In order to treat two-photon laser action including noise close to threshold the Fokker-Planck equation is used and its steady state solution determined. It allows us to discuss the stable, unstable, and metastable states of the two-photon laser.  相似文献

We propose to make a two-photon laser based on intersubband (sublevel) transitions in semiconductor nanostructures. The advantages and feasibility of such a two-photon laser are analyzed in detail using the density matrix approach. Both one-photon and two-photon gains in a three subband quantum well structure are studied on the same footing to show how the two-photon gain can be maximized, while the competing one-photon gain is minimized. The results show that a sufficient two-photon gain can be achieved to overcome one-photon competition and the loss of a conventional semiconductor cavity, making intersubband transitions one of the very few feasible approaches to two-photon lasing.  相似文献

采用自由基浓度起伏理论结合光镊集聚效应,理论研究了飞秒激光双光子加工的线宽问题。根据双光子光聚合过程中自由基浓度随时间变化的关系,考虑光镊效应对自由基分布范围的影响,得到了飞秒激光双光子加工线宽的表达式。研究了线宽随扫描速度与激光功率的变化关系,并讨论了不同光引发剂对线宽的影响。得到了以自由基浓度起伏为基础,并考虑光镊效应的双光子加工线宽表达式,该结果与实验结果相符。研究结果为飞秒激光双光子加工的研究提供了新的思路,为光镊集聚效应对线宽影响的实验研究提供了理论依据。  相似文献

Two-photon absorption of an optical (laser) and an x-ray quantum is considered within the context of the Born approximation. A simple expression relating the two-photon and one-photon photoionization absorption coefficients is obtained. If the upper state is one of the conduction bands of a solid, the two-photon absorption coefficient is shown to peak at points in the zone for which the curvature of the band is a maximum. Numerical estimates show that with a 100 kW Nd laser, the intensity of the two-photon absorption process is a few percent of that of the one-photon process.  相似文献

We demonstrate a technique for multiplicatively increasing the pulse spacing of subfemtosecond pulse trains generated by high-order stimulated Raman scattering, which uses pairs of off-resonant two-photon excitation of a molecular Raman mode to establish strong molecular modulation in the medium. Every laser pair has two single-mode laser beams tuned slightly off two-photon resonance, and the laser pairs have their corresponding carrier frequencies shifted from each other by one half, one third, or one fourth of the selected molecular Raman mode frequency. Theoretical analyses and calculations based on the fundamental vibrational transition of solid hydrogen show that the pulse spacing of the subfemtosecond pulse trains thus generated can readily be doubled, tripled, or even quadrupled.  相似文献

<正>We theoretically and experimentally study the polarization and phase control of two-photon absorption in an isotropic molecular system.We theoretically show that the two-photon transition probability decreases when the laser polarization changes from linear through elliptical to circular,and the laser polarization does not affect the control efficiency of two-photon transition probability by shaping the spectral phase.These theoretical results are experimentally confirmed in coumarin 480.Furthermore,we propose that the combination of the laser polarization with the spectral phase modulation can further increase the control efficiency of the two-photon absorption.  相似文献

本文采用Langevin量子理论处理光泵三能级激光体系。在激光场的光子数不太高时导出一个普适的激光场Van der Pol运动方程。它既包括了非相干和相干泵浦,又包括了强泵浦和弱泵浦情况。若对热库取平均,该方程将给出半经典理论的全部结果。本文的结果表明,激光增益来源于两个基本过程:两个光子过程和两步过程。当泵浦强度大于某阈值时,将出现动态斯塔克效应。激光线宽主要来源于热噪声、真空涨落、激光能级的自发辐射以及自发Raman散射。 关键词:  相似文献

2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate (abbreviated as HEMA) and acrylonitrile have been used as the monomers to form a trans-4-[p-(N-hydroxyethyl-N-methylamino)styryl]-N-methylpyridinium p-toluene sulfonate (abbreviated as HMASPS) doped linear copolymer. The spectra of one and two-photon excited fluorescence and two-photon pumped superradiance and two-photon pumped lasing of the polymer all shifted to short wavelengths compared with the solution sample of the dye. The copolymer shows much longer one- and two-photon excited fluorescence lifetimes of nanoseconds. When pumped by the picosecond Nd:YAG laser, the superradiance and lasing can be simultaneously obtained. The maximum two-photon pumped lasing conversion efficiency is 3.3%. The place of the maximum upconversion efficiency of the copolymer does not coincide with that of the maximum nonlinear absorption.  相似文献

基于两双光子过程的相位共轭二阶极化干涉,从理论上研究了四能级系统在阿秒量级的不对称和频极化拍频(FASPB).在抽运光束为窄带情形下,场关联对FASPB信号影响很弱.在宽带情形下,FASPB信号表现出共振-非共振交叉关联,双光子信号展现出混合辐射-物质失谐的THz阻尼振荡,即当激光频率偏离双光子共振跃迁的条件时,信号将呈现阻尼振荡,而且其双光子自相关信号的包络还呈现最大值零延时不对称.还研究了由于两双光子自相关过程零延时的偏差导致的阿秒拍频信号的不对称性,和两个双光子信号的最大值分别向相反的方向偏离零延时点的现象.FASPB作为一种阿秒超快调制过程,从理论上说它可以扩展到任何两偶极禁戒跃迁激发态的能级和系统. 关键词: 阿秒和频 极化拍 四能级 双光子  相似文献

Improving the up-conversion luminescence efficiency of rare-earth ions via the multi-photon absorption process is crucial in several related application areas. In this work, we theoretically propose a feasible scheme to enhance the resonance-mediated two-photon absorption in Er~(3+) ions by shaping the femtosecond laser field with a rectangle phase modulation. Our theoretical results show that the resonance-mediated two-photon absorption can be decomposed into the on-resonant and near-resonant parts, and the on-resonant part mainly comes from the contribution of laser central frequency components, while the near-resonant part mainly results from the excitation of low and high laser frequency components.So, the rectangle phase modulation can induce a constructive interference between the two parts by properly designing the modulation depth and width, and finally realizes the resonance-mediated two-photon absorption enhancement. Moreover, our results also show that the enhancement efficiency of resonance-mediated two-photon absorption depends on the laser pulse width(or laser spectral bandwidth), final state transition frequency, and intermediate and final state absorption bandwidths. The enhancement efficiency modulation can be attributed to the relative weight manipulation of on-resonant and near-resonant two-photon absorption in the whole excitation process. This study presents a clear physical insight for the quantum control of resonance-mediated two-photon absorption in the rare-earth ions, and there will be an important significance for improving the up-conversion luminescence efficiency of rare-earthions.  相似文献

A nonresonant two-photon absorption process can be manipulated by tailoring the ultra-short laser pulse. In this paper, we theoretically demonstrate a highly selective population of two excited states in the nonresonant two-photon absorption process by rationally designing a spectral phase distribution. Our results show that one excited state is maximally populated while the other state population is widely tunable from zero to the maximum value. We believe that the theoretical results may play an important role in the selective population of a more complex nonlinear process comprising nonresonant two-photon absorption, such as resonance-mediated (2+1)-three-photon absorption and (2+1)-resonant multiphoton ionization.  相似文献

Two asymmetrical molecules with substituted acetylene as central rigid elongated conjugation are reported as potential chromophores for two-photon microscopic imaging. These molecules consist of a typical D–π–A structure, have different donors (D), the same π-conjugated center (π) and the same acceptor (A). Structural characterization and spectroscopic properties, including single-photon (linear) absorption, quantum yields, single-photon fluorescence, and two-photon absorption spectra, were studied in solvents with different polarity. These acetylene-substituted molecules were found to have high two-photon absorption cross-sections (for example, 690 GM for molecule 1 in toluene), which were determined by a two-photon induced fluorescence method using a femtosecond Ti: sapphire laser as excitation source. Single- and two-photon cellular imaging experiments demonstrate that the substituted acetylene derivatives could be one kind of promising two-photon fluorescence probes for cellular imaging.  相似文献

We describe the operating characteristics of a new type of quantum oscillator that is based on a two-photon stimulated emission process. This two-photon laser consists of spin-polarized and laser-driven 39K atoms placed in a high-finesse transverse-mode-degenerate optical resonator and produces a beam with a power of approximately 0.2 microW at a wavelength of 770 nm. We observe complex dynamical instabilities of the state of polarization of the two-photon laser, which are made possible by the atomic Zeeman degeneracy. We conjecture that the laser could emit polarization-entangled twin beams if this degeneracy is lifted.  相似文献

利用飞秒激光脉冲相位整形技术,从理论和实验两方面,对强激光场下分子体系苝溶液中非共振双光子跃迁的相干控制进行了研究。通过对飞秒激光脉冲进行相位扫描和余弦相位调制,发现分子体系中非共振双光子的跃迁几率能够被削弱,但不能完全消除。分子体系中非共振双光子跃迁的相干控制受到激光光场的形状和分子吸收谱谱宽的影响;与原子体系相比,分子体系中非共振双光子跃迁相干控制的调制效率降低。  相似文献

以原子均匀展宽的单模环形双光子激光器为模型,用半经典方法讨论有注入信号的双光子激光器的双稳性质。论证在谐调情况下该系统会出现双稳态,并且对于“好腔”和“坏腔”极限,通过绝热消除描述了双稳性导致的输出光的瞬态行为和滞后循环。发现在低分支是单调地趋向稳态,而在高分支是振荡地趋向稳态;在输出场不连续变化之处出现临界慢化现象。  相似文献
