of the deconfinement phase transition using the Landau gauge quark and gluon propagators. We determine the gluon propagator from lattice calculations and the quark propagator from its Dyson–Schwinger equation, using the gluon propagator as input. The critical temperature and a deconfinement order parameter are extracted from the gluon propagator and from the dependency of the quark propagator on the temporal boundary conditions. The chiral transition is determined using the quark condensate as order parameter. We investigate whether and how a difference in the chiral and deconfinement transition between SU(2) and SU(3) is manifest.  相似文献

We express the vacuum expectation value of the SU(3)k parafermion fields by that of two bosons and SU(3)k current algebra. When k = 1,2,3, the SU(3)k current algebra becomes an inner product of a unitary representation, and T(z), W(3)(z) are equivalent to "quasiself-adjoint" operators in this represen tation.  相似文献

We present a systematic analysis of hadronic neutral currents in low energy neutrino reactions applicable to SU(2) ? U(1) models with any number of quarks. We point out a relation to determine the Weinberg angle independent of the models for the heavy quarks. We discuss the constraints of atomic neutral current experiments on the SU(2) ? U(1) gauge models.  相似文献
